Minutes of Guardian Workers Group

Attending: Aphrodite, Hana, Calvino, Eos, Bruce,

1) Email Discussions

- Original Face theme session proposed by Cal and Darren/Liza. The session will be held on Saturdays at 1:00 pm, beginning on April 9.

Action: Cal will first confirm that this will work with Liza/Darren and send out an email to all Guardians next week informing everyone of the time.

2) Short Updates

- April 1 PaB Anniversary party

Aphrodite indicated that she has just sent out a revised final schedule that includes Storm’s magic carpet ride and the treasure hunt, and that the HUDs to take people to the different party sites will be posted at 3 sites. She said she thought everything else is under control

- March 26-27 SL retreat

Eliza Madrigal reported that the “Retreat went well... Zen was an excellent facilitator and we kept to longer than usual pausing. We shorted the sessions to 90 minutes on the second day, which was just right. I felt that it was a 'goldilocks' retreat... in that we shared a lot about comfort levels sitting/talking, etc. We shared some poems as well, and inspirations regarding practice... worked very well. We gave a text to Eos regarding observations to add into the knowledge base for retreats, especially SL, in general. (done) 5 AVs attended Wol Gaya zen myself and Darren

Recommendations for the next retreat: Most felt that a smaller number was helpful, but for Eliza thought her group of 9 worked just as well. In the future 90 minute sessions with 2 hour breaks would be better for a weekend retreat OR only 3 sessions of 2 hrs just for health/comfort. Calvino Rabeni reported that he had a chat with zen and darren about the retreats ... it was about the leadership issues ..emergent vs. predefined vs. facilitated ..

Both of them leaned toward, having the organizers define the structure a bit more in advance. Most like RL retreats that are run according to a well-known pattern, however, some blend of that and pure emergent might work out because some find the negotiations during it, a little distracting

Storm Nordwind reported that Sharon hasn't dismantled the Retreat site yet. Although we want to keep it special and private, he said the magic carpet will reach it (as part of the Party events) and wondered whether he should keep visits  to the Retreat siteout of the tour schedule

Action: It was decided to keep it as a “secret garden” for now and not include a visit to this site on the magic carpet ride.

 - April 3 Being Recorded art project" It is on party schedule as well. So far there are 16 submissions and looks great.

3) Working Group Refresh

- Current members staying/leaving

• Eos has been chair this cycle, so we'll need a new chair but will keep his retreat role till end of year, especially RL retreats and helping organize SL retreats
• Hana Furlough: was working on the handbook and running the Friends of PaB mailing list. She has really enjoyed being part of the working group, but the time differences pose some problems with regard to attending meetings plus her RL commitments are increasing so she’d like to step back. Hana was thanked for all her work.
• Storm Nordwind is still co-owner (with Piet) of the sim, and does a number of things for PaB. He has also be more of a mamber at large w/o specific tasks so feels he is an easy one to replace and is happy to stand down and make space for some of the new blood. He could probably be like Bleu, joining in to WG mtgs when appropriate.
• Calvino Rabeni is okay with continuing his role, as it has been, or learning a bit more of the server technicalities, but, it would be ideal to find someone sort of fael-like to do it if possible.
• Aphrodite Macbain said she was willing to continue recording for the next 6 months if that is what is needed.
• Bruce Mowbray agreed to be the facilitator for the WG meetings. Bruce will be facilitating the next WG meeting (April 12) immediately after his Pavilion session and also post the agenda in the wiki in advance of the meeting.
• Adams seems happy to be back with Chronicles. she's very organized'techie' skills' -- and has high hopes for Boxy.
• Bleu might continue to do what she is doing and perhaps Sun could collaborate with her.

 - Suggested new members

• Two new members were suggested and will be contacted within the week by Cal and Eliza.
• An email will be put out to the general group to ask if anyone is interested in joining the working group.
• We will then need to develop a revised list of WG Guardians

4) Creative Commons license for PaB wiki content tabled till next meeting
