Before I reached the tea house, I got an IM from Dakini.

IM: Dakini Rhode: hi Pema, when you get to the teahouse please try TPing me
    IM: Pema Pera: will do!

I went into the tea house, sat down and offered Dakini a teleport.
A moment later I saw her dangling from the ceiling, wriggling for a bit, and then falling down like a ripe apple from a tree. She was holding the prayer wheel in her hand that Cid had given her the previous day.

    Pema Pera: hahaha
    Pema Pera: welcome here
Pema Pera: prayer wheel and all
Pema Pera: you entered on a wing and a prayer
    Dakini Rhode: Hello!
    Pema Pera: hi there!
Dakini Rhode: I had a moment there when I thought i might be stuck in the roof, but I seem to have landed!
Pema Pera: yes, you did seem to hover there, not so much stuck but still rezzing I guess
    Dakini Rhode: Perhaps
Dakini Rhode: I tried only making part of the roof phantom
    Pema Pera: ah
    Pema Pera: well
    Pema Pera: good enough!
Dakini Rhode: I think it’s the “double roof” thing I have here that has caused the probs
    Pema Pera: ah
    Dakini Rhode: maybe.
Pema Pera: I just had a look again at Storm’s blog
Pema Pera: I’m touched by the way he is playing with the 9-second practice,
Pema Pera: or the way the practice is playing with him, it seems (^_^)
Dakini Rhode: Will have to check later - old computer :-)
Pema Pera: oh sure, no rush
Pema Pera: how are you this morning?
Dakini Rhode: I’ve caught a little cold (or a little cold has caught me)
    Pema Pera: hahaha
Pema Pera: chuckling out loud here
Dakini Rhode: But I’m feeling not too bad
Pema Pera: glad to hear that
Dakini Rhode: Storm offered me a healing last nite - very wonderful
    Pema Pera: how nice!
Dakini Rhode: Lots of visualizations, I can continue to practice
Dakini Rhode: This body seems to need strengthening
Dakini Rhode: And how are you?
    Pema Pera: happy
Pema Pera: too busy to be something more complicated than that, right now :-)
    Dakini Rhode: :-)))

We reflected a little more on Dakini’s attic trap.

Dakini Rhode: I came here without anything in particular to report :-)
Pema Pera: apart from the new trap-door in the roof
Pema Pera: which is very helpful, thank you!
    Dakini Rhode: :-)
Dakini Rhode: I read thru your blog last nite and saw that mentioned SO many times…
    Pema Pera: hahah
    Pema Pera: yes
    Pema Pera: we’ve had fun
Pema Pera: and it filled its function
Dakini Rhode: I’ve TP’ed a Bhikkhu into this roof - very funny memory
    Pema Pera: hehe
    Pema Pera: when was that?
Dakini Rhode: some time ago, Bunan and I were sitting here and I wanted to show Bhikkhu a texture Bunan created
Dakini Rhode: Bunan created a symbol for an SL dharma group
Dakini Rhode: So I TP’ed Bhikkhu straight into the roof haha
    Pema Pera: haha
    Pema Pera: yes
Pema Pera: I know how that feels (for the bystanders — haven’t been tp-ed in the roofmyself)
Dakini Rhode: I could make the roof physical again and allow you the experience haha
Dakini Rhode: It’s a bit disorienting
Pema Pera: it occurred to me . . . . but no thanks, my life is adventurous enough as it is
Pema Pera: I guess, from people’s reactions!
Dakini Rhode: Until all the textures rez, you have no idea where you are
Pema Pera: they distinctly sounded disoriented
    Dakini Rhode: haha
Dakini Rhode: and there is that SL sort of swimming animation that you get stuck in
    Pema Pera: yes
Dakini Rhode: You do have the feeling of being stuck and disoriented
Pema Pera: like fish out of the water — in the attic
    Dakini Rhode: yes haha
Dakini Rhode: It’s sort of an interesting feeling
Dakini Rhode: We usually like to control our lives so we don’t get to feel that way
Pema Pera: we get stuck in a limited pattern that was designed to avoid getting stuck . . . . .
    Dakini Rhode: haha
Dakini Rhode: sort of shakes you up
Pema Pera: oh, yes, as you saw in the blog
Pema Pera: but there are many ways to shake up
Pema Pera: so we can move on to new ones ;>)
Dakini Rhode: haha I don’t know if waking up always happens from shaking up
    Dakini Rhode: sometimes we hide
Dakini Rhode: sometimes we try all the harder to find something to grasp onto
Pema Pera: we are so creative in all the ways we avoid waking up . . . .
Dakini Rhode: partly, don’t you think we have this instinct to preserve the body?
    Pema Pera: yes
Dakini Rhode: many of our responses are an attempt to preserve the body - like anger, etc. - just natural

We then noticed some passers by who had gathered at Dakini’s zen retreat place around the corner.

    Pema Pera: busy place here!
    Dakini Rhode: it’s great!
Dakini Rhode: who would have thought a little old meditation garden would be so much fun?
Pema Pera: they are outside texting range
Pema Pera: but inside voice range
Dakini Rhode: i heard the word meditation several times
Pema Pera: let’s get up and say hi, will we?
Dakini Rhode: yes, better than lurking, haha

We chatted for a while outside, and then invited them in for a cup of tea.

Resting Thor: i’ve been to one of your meditations here and recommending them to others :)
    Dakini Rhode: very, very happy!
Pema Pera: It’s always nice to see how many interesting people walk by here in this area!
Dakini Rhode: Of course, if you want to organize your own meetings here you’re welcome
Resting Thor: i’m slowly bringing in my buddhist buddies around the world
    Pema Pera: wonderful!
    Dakini Rhode: wow
Resting Thor: so we can do tibetan style debate in sl
Pema Pera: that’s a great idea!
Dakini Rhode: Thor, do you know there is a Tibetan place here as well?
    Resting Thor: need help scripting
Resting Thor: let me give you my lm for the meditation temple i made
    Dakini Rhode: please!
Resting Thor gave you ACI Buddhist and Yoga Meditation, Babel (247, 240, 233).
    Pema Pera: thank you!
Resting Thor: still learning to build
Pema Pera: Dakini built this pretty place, and then let me use it
Dakini Rhode: I’m honored you want to use it :-)
Pema Pera: I’m here every day at 7 am , 1 pm and 7 pm
Dakini Rhode: So many places in SL are like museums, beautiful but nobody there
    She Devin: yes they are…
Dakini Rhode: So this is not so beautiful, sort of rustic, but I LOVE that people use it
    She Devin: it is beautiful…

One by one, all of us starting floating above our cushions after drinking green tea.

Pema Pera: tea makes you float . . . .
Dakini Rhode: lol there’s something in that tea that’s very elevating
Dakini Rhode: is it when the cup detaches?
Dakini Rhode: haha a bunch of floating yogis
    Resting Thor: neat
    Pema Pera: levity reigns
Dakini Rhode: someday we’ll get all the bugs out ofthese scripts and then it won’t be so much fun!
Pema Pera: We used to get people here stuck in the attic . . . . .
    Pema Pera: too much elevation!
Dakini Rhode: I THINK i just fixed that today
Pema Pera: teleporting them here got them stuck
Pema Pera: but Dakini just built a trap door — for liberation
Pema Pera: all need such a door
Dakini Rhode: :-))) easier to build in SL

We quickly got comfortable with each other.

Dakini Rhode: She you’re just one letter off from being a devil haha
Pema Pera: and from being devine
She Devin: hmmmm…I missed that one when i picked the name…
    Dakini Rhode: :-)
Resting Thor: she’s normally quite good
She Devin: Devine would be nice though…
She Devin: I’m learning…all the time
    Pema Pera: (^_^)
Dakini Rhode: We’re beginning to have sort of a SL buddhist sangha here
    Dakini Rhode: Very diverse
    Trevor Berensohn: I like it
Dakini Rhode: We have RL zen monks practicing with us, from different schools of zen of course
Resting Thor: we’ll be bringing in a lot of our group from around the globe
    Dakini Rhode: how exciting!
Resting Thor: all students of the asian classics courses
    Pema Pera: exciting indeed!
Dakini Rhode: SL eliminates the barriers of space
Pema Pera: but not of time (zones)!
Dakini Rhode: we can all meet here together
Dakini Rhode: regardless of where we are in the world
Dakini Rhode: yes the time zones are still there
She Devin: that is one of the things i enjoy the most..
She Devin: not the time zones…
She Devin: the opportunity to talk to interesting people I would otherwise not meet
    Dakini Rhode: exactly!
Resting Thor: wonderful place to share ideas and make friends
She Devin: yes…I have met some wonderful people…

The conversation turned to Tibetan debate practice.

Resting Thor: so you wouldn’t mind if a bunch of noisy buddhist debate on your grounds occasionally?
Dakini Rhode: not at all, but I’m thinking you should check out the Tibetan place
    Resting Thor: will do
    Resting Thor: thx
Dakini Rhode: There is a large open space there which might be perfect for Tibetan style debating
Resting Thor: perhaps they already have debate ground
Trevor Berensohn: What is the Tibetan Place, Dakini?
    Dakini Rhode: Tara Ling
Dakini Rhode: I gave you a lm
Resting Thor: lets go see ?
Dakini Rhode: Well, I built it, so…
Resting Thor: you did wow :)
Dakini Rhode: Please let me know what a debate ground would look like
Trevor Berensohn: Oh yes, thank u
Dakini Rhode: we can make one there :-)
Resting Thor: i think i’ll go now then if its not too rude to leave u now
Dakini Rhode: not at all Thor
Pema Pera: also you may want to have a look at http://playasbeing.wordpress.com/ where we have our own little non-sectarian debates described ;>)
    Dakini Rhode: :-) yes
Pema Pera: you are welcome to join us here any day
Pema Pera: at 7 am or 1 pm or 7 pm
Dakini Rhode: very interesting adventure playasbeing
She Devin: I will go and look at the ground too…
She Devin: thank you for your hospitality….
Dakini Rhode: very nice to meet you
Pema Pera: nice to meet you all
She Devin: and you too…I will come again…
Trevor Berensohn: I hope to see you all again soon
Dakini Rhode: so do I :-)
    She Devin: bye..
    Pema Pera: c u

By the time our guests left it had become quite dark.

Dakini Rhode: I think night has fallen upon us
Pema Pera: it falls quite frequently in SL
Dakini Rhode: I loved Maxine’s description on the blog… of the world being “colored” differently when she does the 9sec
    Pema Pera: yes
Dakini Rhode: I knew exactly what she meant
Dakini Rhode: I think I’ll head over to Tara Ling to do a tour
    Pema Pera: okay
    Pema Pera: I’ll be off
    Dakini Rhode: namaste
Pema Pera: what a nice start of a day
    Dakini Rhode: :-)
    Pema Pera: namaste
Pema Pera: one moment just sitting here
Pema Pera: another moment a whole group ;>)
Dakini Rhode: :-) i love it
    Pema Pera: me too
    Pema Pera: see you later!
    Dakini Rhode: bfn
