Bleu Oleander: hi Curious
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: hello pips
Agatha Macbeth: Hello Lizji and Bleuji ♥
Agatha Macbeth: And Foo
Bleu Oleander: have you visited us before Curious?
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: have we meet bfore?
Agatha Macbeth: He has indeed
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: think not
Eliza Madrigal: usually at dream workshop
Bleu Oleander: nice to meet you
Agatha Macbeth: A regular at dreams on Tuesday
Bleu Oleander: ah ok
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: nice to meet you too,we met before Eliza, yes
Eliza Madrigal: :) nice that you've come to PaB session
Agatha Macbeth: Liz has more thatn one guise :p
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: i remeber that cool dream with Spacey ;)
Eliza Madrigal: haha... I may not have many talents but I suppose memorable dreams might be one
Agatha Macbeth: Oh you are multitalented
Bleu Oleander: indeed
Eliza Madrigal: :::reels in affection::: thank you :P
Eliza Madrigal: nice to see that Adams sent a notice about a new workshop today
Agatha Macbeth: YW
Bleu Oleander: didn't see that
Bleu Oleander: when is it?
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, I just managed to lose it :(
Agatha Macbeth: Is it today?
Eliza Madrigal: Curious, have you seen Art History Workshop group?
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: no
Eliza Madrigal: No, the exhibition will be opening mid July
Agatha Macbeth: Ah great
Eliza Madrigal: You can join from my profile if you like...
Eliza Madrigal: shall I paste the description?
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: art history work shop, abou what is that, like history, painters art in general?
Eliza Madrigal: Do not kill. This is taught by all of the major religions world-wide. Yet deep in the consciousness of Judaism, Christianity and Islam is the story of Abraham and his acceptance of God’s command to sacrifice his “only” son. The story has spun countless songs, explanatory stories, poems, commentary and visual art in all three traditions. A new exhibit is being installed on the second floor of the Museum of Sacred Art which will open around July 19. An art history workshop has been scheduled for 12 noon SLT on Sunday July 20 at the museum.
Eliza Madrigal: Well, PlayasBeing has a Museum of Sacred Art
Agatha Macbeth: Thanks
Agatha Macbeth: Wonderful
Eliza Madrigal: very well done and detailed...often cross referencing SL and RL sacred sites
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: thanks, ill try to memorize this
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bleu Oleander: that's one of my least favorite bible stories
Eliza Madrigal: yes... a very hard-to-take one
Eliza Madrigal: so I'll be interested to see Adams's take
Agatha Macbeth: Adams always does good stuff
Eliza Madrigal: curious too, to hear how brain visiting went, Bleu :)
Bleu Oleander: oh it was quite fabulous!
Agatha Macbeth: ?
Bleu Oleander: they are doing great work there
Bleu Oleander: we visited a brain bank and Alzheimers research center
Agatha Macbeth: Oh
Agatha Macbeth: RL or SL?
Bleu Oleander: they took us into the autopsy room (rl)
Eliza Madrigal smiles at the idea of an SL brain bank ^.^
Bleu Oleander: and showed us human brains and hearts
Agatha Macbeth: I'll make a withdrawal
Bleu Oleander: yes hehe
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: i saw it on Oprah ;)
Bleu Oleander: they have a long waiting line to get in
Eliza Madrigal: you weren't queasy, Bleu?
Agatha Macbeth: A night at the Oprah
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: ;))
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bleu Oleander: no no one was queasy interetingly
Bleu Oleander: a few looked pale
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: is this group connected with Jill Bolte Taylor's work also? (re Oprah)
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: that guy Hagen had a great show before a couple of years
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: i red her book
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: from bolte
Bleu Oleander: was quite interesting to see a "normal" brain compared to an Alzheimers brain
Bleu Oleander: btw reading is very good for the brain ... one of the take-aways
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: and dreaming also
Agatha Macbeth: Ah good
Agatha Macbeth nods
Eliza Madrigal: There is a supplement that is used for Alzheimers patients, that some take for lucid dreaming
Bleu Oleander: I found it very interesting that the person showing us all this believed in heaven and seemed to disconnect from the physical body
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: crazy, why they dont try on natural way
Agatha Macbeth: What causes Alzheimers?
Bleu Oleander: well they still don't have a good grip on that
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: God
Eliza Madrigal: that the two are linked in this way, is interesting in itself
Bleu Oleander: a form of dementia
Eliza Madrigal: memory
Agatha Macbeth: A physical prob with the brain itself?
Bleu Oleander: yes
Agatha Macbeth: Cells dying off, that kind of thing?
Bleu Oleander: right
Agatha Macbeth nods
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: its one of the worst things
Bleu Oleander: seems a build up of certain chemicals or substances
Eliza Madrigal: what was the difference in the brains, Bleu? hardess/softness?
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: colour
Bleu Oleander: http://www.bannerhealth.com/Research...itute+Home.htm
Agatha Macbeth: Amazing how much our 'we-ness' is restricted by our physical bodies
--BELL--
Bleu Oleander: the sick brain was more open and empty in areas compared with a tight normal brain http://banneralz.org/?rd=banneralzinst
Eliza Madrigal: not as dense and tangled?
Bleu Oleander: right
Bleu Oleander: in the frontal cortex especially
Bleu Oleander: so affects cognition
Bleu Oleander: not so much in the vision area so sight not affected
Bleu Oleander: they only take people for the full program
Bleu Oleander: they gather data while living
Agatha Macbeth: I see
Bleu Oleander: so they can look at the brain in a more meaningful way
Eliza Madrigal: what is strange to me about the research so far is that, if I'm not mistaken there is no difference between the susceptibility of someone who was in an academic career (lots of reading etc) vs someone not so inclined... yet the do make the recommendations for particular activities
Bleu Oleander: 500 on the waiting list :)
Eliza Madrigal: they do*
Bleu Oleander: genetics plays a role for sure
Bleu Oleander: not only life style
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: i red somewhere that most of them are not smokers
Agatha Macbeth: Hehe
Eliza Madrigal: are not?
Bleu Oleander: they're looking at a group in in south america
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/05/16/he...anted=all&_r=0
Bleu Oleander: who have a genetic version
Agatha Macbeth: Not many sensible people are!
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: like ther is a connection between smokin and alz
Bleu Oleander: and all get it by the time they're 30
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: tobacco
Eliza Madrigal: oh, I see..
Bleu Oleander: they've all agreed to be part of the study
Eliza Madrigal: that's great, Bleu
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: or just peace of mind that nicotine gives you
Bleu Oleander: so this is one of the leading research areas in the country
Agatha Macbeth: I must admit I'm always wary of statistics
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: its the all we have...statistics
Eliza Madrigal: we know that stress causes inflammation... or rather that inability to cope with stress does.. and the inflammation eats away at tissue early, in a sense
Bleu Oleander: reading isn't not the answer ... just better than passive TV
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: yes,its logical
Agatha Macbeth: Think stress is always bad
Bleu Oleander: exercise another good one
Eliza Madrigal: (or is stress itself inability to deal with unpredictability of life?)
Bleu Oleander: some stress is good
Agatha Macbeth: Oh my life is horribly predictable Liz :p
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: yes,for some, and right amount
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: probably for everybody
Agatha Macbeth: Love that dress btw, haven't seen it for ages
Bleu Oleander: who's dress?
Agatha Macbeth: Eliza's
Eliza Madrigal: ty :) I like it a lot too... one of the first I bought in SL...
Bleu Oleander: :(
Eliza Madrigal: near the Moulin Rouge
Agatha Macbeth: Sorry, yours is nice too
Bleu Oleander: :)
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: loly,oh...girls
Eliza Madrigal: haha
Agatha Macbeth: Ahem
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: shopping monsterz... ;)
Agatha Macbeth: Anyway, we were saying...
Eliza Madrigal: Bleu and I are dressed rather similarly really
Bleu Oleander: :)
Bleu Oleander: dressed up for you guys today
Eliza Madrigal: her hair is more french, oui?
Eliza Madrigal smiles... very nice
Agatha Macbeth: Formidable cherie
Eliza Madrigal: I would think that paying attention to details is really healthy...
Eliza Madrigal: grooming, cooking...
Eliza Madrigal: just day to day
Bleu Oleander: novelty
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, don't drink arsenic :p
Bleu Oleander: learn something completely different from your routine
Agatha Macbeth: Now there's a good trick Bleu
Eliza Madrigal: go left instead of right
Bleu Oleander: yes
Bleu Oleander: take a different route home
Agatha Macbeth: Making routines actually *work* for you, rather than the other way round
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: or just dream
Eliza Madrigal: :) even dreams can become predictable for people
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: but watch the traffic!
Bleu Oleander: seems novelty is good for the brain
Eliza Madrigal: we seem to make grooves
Bleu Oleander: get out of the groove!
Agatha Macbeth: Groovy
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: like grooves
Eliza Madrigal: sometimes nice to get one's groove back, hha
Bleu Oleander: groove at your own peril :)
Agatha Macbeth: Not so applicable with today's technology
Agatha Macbeth: 'Get in the laser' just doesn't work
Eliza Madrigal: hah
Bleu Oleander: so its a good thing when tech puts out a new version with a learning curve
Eliza Madrigal: I think it is about getting to the juice... what does it take to get there...
Agatha Macbeth nods
Agatha Macbeth: Juice?
Eliza Madrigal: yes... I was thinking this about my meditation routine, while in the shower this morning...
Agatha Macbeth: 0.0
Eliza Madrigal: that sometimes it plateaus like athletes describe
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: more dance ;)
Bleu Oleander: http://www.theguardian.com/science/2...ing-says-study
Bleu Oleander: this was interesting
Agatha Macbeth: The things we do in the shower eh
--BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: it can take a concerted effort to lift the car from a rut
Bleu Oleander: "our constant urge to do something rather than nothing"
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: i feel comfortable in solitude
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: with music
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfN-pXD5MDw
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: groooove
Bleu Oleander: "What is striking is that simply being alone with their thoughts was apparently so aversive that it drove many participants to self-administer an electric shock that they had earlier said they would pay to avoid"
Agatha Macbeth: Oh my
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: people are crazy!
Eliza Madrigal: wow!
Bleu Oleander: well seems they can't sit still
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: thats why so many bdsm places here
Agatha Macbeth grins
Agatha Macbeth: Knew there had to be a reason
Bleu Oleander: why many can't meditate perhaps?
Eliza Madrigal: they can't get through the plateau of what they are used to, re ways of thought and comfort with "external world"
Bleu Oleander: that's a nice way to put it
Eliza Madrigal: the phrase that came up for me this morning was to break the back of that resistance... but it was unlike me to suggest such a violent tem
Eliza Madrigal: term* :)
Bleu Oleander: yes!
Agatha Macbeth: Resist resistance
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: some people just enjoy in constant something, with two phones and always comunicating, its crazy
Agatha Macbeth: The Taoist would say 'bend with it' of course
Bleu Oleander: perhaps the soccer player who broke his back is on your mind?
Eliza Madrigal: ahhh, nice Aggers
Agatha Macbeth smiles
Eliza Madrigal: yikes. wasn't that awful
Bleu Oleander: indeed
Agatha Macbeth: Oh Neymar?
Agatha Macbeth: Cracked vertibra I think
Bleu Oleander: yes
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: it was on purpose
Bleu Oleander: sad if that
Eliza Madrigal: a lot of the injuries are stage shows but I don't think that was..
Bleu Oleander: high price to pay
Agatha Macbeth: And they say the NFL is dangerous :p
Eliza Madrigal: did you see the paper airplane?
Agatha Macbeth: 'me looks round
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: no,where?
Agatha Macbeth: Paper aeroplane?
Eliza Madrigal: people in the stands shot a paper airplane and it made it mid field... hitting a player from the opposing team
Agatha Macbeth: Good heavens
Bleu Oleander: ha!
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: yes,i saw that
Agatha Macbeth: Missed that
Eliza Madrigal: moment of their life I'm sure, haha
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: in the head
Agatha Macbeth: Get the point
Eliza Madrigal: yes!
Bleu Oleander: such a thing to be your 15 minutes
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: hooligan celeb ;)
Eliza Madrigal giggles... yes, your project on the cosmic refrigerator
Eliza Madrigal: *posted on
Agatha Macbeth: Is that a magnet thing?
Eliza Madrigal: :) mommie thing I guess
Agatha Macbeth: Hehe
Bleu Oleander: lol all my pups are on the fridge
Agatha Macbeth: Who would ever thought a fridge would become a mwans of communication?
Eliza Madrigal: awww
Agatha Macbeth: means*
Bleu Oleander: close to the food
Eliza Madrigal: what did the researchers say about the role f food, Bleu?
Bleu Oleander: diet plays a role too
Agatha Macbeth: Hopefully as much as possible :p
Eliza Madrigal: :))
Bleu Oleander: but lots of theories on which diets work best
Bleu Oleander: most say mediterranean
Eliza Madrigal: makes sense... olives...
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: iam from there
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: it works
Bleu Oleander: nice!
Bleu Oleander: what part?
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: croatia
Agatha Macbeth: Olives are good I think
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: people are old but still on the move
Bleu Oleander: veggies, fruit, fish, red wine :)
Agatha Macbeth: Isn't Croatia on the Adriatic?
Eliza Madrigal: is that also due to the way cities are arranged, pace of life, expectations of getting around less car oriented?
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe it's all the same thing
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: yes
Eliza Madrigal: ways to take new paths each day
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: its the sea energy
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: everything is different
Bleu Oleander: I have a friend in Split
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: cool
Bleu Oleander: http://www.bing.com/search?q=split%2...logo=CT3210127
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: nice city, speciall old town
Bleu Oleander: she loves it and wants me to visit
Eliza Madrigal: Kiremimi told me about these Japanese women that were sisters... I think there were 4 of them, and they all lived to be very old and were interviewed a lot due to remarkable memories. Reseachers felt that the way they got together to share and talk in a very purposeful way, kept them lively over time
Eliza Madrigal clicks link...
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: oh,go there
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: now throgh summer
Bleu Oleander: yes another one ... social and familial networks
Eliza Madrigal: looks gorgeous (pulled up an images page)
Bleu Oleander: it is
Agatha Macbeth: Hello Ras
Eliza Madrigal: I move furniture a lot... wonder if that helps ;-)
Bleu Oleander: yes! spacial challenges good
Agatha Macbeth: Thought the kids did it for you? ;-)
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: feng shui ;)
Agatha Macbeth: Ah, there's a subject
Eliza Madrigal: haah Aggers, this last big job, yes
--BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: to be honest, I have a very strange memory and at times worry/wonder if I will be someone who has this challenge
Agatha Macbeth: Mm?
Eliza Madrigal: when tired, I go blank
Eliza Madrigal: the kids are always filling in gaps for me about things also
Agatha Macbeth: I'm like that that most times!
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: me too,i forget things to took
Bleu Oleander: perhaps just preoccupied?
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: cause iam often somewhere else
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: in cloud
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I'm not sure at all
Eliza Madrigal: I remember visiting an elderly aunt when little, and my mom said, before we entered the room... "she only has lucid moments..."
Eliza Madrigal: and I think I'm like that
Agatha Macbeth: Lucid in the sky with diamonds
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: haha
Eliza Madrigal: when lucid very lucid but the rest of the time kind of blank
Agatha Macbeth: All or nothing
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bleu Oleander: I think that's normal ... can't be "on" all the time
Agatha Macbeth: The joys of consciousness
Eliza Madrigal nods... would be nice to sort of stretch it out more and fill in gaps... even if forced to sacrifice some of the peaks
Bleu Oleander: but perhaps meditation contributes to that?
Eliza Madrigal: I wonder
Bleu Oleander: I catch myself day dreaming a lot
Eliza Madrigal: odd to live in a time when we know so much about perception
Eliza Madrigal: oh?
Bleu Oleander: but that's where my creativity surfaces from I think
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: i must go,see ya next time
Bleu Oleander: by Curious
Eliza Madrigal: nice to see you, Curious
Agatha Macbeth: Bye Foo, see you Tuesday
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: bye
Mediterraneanmonkseal Resident: yes
Eliza Madrigal: nice suspenders :)
Agatha Macbeth: Boing
Eliza Madrigal: the feeling like you go somewhere else, Bleu?
Bleu Oleander: yes, not paying attention to the here and now
Agatha Macbeth: Oh I'm like that all the time
Agatha Macbeth: AFK in RL
Bleu Oleander: :)
Eliza Madrigal: hahah
Eliza Madrigal nods.. that's a big curiosity .. we seem to be in many places at once
Eliza Madrigal: and coming in and out of those places continually
Bleu Oleander: can "be" whereever we want to be
Agatha Macbeth: Multidimensional beings
Bleu Oleander: sl teaches us that in a way
Agatha Macbeth: 'I'm just a daydreamer walking in the rain...'
Eliza Madrigal: I think so. It is sort of difficult to remember what I didn't know before SL
Eliza Madrigal: ^.^
Bleu Oleander: :)
Agatha Macbeth: I don't know what i don't know
Bleu Oleander: didn't know how fussy I could be over what my avatar looked like lol
Eliza Madrigal grins
Agatha Macbeth: Oh true
Eliza Madrigal: definitely more detailed than most
Bleu Oleander: perhaps a substitute for an rl effort ... which can seem hopeless LOL
Agatha Macbeth: Yeh
Eliza Madrigal: hah, doubtful
Eliza Madrigal: RL avie never is quite as groomed as Eliza
Bleu Oleander: exactly
Bleu Oleander: cheaper too
Eliza Madrigal: haha... effortless
Bleu Oleander: well sorry I can't stay for GM today
Bleu Oleander: too many social events today
Agatha Macbeth: Then the viewer goes wrong and you're all grey
Eliza Madrigal: no worries... I have dropped ambition to accomplish anything in particular... hope I won't be cranky like I was in my session
Eliza Madrigal: have a lovely day Bleu
Agatha Macbeth: Bye Bleuji ♥
Bleu Oleander: have fun day
Agatha Macbeth: Love to doggies
Bleu Oleander: take care hugs
Eliza Madrigal: tc, bfn
