Bleu Oleander: 's current display-name is "Bleu".
Eliza Madrigal: 's current display-name is "Eliza".

Eliza Madrigal: someone left another cushion seems...
Agatha Macbeth: Wow Brucie has his own cushion
    Agatha Macbeth: Nice
Eliza Madrigal: didn't see that this AM
    Agatha Macbeth: Maybe orthopaedic
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Wol Euler: on MY SPOT >:-|
    Bleu Oleander: nice
    Wol Euler grumbles.
    Eliza Madrigal: lol
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh wow
Eliza Madrigal: need a nap, Bleu?
    Agatha Macbeth: Nice poses
    Bleu Oleander: very cool
Eliza Madrigal: makes you look like a fairie
    Bleu Oleander: lol
Agatha Macbeth: Just needs a pair of purple boots now ;)
    Bleu Oleander: comfy
Eliza Madrigal: well thanks for the topic Wol... of all the traditions we've talked about in PaB, Judaism has been probably one of the least discussed
Wol Euler: my pleasure, I'm glad it sparked this off
Eliza Madrigal: although that wasn't about just Judaism of course
    Agatha Macbeth: Shame Steve left
Bleu Oleander: do you consider that topic Judaism?
Agatha Macbeth: Talk of the devil :p
    Bleu Oleander: hi steve
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi Steve
Eliza Madrigal: most of us probably have other things in front of the topic
    stevenaia Michinaga: giggles
Eliza Madrigal: other triggers and frames, and filters
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Stevie :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: waves
Agatha Macbeth: Well leave out the triggers anyway :p
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: the triggers point to important feelings :)
    Agatha Macbeth: That's okay then
Bleu Oleander: seems all the Judeo-Christian religions embrace the topic, yes?
Wol Euler: it occurs to me that one reason that Islam insists on it being Ishmael and not Isaac, is that he was the not-favoured son, the cast-out, the neglected and rejected
Wol Euler: so he had no reason for filial piety and obedience
Wol Euler: making all the more significant his (ishmael's) acceptance of being sacrificed
Wol Euler: the Koran has him talking Abraham into the sacrifice.
stevenaia Michinaga: So much for fathers listening to their son
    Wol Euler smiles.
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Wol Euler: the son's posture in the images is significant
Eliza Madrigal: it may be a wonderful thing that it is hard to comprehend this story now
    Wol Euler nods.
    Wol Euler: very true
Wol Euler: and yet, children are still sacrificed fairly regularly
Bleu Oleander: indeed although too many relate to it I think
stevenaia Michinaga: especially as a foundation of the three so called great religions
Wol Euler: "honour killing" of girls who shame their families by meeting boys without a chaperone
Eliza Madrigal: my daughter has a friend now, who was a child soldier in a South American country :( so yes... it isn't that we are entirely removed
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh my
    Wol Euler: oww
    Wol Euler: *wow
Bleu Oleander: btw, thanks for the Korea video link Eliza ... very interesting
Eliza Madrigal: very welcome, It was well done
stevenaia Michinaga: can you post a link?
    Eliza Madrigal: yes..seeking now...
Bleu Oleander: made me think about how easily a group can be deceived by a story
    Eliza Madrigal: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontl...f-north-korea/
Wol Euler shrugs and points to Jonesville and the koolaid.
Bleu Oleander: and how enlightening it is to realize what you're missing
Bleu Oleander: the courage of a few to shine a light
Eliza Madrigal: we all believe in some stories, live them out... even stories of family, hard work, goodness?
    Bleu Oleander: indeed
Agatha Macbeth: Stories make the world go round
Eliza Madrigal: it is sort of a turning point in a live to begin to live them consciously
    Eliza Madrigal: life*
Bleu Oleander: I think its life changing when one of our stories is shown to be false
    Eliza Madrigal nods...can be
Agatha Macbeth: End of the day people believe what they will
    --BELL--1315
Eliza Madrigal: I think we do have to be careful not to think that because we are seemingly more civilized or privileged, we automatically understand the views or stories that have come before our time, or are still playing out in our time on opposite sides of political spectrums etc
    Bleu Oleander: for sure
Eliza Madrigal: or maybe sophisticated is a better word that civilized
Eliza Madrigal: we have so much access now
Eliza Madrigal: to so many cultures and ideas
Eliza Madrigal: otherwise how could we question? what would be the base?
Bruce Mowbray: 's current display-name is "Bruce".
    Agatha Macbeth: Brucie :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Bruce :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Yay
Bleu Oleander: well somehow education is the answer but then one has to ask which education?
Bleu Oleander: hi Bruce ... loving your cushion :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Hello everyone!
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bleu Oleander: will give it back :)
Bruce Mowbray: Oh! I forgot I left it here!
    Agatha Macbeth grins
Bruce Mowbray: thank you for the nc!
    Bruce Mowbray reads.
    Agatha Macbeth: YW
Bleu Oleander: sorry, took to it right away :)
Agatha Macbeth: It's usually Aph who leaves stuff behind
Agatha Macbeth: (Or in the old days Boxy)
Eliza Madrigal: I need to go back to the exhibit and read note cards. I'm sure Adams came from far more angles than are rushing through my mindstream
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, take it all in
Bleu Oleander: takes a while to go through the show
Eliza Madrigal: hopefully will be up for a while
Bleu Oleander: looks like an amazing amount of work
Agatha Macbeth: I'm sure it will
Agatha Macbeth: I must say the mountain is pretty amazing
Agatha Macbeth: Adams is so good at this stuff
    Wol Euler nods.
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Xiri :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Xira :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Hola guapina
    Bleu Oleander: hi Xiri :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Great
Agatha Macbeth: Nice to see us on the map so to speak
Bruce Mowbray suddenly realizes he forgot all about the museum event today.
Bruce Mowbray: looks down at his hands.
Wol Euler: I can give you a transcript, bruce
Xirana Oximoxi: 's current display-name is "Xirana".
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, we missed you
Eliza Madrigal: :) pretty good example of the way Kira has always been important to PaB discussions
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh totally
Bruce Mowbray: please please do, Wol!
Agatha Macbeth: Shame the café isn't getting more use these days
Bleu Oleander: is anything going on there?
Agatha Macbeth: Only Max on Tuesdays
Eliza Madrigal: has she expressed an endpoint? she mentioned something in emails when we were doing surveys...
    Agatha Macbeth: Hope not
Bruce Mowbray: I sure hope not, too.
    stevenaia Michinaga: Max?
Agatha Macbeth: Without Dreams the café will be redundant :(
    Agatha Macbeth: Maxine
Eliza Madrigal: most Kira workshops were temporary
    stevenaia Michinaga: nods
Eliza Madrigal: but she did express sort of evaluating the time
Agatha Macbeth: No WoK or KISS anymore
Eliza Madrigal: would have been nice for WoK to morph
Eliza Madrigal: but couldn't really be WoK without Stim
    Wol Euler nods.
Agatha Macbeth: Think it pretty much bombed once Stim stopped coming
Agatha Macbeth: The transcripts are fun to read tho
    --BELL--1330
Eliza Madrigal: there is a really knowledgeable person about contemplative thought, giving talks in SL, named Chraeloos. She has something at 5 today
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh, Rhiannon's friend?
Wol Euler: 4am for me :( will there be transcripts?
Eliza Madrigal: have a LM for those interested, yes
Eliza Madrigal: not sure... I can't make it either
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I'm in her group... and she IS really knowledgeable.
Eliza Madrigal: but occasionally very astute people pop up
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bleu Oleander: just today or every sun at 5?
Agatha Macbeth: Thought she was into yoga and all that?
Eliza Madrigal: she has a pretty wide range
    Agatha Macbeth: Wow
    Agatha Macbeth: Interesting lady
Bruce Mowbray: she also has a blog....
Eliza Madrigal: I think her regular things are in inworldz now
    Agatha Macbeth rollseyes
    Bleu Oleander: under same name?
Eliza Madrigal shrugs... not sure what is going on
    Bleu Oleander: :)
Eliza Madrigal: yes I think so... let me see if I still have email
Eliza Madrigal: this is the SL notice: Join us at 5pmSLT Sunday as we begin exploring from the beginning of Japanese philosophical thought! Topics tonight: Buddhism and Confucianism - the main ideas Tea will be served. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlif...ach/197/190/51
Eliza Madrigal: now looking for other...
Wol Euler: heheh, I read that as "japanese photographic thought" and was getting really curious
Eliza Madrigal: hm, can't find the other email... maybe it was FB
Eliza Madrigal: lol Wol and I read your line as Japanese pornographic thought
Agatha Macbeth: Um, Ocarina Beach is a Japanese combat sim?
    Eliza Madrigal: lollol
    Wol Euler: heheheheh
    Agatha Macbeth: It says here
Wol Euler: well, now that you mention it.
    Eliza Madrigal: lol
    Agatha Macbeth: Triggers again see
    Agatha Macbeth: Thanks Liz
Eliza Madrigal: game of telephone... pretty much explains lots of stories around same key questions :)
    Wol Euler nods.
    Bleu Oleander: :)
Bruce Mowbray has visions of Tagame's art.
    Agatha Macbeth: Like phone sex?
Eliza Madrigal: well I suppose that's a telephone game :)
Eliza Madrigal: not the one I was thinking of though
Agatha Macbeth: 'Couldn't make out if it was a heavy breather or somebody with asthma'
stevenaia Michinaga: I must go, bye my friends
    Agatha Macbeth: Bye Steve
Eliza Madrigal: bye too quiet Stevie
    Agatha Macbeth: Too cute Stevie
    Bleu Oleander: bye steve
    Wol Euler: bye stevie
Bruce Mowbray: bye for now, Steve.
Agatha Macbeth: And on comes Berti :)
    Eliza Madrigal: brb
Agatha Macbeth: I keep wondering who Isabella is - fogetting it's Aph
    Bruce Mowbray: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gengoroh_Tagame
Agatha Macbeth: Gay BDSM erotic manga eh?
Bruce Mowbray: No milquetoast in that guy's stuff!
Agatha Macbeth: I love the Japanese
Bruce Mowbray: here's a notice from Berti!
Bruce Mowbray: to save the day, alas.
Agatha Macbeth: Bert is in da house (or soon will be)
Bruce Mowbray: Bert's meditation is an anchor point for my entire week.
    Wol Euler: same here
Agatha Macbeth: Starts the week off right
    Bruce Mowbray: nods and nods

Eliza Madrigal: I'm a little distressed that I no longer find meditations in SL relaxing :( I do like Bert's voice and intros... he is a great guide, setting the atmosphere
    Agatha Macbeth: How come?
Wol Euler: I'm sorry to hear that
Eliza Madrigal: I think it is SL in general
Eliza Madrigal: maybe just the way it is working with my current life pace
Bruce Mowbray listens carefully for more from Eliza.
Eliza Madrigal: no need... just an observation
Agatha Macbeth: I would have thought you need it more then :)
    --BELL--1345
Eliza Madrigal: :) true. Meditation yes
Agatha Macbeth: Quieten that mind of yours
Eliza Madrigal: am going away to a meditation event at beginning of August... hope it helps to submerge
    Wol Euler: lovely
Bruce Mowbray tries to slap his mind, fails.
    Agatha Macbeth: Hopefully yes
    Wol Euler: I am envious.
    Eliza Madrigal: lol Bruce
    Agatha Macbeth: A Liz retreat
Bruce Mowbray: it sounds wonderful, Eliza.
Bruce Mowbray: I wish you the very best, and am envious.
Eliza Madrigal: well it is a "dzogchen conference"... hope it is relaxing but who knows :)
    Eliza Madrigal: lol
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh my
Agatha Macbeth: Who let the dzogs out?
    Bruce Mowbray: AH, wonderful!
Eliza Madrigal: finally someone comes to my neck of the woods.. he looks like RL Storm, too
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Wol Euler smiles.
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe it IS him ;)
    Eliza Madrigal: maybe so!
    Eliza Madrigal: another alt
    Agatha Macbeth: Sneaky Stormy
Bruce Mowbray: Dzogchen is the grand view
Agatha Macbeth: View from the mountain?
    Bruce Mowbray: the highest, yes!
Eliza Madrigal: "first there was a mountain, then no mountain, then there was"
Agatha Macbeth: First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain, then there is
    Agatha Macbeth: Snap
    Eliza Madrigal: lol!
    Wol Euler: heheh
    Agatha Macbeth: Thus spake Donovan
Bruce Mowbray: first there was a view, then there was no view, then there was!
Eliza Madrigal: Thus spake Agatha... full of surprises she keeps under vest
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Agatha Macbeth looks down
Agatha Macbeth: I liked Hurdy gurdy man better tho
Bruce Mowbray: like Donovan, like Cat Stevens, each enlightened into being.
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah, old Yusuf
Bruce Mowbray: yes he is one of my heroes, for darn sure.
Eliza Madrigal: I really like Cat Stevens music... but find it hard to reconcile he was supposedly OK with fatwa against Rushdie?
Bruce Mowbray: I love his work, and his life.
Bruce Mowbray: I don't know anything about the fatwa stuff.
Bruce Mowbray: I suspect that was just PR from an alternate source.
Agatha Macbeth: Is Bleuji still with us? Strangely quiet
Eliza Madrigal: this was news to me, when he was inducted into music hall of fame
    Agatha Macbeth tickles Bleu's feet
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe looking for those purple cowboy boots :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Eliza Madrigal: to go with violets
    Agatha Macbeth: Yeh
Bruce Mowbray: I liken Cat and the fatwa stuff to "flaming fags" ---- perhaps going to outrageous extremes ( not their own, really) to make the point.
    Agatha Macbeth: 0.0
    Wol Euler raises an eyebrow.
Bleu Oleander: lol sorry back ... had a rl call
    Agatha Macbeth: Yay WB
    Bleu Oleander: ty!
Bruce Mowbray: and I will not even try to explain that.
Wol Euler: they made the point that he had to live in secret locations with bodyguard for ... how many years?
Bleu Oleander: what did I miss? hehe
    Agatha Macbeth: Who Rushdie?
Wol Euler: yes of course rushdie, not bloody stevens
    Bruce Mowbray: Salman Rushdie.
    Eliza Madrigal: http://bookhaven.stanford.edu/2010/1...a-yusuf-islam/
Eliza Madrigal: a link for later
Agatha Macbeth: Well he's an arrogrant prat (Rushdie), he should have known better
Bruce Mowbray: for sure. and thank you Eliza.
Bruce Mowbray: monasteries can do these things you know......
Agatha Macbeth: I think monasteries have much to be said for them
Eliza Madrigal: it seems a day of trying to reconcile contradictions
    Bleu Oleander: :)
Bruce Mowbray: listen to his art; listen to his truth,,,, in the music and the words. there it is!
    Wol Euler practices Metta.
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bruce Mowbray: I'm going to move on to Bertie's now. Thank you each and all.
Eliza Madrigal: have a lovely meditation everyone
    Agatha Macbeth: Yeh, that time
    Wol Euler nods.
    Bleu Oleander: take care all
Eliza Madrigal: ...these boots are made for walkin...
    Wol Euler: goodnight, non-attenders
    Wol Euler: enjoy the evening
    Agatha Macbeth: TC kiddywinks
    Bleu Oleander: enjoy
