Wol Euler: oh, I asked my sister, and she + BIL did go to the Expo while they were in Milan :) they loved it
Qt Core: lately RL conspired against my presence on saturday and monday mornings ;-)
Wol Euler: oops

Wol Euler: damn that RL, it's so intrusive

Qt Core: many are asking when we will get another and considering the previous one in Milan was in 1906 people are starting to rush to see it, big numbers in past weeks
Wol Euler: every 109 years? a tradition!
Qt Core: i really think it may start an expo tourism trend, going to Astana in Kazakhstan in 2017 and in Dubai in 2020
Qt Core: don;t know if i will but it would be nice
Wol Euler nods.

Qt Core: Astana seems to get it right making the site round, it should minimize walking distance and they will have an 80 meter radius sphere as the iconic build
Wol Euler: that was fairly common a century or so ago
Wol Euler: ah, nice idea, especially the walking
Qt Core: Dubai is building it 350 km from Dubai and will build a TGV railroad from scratch for it

Qt Core: (or at least that is the craziness i've read)

Wol Euler: I wonder what the site and the railroad will be used for, one day after taht expo closes?
Qt Core: don't know about Dubai, for Astana they already planned to convert in into a finantial center
Qt Core: while we in Italy don't have the palest idea about it yet
Qt Core: i think we are stillsurprosed we mada it work ;-)

Qt Core: with that typing i'm quite surprised i did well at the local library english test (so see which of the offered courses i could do if i ever got the logistic for it)

Wol Euler: I had great ambitions for doing evening classes etc, when I came to Germany. I haven't done a damn thing. Most of my evenings disappear in work anyway.
Qt Core: i just can make it work around having dinner myself and making dinner for others
Wol Euler nods.
Qt Core: and the saddest part is that that library is 3 minute walk from home (and i know about another place with many courses a 3 minute drive from work too
Qt Core: but then i'm lazy (or i would have found something online)
Wol Euler raises an eyebrow.

Wol Euler: going out to do something is less lazy than staying indoors for it?
Qt Core: i think, it have more time constraints i think, especially if the online thing is asynchronous not in real time

Qt Core: even if that would mean using a mic and probably even buy a webcam ;-)

Wol Euler: they are both fairly common and cheap these days
Qt Core: yes, even if mic and printers ever were my tech Achilles heel (take me almost 30 years to have one that worked without a war)

Qt Core: i'm still amazed about how well most things you can attach to a usb port work... and that make me feel a little old too ;-)

Qt Core: yes, some times ago i read an article asking what the little black square icon commonly used for saving a document means ;-)
Wol Euler: ha!
Qt Core: now i should only add that i when went to school it was 20 km under the snow and it was uphill both way ;-)
Wol Euler: and the wolves chased you through the forest
Qt Core: for all kindergarten and first several years of schooling i was one of the nearest to the school... and i was still able to be late
