    Riddle Sideways: Hi Korel
Bleu Oleander: 's current display-name is "Bleu".
    Korel Laloix: Osiyo.
    Korel Laloix: brb. at work.
    Bleu Oleander: hiya
    Riddle Sideways: k
Riddle Sideways: just watching Bleu re-sit over and over
    Bleu Oleander: adjusting :)
    Riddle Sideways: aren't we all
    Bleu Oleander: poses are adjustable
    Bleu Oleander: lol
    Bleu Oleander: hopefully
Korel Laloix: This is my fave pose so far in here.
Bleu Oleander: I like that one too
Korel Laloix: Just need to figure out which one it is... smiles
    Bleu Oleander: :)

Riddle Sideways: Well, got no topics, great questions nor deep thoughts right now
Riddle Sideways: happy to just sit
    Riddle Sideways: virtually

Bleu Oleander: we had a salon on "character" last night with an evolutionary social psychologist
Bleu Oleander: could talk about that?
    Riddle Sideways: sure
    Korel Laloix: Please do
Bleu Oleander: what defines someone who has character for you?
Riddle Sideways: seems all individuals would have character
Riddle Sideways: some better than others
Bleu Oleander: yes, but in the sense of a positive comment about someone
Korel Laloix: That is a concept I still don't understand in English.
    Bleu Oleander: there are "characters"
Bleu Oleander: and there is general "character"
                   --BELL--
Bleu Oleander: and then there is a compliment "that person has character" use
Bleu Oleander: it was this last meaning that we discussed
Bleu Oleander: trust was a big factor
Bleu Oleander: positive interactions with the community another
    Bleu Oleander: integrity
Bleu Oleander: seemed stability in those qualities was important
Bleu Oleander: what do you think?
Riddle Sideways: seems to have cut a lot of the negative characters out
Riddle Sideways: and left only a few
Korel Laloix: This is the thing for me though... people that I hear get described as having character... tend to be people that I would not trust in anyway...
Bleu Oleander: hmmm I would never say someone has character if I didn't trust them
    Bleu Oleander: but you're right
Korel Laloix: Like politicians or university professors.
Bleu Oleander: said often of politicians I think in the hopes that we'll believe it lol
Bleu Oleander: we were talking about from your viewpoint, what traits does someone need to have for you to say someone has character?
Korel Laloix: So I think character maybe one of those words that only has agendaed use.
Bleu Oleander: I think you can say someone has character and mean it though
Bleu Oleander: but when we hear others use it, you're right, we should be caucious
Korel Laloix: Or maybe there is just a huge difference between the public use and private use?
Bleu Oleander: yes I think so
Bleu Oleander: when media uses it for sure an agenda!
Riddle Sideways: people who have Character stand up for what they believe
Riddle Sideways: however that might not be what an I believe
    Bleu Oleander: yes, that's true
Korel Laloix: Not to dive deep in the political.. but our last three presidents I would not trust with my used bubble gum... and yet, a different picture is painted in the news.
Bleu Oleander: depends on which news
    Korel Laloix: True.
Bleu Oleander: I'm not sure we can trust anyone we don't have personal experience with ... we're only taking someone else's word if we don't know them
Bleu Oleander: we judge them by their actions and we know about their actions through the media :)
Bleu Oleander: it was an interesting conversation ... quite lively
Korel Laloix: It sounds like a nintersting topic for sure...
Korel Laloix: Would be interesting to me on a couple of different levels I think.
Korel Laloix: One of the better things about SL as I say.
Riddle Sideways: so we judge their Character by the media that we don't trust?
                   --BELL--
    Riddle Sideways: that seems faulty
    Bleu Oleander: right? :)
Bleu Oleander: I think we put too much trust in the media
Korel Laloix: I think maybe it is a word that people use when they want to sell someone to us... and I guess I just dn't buy the advertisement.
Riddle Sideways: was supposed to be that we could trust media to be impratical
    Riddle Sideways: impartial
Bleu Oleander: I think impartial is a fiction
    Riddle Sideways: probably
Bleu Oleander: back to work .. take care
    Riddle Sideways: k
Korel Laloix: I read recently that in the US at least, we trust the media about the same as much as we do politicians and used care salesmen.... within the margin of error evidently.
    Riddle Sideways: seems about true
Riddle Sideways: there are nearly 20 people running toward president
Riddle Sideways: don't trust any of them
Riddle Sideways: there are maybe 20 media sources, repeating (but changing/editorizing) the same stuff
Korel Laloix: There are a couple that I trust... but to me that words means that I think they say what they mean.
Korel Laloix: Not that I like what they are saying.

Korel Laloix: OK.. back to work.
    Riddle Sideways: ok
Korel Laloix: Thanks for the chat.
    Riddle Sideways: yep, thanks
