Wol Euler: awfully busy. workig yesterday and today as soon as the session ends
Wol Euler: for a presentation tomorrow noon

Korel Laloix: Actually getting a weekend at home with little to do for the first time in months... so lovely.
Wol Euler: nice!
Wol Euler: I'm envious
Korel Laloix: I think we will be back in our normal frenzy next weekend though... smiles
Wol Euler: I see your hair has grown back in, I hope this means that RL is healthy again too
Korel Laloix: Yes, after the wreck I had my hair made into a wig for the wedding, so just kept shaving it until that was done. Now growing back.

Korel Laloix: But can't find a nice short hair that I like.... so just using this one I have from a cople of years ago.
Korel Laloix: Think I am going to do another AV update soon. Yea shopping...

Korel Laloix: In the past I have always had issues finding a dark skin that does not look black... so will see what is out there now.

Qt Core: yesterday i had a sudden impulse to spend money, rl money, luckily i wasn't near a shop or my pc
Wol Euler laughs.

Korel Laloix: So you did not buy us anything?
Qt Core: no, >:-)
Wol Euler: ah well
Korel Laloix smiles.. we are still sorting gifts from the wedding.
Korel Laloix: At least we got all of our thank yous done.
Wol Euler: ah :) a nice activity
Wol Euler: what was your favourite present (so far)?
Korel Laloix: Good question...
Korel Laloix: A friend of Sama's father gave us a nice old writing desk that he refinished.
Wol Euler: sounds good
Korel Laloix: Not sure were we will put it when it gets up here though, but it is really wonderful.
Korel Laloix: We did not ask for much, more for donations to certain causes, but people still found things they wanted us to have it seems.
Wol Euler nods.

Qt Core: even if they sound a little sad wedding list keeps you from getting items in multiples, useless things and things you can't manage at all
Wol Euler: oh they are definitely a good idea in my opinion
Qt Core: the sad part is mostly about not getting surprises ;-)
Korel Laloix: We had a registry, but people ignored it... smiles.. we asked for 24 sets of our china pattern and ended up with 55.
Wol Euler: ha
Korel Laloix: So still deciding on how much we want to take back.
Qt Core: and the even sadder part is when someone (from both side of the thing) think that how much you spend in it is a measure of your friendship with the ones marrying
Wol Euler nods.
Korel Laloix: There was that, but the really uncomfortable part was business associates of Sama's dad giving things more targeted at Sama's parents more than us.
Qt Core: that also seems more stupid than sad ...
Wol Euler: that is odd
Korel Laloix: Sama does not play golf and she got a set of clubs. Odd is a good word.
Wol Euler laughs.
Wol Euler: perhaps it is a hint or a wish ...

Korel Laloix: But most of it was great and meant well... Just sort of strange emotions around the whole thing.
Wol Euler: my cousin's favourite wedding present was a fullsize canoe :)
Korel Laloix: Was not expecting this, but the whole gift giving thing sort of tainted the event for me.
Korel Laloix: Oh that sounds fun.
Wol Euler: well I'm soryy to hear that
Korel Laloix: I understand it, but it was a bit too much.
Korel Laloix: But then again, I did not grow up getting gifts, so even small ones are strange to me in ways.
Qt Core: i hope bout spouses love using that canoe or at least that one not using it accept it ;-)
Wol Euler: oh yes they are both avid campers
Wol Euler nods to Korel.
Wol Euler: it can take some getting used to :)
Korel Laloix: I am trying to get Sama to go camping a bit more... not her style... smiles
Qt Core: maybe starting with one day trekking, starting from home or an hotel
Korel Laloix: She likes hiking and being outdoors... just the whole tent thing, or sleeping out on the ground.
Qt Core: i agree with her ;-)
Korel Laloix: That is the part that she does not like.
Korel Laloix: If I can get the time off, I still intend to do my one week solo camping trip this year... but would be lovely is she wanted to come along.
Wol Euler: hehehehe

Wol Euler: have it near a hotel?
Qt Core: i went camping as a kid, spent most of the time with a nasty eye infection, i know that they are not related but left me in not friendly term with tents
Wol Euler laughs
Wol Euler: I've actually been camping with those cousins (in that canoe) a few times
Korel Laloix: Sounds reasonable though... I just love being outside and isolated for a bit... good to clear your head.
Wol Euler: we paddled and portaged to a small lake and camped there, caught our own dinner
Wol Euler: (portage = carrying your canoe and gear from one lake/river across land to another)
Qt Core: depending on canoe weight it seems not fun ;-)
Wol Euler: it's part of the experience :)
Wol Euler: like rain and mosquitoes
Korel Laloix: That could be fun.... if I got to stay in the canoe while they carried it.... smiles

Korel Laloix: Well, I am not getting sleepy at all, so think I will go run.

Qt Core: yes, it is, i went to the park on past sunday at 18 instead of 7/8... too many people around you have to keep avoiding running/cycling into them and can't just move and void your head

Qt Core: i tried a couple time 6am, it's nice and you get to see a few rabbit here and there, but 5am, no thanks ;-)

Wol Euler: though I did have a spell of going for a walk at sunrise
Qt Core: i like the light around but not so much the low sun in my eyes
Qt Core: one of the few thinks i dislike about my job is its location, northeast from home = sun in my eyes both way
