Eden Haiku: How are you this morning?
    Adams Rubble pants
    Eden Haiku: sighs

Eden Haiku: Good morning Eliza :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Mornin'!

    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eden Haiku: Speelting is quite an art :)
Riddle Sideways: and often done badry
Eden Haiku: There is a crack in every word
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Adams Rubble: we are living in a world of fake speelting
Eden Haiku: That's where the light comes in
    Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: face cat has found a way to block typing
    Eden Haiku: Face cate speelting..
Riddle Sideways: going to blam speepting on cat
Eliza Madrigal: strike that, reverse it? haha
Eliza Madrigal: typing cat blocking face...
    Riddle Sideways: fake cat
    Eliza Madrigal laughs
Riddle Sideways: that would be George
Riddle Sideways: George is Fake Cat
    Eliza Madrigal: sometimes indeed
Eliza Madrigal loves how George comes to PaB all the time
Eden Haiku: George is always welcome :)
Eliza Madrigal: trying to figure out formula of twitter before meditation, or after... when starting the day. Today was before, then med. with George... now here.
Eliza Madrigal: various things to process... but meditation helps to switch gearsafter taking note.
Riddle Sideways: are the tweets that important?
    Riddle Sideways: writing or reading?
Eliza Madrigal: It has become a productive avenue... reading mostly.
Eliza Madrigal: appreciating a few beautiful photos :)
    Eden Haiku: :)
Riddle Sideways: twitter your dream journal?
Eliza Madrigal: journal before getting up :)à

    An article about Second Life

Eden Haiku: Loved the article from the Atlantic you posted on Twitter about Second Life Eliza. It's a long article though. I'm still not finished reading it...
Eden Haiku: Tried to locate it during the pause...Pleads guilty bell, sorry.
Eliza Madrigal: It is a good article, but I wish so hard that the person writing had a bit more heart investment
Eden Haiku: Yes, she keeps her distance...

    --BELL--

Eliza Madrigal: 'outsider view' and 'insider view' are so different
    Eden Haiku: Judgemental
Eliza Madrigal nods... ever so slightly condescending
Eliza Madrigal: and yet, not disagreeing either
Eliza Madrigal: so, interesting lines in that ense
    Eliza Madrigal: sense*
Eliza Madrigal: let me find it...
Eden Haiku: Another article to read Riddle :)
    Eliza Madrigal: or skim
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eden Haiku: Though you don't have to: your own experience of SL is maybe enough :)
    Eliza Madrigal: quite true
Riddle Sideways: Oh good, more todo
Eden Haiku: How long have you been in Second Life?
Eliza Madrigal: but here it is for reference anyway: https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2017/12/second-life-leslie-jamison/544149/?utm_source=feed
Eden Haiku: Thank you Eliza :)
    Eliza Madrigal: yw :)
    Eliza Madrigal listens
Riddle Sideways: don't give link... just found Atlantic has 1,234 articles to read
    Eden Haiku: hehe
    Riddle Sideways: ty Google
Bleu Oleander: 's current display-name is "Bleu".
    Eliza Madrigal: Morning Bleu :)
    Bleu Oleander: hi earlybirds
    Riddle Sideways: howdee Bleu
Adams Rubble: Good morning Bleu :)
Riddle Sideways: da sun is up
Eden Haiku: Good morning blue Bleu :)
Riddle Sideways: Oh! prolly was not supposed to read it now ㋡
    Eliza Madrigal: right
Eden Haiku: We were talking about an article about Second Life on the Atlantic.
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: very long, quite a few small examples of second lives
Riddle Sideways: use to be said "in The Atlantic"  [ editor is giggling ]
Riddle Sideways: now it is "on"
Eliza Madrigal: but always the centerpiece is the materialistic aspect of people wanting yachts and pools, which, seems a really small portion of people to me?
Eliza Madrigal: I don't think empty fancy doll houses keep anyone in SL :::Grumbles:::, which doesn't mean it isn't a "good" article ... from business view I think mostly
Riddle Sideways: so many don't even have land
    Eliza Madrigal nods
    Eden Haiku: yes
Bleu Oleander: actuallyI do think there are many who like to "feel" that they can have those things, if only virtually
Eliza Madrigal: it just doesn't seem a sustaining reason to me... maybe I'm wrong
Bleu Oleander: certainly the "shopping" is an attractive aspect to a lot
Eliza Madrigal: but shopping for who, for what...
Bleu Oleander: well, maybe not to us ... :)
Riddle Sideways: why desire a huge yacht when all you need is a sprinkler
    Eliza Madrigal grins
    Bleu Oleander: ha!
Eden Haiku: I used to know a few people out of PaB. Not anymore, so I'm not aware of these materialistic desires much...
Adams Rubble: I know, in real life (whatever that is), everyone wants yachts and pool s and land and go around telling fake news stories
    Eliza Madrigal: :)) Adams
Bleu Oleander: same in sl :)
    Riddle Sideways: ㋡
    Eden Haiku: :0
    Eden Haiku: Greediness...
Bleu Oleander: sl is surprisingly like rl
    Riddle Sideways: the Amerikan dream
Eliza Madrigal:I can't really wear a big flamenco dress around town
    Eliza Madrigal: in RL
    Eden Haiku: You don't Eliza?
    Adams Rubble: I can't either
Eliza Madrigal: not yet Eden, hahah
Eden Haiku: On Monday mornings, wear flamenco dresses ?
Bleu Oleander: you could if you wanted to ha!

    Virtual clothes

Bleu in blue and Eliza in a flamenco dress

Riddle Sideways: read an article on how High Fidelity shopping experience is better than SL
    Eliza Madrigal: oh?
Riddle Sideways: you try on things first
    Eden Haiku: HF?
Bleu Oleander: so a question might be, why do you want to wear it in sl?
    Riddle Sideways: edit, adjust
Eliza Madrigal: ohhh, that does sound nice
Riddle Sideways: then pay with credit card
    Riddle Sideways: like a store
Eden Haiku: Real clothes Riddle or SL clothing?
    Riddle Sideways:virtual clothes
    Eden Haiku: Ah!
Riddle Sideways: one of the founders of SL has started a new virtual world platform
    Eden Haiku: oh!
Riddle Sideways: more based on VR gear
Eliza Madrigal: hm, good question Bleu. I guess that does hit the base feeling or question about materialism... stretching resources and capacity via imagination, trying more things, taking tangents further
    Bleu Oleander: yes
Bleu Oleander:sl is a good medium to push limits
Bleu Oleander: too many just duplicate rl
Eliza Madrigal: "if you could, what would you?"
    Bleu Oleander: yep
Eliza Madrigal: answer: I don't know, let's see a little
Eden Haiku: I would love to TP in RL :)
    Eliza Madrigal: ^.^
Bleu Oleander: if I could I'd look like this in rl LOL
    Eliza Madrigal: hahha
    Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: you would look Fabbbullllous Darling

    --BELL--

So much to do, so little time

Bleu Oleander: we've had some body painting artists do salons that have come close
    Eliza Madrigal: such a talent
Riddle Sideways: nice pause to remember all the body painting scenes ...
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
    Bleu Oleander: :)
Eliza Madrigal: do you have a VR viewer Riddle, apart from the cardboard one you mentioned (which I still haven't tried)? I wonder how close they are to being really usable now
Bleu Oleander: they are being used now
Riddle Sideways: no. that market is changeing too fast
    Bleu Oleander: yep
Eliza Madrigal: that's how it feels to me too
Eden Haiku: Still haven't open the cardboard viewer box I ordered 2 or 3 years ago...
Riddle Sideways:the (very expensive) Occulus is useable right now
Riddle Sideways: and there are a couple hand controllers
Eliza Madrigal: I've taken my son to try the vibe (?)
Eliza Madrigal: and a few other things... they used to make him more ill
Eden Haiku: On your letter to Santa Claus Riddle?
Eliza Madrigal: so maybe a little progress
    Riddle Sideways: yep,
Riddle Sideways: many vids re: High Fidelity out there
Eliza Madrigal: there was a blog post, bryn oh maybe... who envisioned people still making 'home' in SL, but going on adventures in the VR worlds
Adams Rubble: so much to do, so little time
    Bleu Oleander: :(
    Riddle Sideways: yes, Adams
Eden Haiku: Yes Adams, that is so true...
Eliza Madrigal: SL used to feel like it stretched time resources too
    Adams Rubble nods
Bleu Oleander: sl gobbles up time
Riddle Sideways: your 'home' would be hosted on your machine at home
    Eden Haiku: Oh?
Riddle Sideways: and you'd go elsewhere to visit others
Riddle Sideways: a huge distributed network
    Eden Haiku: Elsewhere where?
Bleu Oleander: did you read "ready player one"?
Bleu Oleander: coming out soon in movies
Eliza Madrigal: hm, no haven't heard of that
    Eden Haiku: Neither I
Bleu Oleander: really? you will ha!
Riddle Sideways: nope, not heard... adds to list
    Bleu Oleander: interesting
Riddle Sideways: have to finish the 4 volume si-fi book now
    Bleu Oleander: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LiK2fhOY0nE
    Riddle Sideways: ty
Eliza Madrigal: ty Bleu, looks a bit transormers-y
Riddle Sideways: have been watching (too many) youtubes of AI which bash Hollywood for Fake AI
    Riddle Sideways: hmmmm transnormers
