Adams Rubble: nice to see grassland in SL

Riddle Sideways: this laptop needs less view distance to be stable

Adams Rubble: I crashed earlier this morning

Riddle Sideways: and fixed up the welcome center area

    Riddle Sideways: Ahhhh, those
Riddle Sideways: very peaceful rolling landscapes

    Back to the End

Adams Rubble: the past few days I have been wondering about starting at the end
Adams Rubble: for some reason or the other
    Riddle Sideways: yet looking back
Riddle Sideways: there is that aspect
Adams Rubble: I did that for the blog entry
    Adams Rubble: looking back
Riddle Sideways: here at the end
    Riddle Sideways: looking back
    Riddle Sideways: a bit
Adams Rubble: thought after ten years there might be something to see
Riddle Sideways: yes, looking over a shoulder, thinking there might be something to see
Riddle Sideways: had a recent dream.
Adams Rubble: it would have been interesting if I could have seen what I know now ten years ago
    Adams Rubble listens
Riddle Sideways: at first was trying to remember the dream for the journal
    Riddle Sideways: in the morning
Riddle Sideways: then it was only the very end remembered
Riddle Sideways: was at the end of dream
Riddle Sideways: how did the beginning go or the middle?
Riddle Sideways: slipping on darn pebbly sandy path and falling
Riddle Sideways: why on that path?
    Adams Rubble: paths are dangerous
Riddle Sideways: or was maybe TP-ed right there
    Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: no memory of walking up the mountain
Riddle Sideways: just starting at the end?
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: you just made me realize something
    Riddle Sideways: /listens
Adams Rubble: during the last ten years, I have not been on a path
Adams Rubble: I have stayed right where i started
Adams Rubble: no rhyme or reason to any changes in me
    Adams Rubble: shhhhh
    --BELL--

Riddle crashed and came back a little while after the pause. SL was a little unstable ths morning. We pick up discussing paths.

    Adams Rubble: wb Riddle :)
Riddle Sideways: the predicted crash happened
Adams Rubble: I crashed earlier this morning
Riddle Sideways: and was trying to listen to you :(
Adams Rubble: ohhh, what was the last thing you heard?
Riddle Sideways: missing a story of 'no path'
Adams Rubble: [07:27] Adams Rubble: during the last ten years, I have not been on a path [07:27] Adams Rubble: I have stayed right where i started [07:27] PaB Bell: 90 second pause. Please be silent in mindfulness. [07:28] Adams Rubble: no rhyme or reason to any changes in me\
    Riddle Sideways: really?
Adams Rubble: nothing earth shattering but if I have been on a path, it did not go very far
Riddle Sideways: think that is really true?
Adams Rubble: I think of a path as being organized
    Riddle Sideways: oh
Riddle Sideways: so, the path was not the way you planned it
Adams Rubble: I have meandered between PaB, Buddhism, Christianity and lots of other traditions and non-traditions
Riddle Sideways: the way you painted it?
    Adams Rubble: nope
Riddle Sideways: and had you stayed the straight and narrow path?

I missed this comment by Riddle. The time spent has been anything but straight and narrow :).  I missed some of the following comment as well. I guess much of the source of this discussion for me were the expectations of dramatic change I had ten years ago.

Riddle Sideways: would you have seen and been who you now are?

Adams Rubble: of course I was taught by Pema that there was no path :)
Adams Rubble: I am a slightly better person now :)
Riddle Sideways: and that you Can Not dictate the paths windings
Adams Rubble: I learned to be wary of boxes and containers
    Riddle Sideways: hmmm
Adams Rubble: for some reasons I thought of the cowboy song "Don't fence me in"
Riddle Sideways: yes, a way of singing it
Adams Rubble: (one for Riddle's tabs)
Riddle Sideways: ha, however, nice things can come in boxes
Adams Rubble: yes as long as it isn't oneself
Riddle Sideways: just don't stay in one box too long. fall asleep. like the cats do
    Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: sorry, so many distractions just happened
Riddle Sideways: a mind is a terrible thing to let fly
Adams Rubble: a mataphor for the past ten years
Adams Rubble: yes to the flying mind
Riddle Sideways: a mind is a wonderious thing to let fly
    Adams Rubble giggles
Riddle Sideways: once again... it depends on YOUR point of view
Adams Rubble: Buddhists think the mind needs rigorous training
    Adams Rubble: boot camp
Riddle Sideways: whip it into shape
Adams Rubble: no one really knows do they
Riddle Sideways: no out of box thoughts
    Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: some tell you they know
    Adams Rubble: yes
Riddle Sideways: and want money for it
    Adams Rubble: oh them
    Adams Rubble: yes
    Riddle Sideways: or the others
    --BELL--
Riddle Sideways: the ones that think they have been on the Great journey
Riddle Sideways: and have learned what you should know
    Adams Rubble: the great path
Riddle Sideways: yes, 'They' know the great path
Riddle Sideways: and you don't need to walk those miles
Riddle Sideways: They will tell you
    Adams Rubble: Hummvee
    Riddle Sideways: yes
Riddle Sideways: Yet, you have been to the End
Adams Rubble: depends what the end is
    Riddle Sideways: yes it do
Adams Rubble: my mind hurts :)
Riddle Sideways: and nobody going to tell you what it is
Riddle Sideways: does it hurt from ?
    Riddle Sideways: expansion?

Our pandora's box opens and out fly all the box metaphors

Riddle Sideways: being in or out of some box?
    Adams Rubble: no, not that
    Riddle Sideways: the untraining
    Adams Rubble: ahhh, the box
    Riddle Sideways: or the Path
Riddle Sideways: or the many Paths
    Adams Rubble: hehe, all that
Riddle Sideways: the Path less seen
Adams Rubble: but you hit something with the box
Adams Rubble: seeing all the paths, end, etc from the vantage point of a box
    Riddle Sideways: yes
Adams Rubble: I am still building myself boxes
Riddle Sideways: mindcraft and SL are good metaphors
    Riddle Sideways: little boxes
Adams Rubble: don't know about mindcraft but SL can go both ways
Riddle Sideways: the you change into you
Adams Rubble: yes putting on Adams and Riddle
    Adams Rubble: going to pavilion
    Riddle Sideways: hearing a gong
Adams Rubble: if you have your sound on
Riddle Sideways: they were once wooden cubes - boxes
    Riddle Sideways: then destinations
Riddle Sideways: then a big box
Riddle Sideways: in the box ... out of the box
Adams Rubble: hmmm, lots of thoughts
Adams Rubble: trying to find ready made answers is putting oneself in a box
Riddle Sideways: and what else was the mind going to do
    Adams Rubble: hehe
    Adams Rubble still giggling
Riddle Sideways: sometimes it is nice to visit the store of ready made answers
    Riddle Sideways: to window shop
Riddle Sideways: thinking Adams has done that
Adams Rubble: brb--it is OK if you have to go
    Riddle Sideways: worn many coats
    Riddle Sideways: soon
    --BELL--
    Adams Rubble: back
    Riddle Sideways: wb
Adams Rubble: but we did start at the end because we are here where we started
    Riddle Sideways: yes!!!! :)
Riddle Sideways: and the band plays
Adams Rubble: yes, what is it playing
    Adams Rubble: yesterday?
Riddle Sideways: ticker tapes are dropping
Riddle Sideways: the parade in your honor
    Riddle Sideways: 76 trombones
    Adams Rubble: ohhh
Adams Rubble is grateful for the music and the parade and ticky taps but ...
Riddle Sideways: always sticking your butt in there

    Gratefulness and Accidental Grace

Adams Rubble: we can be grateful we are still here (at the end or wherever)
Riddle Sideways: yes, can always be Grateful
Riddle Sideways: Grateful for so much
Adams Rubble: yes, thank God for gratefulness
Riddle Sideways: not sure of "Full of Grace" tho
    Riddle Sideways: personally
Adams Rubble: hmmm have we ever made Grace a PaB topic?
    Riddle Sideways: not sure
Riddle Sideways: need to research and get back on that
    Riddle Sideways: maybe next week
Adams Rubble: I have never thought much about grace
    Adams Rubble hums Amazing Grace
Riddle Sideways: oh, just corrected it to Grateful = Full of Grate
Adams Rubble: ohhh, it is a Christian term
Riddle Sideways: or is that Great
Adams Rubble: Grace. noun 1. simple elegance or refinement of movement. "she moved through the water with effortless grace" synonyms: elegance, poise, gracefulness, finesse; More
    2. (in Christian belief) the free and unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings.
verb 1. do honor or credit to (someone or something) by one's presence.
Riddle Sideways: "Grace" not grate, as a mind here went off on
Adams Rubble: that was a conversation stopper
    Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: mouth was running over and then stopped
Adams Rubble: grateful = mid 16th century: from obsolete grate ‘pleasing, agreeable, thankful’ (from Latin gratus ) + -ful.
    Adams Rubble: gratitude
    --BELL--
Riddle Sideways: oh, thank you. that is nice
Adams Rubble: "grace" is from the same source :)
Riddle Sideways: from the same well. at the end of a path
    Riddle Sideways: in the woods
    Riddle Sideways: in the box
Riddle Sideways: thankful that the Lindens made the box pretty
Adams Rubble: wow, methinks Grace is in the Christian box but otherwise Grace is out of the box
Adams Rubble: Being is out of the box
Adams Rubble: Being is the Box
Riddle Sideways: seeing grate fly out of the Box to be free
Adams Rubble: Being is the Box of Boxes
Adams Rubble: Being is being free of boxes
Riddle Sideways: the Great Box Being
Adams Rubble: ahhh, now the connection to SL
Adams Rubble: we can play as Being
Adams Rubble: we can play in SL
Adams Rubble: we can play as human beings in SL
    Riddle Sideways: virtually
    Adams Rubble: yes!
Adams Rubble: virtual. late 14c., "influencing by physical virtues or capabilities, effective with respect to inherent natural qualities," from Medieval Latin virtualis, from Latin virtus "excellence, potency, efficacy," literally "manliness, manhood" (see virtue). The meaning "being something in essence or effect, though not actually or in fact" is from mid-15c., probably via sense of "capable of producing a certain effect" (early 15c.). Computer sense of "not physically existing but made to appear by software" is attested from 1959.
Adams Rubble adds that we can be virtually woman too :)
Riddle Sideways: yes, written before woman
Adams Rubble: nothing was written before women :)
    Riddle Sideways: giggles
Adams Rubble: well maybe that is a wrap
Adams Rubble: thank you for the conversation this morning :)
Riddle Sideways: having soared the grate heights, they went to collect the garbage and recycling to put by the virtual curb
    Adams Rubble: curb your garbage
Riddle Sideways: for somebody else to clean up
Adams Rubble: ohhhh. well, we can be grateful for their service
Riddle Sideways: have your grate day, friend
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: you too Riddle :)
    Riddle Sideways: bye
    Adams Rubble: bye :)
