The guardian at this meeting was Sky Szimmer standing in for Caledonia. The comments are Pema Pera's.

That afternoon, Sky was the guardian, standing in for Caledonia. Sky and Stim happen to know each other in RL, but somehow have been visiting the tea house at different times of the day, mostly.

    Sky Szimmer: Hi Stim!!!!!
    Stim Morane: Hi Sky!
Sky Szimmer: So thrilled to see you!
    Stim Morane: is anyone inside?
Sky Szimmer: Let me take that back, this is the first time to meet Stim
Stim Morane: yes, I guess it may be.
Sky Szimmer: no, not that I know of. But I didn’t check the tea house
Stim Morane: I’ll take a look
Stim Morane: you’re right, no one there
Sky Szimmer: I didnt think so but it is good to check
    Sky Szimmer: How are things?
Stim Morane: well it’s nice to sit in this garden
Sky Szimmer: yes. indeed. Dakini did an excellent job
    Stim Morane: yes
Sky Szimmer: I have been much suprised by the advances of animation
Sky Szimmer: have you been checking in to PaB ?
    Stim Morane: sometimes
Sky Szimmer: Yes. I think i maybe addicted a bit
    Sky Szimmer: : )
    Stim Morane: is that bad?
    Sky Szimmer: not sure.
Sky Szimmer: gives me something to do
Sky Szimmer: sometimes exchanges in RL is quite enough, let alone adding more to that
    Stim Morane: yes
Stim Morane: I actually have no experience of the larger environment and activities in second life.
Stim Morane: I should fix that
    Sky Szimmer: me too.
Stim Morane: Do you know of a way of getting a list of all the activities in second life?
Sky Szimmer: no. but in the book pema suggested, there are some listed
Sky Szimmer: activites like sky diving, swimming, scuba, etcl
Stim Morane: Yes, I forgot about that.
Sky Szimmer: thought I’d check it out at some point
Sky Szimmer: maybe a good diversion since I can’t do much of that in RL now

The conversation shifted from SL to PaB.

Stim Morane: Right. So what have you been learning here in this “play as being” group?
Sky Szimmer: this forum has given me an opportunity to talk about practice a bit since I haven’t been able to get to your sessions
Sky Szimmer: what I have learned?
Sky Szimmer: well, I have a very good intellectual understanding of all this stuff but not much else
Stim Morane: Well, perhaps I shouldn’t have asked that.
Sky Szimmer: no not at all
Sky Szimmer: so how do I get beyond the intellectual understanding
Stim Morane: I was really just curious about your impressions of the new situation here in second life
Stim Morane: as for the “getting beyond”, I look forward to everyones’ insights about that
Sky Szimmer: It was really impressive at first. it made RL surreal like
Stim Morane: Yes, other participants have mentioned that to me too.
Sky Szimmer: see there is no getting beyond. that is just where my understanding falters.
Sky Szimmer: i get it if I think more, but then it got no depth

I had to smile reading this, seeing how Sky tends to short change herself. I am not the only one who has found quite a bit of depth in her understanding and insight, when talking with her! At this point Spiritnoname walked in.

    Spiritnoname Saphir: hello
    Stim Morane: Hi Spirit
Stim Morane: I like your glow
    Spiritnoname Saphir: thanks :p
    Stim Morane: have a seat
    Sky Szimmer: hi Spirit
    Spiritnoname Saphir: hello :p
Sky Szimmer: have you been here before?
    Sky Szimmer: Spirit?
Stim Morane: Sky, Wasn’t the answer to your earlier question basically supposed to be the “nine second” format?
Sky Szimmer: Yes. you are right. I haven’t been doing it much as you can see
Stim Morane: Oh, I was just checking… didn’t mean to suggest anything critical.
    Sky Szimmer: Thanks.
Sky Szimmer: Spirit? Have you come and participated in Zazen or PaB before?
    Spiritnoname Saphir: yeah
Sky Szimmer: It seems to me I can’t just stop.
Sky Szimmer: I keep getting caught up in the dream
Stim Morane: Is that a way of saying you like the environment itself?
Sky Szimmer: I like your name Spiritnonmae
    Spiritnoname Saphir: thanks :p
Sky Szimmer: No. I don’t like the environment but I don’t see a way out
Sky Szimmer: it is very sticky for me
Sky Szimmer: I am doing some work to get unstuck
Stim Morane: Interesting. I would like to find out more about that sometime
Sky Szimmer: Spirit what does :p mean?
Sky Szimmer: I am new to computer texting

Spirit explained why he had chosen his no name name, a great choice!
And Sky summarized the basic PaB ideas.

Spiritnoname Saphir: It’s kinda a reference to the innate mind
Sky Szimmer: Oh? please tell me more if you don’t mind. I don’t quite understand
Sky Szimmer: I noticed that you were just born recently
Spiritnoname Saphir: usually people associate themselves with things, give themselves names, and I’m saying I’m not namable
    Sky Szimmer: oh.
Sky Szimmer: you maybe interested in what we are doing here. It is called playing as beings.
Sky Szimmer: Playing as Being points to an exploration of reality in which we use our own life as a laboratory. When we switch from what we have to what we are, what do we find? Can we make conjectures, hypotheses about what Being could be, and play with those in our day-to-day life? What happens when we do? The best way to find out is to just give it a try, starting with the description on the page with hints.
Sky Szimmer: Are you familiar with this?
Spiritnoname Saphir: Umm,.. I’m not sure what it’s about
Sky Szimmer: we meet four times a day, at 1 am, pm, 7 am, pm, SL time
Sky Szimmer: The group’s main focus is to explore reality
Sky Szimmer: I hope I am representing this correctly. So please chime in Stim
Stim Morane: It’s hard to know what to say, without more knowledge of what a given person’s view and experience are.
    Sky Szimmer: yes, indeed
Stim Morane: Anyway, I appreciate what you’re saying.
Sky Szimmer: I must step away for a second. Please excuse me.
Stim Morane: Spirit, is that sword “holdable”?
Stim Morane: Sky and Spirit, I need to go now, unfortunately. Sky, would you like to “eject” me so that I can get the firsthand experience of what that’s like?
Sky Szimmer: how do I do that?
Stim Morane: Ah, unfortunately, I don’t know either.
Spiritnoname Saphir: I think it is holdable
    Sky Szimmer: sorry Stim.
    Stim Morane: Oh, interesting.
Stim Morane: Anyway, it’s nice to see both of you. I hope we can get together another time for a chat here.
Sky Szimmer: Yes Stim. Good to see you. Thanks for helping me out next Monday
    Stim Morane: Sure! Bye!
    Sky Szimmer: See you!
