The Guardian for this session was Pema and the comments are his.

That morning, I found Dakini already in the tea house, when I arrived. I would be followed soon by Moon and Rajah.

    Dakini Rhode: hi Pema!
    Pema Pera: hi there, Dakini!
    Pema Pera: Good Sunday Morning!
Dakini Rhode: and evening, to you :-)
    Pema Pera: thank you!
Dakini Rhode: still eating my breakfast with one hand and an IM coming in
    Moon Fargis: hello again everyone:)
    Pema Pera: ahaha
    Pema Pera: Hi Moon!
    Rajah Yalin: hi everyone
    Dakini Rhode: hello!
    Pema Pera: Hi Rajah!
Pema Pera: Welcome Rajah, have you been here before?
Rajah Yalin: no actually I havent but i have been to Itsari a bit and Moon invited me over
Pema Pera: nice to meet you!
Rajah Yalin: nice to meet you all
Pema Pera: Dakini built this tea house
Pema Pera: she did a wonderful job, don’t you think?
    Rajah Yalin: ah yes definetely
Rajah Yalin: I’m a big tea drinker
Moon Fargis: ah thats good me too

Riddle joined us too, and we had an unusually large crowd for a Sunday morning. One reason might have been the guardian meeting that we were going to have nearby, in the Hall of Appearance.

    Pema Pera: Hi Riddle!
Dakini Rhode: you’re making me blush and please do enjoy your tea :-)
    Rajah Yalin: hi Riddle
    Riddle Sideways: good morning all
Moon Fargis: what kind of tea do you drink?
    Moon Fargis: hi riddle
Rajah Yalin: green mostly but I do drink black and oolong now and then
Rajah Yalin: I live in Vanuatu where kava is our “thing” and everyone says my teadrinking is very “aussie” of me
    Moon Fargis: haha
    Moon Fargis: kava oha
    Moon Fargis: verry heavy stuff
Rajah Yalin: Vanuatu has the most powerful kava in the world
Moon Fargis: oh afk a phonecall

Ecstasy walked in, with a group name “Ravenglass Resident”

    Rajah Yalin: welcome Raven
    Ecstasy Dreamscape smiles “good morning”
    Dakini Rhode: hi ED!
Riddle Sideways: you are all so good to drink tea, I need my coffeee today
    Rajah Yalin: ecs, I mean
    Pema Pera: Hi Ecstasy!
Ecstasy Dreamscape laughs softly “coffee for me too”
    Ecstasy Dreamscape: Hi Pema
Ecstasy Dreamscape nods hello to Dakini
Pema Pera: I actually just had a beer, for dinner ;>)
Rajah Yalin: I am actually going to make me some tea now RL
    Ecstasy Dreamscape: beer? dinner?
    Ecstasy Dreamscape: wow!
Pema Pera: and then a coffee afterward — Dutch custom
Riddle Sideways: you’re eating dinner and I can’t wake up
Pema Pera: getting close to midnight here in Tokyo
Rajah Yalin: its 1 in the morning Monday here
    Pema Pera: Australia?
Dakini Rhode: it’s wonderful we can all meet here wherever we are in the world
Rajah Yalin: I’m in Vanuatu, 1000 kilometres east of australia
Pema Pera bemoans his lack of geographical knowledge
Rajah Yalin: haha most people have never heard of us
Rajah Yalin: just a bunch of islands in the South Pacific
Riddle Sideways: I saw a short comic based on vanuatu last night
Dakini Rhode: is it part of New Guinea
Pema Pera: not far from Caledonia?
    Dakini Rhode: ?
Rajah Yalin: yes we’re east of Caledonia and New Guinea, but NG is their own country

It is wonderful to see our RL contingent expanding this much across time zones and continents.

Dakini Rhode: the name sounds like a paradise
Ecstasy Dreamscape: brb, must put coffee on, hehehe
    Moon Fargis: :)
    Moon Fargis: hi exstasy
Dakini Rhode: i haven’t even had my tea yet…
Rajah Yalin: it is a great place - Ive lived here all my life
Rajah Yalin: mind if I have another tea?
    Dakini Rhode: please do…
Pema Pera: Rajah, did Moon tell you what we are doing here, besides admitting to our geographically limited knowledge?
Rajah Yalin: oh yes I don’t mean to stray the conversation away
    Pema Pera: oh that’s impossible
    Pema Pera: to steer away
Moon Fargis: no didnt got the chance yet to explain him
Pema Pera: most of our conversations are rudderless :-)
Rajah Yalin: okay, so what is the topic today?
Moon Fargis: we just know each other since 17 minutes:)
Pema Pera: well, what we do here is talk about 15 minutes
Moon Fargis: i would say Play as being right?:)
Pema Pera: periods of 15 minutes
    Pema Pera: yes
Pema Pera: and in each such period we spend 9 seconds on a form of meditation
    Pema Pera: mostly in RL:
Pema Pera: so the idea is to spend a few hours each day
Pema Pera: and then during those few hours, spend 9 seconds on a short meditation, four times or so an hour
Pema Pera: and we get together here in SL to talk about it
Pema Pera: what our experiences are
Pema Pera: all very simple :-)

We talked about a sign for the tea house and the PaB blog

    Rajah Yalin: simple but exciting
Pema Pera: we think so !
Pema Pera: though it probably doesn’t sound that way :-)
Pema Pera: http://playasbeing.wordpress.com/ is our blog
Pema Pera: there we give a bit more background
Pema Pera: and lots and lots of dialogues, to give the flavor
Pema Pera: you will find there what people have found while doint these microscopic practices
    Pema Pera: which reminds me:
Dakini Rhode: i have a question
Dakini Rhode: do you folks mind if i take a snapshot of us sitting here?
Dakini Rhode: no need to pose…. haha
    Pema Pera: of course not
    Moon Fargis: ofcourse not
    Rajah Yalin: i don’t mind
    Riddle Sideways: of course no
Dakini Rhode: I’m thinking to maybe include the snapshot on a sign…
    Riddle Sideways: not
Dakini Rhode: so we can illustrate what we do here
Dakini Rhode: ok please go on with the discussion :-)
Riddle Sideways: we could put some images on blog too?
Pema Pera: yeah, I’ve been thinking about that
Dakini Rhode: yes, that would be great!
Pema Pera: basically too busy writing so far, and constantly struggling to catch up!
Pema Pera: The fact that more and more guardians are now writing blog entries with their comments is a great help!
Pema Pera: so life is getting a bit easier
Riddle Sideways: I did not mean to put any more burden on you Pema
Pema Pera: oh no, I know, Riddle — and it’s a good idea
Pema Pera: It would be nice to put pictures in the middle of the text — don’t know whether that is possible

Around this time Stim walked in, soon followed by Delani

    Pema Pera: Hi Stim!
    Ecstasy Dreamscape: Hi Stim
Stim Morane: Hi Ecstasy and all!
    Riddle Sideways: hi Stim
    Ecstasy Dreamscape nods
    Rajah Yalin: hi Stim
    Dakini Rhode: hi Stim!
Pema Pera: Ecstasy, have you had any chance to try those 9-sec explorations?
    Pema Pera: by any chance?
    Moon Fargis: ah hi stim
    Pema Pera: Hi Delani!
Stim Morane: Hi Riddle, Rajah, Dakini, Moon
Ecstasy Dreamscape: Yes I did but the problem was trying to time the 9 seconds
    Dakini Rhode: hello Delani!
    Delani Gabardini: hello all
Pema Pera: Ah, Ecstasy, the duration is not that important
Ecstasy Dreamscape: to “be” and track the time was tricky
Pema Pera: more than a couple seconds and less than a minute is fine!
Rajah Yalin: I think it is possible Pema, i used t have a wordpress blog on my domain and I put pictures in the middle
    Rajah Yalin: hi Delani
Dakini Rhode: i have noticed…. 9 seconds is a long time
    Ecstasy Dreamscape: Hi Delani
Pema Pera: I should try, Rajah
Delani Gabardini: no place to sit Moon - hi
Riddle Sideways: i have noticed… 9 seconds is a very short time
Dakini Rhode: there is a cusion next to riddle :-)
    Delani Gabardini: ty
    Moon Fargis: :)

We continued comparing notes about the PaB practice

Dakini Rhode: it seems that first moment of recollection is often the clearest
Pema Pera: Yes, me too, Dakini, there is the initial flash, than the much longer first second, then the even much longer remaining seconds . . .
    Delani Gabardini: hi dakini
Pema Pera: Welcome, Delani! Have you been here before?
Dakini Rhode: yes who would think 9 seconds is so long?
Delani Gabardini: yes I have sat with dakini’s sitting group
    Pema Pera: haha, yes
Delani Gabardini: and meet isen here often
Pema Pera: we are talking about the Play as Being explorations we are doing here — have you heard about those?
    Delani Gabardini: no
    Pema Pera: Hi Showshow!
Pema Pera: Come join us if you like!
Moon Fargis: we need more pillows:)
    Rajah Yalin: hi Show
Pema Pera: http://playasbeing.wordpress.com/ is the web site on which PaB is explained
Delani Gabardini: no I have to leave - I just wanted to meet Pema
Delani Gabardini: ty for the URL
Pema Pera: the basic idea is that we spend 9 seconds at a time on mini-mediations
Pema Pera: sure, come back, Delani, whenever you feel like!
Delani Gabardini: yes Isen and storm explained to me
Pema Pera: And in fact, we all have to move
Pema Pera: to the Hall of Appearance

Meanwhile, Showshow had joined us as well

Dakini Rhode: showshow, please use the blue cusion I just rezzed
Pema Pera: since we have a weekly meeting there
    Delani Gabardini: I will leave
Pema Pera: for the PaB guardians
Dakini Rhode: that little one is better for tinies
Pema Pera: but others are welcome too, if they like
Delani Gabardini: take my cushion show
Delani Gabardini: I will come back if I know the schedule
    showshow Camel: ty
Pema Pera: Moon and Riddle and Dakini and Stim and I are among the guardians.
Pema Pera: 1 am 7 am 1 pm 7 pm
    Pema Pera: every day
Ecstasy Dreamscape: is it just my server or is anyone else noticing sl is acting up?
    Pema Pera: Delani
Delani Gabardini: wonderful- semester has ended
Rajah Yalin: my SL was lagging a moment ago Ecs, but I think it is better now
    Delani Gabardini: namaste everyone
Delani Gabardini: will see u all soon
    Rajah Yalin: Namaste
    showshow Camel: namaste
Ecstasy Dreamscape nods thanks and bye to Delani
    Rajah Yalin: take care
    Stim Morane: Bye Delani
    Pema Pera: c u Delani!
Delani Gabardini: ty Moon for bringing me here
    Delani Gabardini: ciao
    Moon Fargis: np ciao
    Ecstasy Dreamscape: thank you Rajah
Pema Pera: So we’d better make it over to the Hall of Appearance!

And so we did. There we met Storm as well, but since it was Memorial day weekend, most of the other guardians were traveling or otherwise occupied with family or various activities. We did not stay long, and decided to wait till the next week, to talk further about organizational issues related to PaB.
