The Guardian for this meeting was Wol Euler...

    Qt Core: Hi Wol
    Wol Euler: buongiorno qt
Qt Core: those heels seems dangerous bot for the wearer and others ;-)
    Wol Euler: heheheheh
Wol Euler: careful where I tread!
Wol Euler: a Swiss friend was talking about going to Milano to see the Expo
Qt Core: depending on which side of Swiss he/she lives can be there in a couple hour

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: he liked it, but complained that many of the high-tech elements (touchscreens etc) were broken
    Wol Euler: (Zürich)
Qt Core: i visited most of the exterior at the moment, but i too found a few of the touchscreen of the infopoints misconfigured (a couple cm of ofset between where you touch and where it "feels" it) or not working
    Wol Euler nods.
Qt Core: but considering that a couple pavillion announched they had 500.000 visitor in the first months tech breaking down isn't a surprose
    Wol Euler: agreed :)
Wol Euler: I think he was just being Swiss :)
Qt Core: overall visitors in the first months: 2,7000,000
Wol Euler: they expect everything to be clean and proper all the time :)
    Qt Core: 2,700,000
    Wol Euler: that's impressive

Qt Core: and strangely Swiss and Japan are told do have the most organized pavillion (especially regarding entering queue)
    Wol Euler: gheheheheheheh
    Wol Euler: how appropriate
Wol Euler: I'm always surprised when people who visit Expos and such are surprised to find queues there
Wol Euler: really? did you think you would be alone?
Qt Core: as i will go there many times i passed all the pavillion with a long queue but all of them seemed ordinate, i'll see when i'm in one
    Wol Euler nods.

Qt Core: in my visit on 1st June there was so many people that for the Italian Palace there was a 3 hours average wait, 1,5 for other "first choice" ones
Wol Euler: I'm surprised that they don't use a "take a number and come back when it's called" system, they have been in use in train stations and public offices for decades already
Qt Core: and they should integrate it into the officlal app so that it could warn you when to come back too
    Wol Euler: right!"
Wol Euler: this is not rocket science. It's all OLD technology
Wol Euler: I wonder why nobody thinks about it.
Qt Core: but then one would take all the tickets and then would miss (and open schedule holes) all around
Wol Euler: that too is not a problem, like in the train station it calls you three times then goes to the next guy, and you are out of luck

Qt Core: You can book a date and tme to visit (at least part of a pavillion (guess which... the Swiss one)
    Wol Euler: hehehehehehe
    Wol Euler: of course
Wol Euler: it can be done, the organizer just needs to wish to do it
Qt Core: while you HAVE to book date and time to use the flighjt simulators at the Alitalia/Etihad pavillion
    Wol Euler: oooooooooooooh
    Wol Euler: that's interesting.
Wol Euler: I would love to see that
Wol Euler: (not sure what it has to do with food ...)
Qt Core: they are the official carrier
Wol Euler: fair enough :) we all know about sponsorship

    --BELL--

Qt Core: i need to go, may be back in 10/15 min
Qt Core: back, brought the person who helps with my mother home
    Wol Euler: welcome back
Qt Core: i'm wondering if i'm already getting to the middle age crisis as 1) i'm thinking about a new car, one of the candidate is made by Jeep and i'm considered red as a color ;-)
    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: which part of that is the midlife crisis? :)
Qt Core: molstly the red part
Qt Core: (that in my case hide a Ferrari impossible wish)
    Wol Euler: ah
Wol Euler: so the Jeep is a disguised Ferrari? could be.
Wol Euler: at least you didn't say "motorcycle", that would definitely have been a crisis sign

Qt Core: the funny part i probably would never buy a Ferrari as i'm a terrible driver so i don't think i'll ever be able to drive one
Qt Core: i never hurt myself seriously on my bicycle but had too many near miss to be confortable on a motorbike
Wol Euler: you ´could always have a Ferrari with chauffeur!
Qt Core: and what's the fun in that ? ;-)
Qt Core: even if a motorbike has many advantages, mostly in time gained passing traffic and way lower fuel consumption... but then there is the cold in winter
    Wol Euler: heheheh
Wol Euler: motorcycle in winter is for people in the tropics
Qt Core: to be honest i wonder more about hot summer and helmets than cold
Qt Core: (i went to the Jeep dealer "just for fun" then discovered a model that is just a little above my ideal budget, still surprised)

    --BELL--

    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: they might be quite handy, I suppose. They have high ceilings and wide doors, very practical
Qt Core: (but that car will probably fail my sister test, it is a little too highy for her i think)
    Wol Euler: hmmmm
Qt Core: yes, every model i go see i check the trunk (as i often have to put a wheelchair in it) and the front seats... as i have to put myself in it
    Wol Euler nods.
    Wol Euler: sensible
Qt Core: the new trend is to put a big thing between the two fron seats... that make impossible to not slim people to fasten their seat belts as the hand with the seat belt can't reach it
Qt Core: so i had to discard: Mercedes, Volkswagen, Reault at all and a few other models here and there
    Wol Euler nods.
Qt Core: the Volkswagen seemed desperate to make a deal and offered to cut, yes cut it when the new car would arrive...
    Wol Euler raises an eyebrow.
    Qt Core: me too

Qt Core: in the end i'll probably end up doing the (a little costly) repair my current car need and wait a few more year, maybe by then i could go electric/hybrid (not it is really too costly)
    Wol Euler nods.
    Qt Core: not=now
Wol Euler: the price will come down, as with all new technologies
Qt Core: sure, only downside for an electric i don't have electricity where keep my car
Wol Euler: I'm reconciled to the fact that I will probably never have a car, or even a driver's license
Wol Euler: are there not "filling stations" in the streets?
Wol Euler: there are two just in the area where I live
Qt Core: :-) i get one only to sleep an hour more in the mornings
Wol Euler: fair point :) but I walk to work anyway, and driving plus parking would probably take longer
Qt Core: very few, and don't thinl you can leave it there for full nights
    Wol Euler: ah, true
Qt Core: a few malls have free recharging station
Qt Core: and usually they are even near the entrance so everybody can see how green they are
    Wol Euler smiles.

    --BELL--

Qt Core: the biggest issue with electrica cars is thaty bthey are almost noiseless
Qt Core: so you lose one sense to notice them, and that is especially a problem for blind people..
Qt Core: i've read about some having speakers to do some noise and even letting you chose the noise to make, even using your own mp3
Wol Euler: I remember reading an article stating that they should be made artificially noisy, not for the sake of the blind and deaf, but because people listening to loud music on earphones might not notice them
Wol Euler: so it could sound like a Porsche 911! cool
Wol Euler: I can see a great market opening up there
Qt Core: those last one deserve to be struck ;-)
    Wol Euler: agreed, it's a self-inflicted injury
    Qt Core: technological darwinism
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: anyway, I fear that I must move on, I'm working this afternoon and have to get ready
Wol Euler: take care, qt, enjoy the day
Qt Core: ok, bye, have a nice sunday
Qt Core: productive if not funny
    Wol Euler: ;(
    Wol Euler: erm, :)
    Wol Euler: better
    Wol Euler smiles.
    Qt Core: :-)
