The Guardian for this meeting was Wol.
Agatha Macbeth: Wolliedocious! ♥
Wol Euler: greetings and salutations, dear Aggers
Agatha Macbeth: I've been here seven years today
Agatha Macbeth: Hardly seems more than six
Wol Euler: oh hooray :)
Wol Euler: happy pabiversary
Agatha Macbeth: TY
Wol Euler: I remember how you used to lurk up above next to the hawk, listening but never speaking
Agatha Macbeth: Yeh
Wol Euler: I invited you down several times before you actually came down
Agatha Macbeth: Don't think he was there then
Agatha Macbeth: I remember I was out of range of the listener
Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler sniffs. What are you smoking?
Agatha Macbeth: Oh an opium pipe
Agatha Macbeth: A friend gave it me
Agatha Macbeth: :P
Agatha Macbeth: Poppies are not just for November and all that
Wol Euler: ah :)
Agatha Macbeth: Indeed
Agatha Macbeth: Velly insclutable
--BELL--
(Eliza agrees with the following very much. Books also = moving)
Wol Euler: I'm listening to Andrew Solomon talking about depression (TED)
Agatha Macbeth: Is he wise?
Wol Euler: yes
Agatha Macbeth: Aha
Agatha Macbeth: Bet he doesn't build temples tho
Wol Euler: only of words
Agatha Macbeth nods
Agatha Macbeth: Well I hope he cheers you up a bit
Wol Euler: http://www.ted.com/search?q=andrew+solomon
Wol Euler: three talks, all interesting and very moving
Agatha Macbeth: TY
Wol Euler: I admire him very much
Agatha Macbeth: As much as Will Wheaton?
Wol Euler: differently
Wol Euler: perhaps more, yes
Agatha Macbeth grins
Agatha Macbeth: What does TED stand for?
Wol Euler: Technology Education Something
Wol Euler: Design
Agatha Macbeth: Ah right
Agatha Macbeth: I think Brucie watches them too
Wol Euler: I usually listen rather than watching as such
Wol Euler: radio while I work
Agatha Macbeth: As opposed to whistling
Wol Euler: exactly
Agatha Macbeth: I couldn't find you a better bell I'm afraid
Agatha Macbeth: I did look
Agatha Macbeth: They don't seem to be an item in demand
--BELL--
Wol Euler: ah well
Wol Euler: thank you for looking
Agatha Macbeth sighs
Agatha Macbeth: I know
Agatha Macbeth: I found a few I knew of and right clicked to see who made them, but in every case the place seemed to no longer in SL any more :(
Wol Euler: taht happens too
Agatha Macbeth: Indeed
Agatha Macbeth: With worrying frequency
Agatha Macbeth: Such an ephemeral world
Agatha Macbeth: The number of times I've followed a LM to a shop and ended up in somebody's bedroom...
Wol Euler: people say that RL businesses fail too, allegedly most new businesses in the US last less than ten years
Agatha Macbeth: Hm
Agatha Macbeth: But at least RL ones stay on the same premises longer :p
Wol Euler: I've noticed that there are good locations and bad locations
Agatha Macbeth: Seems to be so much empty land in SL these days, specially on the mainland
Wol Euler: there's a particular shop address near me which has had a string of businesses over these years, all of which died fairly quickly
Wol Euler nods.
Agatha Macbeth: I see Bootgasm has gone now cos the tier was too high
Wol Euler: many stores have gone marketplace-only
Agatha Macbeth: I noticed
Agatha Macbeth: They'll be charging more for that next!
Agatha Macbeth: I remember fondly when we used to go clothes shopping in the early days
Wol Euler nods.
Agatha Macbeth: Boy we got around
Wol Euler: yeah
Wol Euler: and music, lots of live music
Agatha Macbeth: Right
Agatha Macbeth: Grace and Jordan
Wol Euler: yup
Wol Euler: Grace still sings, very irregularly
Agatha Macbeth: Yay
Wol Euler: but Jordan is gone
Agatha Macbeth: Think Jordan packed in totally, RL too :(
Wol Euler: she's not even active on FB any more, or at least I don't see her posting
Wol Euler: yup
Agatha Macbeth: I need the lavabo, ein moment bitte...
--BELL--
Agatha Macbeth: Better out than in...
Agatha Macbeth: A weight off my mind you could say
Wol Euler: lol
Agatha Macbeth: Working today?
Wol Euler: yes, and tomorrow
Wol Euler: presentation on tuesday
Agatha Macbeth: Aww
Agatha Macbeth: Good luck
Wol Euler: and I spent most of the two weeks half-off playing Warcraft
Agatha Macbeth: Shock horror
Wol Euler: so having to make up the time now
Agatha Macbeth: The orcs are falling by the shedload
Wol Euler: indeed, and demons too
Agatha Macbeth: Arr
Agatha Macbeth: Too much running back and forth over the same ground for my liking
Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: unlike walking to work and back every day, eh?
Agatha Macbeth: At least The Hobbit was text only :p
Agatha Macbeth: 'You see a clearing: exits are N E and W'
Wol Euler: :)
Agatha Macbeth: 'Thorin sits down and starts singing about gold'
Wol Euler: I never played those games
Agatha Macbeth: Long time ago
Agatha Macbeth: 8 bit
Agatha Macbeth: With sound that was like a stylotron
Agatha Macbeth: And etch a sketch graphics
Wol Euler smiles.
Agatha Macbeth: Wonder if Clive Sinclair's still alive?
Wol Euler: google probably knows
Agatha Macbeth: Yes he is...
Agatha Macbeth: 76
Agatha Macbeth: Same age as Geoff Boycott
Wol Euler: good lord
Wol Euler: Captain Viv :)
Wol Euler: no, not Stanshall
Wol Euler: West idies
Agatha Macbeth: Nah, he's not that old
Wol Euler: yes I know, just thinking about cricket
Agatha Macbeth: About 60-sh
Agatha Macbeth: with an i
Agatha Macbeth: Any shopping to do?
--BELL--
Agatha Macbeth: Hello Poly
Wol Euler: yes
Polyhistor Serpente: Hi
Wol Euler: I have to go
Agatha Macbeth: Haven't seen you for ages
Wol Euler: hello Polly, bad timing :)
Polyhistor Serpente: Its fine
Polyhistor Serpente: nice av
Agatha Macbeth: How's Quinby these days?
Agatha Macbeth: Never seems to be anybody at hanja any more
Agatha Macbeth: H*
