Ewan Bonham: Hi Bruce...:)
Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Ewan.
Bruce Mowbray: (oh my -- getting MUCH lag here)
Bruce Mowbray: seems to be better now.
Ewan Bonham: Glad all we have to do is sit..
Bruce Mowbray: Perhaps it helped for my to adjust my sit.
Bruce Mowbray: :)
Ewan Bonham: BRB
Bruce Mowbray: kk.
--BELL--
Xirana Oximoxi: 's current display-name is "Xirana".
Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Xir. Hi, Mick.
Mickorod Renard: Hi Folks
Xirana Oximoxi: hello Bruce, Ewan, Mick
Mickorod Renard: hope you are all well and away from any huricanes etc
Xirana Oximoxi: I hope so... :)
Ewan Bonham: Back..
Xirana Oximoxi: welcome back Ewan
Mickorod Renard: :)
Ewan Bonham: Hi Xirana.. Hi mick...
Mickorod Renard: Ewan
Ewan Bonham: Well, let's get started.
Ewan Bonham: Welcome to our group with a focus on Mindfulness...
Xirana Oximoxi: Do we have to claim the chat log?
Ewan Bonham: mindfulness can concentrate on by something outside of our bodies... OR can concentrate on the working of our internal Mindful imaginings..
Ewan Bonham: In both cases, the focus of attention is still played out from our Mind's framework..
Ewan Bonham: When external, we are making exquisite sense out of something that really exists ... like an object on a table..
Ewan Bonham: In the second sense, we are letting our inner imagination unfold right before us...We can loose ourselves in this lucid dreaming..
Ewan Bonham: Today, I would like to outline for us a meditation in which we will be allowing our Inner Mind to play itself out before our consciousness..
Ewan Bonham: First, let's ground ourselves and then briefly check in..
Ewan Bonham: please take three long and deep breaths in succession..
Ewan Bonham: With each one, affirm that you are sitting right here and now..
Mickorod Renard: in sl?
Ewan Bonham: Then, let your mind focus on your breathing... let youself tell you which part of your body is in need of some attention...
Ewan Bonham: Yes, sl
Mickorod Renard: ty
Xirana Oximoxi: I do feel I am with all of you sharing this moment in sl
Ewan Bonham: nod..
Mickorod Renard: yes, me too, with you guys
Ewan Bonham: In a moment, I will ask for your short expression of awareness..
Ewan Bonham: OK, I will go first...
Ewan Bonham: With each breath, I released myself from what I was thinking before the group...
Ewan Bonham: And asked my body what it needed...
Ewan Bonham: my butt told me I have a bit of a cramp (which I had not been aware)
Ewan Bonham: And it needs to stretch...
Ewan Bonham: I have made a promise to do so after this group...:)
Ewan Bonham: done..
--BELL--
Bruce Mowbray: I have three different people expecting me to do things for them in 1 1/2 hours. One involves a 5-mile round-trip drive and a 2-hour commitment to work the phones for Hillary. As these minor anxieties rise, I exhale them for the Cosmos to "hold" -- and I am lighter for that.
Bruce Mowbray: 50 mile roundtrip - not 5.
Bruce Mowbray: [done]
Xirana Oximoxi: I've tried to ignore the sounds I hear in rl around me...cars, people moving things..and to just hear the relaxing sound of the fountain or to be more aware of the pavilion and all of us
Ewan Bonham: Ah... thanks, Bruce... nice that you can release this anxiety..
Bruce Mowbray: ty, yes it is.
Ewan Bonham: We are taken care of...
Bruce Mowbray listens for more from Xir.
Xirana Oximoxi: I have thought of my headache and tried to let it go off .... also the hot weather.... still trying :-)
Xirana Oximoxi: done
Mickorod Renard: I too was fighting the noise of a television left on too loud as i took my first breath....then i took another and wondered whether I needed to alter my position as I am too reclined and my neck is straining a bit...then finally I was drawn more into sl and the sounds of the water
Ewan Bonham: Yes, more release...
Mickorod Renard: done
Ewan Bonham: Hmmm... i like consulting with your body, so your Whole Self can be a part of this sl event..
Ewan Bonham: OK, anything any of you would like to comment upon that you have heard from others?
Bruce Mowbray: Not I.
Mickorod Renard: I havent heard anything
Ewan Bonham: I mean 'read'
Xirana Oximoxi: I have no comments...just a reflexion on how rl 'noise' can interfere in our experience
Bruce Mowbray: :)
Xirana Oximoxi: :)
Mickorod Renard: ah
Ewan Bonham: Thank you... for grounding here... and now for the brief meditation...
Mickorod Renard: i was thinking that we all take three breaths to drop into it
Ewan Bonham: Yes... three breaths...
Mickorod Renard: maybe even 4
Mickorod Renard: to relax
Ewan Bonham: :)
Ewan Bonham: Yes, let's take a minute..
Mickorod Renard: I like Bruces idea where he breaths it out and away..sort of
Ewan Bonham: Yes, a conscious giving it over to the Universe..
Bruce Mowbray nods . . . and it really works, Mick.
Mickorod Renard: lovely
Ewan Bonham: OK, I will begin the Mindful Meditation... we will be interrupted by the break in a few minutes..
Ewan Bonham: As you breath consciously and deliberately, notice the pace and depth of your breathing..
Ewan Bonham: OK... now with each breath allow a clear picture of a full length mirror to present itself in front of you..
Ewan Bonham: notice the details of its frame, its feet, and clearness of the glass..
--BELL--
Ewan Bonham: As you continue deep breath, ask the mirror to show you a representation of a part of you that needs some attention.
Ewan Bonham: The image that appears in the mirror, can be a symbolic representation of an object, a person, you at a different age, or yourself right now...
Ewan Bonham: Let that image come and appear effortlessly...
Ewan Bonham: Once you see the image, let it speak to you...whatever it wishes to tell you...
Ewan Bonham: Notice, as you listen, what happens to your breath...
Ewan Bonham: If there is an emotional tone or attachment to an outcomme..
Ewan Bonham: Listen carefully, and ask for any details...
Ewan Bonham: Now ask... where do you reside within me?
Ewan Bonham: How might I go to visit you as we walk through your need together..
Ewan Bonham: Let this conversation flow naturally and without censor..
Ewan Bonham: Each time you speak, notice your breath...
Ewan Bonham: You may have just a beginning dialogue... or find yourself in a resolution...
Ewan Bonham: Either way... bless your awareness...
Ewan Bonham: Address what you hope to be and do with this part of you ...
Ewan Bonham: Take the next break to complete the dialogue for now..
--BELL--
Ewan Bonham: Take one deep breath as you conclude... and then let's each share our experience..
Ewan Bonham: I can go first...
Ewan Bonham: The Mirror was couched in a wooden frame with handcarvings... making it feel very valuable to me..
Ewan Bonham: The image that appeared was of my adolescent self... I was maybe 16..
Ewan Bonham: The image told me that it lives inside of me to expand myself and learn all kinds of things in the wide open ...
Ewan Bonham: It was saying, we need to get out more and try new events...
Ewan Bonham: I noticed my breath quickened and I felt a bit defensive...
Ewan Bonham: When I let that go, I can see how I have been in a routine lately and have passed by several opportunities...
Ewan Bonham: Thinking of some I could attend, i noticed my breathing slowed..
Ewan Bonham: done..
Bruce Mowbray: My mirror was very plain - nothing ornate at all. I immediately noticed that I still need to shave before I leave the farm for commitments elsewhere. As those thoughts came back, I noticed my breathing get shallower. I looked at the rest of my body and realized that, although it has been a good friend for over 7 decades, I seem to identify with/as it less and less as I get older - and that I will no longer need it soon, perhaps.
Bruce Mowbray: This made me feel lighter and more relaxed, actually.
Bruce Mowbray: Went back to breathing deeply again.
Bruce Mowbray: [done]
Xirana Oximoxi: I've seen myself in the mirrow... now, at the present moment. I've had to close my eyes to really see this image of me.....opening my eyes time to time to see what you've said... it has been difficult to notice the difference between my own thoughts and what this image of me had to say or where it was within me... my dialoge has been a way to make me less worried about the results of what I do and to go slolwy step by step... which probably will lead me to get better results... This practice is interesting, but I think it needs a bit of training to get better at it :-)
Ewan Bonham: nice... reminds me of our Spiritual presence...
Xirana Oximoxi: (done)
Mickorod Renard: My breathing resembled riding waves in a ship..up and down..sometimes a stabalizer kicked in to regulate it and it groaned a bit..but onward it went....i conjured the mirror..it was white with a curve at the top..bevelled edge to the glass...it was dark..it was like a Chiaroscuro painting where canle light highlighted my painful right wrist and my shaddowed face
Ewan Bonham: yes, Xirana, it gets easier... and you have come away with the gem of going more slowly... even in your dialogues
Xirana Oximoxi: yes :)
Mickorod Renard: I asked it questions,,my breath became shortened until you wrote about it and I controlled it again..it told me to take control as those outward factors trouble me..i asked where it was and it said it was me
Mickorod Renard: i was aware of the darkness and wondered if that was my state of mind
Mickorod Renard: done
Mickorod Renard: he he
Ewan Bonham: Ah, I see taking control as a theme... including a choice of whether to stay in the darkness..
Ewan Bonham: Do others have comments for each other?
Ewan Bonham: Did you see yourself in any of the sharing of your peers?
Bruce Mowbray: I have no comments except to answer you question "yes" with each sharing. Also, that I really need to thank every one and go back to RL now.
--BELL--
Mickorod Renard: thank you Bruce, great to see you
Xirana Oximoxi: thank you Bruce! :) take care
Ewan Bonham: OK, Bruce... thanks... and safe travels to you...:)
Bruce Mowbray: Good to see all of you, too.
Ewan Bonham: OK... any last comments before we end?
Bruce Mowbray: Be safe. Stay well. Namaste. and Thank you all.
Xirana Oximoxi: bye :)
Ewan Bonham: if you practice this a few times this week, you may be amazed at what arises..
Xirana Oximoxi: I have no special comments ...just thank you for the expreince :)
Ewan Bonham: And in my case, how integrated I began to feel...:)
Mickorod Renard: I like the practice,,although i do talk to myself often anyway..but this was interesting as i was sceptical as we began
Mickorod Renard: but i did like the affamation from my other self,,it was like a friend talking to me
Ewan Bonham: yes, we need to be in the practice to know the effects...:)
Xirana Oximoxi: I think with practice it would be much better
Ewan Bonham: Nod..
Xirana Oximoxi: now I must pay attention to what you tell us to do...and to read what others share...
Ewan Bonham: OK, friends, I hope to see you next week... enjoy your days...:)
Mickorod Renard: cheers Ewan..and hope to be here next week
Xirana Oximoxi: thank you Ewan and Mick ! Have a nice week! :)
Mickorod Renard: thank you Xir
Mickorod Renard: great to see you too
Xirana Oximoxi: bye bye :)
Mickorod Renard: bye for now
Mickorod Renard: take care
