The Guardian for this meeting was Yaku.

    Qt Core: Hi Wol, Tura
    Wol Euler: hello qt
    Wol Euler: nabend yaku
    Qt Core: Hi Yaku
    Tura Brezoianu: hello
    Yakuzza Lethecus: good evening

Qt Core: Summer exploded around here, with above 30C temps, what about you ?
Yakuzza Lethecus: have you been here before visitor ?
Qt Core: (and so did the engine of my car, almost exploded with to high temps)
Yakuzza Lethecus: here we had just 20 today
Wol Euler: same, awfully hot here
Wol Euler: the streets are like ovens
Tura Brezoianu: for me, a downpour this morning, but hot and sunny in the afternoon

    --BELL--

Qt Core: Have you read about this: https://www.google.com/atap/project-jacquard/ ? First proposed item a Levi's jeans that would tell the wearer if he/she is gaining weight.... and then Google says it's motto is "being not evil"...
    Wol Euler: hehehe
    Wol Euler: wow
Qt Core: end their other idea, you send them a pic of your food and they tell you how much calories it has, even evilier ;-)
Qt Core: they probably had Michelle Obama visiting them ;-)
Wol Euler: that seems pretty unlikely to me
Wol Euler: (the food image as a reliable indicator of calories)
Wol Euler: I'm not sure how it would distiguish between full-fat and low-fat yoghurt, for example
    Qt Core: http://www.theguardian.com/technolog...gram-food-porn
Qt Core: “To me it’s obvious that people really want this and this is really useful. OK fine, maybe we get the calories off by 20%. It doesn’t matter. We’re going to average over a week or a month or a year.

    Tura Brezoianu: Ooh, ecological fallacy!
Tura Brezoianu: (population average isn't necessarily any individual's average)

Qt Core: now, putting the two tech together we'll have jeans that would thighten themselves making you unable to eat the too rich food your google glasses just take a pic of
    Wol Euler: freedom! individuality!
    Wol Euler snorts.

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: if it's only accurate to plus or minus twenty percent, then you might as well use common sense.
    Wol Euler: wb qt
    Qt Core: ty ;-)
Wol Euler: "I can see that it's full of cream. and I can taste that it's full of sugar too. Obviuosly it contains a ton of calories."
Wol Euler: Not to mention the difference between sweeteners and sugar.
    Wol Euler: anyway
Wol Euler: sorry to be a grinch
Wol Euler: I hope the person who invented this has a long and prosperous career selling it
Qt Core: picturing entering on a self-service restaurant, taking a wide angle shot and gettng back what to get to have a well balanced meal considering my preferences...
Qt Core: then discarting that sad sad list
    Wol Euler: heheheheheh
    Wol Euler: exactly
Wol Euler: chinese restaurants in canada used to have plastic models of the food for people to point to
Wol Euler: perhaps that will return
    Wol Euler: .

Qt Core: tablet on every i(if not IN every) table
Qt Core: that should make life simpler and wait shorter
    Qt Core: and waiters unenployed
Yakuzza Lethecus: might be easier to order ,,just water" when not having to say it
Tura Brezoianu: you'd only be able to order what's on the tablet though
Tura Brezoianu: no oredring off the menu, or "just tap water please"
Qt Core: there could be a text area or a red button call the waiter for that

Wol Euler: The issue isn't information. Anyone who looks at a cream cake knows that it's full of cream. No further info is needed. The issue is will power, and I don't see how an app will change that any more than thousands of diet books did (not).
    Wol Euler is a luddite.
Qt Core: making it a game with point and virtual awards and posting them on fb/whatever ?
    Wol Euler: perhaps that :)
Wol Euler: after all, Fitbit is a huge hit with people who would never have bought a plain pedometer.
Wol Euler: which have existed since I was a child.
Tura Brezoianu: those jeans could automatically report your weight to Facebook
    Wol Euler: hello visitor
Wol Euler: six days old, welcome to second life
    Visitor: Hi
    Visitor: thank you
    Visitor: So hows everyones day
Wol Euler is grumpy and blames the weather.

    --BELL--

Qt Core: a little hot for most of us (you seems dressed for hot weather too)
visitor: Well, yeah, Im about to be in summer soon and my day hasn't be stormy or snowy
Qt Core: less than a week ago we had a couple 10C day and today we are over 30C it is not so hot but still not used to it, that's the problem
    visitor: ok, cool
Wol Euler: I was wearing a sweater at work a fortnight ago, too
    TheWolverinecool23 Resident: ok, thats cool
Qt Core: those at work may be needed to were to strong AC is running
    Wol Euler smiles.
    visitor: smiles

Wol Euler: I really appreciate the Spanish (and portugese and african) habit of taking a siesta
Wol Euler: during the heat of the day, when it's so unpleasant
visitor: I need to go somewhere now
Qt Core: bye Wolverine, have fun!
Yakuzza Lethecus: thx for joining us
    Wol Euler: take care

visitor: your welcome and I love you this group

    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: I will be heading off at 2pm, my dears
Yakuzza Lethecus: actually to experiment a bit with wearables i bought a mi band
    Wol Euler: oh?
Yakuzza Lethecus: just 13 euro, it´s a pedometer and gives vibration alarms
Yakuzza Lethecus: batterie lasts a whole month
Yakuzza Lethecus: but of course it needs a phone/tablet to be paired with
    Tura Brezoianu: looks interesting
Yakuzza Lethecus: today i had 18000 steps :P
Qt Core: nice batteries and recharge systems seems to me to be the biggest issue for them

    --BELL--

Yakuzza Lethecus: it doesn´t have apps or so, just a gyro and the vibration, but i think that´s enough, for more i can look on the phone
Wol Euler: amazing what they can pack into such a tiny space these days
Yakuzza Lethecus: a friend and his wife showed us their applewatches last week
Yakuzza Lethecus: they got it from the uk
Yakuzza Lethecus: but as i understood it only lasts a day of batterie
    Wol Euler: O.O
Yakuzza Lethecus: and when i saw the pricetag it was totally out of my range
Wol Euler: so if you spent 36 hours in transit because of missed flights you'd be watchless?
Qt Core: yes, one of the point of an ad of Sony is that they have smartwatches way before apple and with 2/4 days batteries

    Wol Euler: hello eliza!
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey eliza
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Wol, everyone :)
    Qt Core: Hi Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: I see Luci's galaxy box
Eliza Madrigal: are we meeting here or at the art of being pavilion?
    Eliza Madrigal: ...
Qt Core: there is a meeting today ?
Wol Euler: I was checking email to see who is meeting why
Wol Euler: and still not sure
Eliza Madrigal: ooh, gee, I was thinking the pavilion meeting was today not sunday
    Eliza Madrigal: (just reread email)
Wol Euler: geting ahead of yourself!
    Wol Euler smiles.
Eliza Madrigal: well, at least I broke off from a fine but tedious conversation pattern for a bit
    Eliza Madrigal: haha
    Wol Euler: hehehehe
Eliza Madrigal: I excused myself for an important meeting
Wol Euler: glad we cuold be of service there
    Eliza Madrigal: thanks :))
    Eliza Madrigal laughs

Eliza Madrigal: how has session been?
Wol Euler: I've been a grumpy luddite
    Eliza Madrigal: oh no
    Wol Euler: sadly
Wol Euler: I blame it on the weather
    Eliza Madrigal: why grum chum?
    Eliza Madrigal: ah
Eliza Madrigal: weather is dreary here too
Eliza Madrigal: complicating traffic, grumpining up the place

Wol Euler: we have been talking about various new high-tech ventures
Qt Core: all wanting to make people feel fat
Wol Euler: like a google app that tells you how many calories are in your food based on photos you take of it
    Eliza Madrigal: omg

Eliza Madrigal: there is an **********Applause!!********** that takes 10 lbs off of your selfie, too
    Eliza Madrigal: **********Applause!!**********
Wol Euler: which I find (a) technically improbable, and (b) even it it worked a silly idea
    Eliza Madrigal: eep , always forget I can't type A P P
Eliza Madrigal: how could it be near accurate?
    Wol Euler: it isn't!
    Wol Euler: they admit that
Eliza Madrigal: can they SEE the butter?
Tura Brezoianu: applause that takes 10lb off sounds like a good idea
Wol Euler: no more than they can see the difference between sweetener and sugar
    Eliza Madrigal grins at Tura
Eliza Madrigal: yes I would like that too
Eliza Madrigal: anything to keep from focusing on the real point which is that food is so tampered with in the first place
    Wol Euler: mmhmm

Eliza Madrigal: I've gained a lot of weight the last 3 years, so am a little obsessed with it at the moment, but that has to do with habits and getting to the why
Eliza Madrigal: it isn't a healthy trajectory
    Wol Euler nods.
Eliza Madrigal: I'll never count calories
Eliza Madrigal: or not too much :)
    Wol Euler smiles.
Eliza Madrigal: I'd buy an a p p that zapped the saturated fats out of donuts hehhe

Yakuzza Lethecus: i got to sleep for a little while, got up at five this morning, sleep well everyone, sooner or later
    Wol Euler: wow
Wol Euler: goodnight yaku, and hugs to the family
Eliza Madrigal: okay Yaku :) ntsy
Qt Core: bye Yaku sleep well
Eliza Madrigal: I got up at 5 too, maybe it was projected sympathy
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Wol Euler: what an awful thought

Qt Core: (with the temps out there going poout at 5am for a bicycle ride isn't a bad idea
    Eliza Madrigal: true, sounds nice
Wol Euler: right, which is how I got to the siesta idea a while back
Qt Core: (ok, lets make that at least 6)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: lets
Wol Euler: getting up early is fine as long as you either have a shortened day, or a break for a nap
    Eliza Madrigal: I like siesta
Wol Euler: boy, I'm grumping at *everything* today.
Eliza Madrigal: there seems a natural lull at a certain time of day
    Wol Euler: stop that.
Qt Core: i get an afternoon nap on most of my saturdays/sundays
Eliza Madrigal: that's not grumping... just dreaming of a more balanced pace

    --BELL--

    Eliza Madrigal: I love naps
Eliza Madrigal: but the pattern I've been in recently is bad... nap shouldn't come just an hour or two after getting up
    Wol Euler: ha, yes
Wol Euler: that sounds like too little sleep to me
    Eliza Madrigal: it has been
Wol Euler: how many hours a night do you sleep?
Eliza Madrigal: like I never quite get deep enough in sleep
Eliza Madrigal: hm, lately like 5
    Wol Euler: O.O
    Eliza Madrigal: but usually I'm a 7 to 8
    Wol Euler nods.
Eliza Madrigal: outside of the last year
Eliza Madrigal: school is farther from apartment
Eliza Madrigal: then, I drive again at 2-3
Eliza Madrigal: so day is all chopped up
    Eliza Madrigal: yuck
    Wol Euler nods.
Eliza Madrigal: what's normal for you guys?
    Qt Core: 7
    Wol Euler: 7 as well
    Tura Brezoianu: 6 or 7
Qt Core: had a few years where it got down to 4 with many interruptions, it was awful
    Wol Euler nods.
    Eliza Madrigal nods... affects everything
Eliza Madrigal: I've known people who were really happy and productive at 5 or 6 but I've never been like that :)
Qt Core: so now sometimes i wake up after 4/5 and have that happy feeling of "hey i have still 2/3 hours of sleep!"
    Eliza Madrigal smiles!
    Eliza Madrigal: good feeling
    Wol Euler: nice, qt

Wol Euler: my mother gets by on 4 to 5, has done for years
Qt Core: (that if there are no happy bird chirping outside my window... ;-) )
Eliza Madrigal: birdsong in the morning, not a bad way to enter the day
Eliza Madrigal: supposedly as we age we need less
Qt Core: yes, good to wake up, impossible to fall asleep with
    Eliza Madrigal: :)) #problemsofprivilege
    Wol Euler smiles.

Eliza Madrigal: we have one bird every morning, but he mimics the alarm sounds of the neighborhood
    Eliza Madrigal: hahah
    Wol Euler: a critic!
    Eliza Madrigal grins
Qt Core: is he courting the alarm ?
    Eliza Madrigal: maybe so! hah
Eliza Madrigal: he's looking for an alarming mate maybe ::badumbump::

Eliza Madrigal: I'd better get back to other room....
Wol Euler: and I to my overheated RL
    Wol Euler: goodnight, my dears
    Wol Euler: enjoy the weekend
Eliza Madrigal: night wol, stay cool and be happy
Wol Euler: I shall try :)
Qt Core: yes, sleep for me too
    Tura Brezoianu: goodnight all
    Eliza Madrigal: bye Tura, Qt
    Eliza Madrigal: enjoy the evening
Wol Euler: bye tura, bye all
    Qt Core: bye all
