    Catrina is back!

Catrinamonblue Resident: 's current display-name is "Catrinamonblue".
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Morning Eden :)
Eden Haiku: Catrina! How nice to se you! How are you?

    --BELL--

Catrinamonblue Resident: doing pretty good :) finally settling into the new place... it's been a hard transition though.
    Eden Haiku: A hard transition?
Catrinamonblue Resident: moving to a new city
Catrinamonblue Resident: leaving behind my old life
Eden Haiku: Ah yes, adjusting to a new city, smaller than Ottawa...
Catrinamonblue Resident: I don't mind smaller so much, it's the leaving behind part that's been the hardest.
Eden Haiku: Are your children still in Ottawa?
Catrinamonblue Resident: This move was made because yann was posted, not because i wanted to move.
Eden Haiku: Yes, I remember that...
Catrinamonblue Resident: 2 of them are still in Ottawa yes, the younger ones. My daughter lives in Guelph so this move has put me closer to her.
Eden Haiku: Oh that's good, to have your daughter not too far.
Eden Haiku: Did you find a bowling alley nearby?
Catrinamonblue Resident: yes :) but I haven't had a chance yet to look into it yet
Eden Haiku: Moving is a lot of work :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: oh my goodness yes!!!!! I hope we are here for a while :)
Eden Haiku: I also moved from the summer house up the hills back in Montreal. It's tiring :)
Eden Haiku: It's just a seasonal move but it takes up a lot of energy!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: yes :)
Eden Haiku: It's very quiet here this morning. I guess Riddle is celebrating Rosh Hashanah,
Eden Haiku: Eliza is now busy in the mornings, driving her son to school
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Morning Adams :)
    Eden Haiku: Good morning Adams
    Adams Rubble: Good morning :)
Eden Haiku: Catrina is now back after moving to another city :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Adams Rubble: I hope it was not too stressful
Adams Rubble: and that your new city turns out to be a good place to live :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: well I'm on the other side of now so I can say I survived, I hope that we get to settle here for a few years at least
Catrinamonblue Resident: It's a lovely little city :) I'm enjoying being here
Adams Rubble: change can be good. cleans out the cobwebs from the mind :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: lol :) yes that it does as well as cleaning out the junk piles that accumulate :)
Adams Rubble: hehe, yes that too
Adams Rubble: all safely packed away in boxes for some
Eden Haiku: That is the tough part of a move: junk. Or just : too many "things"...
Catrinamonblue Resident: yes, I downsized as much as I was able. Some things are hard to part with. childrens art work and such
    Adams Rubble nods
    Eden Haiku: smiles
Eden Haiku: I love the word "downsizing", but it's such a hard thing to do...

    --BELL--

    Rosh Hashanah

Catrinamonblue Resident: nods yes it's hard to do. I feel that I did a pretty good job of it, At least nothing is overflowing out of the rooms :)
Adams Rubble: Good morning Eliza :)
Eden Haiku: I have been keeping doing my 10,000 steps a day since I got back this week end. But I cannot expect to find myself in front of a deer with her two fawns in a city park :(
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Morning Eliza :)
Eden Haiku: Good morning Eliza! What a beautiful surprise!
Eden Haiku: Is it a school vacation day?
    Eliza Madrigal: Morning! :)
Eliza Madrigal: Thank you, sorry for arriving during the pause
    Adams Rubble: Can't be helped
Eliza Madrigal: mhm, happy rosh hashannah
Eliza Madrigal: all looking cute today
Eden Haiku: Ah yes, Rosh Hashanah:)
Eliza Madrigal: or at my place, challah day lol
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Eden Haiku: Cooking a special bread :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: er...buying...
    Eliza Madrigal: ;-)
Eden Haiku: Buying is as good :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Eliza Madrigal: it will have to be this year.... did find a recipe but 'other things' cropped up to tend to
Eliza Madrigal: don't let me sidetrack conversation tho
Eden Haiku: "Other things" do have a tendency to crop up don't they?
    Eliza Madrigal: they do!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Eden Haiku: No problem Eliza :)
Eden Haiku: We were talking about Catrina moving in another city and about me having moved back in Montreal :)
Eliza Madrigal: oh, already? hope both moves are going easily
Eliza Madrigal: Cat you have a big house to fill now!
Catrinamonblue Resident: I'm pretty much settled in now I think.... house is actually about the same size as Yann's place in Ottawa was :) we did get a new bedroom set though
Eden Haiku: And about the necessity to "downsize", Catrina seems to have done a better job than I did...
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Eliza Madrigal: bring back the deer, Eden?
    Eden Haiku: sobbing
    Eliza Madrigal: aw ((hugs)) sorry
Eden Haiku: I miss them so...
Eden Haiku: Saw the deer and her two fawns on my last morning walk...Shared an apple with them :)
    Eliza Madrigal: precious
Catrinamonblue Resident: nice :) I miss my trails at the bird sanctuary. We are trying to find some place similar around here.
Catrinamonblue Resident: not many wild places left
Eden Haiku: It will be fun to explore your new area Catrina!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: yes :)
Eden Haiku: What about the house you were looking up Eliza? Did it work?
    Eliza Madrigal: sadly, no....
    Catrinamonblue Resident: listens :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: oh dear :(
Eliza Madrigal: we're signing a 7 mo lease this coming weekend and I'm not thrilled about it...
Eden Haiku: Oh, sorry to hear.

    --BELL

    Time to move shells

Eliza Madrigal: but just to get through this period of son's school
Eden Haiku: You will find a better house, I'm sure :)
Eliza Madrigal: then the canvas will be larger
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I don't mind the apartment itself, and seemed oblivious the first few years,
Eliza Madrigal: since I was so happy not to be taking care of the big house and 'issues'
    Eden Haiku: Yes
Eliza Madrigal: but the surroundings are ugh, and even right now the air is out on a day that it is very hot outside
Eliza Madrigal: so just... life saying it is time to move shells
    Eliza Madrigal: kicking me out
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Eden Haiku: Beautiful image Eliza' moving shells...
Eliza Madrigal: :) there is a story someone tells about mother eagles making nests uncomfortable so the babies will fly... not sure if that's true but I like the story ^.^
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Eden Haiku: hehe
Eliza Madrigal: have been enjoying reading sessions btw...nice balances of depth and fun
Eden Haiku: It seems your making your nest so comfortable your baby eagles like to cling to their mama:)
    Eliza Madrigal giggles....
    Catrinamonblue Resident: smiles
Eden Haiku: Like we do in PaB :)
Eliza Madrigal: I need 'raving shrew' lessons
Adams Rubble: the economy is not so inviting for the baby eagles
    Eden Haiku: No, it's not...
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
Eden Haiku: So hard for the young people now...
    Catrinamonblue Resident: yes...
Eliza Madrigal: thankfully daughter found a full time job/benefits, but it is another position I think she might like too much and doesn't seem like the best long term idea...
Eliza Madrigal: but gotta have some trust in what life is doing, ultimately :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Eden Haiku: Ah... That's good news though, but I see how it can be tempting to stay in not the perfect job...
Eliza Madrigal: isn't it hard to find the balance of advice for 'live your dreams' and 'make money to survive'?
    Eden Haiku: Very hard indeed
Catrinamonblue Resident: very hard for even us adults to find that balance too
    Eliza Madrigal: indeed
    Eden Haiku: Yes
Adams Rubble: we have everything we need if we know where to look :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: I'm a very lucky person, I accidently fell into being self employed and it worked out...
    Eliza Madrigal: very good fortune
Eden Haiku: That's very lucky Cat!
Eliza Madrigal: hehe, lucky cat ^^
    Adams Rubble: :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: lol :) I do seem to land on my feet
    Eliza Madrigal: !!
Eden Haiku: A Japanese luck cat :)
    Eden Haiku: Kitty Cat :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Eliza Madrigal: younger daughter collects those and wow they have so many different kinds, lots of symbolism and kinds of luck
Catrinamonblue Resident: oh very cool :)
Eden Haiku: Read somewhere that the young designer of Kitty Kat had no idea her drawing would be such a world wide success

    --BELL--

    Searching for Kitty Kat

    Kitty Kat cartoon.jpg

The famous Kitty Cat cartoon image: the Japanese lucky charm

Eliza Madrigal: do you have a link to that image Eden?
Eliza Madrigal: am sure you aren't talking about candy...
    Eliza Madrigal: ?
Eden Haiku: I'm back to my ‘dangerous' computer, but let me try. As soon as I go on Google search, it starts bombarding me with adverts. Maybe it calmed down.
Eliza Madrigal: ooh, no need to risk it
Eliza Madrigal: Adams have been enjoying reading bits about your buddhist study, btw. I haven't studied much about Marpa at all.
Adams Rubble: Marpa was a Tibetan who went to India to study with Naropa (student of Tilopa)
Eden Haiku: Well, I got an anti-virus ad and a inquiry from my server company. But no violent voices at least.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Adams Rubble: Marpa was the teacher of Milarepa who is very important to the Tibetans
Eden Haiku: No image either... Trying with my phone... Will copy the link.
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, don't worry Eden
Eliza Madrigal: I'm sorry didn't realize it would be cumbersome, ack!
Adams Rubble: It sounds like you might have a virus on your machine Eden. Would be a good idea to do a virus scan with a reputable software
Eliza Madrigal: I know more about Milarepa, due to songs... but you mentioned Marpa had songs and posted part of one... hadn't known that was a regular expression of his
Eliza Madrigal: our poets are important :))
Adams Rubble: Yes, i was surprised Marpa had songs too., Turns out lots of people had them at the time :)
Eliza Madrigal: it makes sense now thinking about it, for memory and transference
Adams Rubble: Shhhh. don't tell anyone, but the songs were added to the orignal biographies years later
    Eliza Madrigal: huh?
    Eliza Madrigal: by translators?
Adams Rubble: the songs are from a couple of centuries later
Adams Rubble: no during the transmissions
Eliza Madrigal: so Marpa too might be a combination of several figures
    Adams Rubble: propably oral traditions
Adams Rubble: no, not the figures but the songs

A patchwork of Marpas and Milarepas?

Adams Rubble: there probably was a historical Marpa and a historical Milarepa
Eliza Madrigal nods... but the one we get to read may be a patchwork?
Adams Rubble: there was an early biography of Milarepa
Eden Haiku: Yes, I will have to take care of that. My iMac has been infected ever since I shared my screen with a printer company (Canon) so I could let them connect my printer to Wi-Fi...Sorry to interrupt the buddhist conversation...
Adams Rubble: the songs were added along the way
Adams Rubble: some of them are wonderful
Eden Haiku: Reading back... learning Marpa wrote songs?
Eliza Madrigal: was just thinking that you should be good about your writing and poetry records Eden :) People hundreds of years from now could learn about mythical Eden ...
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Eden Haiku: :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Adams Rubble: :)
Eliza Madrigal: sorry about computer Eden :(
    Eden Haiku: Mythical Tibetan monks...:)
Eden Haiku: I like the big screen for Second Life though...
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)

    --BELL--

Adams Rubble: I must be off. It was good to see you all today :)
Adams Rubble: have a very nice day :)
    Adams Rubble: bye
Catrinamonblue Resident: i bought a big screen for working remote, love it for second life :)
Eliza Madrigal: bye Adams, you too
Eden Haiku: Nice to see you Adams. Have a good day!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Bye Adams :)
Eliza Madrigal: easier on eyes Cat?
Catrinamonblue Resident: yes and also good for having multiple progams on the same screen :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eden Haiku: Teleworking and playing :)
Eliza Madrigal: I didn't think iMacs could be easily infected with virususes
Eliza Madrigal: maybe it takes a complicated situation like with the printing company :(
Eden Haiku: I know. It's almost impossible... It might be very simple. The AdBlock just doesn't work anymore.
Eliza Madrigal: maybe an update of adblock
Eden Haiku: I can't carry the beast to the Apple Store. Its's 24 inches wide and very heavy.
    Eliza Madrigal: yikes
Eden Haiku: I will have to ask a technician at home
Eden Haiku: Too bad I don’t have teenage children. They would fix it :)
    Eliza Madrigal: they would try!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Eliza Madrigal: need to find one in the neighborhood
Eliza Madrigal: I'd try uninstalling and reinstalling the adblock though... maybe with a new kind
Eden Haiku: I will have to call in my "inner millenial". And maybe I will have a good intuition. You are right about records Eliza. I have to start working on my manuscript for the publishing so I can't risk to lose records...
    Eliza Madrigal: yes!
Eliza Madrigal: btw, did you work out which photos to choose?
Eden Haiku: My laptop is too full...Ah yes, I did choose the photos my companion had chosen: they were the same as the publisher’s choice. So I agreed with them both and my nieces liked them too :)
    Eliza Madrigal: perfect!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)

Macho translation and becoming a FEMEN

Eliza Madrigal: since it is taking longer to be to printed, will likely be years for english?
Eden Haiku: It’s only next August but it seems so near suddenly. Maybe I'm chickening out...
    Eliza Madrigal: oh :)
    Eliza Madrigal: anticipation
    Eliza Madrigal: You
Eden Haiku: Maybe not Eliza. It’s very different
Eliza Madrigal: are so brave :)
Eden Haiku: Sometimes translation happens quickly. I have a poetry book from 1915 being translated now.
    Eden Haiku: From 2015....
    Eliza Madrigal: lol
    Eliza Madrigal: I was boggling
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Eliza Madrigal: "now that is prolific!"
Eden Haiku: Wasn't writing back in 1915...
    Eliza Madrigal: hehhe
Eden Haiku: Translation is pretty bad though. And translator very arrogant. We are having a row...
    Eliza Madrigal: sigh
    Catrinamonblue Resident: oh dear :(
Eliza Madrigal: is that up to the publisher?
Eden Haiku: Yep! Worst thing is that he is a friend of thirty years....I agreed with the publisher. I didn't know our friend was such a bad translator...
    Eliza Madrigal: eeeek... hard
Eden Haiku: But it will be ok I'm sure. I have been letting this sit while I was moving.
Eliza Madrigal nods... even friends have to be professional with each other in such cases....for friendship too!
Eden Haiku: I am ready to let go of the book if I need to. Not allowing the translation.
    Eliza Madrigal: protective
Eliza Madrigal: that seems the right call, just not an easy one to make
Eliza Madrigal: hopefully you won't have to
Eden Haiku: Friendship will be over but the book will be protected. It’s a matter of this guy being so macho. I always knew he was.
Eden Haiku: Publisher is not though so it will be settled I'm pretty sure.
Eliza Madrigal imagines Eden's work being translated in macho way....
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eden Haiku: Sorry for my rambling :)

    --BELL--

    Can feel despairing at times

    Eliza Madrigal: not at all!
Catrinamonblue Resident: sorry guys, I need to go. Have to get some work done today.... ;)
Eliza Madrigal: :) me too , nice to see you Cat
Eden Haiku: He says "violent night" instead of "violet night"...
Catrinamonblue Resident: nice to be here :)
Eden Haiku: Nice to see you Cat, welcome back:)
Eliza Madrigal: ?!?! that's awful Eden!
Eden Haiku: I'm pretty sure this one was a typo but it shows up the mentality...
    Eliza Madrigal nods... perhaps so....
Eliza Madrigal: good for you, to be strong, and hopefully it won't come to hard limits
Eden Haiku: I wrote him politely in the beginning, just telling him I needed more time. His answer was so arrogant!
Eden Haiku: He was saying he knew all that!
    Eliza Madrigal: @@
Eliza Madrigal: so not listening really, off the bat
    Eden Haiku: Exactly.
Eden Haiku: Think I 'm going to become a FEMEN
Eden Haiku: So fed up with patriarchy sometimes...
Eliza Madrigal: I wouldn't let a sitter take care of my child if they wouldn't listen when I was giving instructions about allergies and sensitivity
Eliza Madrigal: patriarchy is very in your face these days.... which may be a good thing
Eliza Madrigal: ultimately... to be so out there and pinpointable
Eden Haiku: Have to go downstairs to open the door... Sorry Eliza. And sorry for my rambling. Hope you are ok. If you can wait I will be back shortly :)
Eliza Madrigal: not at all.... can wait a few minutes but should go too soon...
Eden Haiku: If not, have a great day. Love you, Thanks for listening
    Eliza Madrigal lingers and hums
    Eden Haiku: Back
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eden Haiku: It was the electric company to read the meter.
Eliza Madrigal: :)) I miss that
Eden Haiku: How are you doing these days Eliza?
Eliza Madrigal: won't keep you long but you were not rambling
    Eliza Madrigal: I'm a jumble :)
Eden Haiku: Thank you sweetheart, you are a master of empathy:)
Eliza Madrigal:trying to just hunker down and get normal, ie on with the work of the days
    Eden Haiku: A jumble?
Eliza Madrigal: and yet also reading a lot...
Eliza Madrigal: so guess cocooning a bit?
Eliza Madrigal: I'm reading strange things I've never been interested in before... military things, etc
Eliza Madrigal: speaking of patriarchy :)
Eden Haiku: Cocooning is a marvelous thing :)
Eden Haiku: We spend so much money on war material don't we?
    Eliza Madrigal: way too much
Eliza Madrigal: it is a mindset
    Eden Haiku: Economic reasons also...
    Eliza Madrigal nods...
Eliza Madrigal: posturing ... power does 'keep everyone safe' from some vantage points
Eliza Madrigal: but we'll never outrun that thinking....
    Eden Haiku: Yes!
Eliza Madrigal:so can feel despairing at times

    --BELL--

Eden Haiku: It’s like in the movie ‘Avatar’, the guy with the huge robot machine-gun kind of armor...
    Eliza Madrigal: brute force
Eden Haiku: And the navis all connected and sensitive and loving end up winning...
Eden Haiku: But I also get despaired sometimes about the brute forces...
Eliza Madrigal: hope you are right ... about the revelation of connection winning out :)
Eliza Madrigal: I am so puzzled by people wanting to go back to more aggressive times
Eden Haiku: I hope so too :)
Eden Haiku: Yes, it is so puzzling...
Eliza Madrigal: the Philippine president @@
Eliza Madrigal: anyway.... now I'm rambling :) but it is nice to see you.... have missed checking in even ever so lightly
Eliza Madrigal: wish you clarity in all your endeavors :)
Eden Haiku: So good to have you back this morning Eliza:)
Eliza Madrigal: I'm always reading and smiling :))
Eden Haiku: Reading and smiling :) You should run for president. President Eliza, sounds cool!
    Eliza Madrigal: scary thought :))
    Eden Haiku: :)
Eliza Madrigal: will settle for finding my voice as I get older
Eden Haiku: Wishing you clarity and finding your voice too :)
Eliza Madrigal: (((love you)))) have a healthy productive day <3
Eden Haiku: Though I can hear our voice pretty well sweet Eliza :) And your heart!
    Eliza Madrigal: :**) *thank you*
Eden Haiku: Love you too. Have a good day (((Eliza)))
