Riddle Sideways: thank you, Listener Master
                   --BELL--
    Riddle Sideways: Welcome leaping Adams
    Adams Rubble: Hello Riddle :)
Adams Rubble: nice to see you
Riddle Sideways: yes, nice to see you
Adams Rubble: do we have a topic?
    Adams Rubble: shhhh
Riddle Sideways: was soooo peaceful here with the 90-sec pauses
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: I hope I am not interrupting
Riddle Sideways: No, so far the topic was "How distracted with multitasking can one get before a bell sounds" :))
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Adams Rubble: yes
Riddle Sideways: however, not really liking and done with that topic
Adams Rubble: we can get ourselves tied in knots with multitasking
Riddle Sideways: even got the laptop tied in knots this morning
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble thinks of Incredible Hulk with a laptop
Riddle Sideways: it blue screened, Said it had had enough
Riddle Sideways: ㋡ turning green with anger
Adams Rubble: sometimes the computers just don;t want to do stuff
    Adams Rubble: like donkeys
Adams Rubble thinks there is some Buddhist parable about beating a donkey but can't remember
    Adams Rubble: maybe an ox
Riddle Sideways: yes, almost remember one of those stories
    Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: Wise guy comes along and says something really important
Riddle Sideways: for us to learn
    Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: Ah, remember it well
    Adams Rubble: :)))
    Riddle Sideways: NOT
Riddle Sideways: could have been a camel
Riddle Sideways: in another part of the world

Adams Rubble thinks of Johnny Carson
    Riddle Sideways: ha
    Adams Rubble: his big curse
    Riddle Sideways: :))
Riddle Sideways: with the turban on his head
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: well we have learned our Buddist parables well :)
Adams Rubble: one always remembers the parables from one's own religion better
Riddle Sideways: working with somebody Sunday... noted they were whistling the theme song to Johnny Carson
    Riddle Sideways: maybe
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: the early bell catches the unwarned
Riddle Sideways: yes, almost every time
                   --BELL--
Adams Rubble: have been continuing to read bell hooks
Riddle Sideways: how many books now?
Adams Rubble: she talked about how some men think about feminists as men haters
Adams Rubble: she noted that women are not going around raping men, doing violence against men and abusing young girls
Riddle Sideways: that was said a lot back in the day
Adams Rubble: I am still reading two books by bell hooks at the same time :)
    Riddle Sideways: men hating
Adams Rubble: yes, and it was a factor in the last presidential election
Riddle Sideways: No, it was worse, women were going around 'Thinking'
Adams Rubble: Hillary was never able to get her own narrative out about herself
Adams Rubble: seen as in the shadow of her husband
Adams Rubble: she was such an inspiration as a college student
Riddle Sideways: can't remember Hillary addressing feminism at all
    Adams Rubble: glass ceiling
Riddle Sideways: oh yes, her activism
Adams Rubble: it was main theme
Riddle Sideways: yes, shatter the ceiling
Riddle Sideways: White rich Men must have those groups to put down
Riddle Sideways: to stay in power
Adams Rubble: the patriarchy in any case
Adams Rubble: We need to think about whether women taking power is the answer if they just make the patriarchy broader
Riddle Sideways: are you thinking the women in power would be just the same?
Adams Rubble: it gets so complicated
Adams Rubble: in some cases women no longer struggle against the patriarchy when they get in power
Adams Rubble: look at the women in the Trump administration
Riddle Sideways: Hillary is just one sample, but she said the she would listen to all sides of any issue and try to get things right
Adams Rubble: Betsy DeVos for one
Adams Rubble: yes, Hillary usually did that but the image of her was different
Adams Rubble: It drives me nuts that she was the one who was a devout protestant who had Bible studying groups and the evangelicals were supporting a person who was anything but...
Adams Rubble: but the evnagelicals are not interested in religion, the are using religion to support the patriarchy
    Riddle Sideways: yes

Adams Rubble: oh, I am on a sopa box again :(
    Adams Rubble: soap
Riddle Sideways: patriarchy in the name of religion
Riddle Sideways: bigotry in the name of religion
Adams Rubble: I am just trying to understand what is going on in my own wee little mind
    Riddle Sideways: am also
Adams Rubble: how did it all go so wrong
Riddle Sideways: sent you a NPR link some time ago
Riddle Sideways: the end of it had "why are evangelicals supporting T" question
    Adams Rubble: the patriarchy
Adams Rubble: btw, would you please send me that museum link again?
Riddle Sideways: when pushed, why do women so strongly support and sustain this Patriarchy
                   --BELL--
Adams Rubble: that gets more complicated
Adams Rubble: both men and women are indocrinated when young
Riddle Sideways: ha, still have that slink: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Moth/49/210/121
Adams Rubble: thanks, put it in a safe place :)

Riddle Sideways: really nice to be thought of ㋡
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: It is not easy to break through lots of stuff we have been taught was true
Adams Rubble: lots of time to make others feel better
Adams Rubble: because they also suffered under patriarchy
Adams Rubble: I know that the ulimate answer of love
    Adams Rubble: ultimate
Riddle Sideways: in late teens, brains are solidifying. It helped a lot to see a show "Father Knows Best" for what it was
Adams Rubble: it is the answer to so many human problems :)
Riddle Sideways: YES! All you need is Love
Riddle Sideways: What the World needs Now

Adams Rubble: Shows like that demonstrated that the patriarchy did not make men in power happy
Adams Rubble: Do you remember the Life of Riley?
Riddle Sideways: the comic-ness of the 50's nuclear family melted down in the late 60's
Adams Rubble: he was man who suffered under the patriarchy
Riddle Sideways: yes, Riley was a whimpering bossed around guy
Adams Rubble: the Vietnam War had a huge effect on young men
    Adams Rubble: rebelled against patriarchy
Riddle Sideways: there were so many issues that had huge effects
Riddle Sideways: One's main issue breaking down
    Riddle Sideways: chain reacted
Riddle Sideways: and seeing so many other peoples issues
Riddle Sideways: having the same breaking downs
Riddle Sideways: a War, a system, not enough Love, Patriarchy
    Riddle Sideways: capitolism
    Riddle Sideways: so many -isms
    Adams Rubble: Mah fellow mericans
    Riddle Sideways: yes LBJ

                   --BELL--
Adams Rubble: I did not know that song, I was thinking of something else
Riddle Sideways: oh? what other thing
    Adams Rubble: Marat Sade Musical
Adams Rubble: the one that takes place in an insane asylum during Napoleon's reign
Riddle Sideways: So so many great quotes in that song
    Adams Rubble: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aur-t-RtOJM
Adams Rubble: I will listen to yours
Riddle Sideways: looked your's up ㋡ remember seeing some of a film of it
Adams Rubble: It was a big thing among rebels when i was in college :)
Adams Rubble: not sure there is anything to be learned from it :)
Adams Rubble: some of the things we liked in the 60s turned out to be awful
Adams Rubble: like Putney Swope movie
Riddle Sideways: many of those 60's movies did not stand the test of time
    Adams Rubble: right
Riddle Sideways: got so mad when a friend stated that the 60's got it wrong
Riddle Sideways: that the going to fix everything generation did not
Riddle Sideways: thinking it was a success even if not everything got fixed
Riddle Sideways: this weekend, daughter was stating opinions in a chat and thought 'Yes!' she came out good
Adams Rubble: when you think that the majority of that gereation are tea baggers and trump suporters, the small number of people who were resisting did an incredible job :)))
Riddle Sideways: to think some of those are still registered as Independent thinkers
Riddle Sideways: only a few, but some
Adams Rubble: the Marat Sade play was terribly provocative in its way
Riddle Sideways: and "Hair" was too
Riddle Sideways: they went to the play to see the nudity and saw a lesson
Adams Rubble: I never saw Hair
                   --BELL--
