Riddle Sideways: howdee Storm
Storm Nordwind: Hey Riddle
Riddle Sideways: really enjoying Storm being around lately
Adams Rubble: Some of us never managed to become monks :)
Storm Nordwind: You are so kind Riddle! (he says, blushing)
Adams Rubble: Storm was a monk at my very first PaB session
Storm Nordwind: What are the qualifications to becoming a monk (or equivalent), Adams?
Riddle Sideways: brb phone
Adams Rubble: Good morning Eliza :)
Adams Rubble: Eden is going to be surprised
Eliza Madrigal: Morning! ::::beams::: Storm!
Storm Nordwind: Good morning Eliza! Just in time for a morning dip?
Eliza Madrigal: I seem to be a little off my game... missed a step
Eliza Madrigal: yes, Eden will be happy :)
Eliza Madrigal: And Hi Riddle and Adams too :D
Adams Rubble: Good morning Eden :)
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Eden, all suited up!
Storm Nordwind: Hello Eden! :)
Eden Haiku: Good morning!
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Berti!
Bertram Jacobus: heya pabers ! ;-)
Adams Rubble: ohh Bert too :)
Adams Rubble: Hello Bert :)
Storm Nordwind: Bertram, hi!
Eliza Madrigal: wow, quite a morning ^.^
Bertram Jacobus: afternoon here ... ;-)
Riddle Sideways: back
Eliza Madrigal: :) er...
Eden Haiku: Hello Bertram, welcome :)
Eden Haiku: And Storm :)
Eden Haiku: Welcome back Eliza :)
Riddle Sideways: wow, a crowd .... Hi All
Eliza Madrigal: Thank you
Eden Haiku: And Riddle and Adams :)
Eliza’s Amsterdam report
Eden Haiku: Just read last part of your Amsterdam report Eliza. So interesting!
Eliza Madrigal: I have a bit of editing to do today :) Thanks
Eliza Madrigal hopes others will also make comments but I have also been catching the logs
Riddle Sideways: read some yesterday, need to check for new things
Storm Nordwind: For the out-of-touch among us, could you provide a link? :)
Eliza Madrigal: the party invitation at the pavilion is beautiful btw
Eden Haiku: Loved the fact that you said you were wearing a pink raincoat and others said no, it was rather salmon or bisque :)) LOL
Eliza Madrigal grins
Eden Haiku: Sure Storm , looking for the link
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, sure Storm... I can do that Eden
Eliza Madrigal: It is rather long at the moment though... may want to wait for edited version
Riddle Sideways: San, did a great job
Bertram Jacobus: very bright pink = may be some call that salmon ? :-)
Eliza Madrigal: I suppose so... in photos I can see it isn't exactly Eden pink
Eden Haiku: https://wiki.playasbeing.org/index.php?title=Retreats/Past_retreats/2018/2018-04_Amsterdam%2C_Netherlands/Reports%2C_Sessions%2C_and_Comments_about_the_Retreat%2F%2FMeet-up/Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: ty
Storm Nordwind: Thank you!
Eden Haiku: Long link sorry. If you use the "recent changes" tab it's easier to find...
Bleu Oleander: 's current display-name is "Bleu".
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Bleu!
Riddle Sideways: Hi Bleu
Bleu Oleander: morning all ... wow a crowd!
Storm Nordwind: Good morning Bleu!
Eden Haiku: Good morning Bleu :)
Bertram Jacobus: hehe hi bleu
Adams Rubble: Good morning bleu :)
Bleu Oleander: nice to see you all :)
Riddle Sideways: the photos were great to see
Riddle Sideways: thank you
Eliza Madrigal: thank you for seeing
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I'm not sure why some that I uploaded don't show up... perhaps the files were too large
Eliza Madrigal: I took so many, which I think is because I wish I had more from previous meetings too
Eliza Madrigal: but then, everyone wasn't carrying smartphones years before
Bleu Oleander: :)
Eden Haiku: Yep, things change really fast...:)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: (I did ask everyone if it was okay to share, btw)
Bleu Oleander: technology drives communication or vice versa
Eliza Madrigal nods
Riddle Sideways: was looking at past retreat reports and a few got very little text or pics
Eliza Madrigal: Berti didn't take photos I don't think... was so calm and bright, just taking things in
Eliza Madrigal: :)
--BELL--
Hybridization
Eden Haiku: Can you tell us more about "hybridization" of PaB Eliza :)
Bertram Jacobus: that´s right : i didn´t take any photos, sry. i´m not a good photographer and am, above that, a bit influenced from the buddhists ideas of fugacity and dropping and such - letting go ... but may be, i only support my lazyness that way (?) ... ;-)
Eliza Madrigal smiles
Riddle Sideways: smiles
Bleu Oleander: sometimes taking photos keeps me from really listening and taking in my experiences
Eden Haiku: I think everybody here attended a RL PaB retreat of some sort, except me, am I right?
Bleu Oleander: me either
Eliza Madrigal: everyone here has met another pab-er
Bleu Oleander: yes
Eden Haiku: oh I thought you attended some Princeton event Bleu?
Bertram Jacobus: on the other hand, i should do everything for the welfare of all beings - which may mean, to "offer a photoservice" - hmm ... ;-)
Bleu Oleander: that's how I got started ... meeting with Pema, Adams and Fael ... salon in Princeton
Eliza Madrigal: "the opposite of a great truth is another great truth" ?Bert ;-)
Riddle Sideways: hmmm, the possiblities
Eden Haiku: Ah, not a retreat but meeting many RL avatars :) I met only Fox, once, in Montreal.
Eliza Madrigal: (to which Wester at some point said, "Or, it is not..." with perfect timing)
Bertram Jacobus: hehe. ty eliza for that solution ! :-D
Adams Rubble just finished reading Eliza's account
Eliza Madrigal: wow fast reading Adams
Bleu Oleander: we organized a salon for our rl group to talk about "reality" with Pema and got swept into sl :)
Eden Haiku: Loved de 1.3 bicycle anecdote too. The point 3 being for having a stolen one:)
Riddle Sideways: it is a short account, Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bleu Oleander: yes really enjoyed your account Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: ty
Adams Rubble: Funny but I was once thinking it would be nice to interview people who stopped attending sessions for the Chronicles andt you seem to have done that nicely in Amsterdam
Adams Rubble: nice meeting you in Princeton Bleu :)
Eden Haiku: so, can you tell us more about "hybridization" the way you see it Eliza?
Bleu Oleander: likewise Adams!
Eliza Madrigal: that's a good idea, actually. I'm sure there is so much to say... but I was refreshed to hear that it wasn't as straight forward as I thought... ie loss of interest
Adams Rubble: and meeting Storm and Eliza in princeton too :)
Eliza Madrigal: :))
Eliza Madrigal: Hybridization...
Eliza Madrigal: it is the word that kept coming to mind, because I could see that it is already happening/has already happened
Eliza Madrigal: but maybe there is a way of being actually on board with it
Eden Haiku: Flowing from SL to RL and back?
Riddle Sideways: noted that the 10yr photo in Princeton and the current photo show that Eliza has not aged, at all
Eden Haiku: As we all do in our lives?
Batteries recharged
Eliza Madrigal: we still sort of seat ourselves in SL, although even those who don't attend sessions regularly, are still in love with PaB
Eliza Madrigal is thankful for Riddle's kindness and bisque colored glasses
Eden Haiku: :0
Bleu Oleander: :)
Riddle Sideways: ㋡ and lag in chat
Eden Haiku: Still in love with PaB is a wonderful thing to hear :)
Eliza Madrigal: it is, was...
Eliza Madrigal: I've felt, bleu can tell you, kind of blank about the group, when I was trying to picture the future
Eliza Madrigal: the party was seeming a challenge to stir ideas for, etc
Eliza Madrigal: even though I wanted to be involved
Bleu Oleander: the poetry event is really coming together nicely
Eliza Madrigal: but hearing/seeing the love changed that (end report) lol
Eliza Madrigal is excited
Eliza Madrigal: Are there many reading?
Bleu Oleander: that's great to hear
Bleu Oleander: yes a dozen or so reading
Eliza Madrigal: @@
Eden Haiku: Your enthusiasm is so palpable in your report Eliza!
Eliza Madrigal: it is genuine ^^
Eden Haiku: Yes!
Riddle Sideways: batteries recharged
Bleu Oleander: its making me re-think my interests in PaB too Eliza, so thank you for that :)
Adams Rubble: may I suggest that the future is in each of our own explorations into the nature of reality
Eliza Madrigal: that's the best news, Bleu
Bertram Jacobus tries, as always and may be well known by some here, to handle all the english words and texts of the wiki and from here , sl ... ;-)
Adams Rubble: can’t expect the group to do it for us
Eden Haiku: Yes Adams. good point.
Bleu Oleander: but the group does influence us individually too ... kind of a loop
Adams Rubble: I know I am not done yet :)
Eliza Madrigal: sorry to flood a bit, Bert : )
--BELL--
Bertram Jacobus: not your fault or anybody else's eliza !
Riddle Sideways: Bret, add to that the typos, mis-spelting and ummm bad grammar
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Adams Rubble: oh yes bleu, we are doing our explorations with the group
Bertram Jacobus: and i´m happy with all that (!) :-)
Bleu Oleander: the group feeds my energy needs and then each of us feed back into the group ... can spiral the other way too and perhaps some of us felt that it was so really nice to know about all the positive feelings
Adams Rubble: Lately Riddle has been helping me with my explorations on Tuesday mornings :)
Eliza Madrigal: I was really struck by that sense of, everyone is already doing pab on their own, and then yes, that comes back to sessions
Riddle Sideways: "When two or more are gathered" :-)
Adams Rubble: in big groups I get lazy and sit back and let everyone else talk
Adams Rubble: also I do not think fast enough
Bleu Oleander: :)
Adams Rubble: things fly by
Eliza Madrigal is opposite... fingers ahead of mind...
Bleu Oleander: thinking slow is good
Bertram Jacobus: from my side it is like this : although i didn´t attend much the group sadly since quite a long while, i nevertheless appreciate very much that it is still existent and vivid and supported by some ! not only few even, i think ...
Bertram Jacobus: and i am and was very much inspired to join a bit more again if my time allows, hopefully ...
Adams Rubble: wonderful Bert!
Riddle Sideways: yes, good
Eden Haiku: Wonderful news Bertram!
Bleu Oleander: great Bert
Eliza Madrigal would certainly value your participation when able, Bert
Eliza Madrigal: (does)
Adams Rubble: and a few pages back, wonderful you are reconsidering too Bleu :)
Bertram Jacobus: hehe - yes. just now a try already eliza ;-)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: And Storm... I mean, I feel wow about you being here
Eden Haiku: Yes!
Storm Nordwind smile
Poetry reading and Book Club
Bertram Jacobus: mick said something of that kind as well, if i understood him correctly (?) ... (that he also would like to attend more again) ...
Storm Nordwind: You should thank San for reaching out to me about the poetry recital.
Adams Rubble hopes Storm will be here for MY tenth anniversary
Eliza Madrigal looks to sc
Eliza Madrigal: oops*
Adams Rubble: San was busy; she reached out to me too about the poetry contest
Eliza Madrigal: aw, ty San
Riddle Sideways: ty San
Storm Nordwind: Oh no! I didn't know it was a contest Adams!?!
Adams Rubble: hehe, my mistake
Storm Nordwind chuckles
Adams Rubble: poetry event
Bleu Oleander: the party group decided that we had to make an individual effort to reach out and San was great to offer to do that!
Eliza Madrigal: @Berti, I think Mick jumped into the poetry session too!
Bleu Oleander: yes Mick's in !!
Eliza Madrigal: that's great
Bleu Oleander: and most have images with their readings!
Riddle Sideways: and Mick is doing the Book club
Bertram Jacobus: yeah - he was considering that, wasn´t he eliza ? :-)
Eliza Madrigal: yes
Bertram Jacobus: :-)
Eden Haiku: Starting on Thursday with "Conversation with the Birds"?
Eliza Madrigal: Mick is definitely stirred
Bleu Oleander: this thursday?
Eliza Madrigal: After the party I believe
Bleu Oleander: ok good
Eden Haiku: Ah yes... easier!
Bleu Oleander: am half way through book :)
Silence and whispering snows
Riddle Sideways: then there are times it is nice to sit at a quiet fountain in a SL while the mad first life goes zing
Eden Haiku: smiles
Eliza Madrigal: :) indeed so
Bleu Oleander: :)
Adams Rubble keeps interrupting Riddle's quiet time
Riddle Sideways: no way
Eliza Madrigal giggles
Eliza Madrigal: Wol was mentioning... maybe sometimes taking a cue from Riddle and talking to the listener more
Eliza Madrigal: when sessions are quiet
Adams Rubble: Wol is out there on the frontier
Bleu Oleander: the listener is really "us"
Eliza Madrigal: the wiki doesn't have 'likes' and such that let us know when others are reading, but seems they/we are
Riddle Sideways: Listener Master is such a great listener
--BELL--
Bleu Oleander: must slip out, early meeting today ... lovely to see you all :)
Riddle Sideways: funny how the 'comment' section on the logs is not used much
Adams Rubble: bye bleu :)
Storm Nordwind waves
Bleu Oleander: bye bye
Riddle Sideways: by bleu, thanks
Eliza Madrigal: bye bleu ^.^
Eden Haiku: And does Wol knows how much we enjoy the oddball bell ringing at odd times?
Bertram Jacobus: byee bleu
Eden Haiku: Bye Bleu
Eliza Madrigal: that would have been good to ask :)
Adams Rubble: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Agatha has mentioned missing the old ding 'sound' a lot though
Eliza Madrigal: a gentle ding...
Riddle Sideways: knows Wol knows that the jokes are meant as high praise
Eden Haiku: Oh, I can't remember the old "ding sound...[and then we hear it!]
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Riddle Sideways: ooooooh nice
Eden Haiku: Ah!
Bertram Jacobus: time flies by ...
Bertram Jacobus: is running fast ...
Eden Haiku: Yes, and we have to tell Wol that Riddle notices everuthing about the bell and tries to figure out why the bell is going to ring in 627 seconds at 7:57:52 :))
Eliza Madrigal giggles
Riddle Sideways: not the only one that notices :))))
Eden Haiku: Yes, Bert. time flies...
Storm Nordwind: Perhaps Riddle has a stopwatch checking to see whether the bell is being truthful or not?
Bertram Jacobus: ...
Eden Haiku: Does he?
Bertram Jacobus: a whisper in the dark ...
Riddle Sideways: well, somebody has to check the random number generator for accuricity
Adams Rubble: hehe
Eliza Madrigal: a random generator of quality control
Eden Haiku: Yes Bert, I whisper like the bell: for no reason at all. Never found out why...
Storm Nordwind peers outside his RL window to see heavy snow falling o_O
Eden Haiku: "accuricity¨ is the speeling of the day!
Eliza Madrigal: wow, isn't it late for heavy snow, Storm?
Eden Haiku: Snow?
Riddle Sideways: mmmm, snow
Bertram Jacobus: myteries of life eliza ? ... :-)
Eliza Madrigal: so many...
Eden Haiku: April snow in Colorado wow!
Storm Nordwind: Not really late. The mountains breath upon us.
Bertram Jacobus: yess ! agree ...
Eden Haiku: Ah yes, this sentence in your report about each other being mysteries to each other.
Adams Rubble: we did not get any snow last week, finally
Eden Haiku: So true.
Eliza Madrigal: a slight change of context or angle and so much opens
Eden Haiku: About snow and about life mysteries :)
Riddle Sideways: indeed
Adams Rubble: /the threads have mixed in with one another
Eden Haiku: Hybridization of realities
Eliza Madrigal: we were all just looking out of storm's window in a way
Riddle Sideways: yes
Eden Haiku: Yes, all looking over his shoulder :)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Storm Nordwind reminds himself to wash the window before anyone else looks out of it in future...
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: braiding all these threads
Eden Haiku: Intertwining in torsades
Adams Rubble: whispering snows
Storm Nordwind: Braids like party balloon streamers
Eden Haiku: whisperings snows in the dark
And then there were five
Eden, Eliza, Riddle, Adams and Storm
Bertram Jacobus: dears, i´ll leave - hope to see you all soon again - ty for the meeting and gathering - have a nice time ! *wave* ...
Adams Rubble: whispering snows in the dark caverns of our minds
Eliza Madrigal: ((berti))) so nice to see you
Storm Nordwind waves
Adams Rubble: bye Bert :)
Eden Haiku: Thank you Bertram. Hoping to see you soon :)
Riddle Sideways: thank you, Bert
Adams Rubble: thanks for coming
Eden Haiku: Yes, thank you for being here with us :)
Bertram Jacobus: ty all again very much - for all your contributions over such a long time in this group ! ... namasté ...
Riddle Sideways: have your best evening
Eden Haiku: Good evening!
Adams Rubble: and then there were five
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Riddle Sideways: looks at fingers
Riddle Sideways: so nice to be lost in: [07:53] Eliza Madrigal: a slight change of context or angle and so much opens
Eden Haiku: Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend the parties this week end as I will be on book tour in Quebec City.
--BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: aw
Riddle Sideways: oooooooooo Boo Hoo
Eden Haiku: Would you be available to susbtitute next Monday Adams?
Riddle Sideways: cancel the parties
Eden Haiku: smiles at baby Riddle :)
Eliza Madrigal: a book tour sounds wonderful though. Is that what you're dressed for today? :))
Riddle Sideways: idea: we repeat the parties the next weekend for any that missed them
Eliza Madrigal: hahah
Riddle Sideways: and us again
Adams Rubble: Yes, unless something unforeseen I will be here Eden
Eden Haiku: Yep!
Adams Rubble missing the days of having a session of my own
Eden Haiku: Great Adams, thanks. I will be back late on Monday.
Riddle Sideways: only eat some of the cake and dance on it the next week
Eliza Madrigal still finds is strange, your not holding session
Adams Rubble: people stopped coming
Eden Haiku: Maybe you will reconsider if many more come to sessions Adams?
Eden Haiku: Sunday morning wasn't the easiest spot...
Adams Rubble: when I go to someone else's session they can't leave :)
Eliza Madrigal: :))
Riddle Sideways: there are still mornings availalbe to sit on the park bench together
Eden Haiku: Yes, wise :)
Eden Haiku: Feeling very grateful for your support at my session Adams :)))
Adams Rubble: awwww
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Adams Rubble: Riddle is more faithful
Eden Haiku: Riddle is very faithful. I do appreciate a lot.
Riddle Sideways: copying those lines... some would not agree
Eden Haiku: hehe
Eliza Madrigal: haha
Eliza Madrigal: I'm so curious to see what happens, now and next
Eden Haiku: Me too :)
Riddle Sideways: nope... can wait and see
Adams Rubble: :)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eden Haiku: Riddle is a wise man and we are swooning girlies :)
Eliza Madrigal: wait with alertness?
Eden Haiku: Listening to our heart
Adams Rubble: if I ever get the love thing down right, I will be so busy helping people I'll never have time for PaB
Storm Nordwind considers the advantages of being a swooning girlie...
Eliza Madrigal: ...
Eden Haiku: many advantages yes :)
Riddle Sideways: lol at all those lines
Eden Haiku: I see what you mean Adams :)
Eliza Madrigal: PaB is people you can help, Adams :)
Eden Haiku: True, you are a healing soul Adams :)
Eden Haiku: And we can feel it through the screen
Eden Haiku: But then, there are million of refugees...who would need us.
Eliza Madrigal: maybe in such times as these, ever more potent to meet and center
Eden Haiku: Yes, Eliza.
Riddle Sideways: and thinking that the Patriarchy thing done right will take a loooooong time
Eliza Madrigal: :)))
Adams Rubble: :)
Eden Haiku: smiles
Adams Rubble: I just read Secrets We Kept by Krystal A. Sital about patriarchy and other nasty stuff
Riddle Sideways: so many advantages of being a swooning girlie, decides to go there
Adams Rubble: about women in trinidad
Eden Haiku: Arundhati Roy (Indian writer): "A new world is not only possible: she is on her way. By a quiet afternoon, I can hear her breathing."
Riddle Sideways: ... thank you for that
Eden Haiku: Roy is such an inspiring writer! She said that in 2003 at the Altermondialist congress in Porto Alegre in Brazil. You can find her speech on YouTube.
Eliza Madrigal: there are two main books of hers, I think? was close to purchasing one before travel but ultimately couldn't decide
Eden Haiku: Link to her speech: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uu3t8Z-kavA
Eliza Madrigal: ty :)
Adams Rubble opens another tab for Riddle
Adams Rubble: :)
Eden Haiku: God of Small Things won the Booker Prize many years ago.
Eden Haiku: Bought The Utmost Ministry of Happiness last Summer, still unread though.
Riddle Sideways: ty
Eden Haiku: Can't wait to have some quiet time to start reading that.
--BELL--
