Riddle Sideways: great leaping in, Adams
Riddle Sideways: and very nice outfit
Adams Rubble: Good morning Riddle :)
Riddle Sideways: is that dress special?
Adams Rubble: Just some old thing I found in my inventory
Riddle Sideways: hahaha
Adams Rubble: It is called a zen outfit
Riddle Sideways: roses or lotuseses
Adams Rubble: not sure
Adams Rubble: I guess we don't need none of Nunavut today
Riddle Sideways: let's see; hello-check, compliments-check, how are you?
Adams Rubble: Nunavut
Riddle Sideways: giggles
Riddle Sideways: no actually laughs
Adams Rubble: I am OK. my RL person is suffering from a cold but that is in the other place. How are you?
Riddle Sideways: doing fine in several persons
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: ok, on to weather
Adams Rubble: 67 degrees and partly sunny here
Riddle Sideways: very nice days here. 50F now, but should go to 74
Adams Rubble: It tarted at 50 here this morning
Adams Rubble: started
Riddle Sideways: check. how about that patriarchy
Riddle Sideways: there was a really good typo
Adams Rubble: ohhhh
Riddle Sideways: have not been able to re-find
Adams Rubble: patriarchy still going strong
Riddle Sideways: maybe Politiarchy
Adams Rubble: I am reading a book called Eloquent Rage by Brittany Cooper
Adams Rubble: It is about struggles of black women
Riddle Sideways: wha! off hooks?
Riddle Sideways: /listens
Adams Rubble: She sometimes writes about hooks
Adams Rubble: her main argument seems to be that women need to love women
Adams Rubble: that is to support each other
Adams Rubble: but I have not gotten too far
Adams Rubble: I still have about half of bell hooks' All About Love to read yet
Adams Rubble: that's my book report
Adams Rubble: thinking about lots of things in terms of patriarchy has been revealing
Riddle Sideways: for 2 years have really been wondering about women supporting women
Riddle Sideways: I bet
Adams Rubble: can you say more?
Riddle Sideways: not sure if it the "if you buy a VW, you'll see them on the road everywhere" syndrome
Riddle Sideways: or the election maddness we were in
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: the election maddness is easier to understand in terms of the patriarchy
Adams Rubble: women buy into it as well as men
Adams Rubble: sometimes single mothers go overboard in bringing up their sons in the patriarchy
Adams Rubble: not all, mind you
Adams Rubble: bell hooks talks about that
Adams Rubble: then of course there is all the propaganda put out
Adams Rubble: if the only news is a right wing perspective, people do not know anything else
Adams Rubble talks too much
Riddle Sideways: and adopted kids sometimes get overcompensated in whatever ethinecal roots
Adams Rubble: yes, can see that
Riddle Sideways: am slow/laggy today... reading and typing to long back lines
Adams Rubble: ohhhhh
Adams Rubble: I read my thermomenter wrong -- it is 62
Riddle Sideways: have talked before about the side of road the news channel gets personalized to each
Adams Rubble: yes
Riddle Sideways: oh, have an app for that. and still read it wrong
Riddle Sideways: it was all the hope and daylight during Hillery's run
Riddle Sideways: of women supporting women
Riddle Sideways: then several books/studies on Black Women holding society together
Riddle Sideways: and of course long talks with daughter
Riddle Sideways: the number of women running for elected office now
Riddle Sideways: the list goes on
Adams Rubble nods
Adams Rubble: it has been a roller coaster ride
Riddle Sideways: watched "The Post" couple nights ago
Riddle Sideways: so much about a women owner of The Washington Post
Adams Rubble: ohhh
Riddle Sideways: not being heard in board meetings
Adams Rubble: have not seen that yet
Riddle Sideways: there is a previous book telling her earlier story too
Riddle Sideways: forget the title
Adams Rubble: we have just witnessed Hillary being slammed
Riddle Sideways: however, now it seems so many more women into high positions
Adams Rubble: yes there are
Adams Rubble: but great inequities in salary
Riddle Sideways: and all the commentary that goes on and on on that
Riddle Sideways: yes, still
Adams Rubble: does not help that 1% take all the money
Adams Rubble: blame it all on the patriarchy
Riddle Sideways: of 50.8% of the population having only 19.4% of congress
Adams Rubble giggles
Adams Rubble giggled at own comment not Riddles
Riddle Sideways: ha
Riddle Sideways: now, looking for yesterday's chat comment
Riddle Sideways: it went by fast
Riddle Sideways: ah! Eden Haiku: Rules of the monarchy are so patriarchal!
Riddle Sideways: not need to look at monarchy again
Riddle Sideways: but, looking to Africa
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: funny that in England the had a female monarch for 2/3 of the 19th century and one for half of the 20th and still going on 1/5 of the way into the 21st and it is still patriarchal--yes women can support patriarchy but both Voctoria and Elizabeth fought against it too
Adams Rubble: not such a great meditation response
Riddle Sideways: no, that pause was not peaceful
Riddle Sideways: Women in Africa (big continuent, is a big generalization:( ) hold the society together, get everything done and still take the worst of it
Adams Rubble: in some of the traditional villages, women had their own section, from which they could keep the patriarchy at bay. If they felt a man was cruel to a woman, all the women would put pressure that would cause the men to resolve their patriachy ussie
Adams Rubble: issue
Adams Rubble: I guess it brings us back to women loving and supporting women
Riddle Sideways: as a local tribe, village, community
Riddle Sideways: now, enter soldiers
Riddle Sideways: from far different places and then go away
Riddle Sideways: can not have pressure put on
Adams Rubble: colonization broke up many of the old African inatitutions
Adams Rubble: It is hard to talk about Afica though because so much history has been lost
Riddle Sideways: not talking so much about history, more about the present
Adams Rubble: yes, I know
Riddle Sideways: there still being a Slave Trades going on
Riddle Sideways: human trafficing
Adams Rubble nods
Riddle Sideways: listened to a long thing on the Russian ISIS women taken to (Uganda?)
Riddle Sideways: that could phone home lots
Riddle Sideways: and now that is cut
Riddle Sideways: nobody knowing anything about the missing women, babies
Riddle Sideways: small stories that get lost in the News Flood stream
Riddle Sideways: partner is a huge News junkie and is really having trouble keeping up with just California
Riddle Sideways: so many things going on here
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: yes
Adams Rubble: here too
Riddle Sideways: yes
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: we just got rid of a bad hombre governor
Riddle Sideways: we have a great governor. Yet, we have to defend this and attack that and sue for this and support our own on that ...
Riddle Sideways: far toooooo many issues. can't stand on this soapbox to list them all
Adams Rubble: build the soap boxes higher!!!
Adams Rubble: pile them together
Adams Rubble: Man the barricades
Adams Rubble: Can you hear the people sing.....
Riddle Sideways: images of French barricades
Riddle Sideways: Feels a musicial coming on
Adams Rubble: :)

Adams Rubble: going to watch the movie
Riddle Sideways: ooo have always loved the HAIR music
Adams Rubble needs to catch up with the sixties
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: the right music for that stage of life
Riddle Sideways: use to have loong hair
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: Give me a head with hair.....
Riddle Sideways: the little bits left are still long
Riddle Sideways: used most of those songs as support for long beautiful hair, flowing twisted hair
Riddle Sideways: oh darn have forgotten the order of the words
Adams Rubble: they can always be googled or youtubed :)
Riddle Sideways: as said in another session ㋡ People came to the musical for the nudity and stayed for the message
Riddle Sideways: or spaghetti-ed
Adams Rubble: I met a boy called Frank Mills On September twelfth right here In front of the Waverly But unfortunately I lost his address
Adams Rubble: ...I love him but it embarrasses me To walk down the street with him
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: ㋡
Riddle Sideways: little old lady came over and sat on the bus bench once
Riddle Sideways: turned and said "the very nice boy across the street from her has long hair
Riddle Sideways: and maybe you are nice like him"
Adams Rubble: :)
--BELL--
