Qt Core: while i almost learned to appreciate it the idea of a "salted" as in not sweet! breakfast is really upsetting for italians

Wol Euler: thte differences seem larger to us than they would to non-germans

Wol Euler: well, so do we, that is generally southern German

Wol Euler: the difference in the accents (bavarian vs swabian, my local) is how we deal with the final consonants of words
Wol Euler: it always struck me that bavarian sounds faster and harsher than swabian, and I figured out why
Wol Euler: we shorten words by leaving out the final vowel
Wol Euler: wrong. damn

Wol Euler: laufen on its own does mean to run
Wol Euler: what I was thinking of is something different
Wol Euler: "wir gehen im wald laufen" means going for a walk in the woods

Wol Euler: but the active verb there is gehen, literally walk, rather than laufen which in this case just means "for a long time/distance"

Qt Core: we have even the direct translatin of nr. 13 as in "spaesamento", but it just mean being confused, as one woulld in another country

Qt Core: just checked japanese with google translator... it sound almost italian (said by a little kid)

Qt Core: it is almost scary how many languiages are similar in it, from icelandic to chinese
Wol Euler: mmmmm is the first and simplest sound a baby can deliberately make
Wol Euler: language would probably never have gotten started if the first proto-humans had insisted on "maternal parental unit" instead of "ma"
