Lila Darkmatter: I'm not sure if PaB-SL has. It has changed a few times, yes... going from more direct investigation aiming, to more community celebration
Lila Darkmatter: the notion of Playasbeing goes on I think, in various ways in anyone who has participated here

Lila Darkmatter: but... I don't feel a release, is one way to say it
Lila Darkmatter: I value our times here still and don't wish to be without them

Bleu Oleander: perhaps our avatars are seen as a distraction and there's a desire to reveal more of who we really are?

Eos Amaterasu: maybe when we were doing RL retreats 4 times a year it added a certain energy or tension
Lila Darkmatter: I've had that desire too, and yet there isn't right now, another workable container to jump into

Lila Darkmatter: Walter Iasaacson is going to write another book soon... about the intersection of science and the humanities. Curiously, I happened to be reading TSK (aloud, into a recorder because it isn't out on audio yet) and that is what the introduction is about
Lila Darkmatter: I was struck by the parallels between what W.I. was saying about what he's noticed about people who really connect /ideas that have traction

Eos Amaterasu: we are the biggest effect on our planet, and so we have to learn how we affect and effect ourselves

Eos Amaterasu: the interplay of SL and RL I find very enticing, interesting, powerful
Lila Darkmatter: I found the RL retreats very powerful, even though I wasn't sure I was for them in the beginning. A yearly retreat/workshop type thing is still a very powerful idea
Bleu Oleander: a sense of know each other, first here and then in other ways
Eos Amaterasu: yeah, lets you see and free yourself from here and the other ways

Lila Darkmatter: I think stevenaia felt that it needed more interest to pull off in the spot he was thinking of... but it would be good to ask him
Lila Darkmatter: I think about it here all the time... am always making note of hotel deals or places that might be nice meeting spots
Lila Darkmatter: but... hard to be inclusive
Lila Darkmatter: that's the gift of SL ... Face to face, in a way, and inclusive of nearly anyone

Eos Amaterasu: I've been in hangouts of 7 people, worked well
Lila Darkmatter: what about people talking over one another.. skype just between two or three can be confusing in that sense
Eos Amaterasu: but mixed SL and video meetings would break various spells perhaps

Lila Darkmatter: true, but we have scrolling
Lila Darkmatter: I prob depend on that too much
