The Guardian for this meeting was Wol.

    Bertram Jacobus: hi qt !
    Qt Core: Hi Bert
Bertram Jacobus: i saw : wol is not here ? - were you here yesterday as well ?
Qt Core: no, i wasn't, i think Wol is in Canada
Bertram Jacobus: oh ? why is that ?
Qt Core: she went on the 22, maybe there are something related to her father death
    Bertram Jacobus: oh i see
Bertram Jacobus: how are you ?!

Qt Core: i'm quite good, i had a wonderful experience this week, with pab undertones too
    Qt Core: you ?
Bertram Jacobus: ty. i´m fine. i learn. which undertones you mean ?
Qt Core: i went to see "The floating piers" and i went alone (ok, with some other tens of thousands people) i could almost meditate while visiting it
    Bertram Jacobus: greaatt !
Qt Core: i'm speaking about this: http://www.thefloatingpiers.com/#introduction
Bertram Jacobus: but that IS a installation which goes close to special experiences of perceptions and such i guess !
Bertram Jacobus: for sure i know that site and the project
Bertram Jacobus: i´m a big fan of it !

    --BELL--

Qt Core: yes, a piece of art expecially thought for people to walk on and enjoy in a quite ohisical way
    Qt Core: *phisical
Bertram Jacobus: such a great idea
    Bertram Jacobus: such beauty
    Bertram Jacobus: wonderful
Qt Core: and i got a very nice sunny day too, some pic i toke even with an horrible stain on the lens: https://goo.gl/photos/2y7vum4C6u5jvi8P9
    Bertram Jacobus: brilliant , genial
    Bertram Jacobus: *click*
Bertram Jacobus: so you even saw "the master" !
    Qt Core: yes ;-)
    Bertram Jacobus: wow
Bertram Jacobus: that was lucky, wasn´t it ?
Qt Core: quite happy about it
Bertram Jacobus: very lucky, wow - to get such impressions from such a person ! congrats !
Bertram Jacobus: the pictures look very professional !
Qt Core: ty, but most is done vy the automatic setting of the camera

Bertram Jacobus: a great collection and arrangement of impressions - really good
Bertram Jacobus: and i ty for that ...
Bertram Jacobus: although i meanwhile saw already really quite some of it ...
Qt Core: the pab undertones were mostly thought about the movement of the piers under my feet and their relation to what you can't control in life
    Bertram Jacobus: i see ...
    Qt Core: or can't know/foresee
    Bertram Jacobus: yes ...
    Bertram Jacobus: good point
    Bertram Jacobus: important one
Qt Core: then there was the thought about it being alive and the surprise of seeing it breathing as in an area where it is rocked more my the waves some air het between the fabric and the structure
Bertram Jacobus: there are esoteric people who state a lot these days one could control everything. i don´t agree
Bertram Jacobus: yeh - sounds interesting ...
Qt Core: in an almost statistical way at most you can be ready for everything, not really in control and not 100^
    Qt Core: 100%
    Bertram Jacobus: yes.
Bertram Jacobus: and to me life often means simply movement
Qt Core: then there are those irrational emotional response ;-)
Bertram Jacobus: yeh. terrible ! ;-)

Qt Core: when i went to see an eclipse i knew what would happen, i even saw pictures of eclipses, and pass to be quite cold (for an italian) but i still got weak at the knees when it happened with me there
    Bertram Jacobus: ;-) ... ^^

    --BELL--

Bertram Jacobus: that must have been a very special experience, extraodinary
    Bertram Jacobus: oops
Qt Core: mind went away for a few seconds, then come back with the thought "i now know why the ancients may get really really scared about it"

Bertram Jacobus: but i´m very sry : i´m so tired that i feel, i "had to" log off for now - sry pls dear qt
Bertram Jacobus: i read it ... still read it ... and try to feel it ...
    Qt Core: bye Ber
    Qt Core: t
Bertram Jacobus: very interesting, but ... when life, physis claims it´s need like with tiredness - nearly nothing can´t be done against it - scusi ! ...
Bertram Jacobus: so hope to see you again qt, have a nice time until next meeting ! *wave* ...
    Qt Core: np. rest

    --BELL--

    Wol Euler: good morning Qt
    Qt Core: Hi Wol
Wol Euler: sorry I'm late, I slept through the alarm
    Qt Core: np, jetlag ?
    Wol Euler: yeah
Wol Euler: I got back yesterday morning
Qt Core: we (bert eas here thought you was still in Canada
    Qt Core: )
Qt Core: at my second attempt i got to The Floating Piers this week
Wol Euler: ah! what did you think?
Qt Core: wonderful you get a ling in the note too, but: https://goo.gl/photos/2y7vum4C6u5jvi8P9
    Wol Euler: reading ..... ty
    Wol Euler: wow
    Qt Core: :-)
Wol Euler: now I wish even more that I had been able to go see it
Wol Euler: (just a sec, I need to wash my face :)
Qt Core: technically it ends today at midnight
Qt Core: but as today is a wonderful sunny day and last one i expect a HUGE crowd

    --BELL--

    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: two other friends went to see it, they said the crowds were enormous
Wol Euler: but still enjoyed it very much
Qt Core: they planned for half a million people and they are already well past one million
    Wol Euler nods.
    Wol Euler: problems of success
Qt Core: i experienced some queue, but with this number i think it could not go better than that
Wol Euler: well I would expect a queue of some length with any event of this kind
Wol Euler: how long did you have to wait?

Qt Core: i really appreciated the very positive approach, energy and attitude of the local public transport guys
    Wol Euler smiles.
Qt Core: to enter just twenty minutes, but then while on Montisola (the isle in the lake) it toke almost an hour for a walk one can do in some 5 minutes
    Wol Euler: wow
Qt Core: it made me fear i would not be able to get to the last bus to get to where i parked my car.
Qt Core: but 1) i made it in time and 2) the guy that was herding the queue to the buses told that they were just going on until all got to one
    Wol Euler: excellent
Qt Core: and then i hard that that would means extending the already speclal service from 22:00 to 1:00 or 2:00
    Wol Euler nods.
Qt Core: to be honest ending ity at 22 was a little stupid as the last entry... when it closed was at 22, with last exit planned at 0:00
Qt Core: (and then several night it just did not close)
Wol Euler: I hope somebody had thought about that and arranged it with the buses, not just left it to their public spirit to keep on working

Wol Euler: I'm really surprised that it stayed open all night, I would have thought that the liability would forbid that
Wol Euler: my, how old I sound :)
Qt Core: someone should have approved the overtime, the gas refills and the police too
Qt Core: it was originally planned to stay open 24/7
Qt Core: they had to close a few times for maintenance
Qt Core: they deployed some led light with big batteries to light it in the night
    Wol Euler: ah
Qt Core: the biggest issues i heard were: people not ready for the walk and sun and getting ill (someone seasick too) and the garbage collection of those little town almost village unable to cope
Wol Euler: I doubt that he'd have been able to build that in Germany, people here are so concerned with security and public safety
    Wol Euler nods.
Qt Core: i loved to hear a 3/4 years old girl screaming scandalized at a bottle thrown in the lake

    --BELL--

Qt Core: (and her sheepish father telling her there are bad guys)
    Wol Euler: awwwwwww
Qt Core: next target for my summer... the area of Expo 2015 that (in a very reduced area and time) is reopening, with the Tree f Life first light show yesterday
    Wol Euler: ah
Qt Core: it is mostly based on the Triennale international exhibuition: http://www.triennale.org/en/
Qt Core: (most of it is too much Art to be understood by unrefined me ;-)
    Wol Euler chuckles.
Qt Core: this is the part happening in the expo area: http://www.triennale.org/en/mostra/c...fter-the-city/ (then there are concerts and sme othe attractions)
Wol Euler: oh I would like to see two of those shows
Wol Euler: Game Art and History of the Skyscraper
    Wol Euler: *Ages of
Qt Core: And ot is even very easy to reach, just outside the main train station of Milan
Qt Core: here you have to book your (free) visit, page only in italian, it seem http://www.consiglio.regione.lombard...delgrattacielo
Qt Core: (the en link at the top of the page won't bring you to anything useful)

    --BELL--

Qt Core: I need to go, Wol, and, if you wish and come visit some of those exhibits tell me, you can explain me the more artsy part i presume ;-)
    Wol Euler: ha, I will
Wol Euler: as far as I understand ymself :)
Wol Euler: enjoy the day, Qt
    Qt Core: you too
    Qt Core: bye
    Wol Euler: bye

When Christo and Jeanne-Claude placed the "Gates" in central park in 2009, I had the opportunity to see it. Art can truly move you beyond what you can imagine. I suspect walking on water may do that too. Here is a link to some photos I took of the Gates: https://app.box.com/s/e2bv5zoahircsj00wudhf1nicdw6lco2
    Enjoy
