    Wol Euler: buongiorno, qt
    Qt Core: buongiorno Wol

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: how's life in Italy this sunday?
Qt Core: quiet and wet outside
    Wol Euler smiles.
Qt Core: and around you ?
Wol Euler: sunny, mostly clear sky. Looks like a nice day
Wol Euler: also pretty quiet, now that you mention it there is very little traffic noise
Qt Core: sometimes the lack of traffic noise scares me.. as it is not supposed to be like that ;-)
    Wol Euler: hehehhe, yes
Wol Euler: one wonders if the end of the world was announced and one missed it?
Qt Core: today in Milan is a car free day (i don't know if my municipality is doing it too
    Wol Euler: oh wow!
Wol Euler: what a great idea.
    Wol Euler: is it popular?
Qt Core: we call them" sunday by/on feet"
    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: is it enforced in any official way? or just social pressure?
Wol Euler: is there social pressure, come to that?
Qt Core: some are planned in advance and done regardless pollution, while some are done in a hurry if pollution is too high (but then we will have even atlernate license plate days)
Qt Core: enforced, with ticket s too
    Wol Euler: good!
Qt Core: somemtimes only for small areas (like city centers) sometimes all the city
Qt Core: i usually feel guilty about them... as i usually stay at home on sundays so i can't pollute less ;-)
    Wol Euler: heheheh
Wol Euler: I suppose you could try to cut down on electricity use on such days ....
    Qt Core: sleeping helps ;-)
    Qt Core: brb
Wol Euler: I'm not a car driver so I don't pay much attention, but I think there was something like the "alternate license days" here in the summers a few years back
    Qt Core: back
Qt Core: we do that mostly in winter (wen we have more pollution)

    --BELL--

    Wol Euler: how odd :)
Wol Euler: I guess the difference is in heating. Our pollution peaks are in the summer
Wol Euler: the government spent a fortune over the last fifteen years encouraging people to modernize their heating systems, that seems to have paid off
Wol Euler: damn, didn't notice the bell :(
Qt Core: there is an ongoing battle with people having heating running on naphtha
    Wol Euler: O.O
    Wol Euler: isn't that explosive?
Wol Euler: sort of like heating your house using tiny bits of dynamite
Qt Core: it was quite common, i remember my house in the '70 using it
    Wol Euler: huh
Wol Euler: I know there are still some apartments near me that are heated with coal fires
Wol Euler: I can smell it some winter evenings
Wol Euler: I find that amazing
Wol Euler: ... but not every evening, so perhaps they are just decorative fireplaces
    Qt Core: :-)
Qt Core: i have to go rl calls (and in pab festive days even more...)
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: take care, qt, enjoy the day
    Qt Core: ciao!
