Riddle Sideways: Sorry to be so late. Computer and/or network is still sluggish.
Riddle Sideways: Thanks for covering for Riddle
eldir Resident: s'ok
eldir Resident: there was another person over by the theater balloon working on their appearance. they did not chat
Riddle Sideways: The visitor center way over yonder gets a lot of visitors lately.
Riddle Sideways: They seem to just stand and chat :)
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: here is a URL for interest: http://ideas.ted.com/2014/03/24/26-i...om-the-future/
eldir Resident: TY
eldir Resident: Ah, the Future
eldir Resident: and what big thinkers think of the future.
eldir Resident: eloquent TED celebrities put on the spot to get quotes from :)
Riddle Sideways: yes
Riddle Sideways: there are some amusing quotes in there
Riddle Sideways: eg. take a pill and know a language.
Riddle Sideways: like in The Matrix, the knowledge to expertly fly a helicopter is downloaded to (you? your avatar? that realities representation-conscienceness?)
--BELL--
eldir Resident: we could think almost each one of these through to how to get them done.
eldir Resident: Each person will have their DNA sequenced and stored for reference.
eldir Resident: as a disease, plague, neccesity, desire or neuro fixup comes along our DNA is compared against the Big Data for what nanobot string assemblage to release into what organ.
eldir Resident: However, let's chat on how these selected people might guess close to what would be in store in their perceived future projectionn
Riddle Sideways: ok
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: yet what do they 'know'?
Riddle Sideways: Ah, but we know 2 future thinking people like these
Riddle Sideways: Gary was way ahead of his time and all the rest of us
Riddle Sideways: And Mike either has it or the ability to find and bring that out of others in conversations
eldir Resident: These are eloquent thoughtful people that have come to TED and entered a mindset situation that fosters future prediction desires. They are ripe for being asked for really good quotes.
eldir Resident: I can see that Mike has an entire life of surrounding himself, engaging them and pushing thoughtful future guessing situations
eldir Resident: with that happened continually during his life all sorts of predictions come our and many would turn out true
Riddle Sideways: yes, take lots of peoples statements, melt them down to song lyrics and broadcast them.
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: song lyrics (or poetry) don't have to be fully documented design specs, just a hint at what others will go complete
Riddle Sideways: ... Imagine there's a future, I wonder if you can ...
eldir Resident: That's very interesting. write dozens of songs. put them on an album. let peer review select the better ones. They disect and discuss it.
eldir Resident: Years later we are still singing it and thinking [that artist] really predicted the future.
eldir Resident: that artist was surrounded by gifted musicans, managers-producers(gifted??) and lots of folks to help out.
Riddle Sideways: hmmm, define the future by commitee
Riddle Sideways: How did Gary do that?
eldir Resident: probably the opposite way of getting to the same place
eldir Resident: instead of one to many. Which was a bunch of one(s) creating a song and publishing it to the many.
--BELL--
eldir Resident: He took quite a few gadgets (or potentials) and made them work.
eldir Resident: After fixing/doing/solving these first practical implementation of theoretical principles he found a new use for them.
Riddle Sideways: And had a bunch gadgets, so made them work together.
Riddle Sideways: Then he went the next step and found a solution to a problem that had not been thought of yet.
Riddle Sideways: sounds simple that he made the thing record data and later randomly access that data the way somebody else might request it.
Riddle Sideways: he made that work several times
Riddle Sideways: one of the last times he recorded as much information-knowledge as was available to be stored.
Riddle Sideways: and made a search program to quickly bring it up for anybody to reread and combine as desired.
Riddle Sideways: researching history might show some people predicted that someday we would have the entire encyclopedia on CD/ROM in a personal computer (or equivalent phrases).
--BELL--
eldir Resident: Nah, too far fetched
eldir Resident: And we know a Sci-Fi writer that predicted the future in many books
Riddle Sideways: well look at how many words he wrote.
Riddle Sideways: had to get some little bits right
Riddle Sideways: and many of those are just hind-sight saying that he wrote about something that we are twisting to say he wrote it first.
eldir Resident: But, he did start an online encyclopedia that each person was to contribute their expertise to
eldir Resident: therefore creating something that should have been Wikipedia
Riddle Sideways: but, that failed and Wikipedia succeeded
eldir Resident: yet give him credit
Riddle Sideways: ah, then these TED quotes will document that so and so said it first and gets the credit for the instant learn English pill.
Riddle Sideways: The Lab geeks that really create and produce the pill will simply be doing what so and so told them they would do someday
Riddle Sideways: so they did it
Riddle Sideways: excuse me know, I need to go get my NanoBots is order now.
Riddle Sideways: So and So as told me to get them to reorder all our brain synopsizes.
Riddle Sideways: sic
eldir Resident: and a very very small voice said: "All the thoughts are belong to us"
eldir Resident: bye
Riddle Sideways: Thank you
Riddle Sideways: and bye
