Wol Euler was guardian for this session.

    Wol Euler: hello korel
    Korel Laloix: Morning
    Wol Euler: sleepless again?
    Korel Laloix: Morning
    Korel Laloix: Yes... grrrr
Korel Laloix: Falling into a pattern which is not good.
Korel Laloix: Will try to sort this out this weekend.
    Wol Euler nods.
Korel Laloix: How is your day?
Wol Euler: best of luck with that
Wol Euler: so far, pretty good
Wol Euler: not actually raining :)
    Korel Laloix: Thank you.
    Korel Laloix: lol.
Wol Euler: and forecast sunny and warm-ish for the weekend
Korel Laloix: I guess that is good for a change.
Wol Euler: oh yes, winter has lasted long enough
Wol Euler: there have been years when I was walking around in a t-shirt by now
Korel Laloix: Well, if winter lasts more than about fourteen seconds, that is too long to me.
    Wol Euler: hehehehhe
Wol Euler: how's your life going? studying okay?
Korel Laloix: I just don'tlike being cold and I don't like evertying being brown.
    Wol Euler nods.
Korel Laloix: Turning in my second thesis this month, that should be good. Frustrating though.
    Wol Euler: fingers crossed!
Korel Laloix: Staying with grandma a few days a week now as her idiot son is no longer there.
Wol Euler: ah, that is very good! for her as well as for you
Wol Euler: glad to hear that
Korel Laloix: The new job is better than I expected.. so that was a great choice.
    Wol Euler: excellent!
    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: all in all that sounds very good
Korel Laloix: But still doing some part time work for the old office until tax season is over.
Korel Laloix: So way over committed like usual... smiles
    Wol Euler nods.
    Korel Laloix: How about you?
Wol Euler: back on 40 hour weeks, after a few months of half-time
Wol Euler: I'm glad of the hours, but I miss the free time
Korel Laloix: Yes, there is always a tradeoff.
Wol Euler: we have two competitions due in the next 12 weeks, plus a proposal for an office building in a factory town, plus the construction drawings for a small house
Wol Euler: going to be busy as hell by summer :(
Korel Laloix: But it sounds like you get to be creative.. don't you enjoy that part of it?
Wol Euler: oh yes! of course :)
Wol Euler: I'm complaining that the free margaritas on the sun-drenched white sand beach aren't cold enough :)))
Korel Laloix: Sort of jealous.. wish I was creative.. wish I had a creative job.
Wol Euler: there are many many worse jobs, god knows
Korel Laloix: Yes... I have personally been very blessed at that.
Wol Euler: I know how lucky I am. I have a job I love, with people I like, in a city I enjoy living in
Wol Euler: I can walk to work
Korel Laloix: wow... you are on top of the world in a lot of ways.
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: sometimes that is hard to keep in view :)
Korel Laloix: I can walk to work as well, but my accepted on foot distance is probably way more than for most peple...smiles
Wol Euler: given how much you run, certainly true :) heheh

    --BELL--

Korel Laloix: If it was workable I would love to run to work.. but no place to tidy up there.
Wol Euler: yes, so few offices have showers
    Wol Euler: odd, that
Korel Laloix: There are places, but I dont rate it as a part time employee.
    Wol Euler: ha
Korel Laloix: Not sure I would stay at this job for long if it was full time though.
Wol Euler: when I hear something like that, I say to myself "they don't pay their fulltime staff enough, so they have to use fake perks like this to keep them"
Korel Laloix: There is a job fair at the begining of the next semester that will be a good resource for finding a job around here. But I am aready well networked.
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: and you have lots of experience
Wol Euler: it should be a breeze
    Korel Laloix: Not really.
Korel Laloix: I have acadmic things for sure.
Korel Laloix: And then this job.
Korel Laloix: So... I will still rate an entry level job, but that will be good enough.
Wol Euler: and your last job, where they were so pleased with your work that they called you back when they had a crisis
Wol Euler: don't undersell that :)
Korel Laloix: Yes..; but there is a big difference between assett management and medical research.
    Wol Euler chuckles.
    Wol Euler: okay, yes
Korel Laloix: But yes, one my resume, I will make it sound terrific.
Wol Euler: but: much of what people actually do day-by-day is the same in any job
Korel Laloix: And I do have a couple of notable doctors willing to reference for me from there.
    Wol Euler nods.
    Wol Euler: good
Korel Laloix: Just finding a job around here will be difficult.
Korel Laloix: And then there is always the PhD option.
    Korel Laloix: Or vet school.
Wol Euler: could you get funding for that?
Korel Laloix: But I am tired of school.
Wol Euler: and does it appeal?
    Korel Laloix: Easily.
Wol Euler: heh, there's my answer
Wol Euler: well, tell yourself you are taking two years out, and see where you stand at the end of it
Korel Laloix: If I could take a couple of years off and work.....
Wol Euler: two years out of college to work
    Wol Euler: right
Korel Laloix: THen come back to school.
Korel Laloix: I might do that.
Wol Euler: talk to admissions people, but every college does that now
Korel Laloix: The added complexity is that I want to find a place close to Reeba... smiles
    Wol Euler smiles.
Korel Laloix: She graduates this December as well.
Korel Laloix: But not decided if she is going for an ag business degree or going back to the ranch.
    Wol Euler: tricky
Korel Laloix: If she stays in school here or goes down to the City or Stillwater, that would be easy.
Korel Laloix: If she goes back to the ranch, then it wil be a bit more difficult.
Korel Laloix: So.... lots to think about for the long term.
    Wol Euler nods.
Korel Laloix: Darn hearts always making things complicated.
    Korel Laloix: And hormones.... smiles
    Wol Euler: heheheh
Korel Laloix: How about you in that deparement, if you dont mind me asking of course.
Wol Euler: solo and reconciled with it
    Korel Laloix: Oh OK...
Wol Euler: I get my vicarious family effects from boss's kids
    Wol Euler: 3 and 5
    Korel Laloix: understandable.
Wol Euler: I am part of the family to them
Wol Euler: they see me far more often than their real aunts and uncles!
Korel Laloix: Well very glad you have that arrangement.
Wol Euler: (they live upstairs from the office)
Korel Laloix: That must be nice.
Wol Euler: it's not what I thought my life would look like when I was 15, but it's okay
Wol Euler: I am happy with it
Korel Laloix: Convenient at least... but sounds like the boss probably never gets away from work.
Wol Euler: then again, when I was fifteen my life didn't include living in Germany and walking to work either!
Wol Euler: yes, he's really stuck
Korel Laloix: That is very true for me as well.
Wol Euler: works far longer hours than I do
    Korel Laloix: Sounds very german.
    Korel Laloix: lol
    Wol Euler: heheheh
Korel Laloix: I loved my time there.
    Wol Euler smiles.
Korel Laloix: But was really not doing what I was supposed to be doing there... it was very bad.
    Korel Laloix: But very memorable.
Wol Euler: which in the end is pretty good too
    Wol Euler grins.
Korel Laloix: Just wish I had taken the whole semester much more seriously.
    Wol Euler nods.
Korel Laloix: Was just a dangerous time in my life.

    --BELL--

Korel Laloix: Would love to get back to that part of the world sometime though.
Wol Euler: it's still here :)
Korel Laloix: Just need an excuse. but would rather find a place south of the alps where it is silly warm.
Wol Euler: agreed :) that would be better for you
Wol Euler: the South of France, for example, I can see that appealing to you
Korel Laloix: Munich was lovely though.
Wol Euler: even vegetarians can eat well there, and the hills and the sea are lovely
Korel Laloix: And our short trip through Stuttgart was very intereseting.
    Wol Euler smiles.
Korel Laloix: But I did enjoy Cambridge a bit more.
    Wol Euler: well, yes :)
Korel Laloix: Not sure why though.
Wol Euler: the beauty? the setting? the relative quiet and cleanliness? :)
    Korel Laloix: Could be.
Korel Laloix: Was better behaved there as well... smiles
Korel Laloix: Wanted more time in London though.
Wol Euler: Stuttgart has many advantages, but mile after mile of lovely old buildings is not among htem
Korel Laloix: From what our guide said it was pretty much destroyed in the war.
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Wol Euler: there was intense house-to-house fighting, principally the French army
    Wol Euler: against the Germans
Korel Laloix: Might need to read up on that.
Korel Laloix: I really don't care about European history as much as I might should.
Korel Laloix: Just not my heritage, but still important to this society.
Wol Euler: which is historically amusing, because Stuttgart as capital of Württemberg actually sent an army WITH the French under Napoleon to wage war against the Prussians :)
Korel Laloix: I know nothing of that....
Korel Laloix: Sad part is I probably know more than most...
Wol Euler: "Germany" is a relatively new concept
Wol Euler: and yes, I have to agree
Korel Laloix: I had one course that was essentially looking at diseases associated with war.
Wol Euler: it's the lack of curiosity that I find sad in these kids today
    Wol Euler listens.
Korel Laloix: Lots of history in that class.
Korel Laloix: It was not until the US civil war that more people died of weapons than disease.
    Wol Euler: yep
    Wol Euler: pretty amazing, that
Korel Laloix: Then of course using disease as weapons.
Korel Laloix: The US and predisessors sometimes deliberately used disease to kill off my people...
    Wol Euler nods.
Korel Laloix: BUt most of the time, it just spread naturally.
Korel Laloix: Sick and sad.. but that is history.
    Wol Euler nods.
Korel Laloix: How long have you been there where you are?
    Wol Euler: hmmm, 1994
    Wol Euler: seventeen years
    Wol Euler: no, nineteen!
    Wol Euler: wow
Korel Laloix: Nice... I think I would like to live in Germany.
Wol Euler: in the same apartment too :)
Wol Euler: it's a nice place
    Wol Euler: (germany)
Korel Laloix: But maybe not now that I have at least partial control of myself... lol
    Wol Euler: clean, safe, efficient
Korel Laloix: I did love the museums we visited, and factory tours.
Korel Laloix: And went to the one choclate factory and a palace.
    Wol Euler grins.
Korel Laloix: It was a really intense trip.
Korel Laloix: There just seemed so much there, more then Munich.... and as I understand it, Munich is much larger.
Wol Euler: oh yes, much much bigger
Wol Euler: both in population and in area, Stuttgart is crammed into this tight little valley
Korel Laloix: Maybe I just saw much much less of the place.
    Wol Euler: whereas Munich *spreads*
    Korel Laloix: Urban sprawl.
Wol Euler: you have to travel more to see the interesting bits of Munich, in Stuttgart you can walk around it all
    Wol Euler: right
Korel Laloix: I have some friends in the mitliary that were there and loved it as well.

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: lots of US military here and nearby, yes
Korel Laloix: I only have a small understanding of what they are doing there, but not sure I agree with it.
Korel Laloix: But when I was trying to join our military, then that was one of the places I wanted to try and get to.
Wol Euler: originally they were keeping the peace, watching over the Germans as they rebuilt, and keeping the Russians out
Wol Euler: now, it's the European headquarters of NATO
Korel Laloix: OH OK.. forgot about that.
Wol Euler: so lots of military generally, not just US
Korel Laloix: Still might look for a job over there though.. there are non military jobs as I understand it, but still with the army people.
    Korel Laloix: Oh OK.
    Wol Euler: yes, service personnel
    Korel Laloix: wow lag
Wol Euler: lots and lots of them
Wol Euler: if you do want to do that, you should learn at least basic German before applying, as the service people deal with the locals
Korel Laloix: Which could be intesting.
Korel Laloix: My Deutsch was respectable by the time I left.
Wol Euler: actually, you know, there is a medical research connection here too, that might work as well
Wol Euler: the world health organization is in europe somewhere
Wol Euler: not stuttgart, but not far away :)
Korel Laloix: I actually had a couple of months worth of warning I was going, so I studdied up before I went and worked on it a bit there.
Korel Laloix: Anyway.. back to the sheets.
Korel Laloix: I can dream.... smiles
Korel Laloix: Thanks for te chat.
Korel Laloix: But that is only if the Reeba thing does not work out...
    Korel Laloix: Feelign it again.
    Wol Euler smiles.
    Wol Euler: priorities ;)
Wol Euler: okay, sweet dreams Korel
    Wol Euler: take care
    Korel Laloix: Yes.. ciao bella]
    Wol Euler: auf wiedersehen
