[12:59] Korel Laloix: But i am sure you will get hrough it and better for the experience.
    [12:59] Korel Laloix smiles
[13:00] Wol Euler: thank you :)

[13:00] Wol Euler: I have confidence that both conditions will not be permanent :)
    [13:01] Korel Laloix: yea!..
[13:01] Korel Laloix: So looking forward to getting some rest this weekend
    [13:02] Wol Euler smiles.
[13:02] Wol Euler: I hope it works out for you
[13:02] Wol Euler: sleep is a goodness, I know I've been getting too little of it
    [13:02] Wol Euler: brb
[13:03] Korel Laloix: Nothing planned... just hanging around the appartment of seeing Reeba
    [13:03] Korel Laloix: ok
[13:03] Korel Laloix: brb as wel
[13:04] Wol Euler: buona sera qt
    [13:04] Qt Core: ;sera Wol
    [13:04] Wol Euler: how's life?

[13:05] Qt Core: today was good, home from work and gone to a orient festival,
[13:05] Qt Core: commercial for the most part but with some nice shows too
    [13:05] Wol Euler: interesting!
[13:06] Qt Core: yes, i discovered it just a couple days ago... last year was a few hundred km from here, today only 20 :-)
    [13:07] Wol Euler: that's handy too :)
[13:07] Wol Euler: what sort of things were there`
    [13:07] Wol Euler: ?
    [13:07] Qt Core: www.festivaldelloriente.net
[13:08] Qt Core: most teas, clothing and silks, books foods, cultural association showingt their interests
[13:09] Qt Core: many tibetan bowls and katanas
    [13:09] Wol Euler smiles.
[13:09] Wol Euler: and food too, I see :)
[13:09] Wol Euler: that looks great, and all weekend too
[13:09] Qt Core: oh yes, food ;-)
[13:10] Qt Core: and 25 april is festive in italy, so many are at home on the 26 too (like me)
[13:11] Qt Core: i was able not to buy anything (beside foods) as if i started i would have bought everything

    [13:12] Wol Euler: hello yaku
    [13:12] Qt Core: Hi Yaku
[13:12] Yakuzza Lethecus: hey the two of you
[13:12] Yakuzza Lethecus: almost didn´t expect you to be online tonight, wol
[13:12] Yakuzza Lethecus: did you resolve the internet issues
    [13:13] Wol Euler: indeed
[13:13] Wol Euler: it was already working last night
[13:13] Wol Euler: to my surprise
[13:14] Wol Euler: I'm pleased to be back, I must say

[13:14] Wol Euler: I was somewhat lost on that evening
[13:14] Wol Euler: so very much of what I do and who I have become is internet-based
[13:14] Yakuzza Lethecus: i guess as long as they don´t need technicians it can be fast, otherwise you might wait for weeks to a telecom provider to act
[13:15] Yakuzza Lethecus: glad ur back on
[13:16] Qt Core: the (luckily) rare times my connection didn't work i was surprised and worried on how used (or should i say addicted) to it i am
    [13:18] Wol Euler: ty
[13:18] Yakuzza Lethecus: me too qt

    [13:18] Wol Euler: hello zen
    [13:18] Wol Euler nods.
    [13:18] Yakuzza Lethecus: hez yen
    [13:19] Qt Core: Hi Zen
[13:19] Zen Arado: Hi Yaku, Wol, Qt
[13:19] Yakuzza Lethecus: are y and z at the same position like the english keyboard for italians, qt ?
[13:20] Wol Euler: (i.e. bottom row zxcv)
[13:20] Qt Core: yes, the difference are mostly on the far right of the keyboard
[13:21] Qt Core: accented letetrs instead of []{} and such (nasty keyboard for programming
[13:21] Qt Core: i have usa keyboard both at home ad at work
[13:23] Yakuzza Lethecus: in germany we have yxcv on bottom row and also differences on top and right side, well just didn´t know who else got yxcv then germans
[13:24] Yakuzza Lethecus: how are you doing tonight zen ?
[13:24] Zen Arado: fine ty Yaku
[13:25] Zen Arado: how are you?
[13:25] Yakuzza Lethecus: i am tempted to write, middling
[13:25] Yakuzza Lethecus: but i am really fine atm :)
[13:25] Zen Arado: fine = middling I think
    [13:26] Zen Arado: :)
    [13:26] Wol Euler smiles.
[13:26] Zen Arado: I'm not a very moody person
    [13:27] Zen Arado: pretty equable
[13:27] Zen Arado: old age makes you like that
[13:27] Zen Arado: the passions of youth subside
    [13:27] Wol Euler smiles.

[13:27] Zen Arado: I was looking at a photo taken on Anzac day 1963 in Sydney
[13:28] Zen Arado: a friend sent it
[13:28] Zen Arado: 50 years ago
[13:28] Wol Euler: were you there?
[13:28] Zen Arado: yes I am in it
    [13:28] Wol Euler nods.
[13:28] Zen Arado: Anzac day was Thursday
[13:31] Zen Arado: which is me?
    [13:32] Yakuzza Lethecus: left side
    [13:33] Zen Arado: nope
[13:33] Wol Euler: second from left
    [13:33] Zen Arado: heh no
[13:34] Zen Arado: third from left
[13:34] Yakuzza Lethecus: you still have that tatoo ? :)
[13:34] Wol Euler: the relative lack of tan might hve been a clue
[13:35] Zen Arado: guy on left just retired from a job as Senior welding inspector building oil and gas platforms in Spain
    [13:35] Zen Arado: :)
[13:35] Zen Arado: second from left lives in melbourne and I speak to him on Skype
[13:36] Zen Arado: guy on right I have no idea where he is

[13:36] Zen Arado: still have tatoos
[13:37] Zen Arado: one on rigbht arm too
[13:37] Zen Arado: a bit faded now
    [13:37] Wol Euler smiles.
    [13:37] Zen Arado: chinese dragons
[13:39] Zen Arado: I was only 18 when I got them
[13:39] Zen Arado: at least i can cover them up
[13:40] Zen Arado: women get tattoos now
[13:40] Wol Euler: it sometimes seems everyone does
[13:40] Zen Arado: I don't like that really
[13:40] Zen Arado: old fashioned I guess

[13:41] Wol Euler: I haven't seen any accurate polling done but I'd guess that at least a third of Germans under 30 have tattoes and/or piercings
[13:41] Wol Euler: yaku, would you agree?
[13:41] Yakuzza Lethecus: i think it depends on the design and place, i don´t mind but i don´t have any myself
    [13:41] Zen Arado: oh? amazing
[13:41] Qt Core: same in italy i think
[13:42] Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, i only know a few ppl at my age who have one, maybe 25-30%
[13:42] Yakuzza Lethecus: not everyone is telling of course depending on location
    [13:42] Zen Arado: :)
    [13:42] Wol Euler: hehehhe
[13:43] Zen Arado: maybe Zen should have one
[13:43] Wol Euler: wol did when she was young :)
[13:43] Yakuzza Lethecus: and ur chinese dragons look much better then a common anker or something :)
[13:43] Wol Euler: an advantage of SL is being able to take them off again :)
    [13:43] Zen Arado: yep
[13:44] Zen Arado: amazing that they saty so permanent
[13:44] Zen Arado: skin cells change don't they?
    [13:44] Wol Euler: I thought so ....
[13:44] Zen Arado: your whole body is replaced by 7 years they say
[13:46] Zen Arado: so why not tattoos?
[13:46] Wol Euler: a very good questions
    [13:46] Wol Euler: -s
[13:47] Yakuzza Lethecus: the pigments cant be flushed out
    [13:47] Yakuzza Lethecus: ?
[13:47] Zen Arado: but they must have stained the skin just?
[13:47] Zen Arado: like ink on paper?
[13:48] Wol Euler: or does the pigment still exist as a material between cells, between layers maybe?
    [13:49] Zen Arado: a mystery

[13:52] Wol Euler: okay wikipedia to the rescue. The ink is injected into the skin and is attacked and encapsulated (neutralized) by antibodies, which preserves it and keeps it out of cells.
[13:52] Wol Euler: so it is between cells, not in them
[13:52] Wol Euler: and therefore persists as the cells around it are swapped out
    [13:53] Wol Euler: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tattoo#Procedure
[13:54] Yakuzza Lethecus: zen: what tools were used in the 60th ?
    [13:54] Zen Arado: interesting Wol
[13:54] Zen Arado: same as now I think
[13:54] Zen Arado: a kind of needle with an electric motor
[13:56] Zen Arado: not sure how the ink gets into the skin though
[13:58] Zen Arado: they were nice tatoos though
    [13:59] Wol Euler smiles.

[13:59] Wol Euler: were you a sailor?
[13:59] Wol Euler: they seem very common among sailors ...
[14:01] Zen Arado: just an Irish immigrant Wol
[14:02] Zen Arado: though I did sail to Sydney
[14:02] Zen Arado: only as a passenger
[14:02] Wol Euler: oh, fascinating :)
[14:03] Zen Arado: it was 61
[14:03] Zen Arado: so I had been in Oz two years when photo was taken

[14:04] Zen Arado: Anzac is a big day of parades in Ausralia
[14:04] Zen Arado: they celebrate people who died in the wars
    [14:04] Wol Euler nods.
[14:04] Zen Arado: a bit like remembrance day in the UK
[14:05] Zen Arado: Aussies go in for that in a big way
[14:05] Zen Arado: they have RSL clubs..retires servicemen's league I think it is
[14:06] Zen Arado: and they have a little service every night in them with a minute's silence
[14:06] Yakuzza Lethecus: have you been in the military ?
    [14:06] Zen Arado: no
[14:07] Zen Arado: I tried to join Australian army but failed the medical
    [14:07] Zen Arado: thank God
[14:07] Zen Arado: I would have finished up in Vietnam
[14:08] Zen Arado: don't think I would have been a good soldier
    [14:09] Wol Euler smiles.
[14:09] Zen Arado: or maybe a dead one

[14:10] Zen Arado: strange I am so pale there
[14:10] Zen Arado: I have a better tan living in Ireland
[14:11] Zen Arado: but nobody sat in the sun in Australia
[14:11] Yakuzza Lethecus: i thought in australia pale the the our brown
[14:11] Yakuzza Lethecus: what you can´t have is most desired
    [14:11] Wol Euler nods.
[14:11] Zen Arado: too hot for sunbathing

    [14:12] Wol Euler: wb korel
    [14:12] Yakuzza Lethecus: hey korel
[14:13] Zen Arado: Hi Kori :)
    [14:13] Zen Arado: nice outfit
    [14:14] Korel Laloix: heya
    [14:14] Qt Core: Hi Korel
    [14:14] Korel Laloix: wow lag
[14:14] Zen Arado: like India..upper castes are paler
    [14:15] Wol Euler: :)
[14:16] Yakuzza Lethecus: good night everyone, thx for sharing all this zen
    [14:16] Korel Laloix: Ciao

[14:16] Qt Core: where being tan was/is sign of manual work in fields being pale is better where being tan means not having to work and wasting time outside being tan is better
[14:16] Zen Arado: you make me think of an Egyptian Princess Kori
[14:16] Zen Arado: don't know why
[14:17] Korel Laloix: I am just that amazing... it is understandable... smiles
    [14:17] Wol Euler: heheheh
    [14:17] Zen Arado: :)
[14:17] Korel Laloix: And my humility is very alluring as well...
    [14:17] Zen Arado: of course
[14:18] Zen Arado: though I don't think Egyptian princesse were very humble
[14:18] Korel Laloix: The darkness thing you mention is still very true today I think in the US.
[14:19] Zen Arado: so dark-skinned people try to whiten it?
[14:19] Zen Arado: like Michael Jackson

[14:19] Korel Laloix: I definatly get treated differently in the winter when I fade to just dark.
[14:20] Korel Laloix: In the summer when I get very dark I get treated worse for sure... when people mistake me for black.
    [14:20] Zen Arado: oh?
[14:20] Qt Core: thinking about the ladies going around with sun umbrellas in many eastern countries
[14:20] Zen Arado: I thought First Americans had fairly pale skin
[14:21] Korel Laloix: FUll bloods no.
[14:21] Zen Arado: but then they called the white people palefaces..or was that just in the movies?
[14:21] Korel Laloix: Reeba's mother is one of the darkest people I know and is a full blood Commanche
[14:22] Korel Laloix: Yes, whites were called pale face.
[14:22] Zen Arado: probably a lot of variatin in the tribes
[14:22] Wol Euler excuses herself and slips away. So tired.Goodnight, my dears, and take care.
    [14:22] Zen Arado: nite Wol
    [14:22] Korel Laloix: Take care
    [14:22] Qt Core: 'night Wol
[14:23] Zen Arado: slips away too
    [14:23] Korel Laloix: Ciao
    [14:23] Qt Core: Bye Zen
    [14:23] Zen Arado: byee

[14:23] Korel Laloix: Racism is still alive and well in the US for sure.. but I don't think it really looks like most people think.
[14:25] Qt Core: how does it look (in italy we just started having people from different countries around we thought we weren't racist,...)
[14:27] Korel Laloix: Wel, the people that are accused of being the most racist are not.
[14:27] Korel Laloix: And a lot of the people that do the calling are the most racist themselves.
[14:28] Qt Core: as is the one that make your life hard not the one calling you names the issue ?
[14:29] Korel Laloix: The real issues are the subtle and unspoken things... how you get treated differently.
[14:29] Korel Laloix: I get out right racism from time to time.
[14:29] Korel Laloix: But that is not the norm.
[14:32] Qt Core: Hi Devi, SocialAnimal
    [14:32] Korel Laloix: Bozho
    [14:32] SocialAnimal Resident: hello
[14:33] Korel Laloix: Just talking about racism a bit.
    [14:34] Devi Pearl: ok
[14:34] Qt Core: You came here at the end of one of our session, speaking of that we need you permission as what we say around here is published on our website (that is if this is your first visit)
[14:35] Korel Laloix: As a FIrst American I have a certain point of view about the subject for sure.
[14:35] Qt Core: and you may like to read the notecard i'm going to give you to understand what happen around here
[14:38] Qt Core: a few decades ago there was (and even today in some places) there is racism against southern italians from northern ones as many come to live in the north in search for work
[14:39] Korel Laloix: And the racism within FIrst Americans can be bad... I still have a thing against Commanches that I am deeling with.
[14:39] Korel Laloix: But that is how I was raised.
[14:42] Qt Core: around here there are still fierce rivalries between towns only few km apart, dating from middle age rivalries
[14:42] Qt Core: when they were at war, real or just economic with each other
[14:43] Korel Laloix: Cultural and ethnic memories are unfortunatlly very long.
[14:43] Korel Laloix: When it comes to harm.
[14:43] Korel Laloix: And short when it comes to help.
[14:45] Qt Core: I need to go, Korel, i had a good but very tiring day
    [14:47] Qt Core: bye
    [14:47] Korel Laloix: Ciao
[14:48] Korel Laloix: Texting my gf back and forth as well.. so slow at the moment.
