stevenaia Michinaga: nice, I shoveled 6" of snow today
    SusanClausson Resident: oh wow
stevenaia Michinaga: actually I have an electric snow shovel
SusanClausson Resident: (i liked shoveling snow...later elsewhere, cleaning a pool
stevenaia Michinaga: it;s like a snow shovel with wheels and a plug
    SusanClausson Resident: :-)
stevenaia Michinaga: how was your day
SusanClausson Resident: you could probably build some pretty cool things with a shovel like that
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, you can lift it easily
SusanClausson Resident: good day. things got a little wonky at work but it's a super nice group of people and everyone just rolled with it peacefully.
SusanClausson Resident: hoping tomorrow is a little less on the monitoring side
SusanClausson Resident: but if it's similar - then it's just going to be this way for a bit
stevenaia Michinaga: what do you mean "on the monitoring side... like supervision?
    SusanClausson Resident: watching processes
    SusanClausson Resident: getting updates
SusanClausson Resident: on an hourly basis or less
stevenaia Michinaga: processes? Thought you worked with people?
    SusanClausson Resident: I'm in Eng
SusanClausson Resident: Work on the Performance Management system
    stevenaia Michinaga: aww

    SusanClausson Resident: hi luci
    Lucinda Lavender: HI Susan
    Lucinda Lavender: and Steve
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
SusanClausson Resident: how was your day, Luci?
SusanClausson Resident: what did you learn from the little people?
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Lucinda Lavender: not too bad. thursdays are the day now that feel like fridays because we have worked hard all week
Lucinda Lavender: tomorrow a short day
    SusanClausson Resident: :-)
Lucinda Lavender: how about you guys?
    stevenaia Michinaga: I shoveled snow
SusanClausson Resident: good day for me
Lucinda Lavender: i bet you did!
stevenaia Michinaga: what were those short block builds you posted on FB?
    stevenaia Michinaga: looked interesting
    --BELL--
Lucinda Lavender: oh...after hearing an article on npr about The Humble Block" and it's importance...I started setting a challenge to my kids...a 10 minute build:)
Lucinda Lavender: easy to clean up from
    Lucinda Lavender: much to learn
Lucinda Lavender: next week we start robots
    Lucinda Lavender: made from recycalables
Lucinda Lavender: i can't even spell the word:)
stevenaia Michinaga: reminds me of one of the first retreats we did a drawing excercise where one person begins a drawing, the you pass it to the next person to add to. Sylectra had the great idea that you can only draw for 9 seconds before you had to pass it, the results are somewhere in the retrreats part of the wiki,
Lucinda Lavender: we will have them tape them together first
Lucinda Lavender: oh yes! sounds interesting
stevenaia Michinaga: it was a bit hectic
Lucinda Lavender: some people do not want to pick up the pencil...because what they will do is never up to their own standards i suppose
    Lucinda Lavender: shut down
Lucinda Lavender: i love projects like composing together
    stevenaia Michinaga: https://wiki.playasbeing.org/Retreats/Past_retreats/2008/2008-10_Princeton%2c_NJ%2c_USA
stevenaia Michinaga: they are at the bottom
stevenaia Michinaga: I think if you look closely each of use had one color
stevenaia Michinaga: so you can see who added what, just not know who who is
Lucinda Lavender: wow! i see! that is interesting!
stevenaia Michinaga: Maxine was there too
    Lucinda Lavender: great play potential
stevenaia Michinaga: and Stim, Steve Trainer
Lucinda Lavender: was much being discussed as it went on?
stevenaia Michinaga: since it was all so new to us, just 6 months or so after PaB began there was some nice discussions, if you click the link below on the left, Saki did a nice job with her notes
stevenaia Michinaga: no not while drawing
stevenaia Michinaga: hard to talk and draw at the same time, probably whi I like drawing
stevenaia Michinaga: unless you are talking about what you are drawings
stevenaia Michinaga: something abut how the brain works
Lucinda Lavender: i might try it with children to see if they could let go enough to pass the paper along
stevenaia Michinaga: chew gum and walk-kind of thing
    Lucinda Lavender: :))
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, it;s also good to do when you are bored at meetings
    Lucinda Lavender: nods
stevenaia Michinaga: it would be interesting to see if the children add to someone elses doodle or begin their own
Lucinda Lavender: right! today as we built in an area together there was alot of discussion about who could decide to do what...
    --BELL--
Lucinda Lavender: sometimes the first person that starts get a role...of being in charge...even tho they all could be
Lucinda Lavender: at least in charge of their little sections
stevenaia Michinaga: and if all the children are drawing on someone elses paper they are all drawing at the same time
    Lucinda Lavender: ah! good point
stevenaia Michinaga: the room will get quite... for a moment
Lucinda Lavender: we need that sometimes!
    stevenaia Michinaga: in theroy
Lucinda Lavender: getting a bit tired here
    Lucinda Lavender: long week
    SusanClausson Resident: sweet dreams :-)
Lucinda Lavender: better go and rest now. carry on all!
stevenaia Michinaga: I ahve to figure out how to make up for lost time today
    Lucinda Lavender: thanks Susan!
stevenaia Michinaga: bye, thanks for stopping in, let me know hoe the drawings work out
    Lucinda Lavender: I will! curious!
Lucinda Lavender: i will look more closely at the ones you pointed out!
    Lucinda Lavender: stay well!
SusanClausson Resident: stevenaia, will be back in a few
    stevenaia Michinaga: ok
    SusanClausson Resident: back
SusanClausson Resident: is your office at your home or do you have to travel?
stevenaia Michinaga: I rent a lovely office on the fifth floor of a building about 20 minutes from home, but I work at home sometimes to, everything is in y laptop or in the cloud
    SusanClausson Resident: understand
SusanClausson Resident: prefer the office or home?
    stevenaia Michinaga: office
    SusanClausson Resident: me too
    SusanClausson Resident: cool building
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, I like it a lot
stevenaia Michinaga: I work at home nights and weekends
    SusanClausson Resident: :-)
stevenaia Michinaga: I have to front window
SusanClausson Resident: is it fueling or distracting?
stevenaia Michinaga: nice view on the main street
    stevenaia Michinaga: fueling
    SusanClausson Resident: i like that
    stevenaia Michinaga: hello Cricket
    Cricket Hykova: howdy
    SusanClausson Resident: hello
stevenaia Michinaga: have you been here before?
    Cricket Hykova: nope
stevenaia Michinaga: we record ur conversations here and log them into the groups wiki, is it ok to include you
stevenaia Michinaga: here is the group's notecard
Cricket Hykova: don bother me, but I tend not to type as much as yak
    stevenaia Michinaga: feel free
    stevenaia Michinaga: have a seat
stevenaia Michinaga: how did yu come by our little group?
    Cricket Hykova: search
Cricket Hykova: can you hear voice?
stevenaia Michinaga: there is a schedule on the front page of the wiki, in case you wnat to return again
stevenaia Michinaga: I can here but we type here , we can't log voice
    stevenaia Michinaga: hear
    --BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: turning up volume, sorry, I missed that. every 15 minutes we take a 90 second pause and the gong sounds and the red ring glows
    stevenaia Michinaga: aww understand
stevenaia Michinaga: are you english (from your accent?
    stevenaia Michinaga: smiles
stevenaia Michinaga: must be what the internet does to yur voice
Cricket Hykova: Retired Navy, I ended up with a mish mash of accents over the years
stevenaia Michinaga: what search did you place to have this group turn up?
Cricket Hykova: general search for discussion related places
stevenaia Michinaga: our discussion here try to focus on the nature of reality... if only to help each other figure out what that is
stevenaia Michinaga: we have been at this for almost 7 years now
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, it does have its draw
    stevenaia Michinaga: or a bar
    stevenaia Michinaga: or the tv
stevenaia Michinaga: so our pauses are to reflect on a topic or just to see what arises between the other 13 1/2 minutes and let the mind discover whatever it wants "in between"
stevenaia Michinaga: sometimes it is time well spent, other times it;s good to get water
    stevenaia Michinaga: nods
SusanClausson Resident: going to wander...be well
stevenaia Michinaga: unfortunately I've been shoveling snow all day so I am going to crash
stevenaia Michinaga: perhaps I;ll see you some other time, check the schedule
stevenaia Michinaga: we are here, thanks for stopping by
