The Guardian for this meeting was Bruce Mowbray (subbing for Yaku). The comments are by Bruce Mowbray.

    Qt Core: Hi bruce
    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Qt.
Qt Core: let's try it again... hi brice
    Qt Core: *bruce
Bruce Mowbray: I've been trying to reach Yaku...
Bruce Mowbray: Brice is also cool,
Bruce Mowbray: reminds me of Fanny Brice,
Bruce Mowbray: also known as "Unsinkable Molly Brown."
    Bruce Mowbray: (Titanic survivor.)
Bruce Mowbray: This is usually Yaku's session, but he didn't show today, so I've sent him IM's and an email,
Qt Core: saw the pic on wikipedia. still (almost) no idea

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Uns...y_Brown_(film)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fanny_Brice

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Brown

Bruce Mowbray: and then put up that sign over there.

Bruce Mowbray: i hope Yaku gets here (or reads his email, or checks IM's before April 6th.)
Bruce Mowbray: Don't know what else to do.
Qt Core: I've sadly had no inspiration for some poetry for Sunday
Bruce Mowbray: Hmmm. One does need inspiration from the muse to write poems, I've found (through my own experience.)
Bruce Mowbray: but I'm not going to read one of my own this time.
Bruce Mowbray: I will be reading "Birches" by Robert Frost, instead.
Bruce Mowbray: I was trying out my line reader before you arrived, actually.
Bruce Mowbray: btw, I think I have Fanny Brice and Molly Brown confused....
Qt Core: my culture in poetry is extremely limited... and then I'll need to find a translation (or brrr do it myself)
Bruce Mowbray: I thought they were the same woman, but they are NOT.
Bruce Mowbray: I would love to see (read) your translation....
Bruce Mowbray: You translated lyrics for that wonderful Italian singer, remember?
Qt Core: yes (i have a little backup plan about another song, by another artist)
    Bruce Mowbray: Great!
Bruce Mowbray: Maybe you could SING at the POETRY BASH!
    Qt Core: just no
    Bruce Mowbray: heh heh.
Bruce Mowbray: I'm just hoping my regular human voice holds together long enough to read a 66-line poem.
Bruce Mowbray: (my typist's voice, actually).
Qt Core: (and i was thinking that songs' lyrics were too long... ;-)
Qt Core: working (referring to Bruce's voice)
Bruce Mowbray: Well, 66 lines would be a LONG SONG, for sure... An aria, perhaps?
Qt Core: (i don't even remember where i put my mic after i used it some three years ago)
    Bruce Mowbray: ha ha!
Bruce Mowbray: I very seldom use my microphone, but I'm using it right now as I type this line - - through Dragon Naturally Speaking, of course.
Bruce Mowbray: it makes typing stuff a whole lot easier!
Bruce Mowbray: I almost never write letters - except by using the Dragon....
Qt Core: does it still feel weird talking to the screen ?
Bruce Mowbray: yesterday I wrote a seven-page single-spaced letter to my prisoner friend Mike . .  using the Dragon.
Bruce Mowbray: It felt weird at first, but I'm getting used to it I guess.
Bruce Mowbray: My typist is a hermit, anyway, so he's pretty used to talking to himself.
Bruce Mowbray: He also talks to birds and trees and dogs and just about anything that will listen to him.

Qt Core: i do that often while working, but surrounded by colleagues ;-)
    Bruce Mowbray: ha ha!
Bruce Mowbray: what I would tell my colleagues is this: I have looked in vain for an intelligent conversationalist . . . .
Bruce Mowbray: and found one in myself!
Qt Core: (usually telling to the computer or to myself that he/it is being an idiot)
Bruce Mowbray: I suspect we'll be seeing a lot more voice-activation in the future....
Bruce Mowbray: I mean, like that's probably how we'll enter our homes and turn on our cars, TVs, and the like....
Qt Core: I'd like and hope for it
Bruce Mowbray: Well, it's a real boon to persons who are physically disabled, of course.
Bruce Mowbray: I'm sorry to have to bring this conversation to a close,
Bruce Mowbray: but I need to move on now.
Bruce Mowbray: have a fine weekend, Qt!
Qt Core: even if I always got stuck at the idea of how it will be activated and how you would explain to someone else hoe to activate it without activating it ;-)
Qt Core: bye Bruce, have fun
    Bruce Mowbray: Right!

    --BELL--

Bruce Mowbray: the software would need to be very, very specific to particular qualities of voice. bye for now!
