Note to Calvino... I love the spellcheck and use it lightly and love even more that the format controls no longer "follow" you down the page. But I can't figure out where the "Indent" controls are located.
stevenaia Michinaga: hello
Much time passed between my hello and the time Ewan and Dream responded, it could have been the lag everyone is talking about.
New year conversation started the evening
Ewan Bonham: Hello Steve.
stevenaia Michinaga: evening Ewan
stevenaia Michinaga: hello Dream
Dream Wrexan: hello
stevenaia Michinaga: I may have to leave shortly as I have some relatives over for the holiday
stevenaia Michinaga: but I claimed the log so feel free to continue after
Ewan Bonham: Oh, OK
Dream Wrexan: L'shanah tovah
stevenaia Michinaga: smiles
Dream Wrexan: I find it interesting that different cultures celebrate the new year not only in different ways, but also at different times
Dream Wrexan: There's something magical about starting over.
stevenaia Michinaga: and for different reasons, I am surprised that everyone agrees what a rear is
stevenaia Michinaga: Year is
Dream Wrexan: knew that :-)
Dream Wrexan: hehe
stevenaia Michinaga: once around the sun
stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Dream Wrexan: or the moon
stevenaia Michinaga: even by counting the moon phases
stevenaia Michinaga: nods
Dream Wrexan: and even for western cultures, there are many different rituals
Dream Wrexan: we used to bury coins in the snow before midnight and retrieve them after midnight
--BELL--
Dream Wrexan: to ensure prosperity in the coming year
stevenaia Michinaga: new year offers a time to reflect on the past and future, which culture does that Dream?
Dream Wrexan: I'm guessing all cultures
Dream Wrexan: at least those I'm familiar with
Dream Wrexan: oh - you mean the coins
Dream Wrexan: lol
stevenaia Michinaga: nods... smiles
Dream Wrexan: that is my Polish ancestry6
Dream Wrexan: and there were plenty more rituals along with that
Dream Wrexan: from eating herring and rye bread to ensuring that a male was the first to enter the house in the new year
stevenaia Michinaga: love pickled herring
Dream Wrexan: I prefer the creamed
stevenaia Michinaga: nods
stevenaia Michinaga: and you Ewan?
Dream Wrexan: I hated it when a child, though... but they made me gag down at least one bite
Dream Wrexan: how interesting - to think of where customs start
Dream Wrexan: and how they end up
Ewan Bonham: Well, i am intrigued with both the concept of a new year and its freshness...as well as forgiveness that goes with it..
Ewan Bonham: It's like wiping a preverbal slate clean..
Dream Wrexan: forgiveness - yes!
Dream Wrexan: I believe that is why New Years is so special...
Dream Wrexan: even new moon can be special
Dream Wrexan: I've done many new moon rituals to put forth new energy
Ewan Bonham: Yes, and it also wipes a mind clean
Dream Wrexan: I wish more cultures devoted effort to forgiveness
Dream Wrexan: It is such an important concept
Dream Wrexan: Without forgiveness, we carry forth old baggage
Dream Wrexan: and who needs that in a New Year?
Ewan Bonham: I is the only way to have energy to move on..
Dream Wrexan: yes, precisely
Dream Wrexan: We are often so caught up in being 'right' that we forget to be happy
Ewan Bonham: A bit of ACIM there..
Dream Wrexan: and for me happiness comes from relief of the burdens that holding a grudge can bring
Dream Wrexan: oops... is it showing? :-)
stevenaia Michinaga: ACIM?
Ewan Bonham: Yes...
stevenaia Michinaga: what is that?
Ewan Bonham: Steve, it is A Course in Miracles
stevenaia Michinaga: awww, sorry
Dream Wrexan: it's very much about forgiveness
Ewan Bonham: And i doing that, letting Love come forth
Ewan Bonham: making way for new changes and evolvement
Dream Wrexan: yes, the energy that Stevenaia was mentioning
Dream Wrexan: and energy to evolve
stevenaia Michinaga: the energy to reflect
Ewan Bonham: Yes, often beyond words..
--BELL--
Dream Wrexan: reflection is so critical to evolution
Dream Wrexan: folks so often rush through life without it
Aphrodite Macbain: I'm just trying to move...
stevenaia Michinaga: I find as I get older I move at a more leisurely pace
stevenaia Michinaga: hello Aphrodite
Dream Wrexan: hi, Aphrodite

stevenaia Michinaga: way over my head
Aphrodite Macbain: I gave Bruce mug o coffe today and then it started
Ewan Bonham: that what you get for giving something to Bruce..
Aphrodite Macbain: I've been searching in Wikie but nothing
Dream Wrexan: ah
Dream Wrexan: maybe it's the script in the mug
Ewan Bonham: Next thing youknow, you'll have a fish swimming around your head..
Dream Wrexan: there's a mug behind you
stevenaia Michinaga: is it the mug on the ground over there
Dream Wrexan: LOL, Ewan!!
Aphrodite Macbain: Oh whee is i. Perhaps ifI take it it will STOP!
Dream Wrexan: I wonder if you could 'block' it
Aphrodite Macbain: well I've taken it......
Dream Wrexan: try remove/block - then block it by name
