The Guardian for this meeting was Gaya Ethaniel. The comments are by Gaya Ethaniel.
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Bruce :)
Bruce Mowbray: Good day, Gaya.
Bruce Mowbray: Haven't seen you in a while.
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes it feels like ages since I was here last :)
Bruce Mowbray: welcome back!
Gaya Ethaniel: Thank you :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Is there anything particular you'd like to discuss?
Gaya Ethaniel: Maybe there's a hot topic that has been discussed at PaB?
Bruce Mowbray: Mmmmm. . . . Nothing pressing at the moment - for me personally. . .
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Bruce Mowbray: The talk at PaB seems centered around changes to the wiki, etc.
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes it's good that Calvino is finally getting some suggestions, feedback etc.
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Eliza :)
Bruce Mowbray: yes.
Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Eliza.
Eliza Madrigal: Good Morning :)
Gaya Ethaniel: We are talking about the wiki changes Eliza.
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, good :)
Eliza Madrigal: forgive my funny hand gestures... even turning the AO off doesn't seem to turn these off. Hah
Gaya Ethaniel: How did you put it on in the first place?
Eliza Madrigal: an AO
Gaya Ethaniel: ah ... very expressive I thought when I first saw it :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Visitor :)
Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Visitor.
Eliza Madrigal: but don't let me interrupt... will be here just a little while so I'd love to listen in :)
Eliza Madrigal: Hello Visitor
Gaya Ethaniel: ok :)
Visitor: hello
Gaya Ethaniel: Welcome to PlayasBeing. Have you been here before Visitor?
Visitor: yes
Gaya Ethaniel: ah so I don't have to do the introduction :)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Gaya Ethaniel: So you know that we post our chat logs online?
Gaya Ethaniel: Your name/comments will be included unless you ask me otherwise.
Gaya Ethaniel: I think the wiki looks neater [Visitor we are talking about our wiki reorganisation].
Gaya Ethaniel: And nice to have the donation showing on all pages :)
Bruce Mowbray: I agree about the donation showing. . .
Eliza Madrigal: yes, that seems a positive. Now it being simple, too, rather than the whole chart
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Gaya Ethaniel: But you disagree ... Bruce? :)
Bruce Mowbray: I agree with everything Eliza is saying -- esp. about the donations being visible on all pages.
Bruce Mowbray: I have a sort of off-the-wall question.... not pertaining to the wiki, though.
Eliza Madrigal: It is a tricky job that Calvino is doing... it is similar to 'not too tight, not too loose' in meditation
Gaya Ethaniel: Sure go ahead Bruce.
Eliza Madrigal: to bring everything to clear basics perhaps, then bring forward specific things
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, sorry... listening :)
Bruce Mowbray: Well, in a way it's like "not too loose" "not too tight..."
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Bruce Mowbray: I will be taking a man half my age to New York City tomorrow - and we'll be there five days.
--BELL--
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Bleu :)
Bleu Oleander: hi everyone :)
Bruce Mowbray: I know that my energy level. . .
Bruce Mowbray waits for bell.
Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Bleu. As I was saying, I know that my energy level spikes when I'm in New York. . .
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Bleu
Bruce Mowbray: . . . so I'm wondering if any of you have techniques for balancing out your energy in RL.
Bleu Oleander: I just go for it when I'm in NYC :)
Bruce Mowbray: I mean -- Do you watch your breath, or focus on something mentally, or anything specific?
Eliza Madrigal: :))
Bleu Oleander: take in as much as possible, hehe
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, in Ny I feel like a KID!
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes go for it :)
Bruce Mowbray: I just want to be able to settle down -- when I want to settle down . . . any methods for that?
Bleu Oleander: go to the Met
Bruce Mowbray: (forget it's New York. . . . How about settling down, in general.
Bleu Oleander: always calms me down :)
Bleu Oleander: sorry
Bruce Mowbray: We'll definitely be hitting the art museums because the man I'm taking is an artist - and it's his first time in the city. . .
Bruce Mowbray: But how about calming down and balancing out -- in general?
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, nice!
Gaya Ethaniel: I like looking at the sky or in an open space.
Bruce Mowbray: mmmmm. ok. Thanks, Gaya.
Gaya Ethaniel: So perhaps try the park?
Eliza Madrigal: yes, that's nice. :) Is it that you feel 'less grounded' Bruce?
Bruce Mowbray: or, perhaps, flowing water. . .
Gaya Ethaniel: I'm sure you get a piece of open sky from there.
Bruce Mowbray: Yes -- we'll definitely be going to the park, too -- in fact, several parks.
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Bruce Mowbray: Do you do anything with your thoughts when looking at the sky, Gaya?
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, Eliza -- it is certainly a case of feeling less grounded...
Bleu Oleander: the sky can be very beautiful in NYC
Gaya Ethaniel: Walking on earthen ground is also good for that :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Can people walk on the grassy bits in public parks in US?
Eliza Madrigal: yes, take your shoes off in central park... walk slowly...
Eliza Madrigal: !
Eliza Madrigal: yes
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I do find the 'slowly' part important....
Bruce Mowbray: Oh yes -- I love walking barefooted in Central Park!
Bleu Oleander: picnic in the park
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Bleu Oleander: beautiful this time of year
Bruce Mowbray: ok. . . s-l-o-w-l-y ---- That is good advice.
Bruce Mowbray: I am twice this man's age and fear that I will behave about one-fourth his age. . .
Bruce Mowbray: walking slowly and mindfully. . . Good advice.
Eliza Madrigal: I walk my son to school in the mornings... tiny little walk, and I noticed myself sort of rushing to get back home and begin my day after... but when I slow, it is like there is 'more time' because there is an appreciative capacity
Bruce Mowbray: Wonderful, Eliza. That's what I am looking for now.
Eliza Madrigal: so taking more in... and that seems to seep into everything
Gaya Ethaniel: So you must be quite sensitive Bruce to your surroundings.
Bruce Mowbray: Oh yes, I am.
Bruce Mowbray: Especially in New York where the energy level is already very high.
Bruce Mowbray: and where I love SO MANY things!
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Bruce Mowbray: How do you calm yourselves down, Bleu and Visitor?
Bleu Oleander: music and art are a good way for me
Eliza Madrigal: mmm
Bleu Oleander: reading also good
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Bleu Oleander: gelato helps too
Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Bruce Mowbray: The live music and public art in NYC often excite me even more.
Eliza Madrigal: Oooh like violinists in small park tunnels....
Bleu Oleander: that's a good excitement
Bruce Mowbray: Oh yes! I love the live music in the subways.
Gaya Ethaniel: I guess these activities bring a focus and groundedness Bleu?
Bleu Oleander: very much so Gaya
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes I understand.
--BELL--
Bruce Mowbray: Regarding sensitivity to the environment. . . .
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Shint :)
Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Shint.
Shint Kinomis: hello everyone
Bleu Oleander: hi Shint
Eliza Madrigal: Hello Shint
Gaya Ethaniel: Welcome to PlayasBeing :)
Shint Kinomis: Thank you
Eliza Madrigal: Nice to meet you Shint. I'll need to be going now. Thank you all
Bruce Mowbray: Welcome, Gon.
Gaya Ethaniel: Enjoy your day Eliza :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Gon :)
Bruce Mowbray: Thank you, Eliza.
Gon Xue: hi
Bleu Oleander: need to go too .... bye all :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Have fun Bleu :)
Bruce Mowbray: Thanks, Bleu, Have a grand day.
Bruce Mowbray: Be well and happy, Ed!
Shint Kinomis: byebye
Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Bert!
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Bert :)
Gon Xue: gaya where did you get your T-shirt ?
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Bertram Jacobus: hi bruce, gaya and gon ! ... :-)
Gon Xue: it's funny
Gon Xue: hi~
Gaya Ethaniel: Gon is one of my Korean friends in SL.
Gon Xue: hahahaha you made it
Bertram Jacobus: whaow - cool - hi again gon ! :-)
Gaya Ethaniel: yep :)
Gon Xue: hi~ all
Bertram Jacobus: hehe - nice - korea - so intersting ! ...
Gon Xue: oh
Gon Xue: really?
Gon Xue: what kind of?
Bertram Jacobus: you still have a divided country like ours was before - germany ...
Gon Xue: hahaha what r u doing gaya
Gaya Ethaniel: Gon made this :)
Gon Xue: it's old version
Bruce Mowbray: WOW!!!!
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes I like this one best :)
Gon Xue: i like this
Gaya Ethaniel: ty :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes N Korea is going through power change atm ... it's a bit worrying.
Bertram Jacobus: may be survival pacs which you wear both gaya and gon - for the outer space (gaya) and the earth (gon) (?) ... ;-)
Gaya Ethaniel: lol
Gon Xue: hahaha
Bertram Jacobus: :-))
Gon Xue: who is female?
Bertram Jacobus: do you think, korea can be reunited one day also again - like germany gon ?
Shint Kinomis: do you wish it?
Gaya Ethaniel ponders ...
Gon Xue: yep i wish too
Gon Xue: ah
Gaya Ethaniel: I think I wish because we can't live in this kind of hyper tension forever.
Bertram Jacobus: oh. hy shirt - sry - didn´t see you - how unaware of me ! ...
Gon Xue: my stuff is female version only ..
Gaya Ethaniel: Bert can play female for a day I'm sure :)
Bertram Jacobus: and i agree with gaya and gon
Bertram Jacobus: lol - would be possibkle, yes ;o)
Gaya Ethaniel: I think there is an adverse effect on people living under similar conditions.
Gaya Ethaniel: Though it seems that one gets used to it and live as though everything is ok.
Gaya Ethaniel: But it affects ...
Bertram Jacobus: yes. but i believe that uniting is better then dividing ...
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
--BELL--
Gaya Ethaniel: What's your thoughts Shint?
Shint Kinomis: i think
Shint Kinomis: S korea , N korea have having different culture sence 60 ago
Shint Kinomis: so
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes it would be very hard ...
Shint Kinomis: like economy, american words and so on
Gaya Ethaniel: N Korea is hm ... one of kinds anyway.
Bertram Jacobus: we had the same in germany, for around 45 years ...
Shint Kinomis: this maybe obstacle to unitificate
Gon Xue: korea is 60 years
Gon Xue: 65 years
Gon Xue: so long tome
Gaya Ethaniel nods ...
Bertram Jacobus: in our country, it was not (an obstacle, at least)
Gaya Ethaniel: Please say more Bert?
Bertram Jacobus: i think, it was also, that we always wanted the reuniting. never gave the thought up. at least many and leaders ...
Bertram Jacobus: and also the people in the not free part of our country weren´t happy at all
Bertram Jacobus: at least most not
Bertram Jacobus: and so the means of diplomacy and never giving up led to the goal in the end
Bertram Jacobus: although nobody was ever sure whether it would happen
Gaya Ethaniel: I think longer we leave it, more distant N & S becomes perhaps.
Bertram Jacobus: it was simply a point of time, when suddenly all conditions came together to make it possible
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes in a sense, one can't really predict that timing precisely.
Bertram Jacobus: sure ! it is astonishing, how intense the differences already became in the 45 years in east and west germany ! it´s said, that we will another two generations to get over that (after one generation now already is so to say "new") ...
Bertram Jacobus: + need
Gaya Ethaniel: But people are quite resilient :)
Bertram Jacobus: lets hope so ! ;-)
Gaya Ethaniel: I'm a hopeless optimist :P
Bertram Jacobus: great ! i love that ! :-)
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Bertram Jacobus: and it´s not easy, but it happend and happens, luckily and as a fact here :-)
Gaya Ethaniel: I think people can achieve so much if they put their minds to something.
Gaya Ethaniel: ... minds together as well :)
Bertram Jacobus: yes. that seems to be like this ... hm
Gaya Ethaniel: I was thinking recently how subjective one's view is ...
Bertram Jacobus: and sometimes i feel my mind being so weak and lazy ... i must admit ...
Gaya Ethaniel: Say two groups in a conflict and if I'm in group A, group B looks intimidating and everyone in group A is 'good'.
Gaya Ethaniel: But if I have a chance to switch to be in group B, everyone in group B suddenly looks friendly, a total reverse.
Bertram Jacobus: yes ... hm ...
Gaya Ethaniel: But the feelings against the other group members seem to absolute at each situation.
Bertram Jacobus: but only when we do not practise such considerations as you do here gaya (?) :-)
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Gaya Ethaniel: I think it's difficult to see beyond one's perspective/circumstances in a conflict ...
Gaya Ethaniel: Not seeing someone in the other camp as an enemy ... it's tough!
Bertram Jacobus: but difficult means not impossible (lol : optimistic view) ;o)
Gaya Ethaniel: I guess it's already done when one identifies with a group.
Gaya Ethaniel: That's why it's difficult to change after the fact.
Bertram Jacobus: *agree*
Gaya Ethaniel: Like saying I'm a South Korean :P
Bertram Jacobus: it´s one important aspect
Gaya Ethaniel: I always say I'm Korean then people always ask if I'm from South or North.
--BELL--
Bertram Jacobus: but if we remind the holistic view ... all that gets more relative, doesn´t it ?
Bertram Jacobus: oops - sry [silence]
Bertram Jacobus: but the question is very serious i guess - no ? because south and east in korea makes such a big difference in a way
Gaya Ethaniel: Time to go back to RL :) Nice seeing you all. Have a good day/nighit!
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes and no :)
Bertram Jacobus: oops - again ! silly me [silence sry unbelievable !]
Bertram Jacobus: bye gaya -
Gon Xue: you go out?
Bertram Jacobus: therefore i had written "in a way" ;-)
Gon Xue: ooops/////
Gon Xue: hm..
Bertram Jacobus: yes : some people are really quick with logging off
Bertram Jacobus: so i´ll do so too, but i´m more slow i think ... ;-)
Gon Xue: haha
Gon Xue: i think so
Gon Xue: and
Gon Xue: i log out too
Gon Xue: haha
Gon Xue: cya all
Shint Kinomis: oyaoya
Bertram Jacobus: ty for the accommodation all - and have a goot time plz
Bruce Mowbray: Bye for now!
Gon Xue: bye~ all
Bertram Jacobus: would be nice to meet you again
Shint Kinomis: good bye gon san
Bertram Jacobus: may all beings be happy plz !
