Eliza Madrigal: I walk my son to school in the mornings... tiny little walk, and I noticed myself sort of rushing to get back home and begin my day after... but when I slow, it is like there is 'more time' because there is an appreciative capacity
Bruce Mowbray: Wonderful, Eliza. That's what I am looking for now.
Eliza Madrigal: so taking more in... and that seems to seep into everything
Gaya Ethaniel: So you must be quite sensitive Bruce to your surroundings.

Bertram Jacobus: and also the people in the not free part of our country weren´t happy at all

Bertram Jacobus: and so the means of diplomacy and never giving up led to the goal in the end
Bertram Jacobus: although nobody was ever sure whether it would happen
Gaya Ethaniel: I think longer we leave it, more distant N & S becomes perhaps.
Bertram Jacobus: it was simply a point of time, when suddenly all conditions came together to make it possible
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes in a sense, one can't really predict that timing precisely.
Bertram Jacobus: sure ! it is astonishing, how intense the differences already became in the 45 years in east and west germany ! it´s said, that we will another two generations to get over that (after one generation now already is so to say "new") ...

Gaya Ethaniel: Say two groups in a conflict and if I'm in group A, group B looks intimidating and everyone in group A is 'good'.
Gaya Ethaniel: But if I have a chance to switch to be in group B, everyone in group B suddenly looks friendly, a total reverse.

Gaya Ethaniel: But the feelings against the other group members seem to absolute at each situation.
Bertram Jacobus: but only when we do not practise such considerations as you do here gaya (?) :-)

Gaya Ethaniel: I think it's difficult to see beyond one's perspective/circumstances in a conflict ...
Gaya Ethaniel: Not seeing someone in the other camp as an enemy ... it's tough!

Gaya Ethaniel: I guess it's already done when one identifies with a group.
Gaya Ethaniel: That's why it's difficult to change after the fact.
