Holidays

Korel Laloix: Was glad to have the long weekend. Went to a couple of American Genocide Day events.. so thoughtful weekend as well.

stevenaia Michinaga: summer was here last week, so hard to know what the impact of the cold will be, seems to far off :) except, this morning I took the 6:00 AM bus and it was dark :(
Aphrodite Macbain: what did you do on Genocide Day?
Korel Laloix: Wish I could just average us out a bit.
Korel Laloix: I danced at one again this year and just attended the other.
stevenaia Michinaga: I do not know of "American Genocide Day"
Aphrodite Macbain: sounds very sad
Korel Laloix: Our version of Columbus Day. So we pay our respects to mass murders like Lincoln and the like.

Birthdays

Korel Laloix: I do Christmas in January so it is not as commercial for me... orthodox calendar.
Aphrodite Macbain: My birthday's this month so I associate it with cake, and candies, and liquorish icing
Korel Laloix: Mine is in December... so I have certain associations as well.
Aphrodite Macbain: I remember pinning the tail of donkey blindfolded and sticking it into a jar of peanut butter. Yech
stevenaia Michinaga: mine too, birthdays always have an interesting association with holidays surround you

stevenaia Michinaga: early, doesn't really matter it's an 8 day moving holiday, this year it starts on Thanksgiving and won't again for 30,000 years

stevenaia Michinaga: yes, the nature of lunar calendars and 28 day months and every 4 years there is a leap month

Korel Laloix: My friends from high school feel the same way about high school.. so no need for that to keep in touch with them.
