Qt Core: Hi Wol!
Quinby Hancroft: can one of you help me?
Quinby Hancroft: Hello!!
Quinby Hancroft: do you own this land??
Qt Core: Hi quinby
Quinby Hancroft: i was riding a bicycle here and cross the sim border and lost it and was wondering if you would know how to send it back to me?
Wol Euler: oh, hello
Wol Euler: sorry, I was inthe kitchen
Qt Core: i don't know anything about that maybe Wol here
Wol Euler: let me see if I can see it .....
Quinby Hancroft: thank you :D
Wol Euler: hmmm, it isn
Wol Euler: I'm not seeing anything owned by you in the immediate area
Quinby Hancroft: well thank you for checking i appreciate it!!
Wol Euler: I hate to ask silly questions, but have you checked your inventory?`the Lost and Found?
Quinby Hancroft: yes i have
Quinby Hancroft: but sometimes they get stuck on the land when you cross the borders
Wol Euler nods.
Quinby Hancroft: i thought it would have been safe on a bike but nope lmao
Quinby Hancroft: anyways thank you for your help i appreciate it!
Wol Euler: if that were the case, then it'll be in the ohter parcel, back where you crossed over
Qt Core: do we have a return time maybe ? you are getting it back to you in a while
Wol Euler: it will probably come to you in a few hours, or a day
Wol Euler: good morning, qt
Qt Core: would like auto return thing in Rl :-)
Wol Euler: heheheh, really
Qt Core: good morning to you, Wol
Wol Euler: how's life?
Qt Core: (wpuld be fin for all the people throwing garbage right and left
Qt Core: almost good, had an hour walk uder this (horrible ;-) ) sun
Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: good morning, aggers
Qt Core: you ?
Qt Core: Hi Aga
Agatha Macbeth: Morning PaBlings
Agatha Macbeth yawns
Wol Euler: I slept badly, sorry to say, because of indigestion and the aftereffects of alcohol
Agatha Macbeth: Aww
Agatha Macbeth: Naughty
Wol Euler: belly full of bad food yesterday that just sat around not digesting
Agatha Macbeth: Why do people do stuff like that when they celebrate? :p
Wol Euler: 42.
Agatha Macbeth: Xmas is just the same
--BELL--
Agatha Macbeth: Eat healthy all year then make yourself ill for your birthday - makes perfect sense
Wol Euler laughs.
Agatha Macbeth stops being mother and shuts up
Wol Euler: awwww
Qt Core: you know i'm almost planning that for this year ;-) I haven't drink a Coke sice septemper and i'm planning to have one on my birthday
Wol Euler: in fairness, there were kids involved, and they prefer junk quickly delivered to healthy food that one waits for.
Agatha Macbeth: Over indulgence eh QT? ;-)
Wol Euler: they prefer junk anyway, actually
Agatha Macbeth: Well true that
Agatha Macbeth: Like Pokémon
Qt Core: yes, hoping to discover i don't like it anymore
Wol Euler: the little one is still in the phase of being deathly afraid of sauces
Agatha Macbeth: Saucephobia?
Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: the French and the Italians probably have words for that
Agatha Macbeth looks to QT
Qt Core: then in a few years they'll put mayo even in theyr milk...
Wol Euler: mmhmm
Wol Euler: they do grow into it, the boy (older) has started eating non-boring food
Wol Euler: and he's willing to try things before rejecting them
Qt Core: not really we found amusing how there is a word for every phopia in english (even if many are just newly-constructed and rarely used)
Agatha Macbeth: Soon be onto bratwurst and schnapps then
Qt Core: (going toeat some of the most phobic inducer foods today, liver)
Wol Euler: it's funny (as a non-parent) to watch their idea of fairness playing out. Girl knows that she doesn't like X, but if boy has it on his plate then she must have some too, which she leaves untouched.
Agatha Macbeth: Ah the lovely taste of metal
Wol Euler: liver is despised because it is so often badly cooked, easily ruined
Agatha Macbeth: And you can still taste it hours after eating
Agatha Macbeth: :p
Wol Euler: again, depends how it's cooked
Agatha Macbeth: I only ever have it with mushrooms
Qt Core: the less you cook it the better it is
Wol Euler: right
Agatha Macbeth makes a mental note to try raw liver
Wol Euler: I had some lovely chicken liver in red wine sauce in Israel, just barely seared in the pan
Qt Core: there are lower limits, let say 30 seconds for side
Agatha Macbeth: Well they have to find find a substitute for pork and ham of course
Wol Euler nods.
Qt Core: sadly i don't have good bread at home today, i like good bread with my liver
Wol Euler: oh boo
Wol Euler: what went wrong? :)
Agatha Macbeth: Aww
Agatha Macbeth: The bread shop closed down?
Qt Core: (too lazy to take my car and go to the nearest open bakery)
Wol Euler: ha!
Agatha Macbeth: You could walk and get fit ;-)
Wol Euler grins.
Wol Euler: well, in this heat ...
Agatha Macbeth: Then miss the gym for a day
Qt Core: already done that, no gym yesterday an hour walk today, but in the wrong direction i may say now
Agatha Macbeth shakes her head
Qt Core: but found a pastry/coffee shop in the way, had a nice breakfast
Wol Euler: ah ;)
--BELL--
Agatha Macbeth: (IM with Mira atm)
Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: So, Qt, have you read any good books lately?
Qt Core: a biography of Leonardo, didn't agree with tha author thesis that he is a new age scientist ;-)\
Agatha Macbeth listens
Agatha Macbeth: 0.0
--BELL--
Qt Core: i think he was "just" the last and probably the better of the era when one could know and excel at many topics
Wol Euler: what does "new age" mean in that context?
Agatha Macbeth: Never did unstand what 'new age' is supposed to mean
Agatha Macbeth: +der
Qt Core: in this case the "everithing is linked" "you can't reduce science to cold numbers" ideas
Wol Euler: ah
Wol Euler: which is actually an extremely old idea, recently made fashionable :)
Agatha Macbeth: Can't imagine there was anything cold about someone who painted the Mona Lisa
Wol Euler: says more to me about the ineptitude of the author than about Leonardo
Agatha Macbeth: Right
Agatha Macbeth: I think of him as a polytechnician
Qt Core: it is true that with today too many specialization we risk not to see some things that refuse to be limited by our boundaries
Wol Euler nods.
Agatha Macbeth: Indeed
Qt Core: there should be a family of scienctific minded people whose job would be only to select almost randomly) a group of scientific theories and see if they could be related in some way ;-)
Agatha Macbeth: I read a book once which posed the idea he created the Turin shroud, but I think radiocarbon dating disproved that
Wol Euler: Qt, that is pretty much what Pema does :)
Qt Core: yes, an as he was known to sometime do pranks it would be nice ;-)
Qt Core: the crazy guy ;-)
Agatha Macbeth: Hehe
Wol Euler smiles.
Agatha Macbeth: Don't scientific theories usually relate to each other anyway?
Qt Core: i remember reading about the tea room for professors (at harward, maybe) where a physic noted some equation numbers a mathematician had in his hand and they noticed that those equation about prime numbers exactly described some quantum thing
Agatha Macbeth nods
Wol Euler: mmhmm
Agatha Macbeth: Exactly
Qt Core: it was "the music of the primes" or something like that by Marc du Soutoy, one of the best books i've ever read, even read it twice
Wol Euler: wow
Wol Euler makes a note
Wol Euler: (though personally I re-read most books)
Qt Core: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Music_of_the_Primes
Agatha Macbeth nods. Pythagorean stuff
Qt Core: i rarely do it, so many books so little time :-)
Agatha Macbeth: I usually reread the ones I like :p
Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: perhaps that means that I only buy books which I belive will be good enough to support re-reading
Wol Euler: I don't usually take library books out twice
Qt Core: rereading the one one hate would ve masochistic...
Qt Core: so someone may like that too ;-)
Wol Euler: that book sounds great, I will have to read it
Agatha Macbeth: Actually if I don't like it I rarely finish it, just dispatch it to Oxfam :p
--BELL--
Qt Core: i don't like to finish books and feel guilty if i do, but some are really "unfinishable" Thinking about that one of those was a book of thoughts by Leonardo...
Qt Core: but it was in his original italian, so hard to read
Agatha Macbeth: Must have been a bit like reading Shakespeare
Qt Core: has he himself said he was "a man with no letters"
Qt Core: so he was let say "original" as with everything else in his grammar and word choosing
Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: is there a guardians' meeting today?
Agatha Macbeth: No (I think)
Agatha Macbeth: No, last week
Wol Euler: good
Agatha Macbeth: Liz would have sent a reminder anyway
Wol Euler: true
Agatha Macbeth: Right, shopping time
Qt Core: while i don't think i'll ever have kids Leonardo is one of then names i'd like for them (i have even the excuse of a greatparent named Leonardo) :-)
Qt Core: have fun Aga
Wol Euler: have fun!
Agatha Macbeth: Good idea that
Wol Euler nods.
Agatha Macbeth: Leonardo Core
Agatha Macbeth: Has a certain ring to it
Wol Euler nods.
Agatha Macbeth: Byee
Qt Core: sadly most will think i like the teenage mutant turtles...
Wol Euler: bye for now
Wol Euler: that is true, and very sad
Wol Euler: I wonder what percentage of TMNT fans don't know where their names come from
Qt Core: well if even only an handful of kid had looked up at who whas who it is good
Qt Core: :-)
Wol Euler: yes, I guess so
Wol Euler: whatever gets kids curious and learning is good
--BELL--
Qt Core: i have to go, food to prepare and eat, mother to attend
Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: enjoy the day, qt
Qt Core: bye wol, you too
