Qt Core: not really we found amusing how there is a word for every phopia in english (even if many are just newly-constructed and rarely used)

Qt Core: (going toeat some of the most phobic inducer foods today, liver)
Wol Euler: it's funny (as a non-parent) to watch their idea of fairness playing out. Girl knows that she doesn't like X, but if boy has it on his plate then she must have some too, which she leaves untouched.
Agatha Macbeth: Ah the lovely taste of metal
Wol Euler: liver is despised because it is so often badly cooked, easily ruined
Agatha Macbeth: And you can still taste it hours after eating

Wol Euler: again, depends how it's cooked
Agatha Macbeth: I only ever have it with mushrooms
Qt Core: the less you cook it the better it is

Wol Euler: I had some lovely chicken liver in red wine sauce in Israel, just barely seared in the pan
Qt Core: there are lower limits, let say 30 seconds for side
Agatha Macbeth: Well they have to find find a substitute for pork and ham of course

Qt Core: sadly i don't have good bread at home today, i like good bread with my liver

Qt Core: i think he was "just" the last and probably the better of the era when one could know and excel at many topics
Wol Euler: what does "new age" mean in that context?
Agatha Macbeth: Never did unstand what 'new age' is supposed to mean

Qt Core: in this case the "everithing is linked" "you can't reduce science to cold numbers" ideas
Wol Euler: ah
Wol Euler: which is actually an extremely old idea, recently made fashionable :)

Agatha Macbeth: Can't imagine there was anything cold about someone who painted the Mona Lisa
Wol Euler: says more to me about the ineptitude of the author than about Leonardo

Qt Core: it is true that with today too many specialization we risk not to see some things that refuse to be limited by our boundaries

Qt Core: there should be a family of scienctific minded people whose job would be only to select almost randomly) a group of scientific theories and see if they could be related in some way ;-)
Agatha Macbeth: I read a book once which posed the idea he created the Turin shroud, but I think radiocarbon dating disproved that
Wol Euler: Qt, that is pretty much what Pema does :)
Qt Core: yes, an as he was known to sometime do pranks it would be nice ;-)

Qt Core: i remember reading about the tea room for professors (at harward, maybe) where a physic noted some equation numbers a mathematician had in his hand and they noticed that those equation about prime numbers exactly described some quantum thing

Qt Core: it was "the music of the primes" or something like that by Marc du Soutoy, one of the best books i've ever read, even read it twice

Qt Core: i don't like to finish books and feel guilty if i do, but some are really "unfinishable" Thinking about that one of those was a book of thoughts by Leonardo...
Qt Core: but it was in his original italian, so hard to read
