Agatha Macbeth: Guten morgen
Wol Euler: buenos dias!
Agatha Macbeth: Mega mega
Wol Euler: hoder!
Agatha Macbeth: Noddy?
Wol Euler: hoder.
Agatha Macbeth: Ah
Agatha Macbeth: Antidishestablishmentarianism
Wol Euler: supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Agatha Macbeth nods
Agatha Macbeth: Llanfairpwll....oh sod it
Wol Euler: yeah, that one.
Agatha Macbeth: Did you sleep well?
Wol Euler: I did, thank you. That won't stop me having at least one nap today though :)
Wol Euler: and you?
Agatha Macbeth: Natch
Agatha Macbeth: Waking up is my probem ;-)
Agatha Macbeth: I'm not a morning person
Wol Euler: my body thinks I'm a morning person, my brain thinks I'm a night owl
Agatha Macbeth: Therein lies a dichotomy methinks
Wol Euler: verily
Wol Euler: in other news, I've become a Van Morrison fan in my (and his) old age
Agatha Macbeth: Great
Wol Euler: I've been listening to Astral Weeks and Veedon Fleece alternately
Agatha Macbeth: How's Gloria?
Agatha Macbeth: Wonder if Zen knows him?
Wol Euler: probably he does, Ireland is a small country.
Wol Euler: they're sure to have met at the veggie store
Agatha Macbeth: Especially the north
Agatha Macbeth: Yep
Agatha Macbeth: Van the man
Wol Euler: I remember hearing about this stuff in my youth, and deciding not to listen to it because I would not like it.
Wol Euler: No idea why :)
Agatha Macbeth: You were too young for it
Wol Euler: But I definitely had that impression of his work
Wol Euler: I think it was two things: first, the label "folk music" frightened me off.
Wol Euler: nothing with that label could *possibly* be good.
Wol Euler: and secondly, the fact that the hippies and druggies liked it
Agatha Macbeth: At least he doesn't go 'oo arr'
Wol Euler: I avoided Siddharta for decades because of them
--BELL--
Agatha Macbeth: Ha
Agatha Macbeth: Hippies and druggies are people too you know :p
Wol Euler: well, I guess
Wol Euler: but I mistrusted their judgement, since hippies and druggies.
Agatha Macbeth: I'm sure they have their own rights movement
Agatha Macbeth: 'Justice for H & D'
Agatha Macbeth: Anyway, I digress
Agatha Macbeth: She's a lovely girl you know
Wol Euler: so I hear
Wol Euler: I was thinking during the pause of how I came to listen to these albums
Wol Euler: and the winner is: internet music sharing.
Wol Euler: I bought two physical CDs because I heard the Allman Brothers playing "Into the Mystic" for free on the internet.
Wol Euler: memo to the record companies: 1) we aren't all thieves; and 2) your conception of distribution and information-sharing is outdated
