Agatha Macbeth: And here's our girl :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Looking tres chic
Eliza Madrigal: thanks :) Needs a pill hat, I think
Agatha Macbeth: Brand new leopardskin pillbox hat?
    Agatha Macbeth: Rather
Eliza Madrigal: something is awry with my hover height too
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Agatha Macbeth: You look OK to moi
Agatha Macbeth: R Click on yourself and check
    Eliza Madrigal: due to fidgeting
    Agatha Macbeth: Awww
    Eliza Madrigal: How are you?
Agatha Macbeth: I have that problem too
    Agatha Macbeth: Still here :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Agatha Macbeth: Don't your feet get wet doing that?
Eliza Madrigal: yes, and these water socks
    Agatha Macbeth: Virtual wetness
Eliza Madrigal: but at least my toes won't get bitten by fish
Agatha Macbeth: We need Blub back
Eliza Madrigal: maybe we should leave a note for Brucie, that he will find on Saturday session
    Eliza Madrigal grins
Agatha Macbeth: I've seen Brucie a couple of times at Elijah's meditations
Eliza Madrigal: big sign "We need Blub"
    Agatha Macbeth: Yeh
Eliza Madrigal: Oh? You've been attending?
    Agatha Macbeth: One or two
    Agatha Macbeth: At PP
Agatha Macbeth: He does them in the same place as Bert
Eliza Madrigal: I don't get notices from PP anymore, even though I connect with Mira all the time
Eliza Madrigal: she did some clean-out a while back
Eliza Madrigal: and I was cleaned out :)
Agatha Macbeth: Helge said she's busy with RL these days
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh strange that
Agatha Macbeth: She's still on mine
Eliza Madrigal: just PP.... I can understand it
Eliza Madrigal: She wants to foster community sense of privacy or something
Agatha Macbeth: Sounds like an oxymoron :p
Eliza Madrigal: It does, SL is weird ^.^
    Agatha Macbeth: This is true
    --BELL--1.00
Agatha Macbeth: SLers even weirder quite often
Agatha Macbeth: Thank goodness for normal people like us eh?
Eliza Madrigal: trouble seems to come when one expects it not to be
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Storm!
    Agatha Macbeth: Stormy :)
    Storm Nordwind: Hello!
Agatha Macbeth: Good to see you again
    Storm Nordwind: You too :)
Eliza Madrigal: tell us everything that's been going on :))
    Agatha Macbeth: Yeh
    Agatha Macbeth: Go on
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Storm Nordwind twists a flower and thereby conveys something profound to those who can interpret such things
    Agatha Macbeth: The Storm report...
    Eliza Madrigal: perfect
Agatha Macbeth: Heaven in a wild flower?
Eliza Madrigal: a wild heaven hopefully :)
Agatha Macbeth: Born to be wild
Storm Nordwind: Ah that would be nice. Walking across moorland amid the heather
    Agatha Macbeth: With Cathy
Agatha Macbeth: But not waving semophore flags
Storm Nordwind: You've lost me Agatha. Remember I've been inducted into American ways and am no longer conversant with these things.
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah
Eliza Madrigal is clueless too ^.^
Agatha Macbeth: Lemme see if I can enlighten
Eliza Madrigal: I was thinking it must be nice in CO this time of year... had a dream of mountains as far as the eye could see
Eliza Madrigal: but knew in the dream I was still in Miami somehow :)
    Agatha Macbeth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91_jymgH8QY
    Agatha Macbeth: There you go
Storm Nordwind: It is wonderful Eliza, with fall colors everywhere, and the first snows forecast for next week
    Eliza Madrigal: so soon!
    Eliza Madrigal clicks
    Eliza Madrigal: oooh :))
Storm Nordwind: Aha! Twentieth Century Vole - now I remember!
    Eliza Madrigal: haha
    Agatha Macbeth: :P
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah memories
    Storm Nordwind: Utterly fabulous!
Agatha Macbeth: I love the bit where he wants to shout, so he uses bigger flags
Eliza Madrigal: makes as much sense as anything else!
Agatha Macbeth: As David Byrne said...stop making sense
    Eliza Madrigal: omgoodness, the light....
Agatha Macbeth: 'Burning down the house'
Eliza Madrigal: that's too much :) thanks
    Agatha Macbeth: YW ♥
Eliza Madrigal: I was hoping Tura would be here today, since I finished the book "Lifeshocks" and wanted to give my review :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh nice
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe we can ask her on Tuesday
Storm Nordwind: Now I'm put in mind of UOGB. But that's just more fun, and we're supposed to be serious. Maybe?
Bleu Oleander's current display-name is "Bleu".

                     2.jpg
    Agatha Macbeth: Bleuji :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Bleu :)
    Bleu Oleander: hi all :)
    Agatha Macbeth: UOGB?
    Storm Nordwind: Hey Bleu
Eliza Madrigal: no need to be serious, what is that?
Storm Nordwind: Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh of course
    Eliza Madrigal: of course? lol
    Agatha Macbeth scratches head
Storm Nordwind: Let me get you the relevant link to fit in with what we saw
Agatha Macbeth: I remember the Mahavishnu Orchestra
    Storm Nordwind: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmBaE7ozWow
Agatha Macbeth: Where would we be without Youtube
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh cool
    Eliza Madrigal grinning
Eliza Madrigal: Bleu, we've just watched the samovarian version of Wuthering Heights, which has led us here
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Storm Nordwind: Their concert videos are great. But this is special
Agatha Macbeth: Oh I like the ukelele version of Teenage dirtbag :D
    Agatha Macbeth: Far out
    --BELL--1.15
Agatha Macbeth: She sounds like Maddy Prior
    Bleu Oleander: thanks, was wondering!
    Agatha Macbeth: Hehe
Agatha Macbeth: Always expect the unexpected at PaB
    Bleu Oleander: :)
Eliza Madrigal laughs. That was great
Agatha Macbeth: Think I'll keep this on in the background
Eliza Madrigal: I used to own the Juliette Binoche version of WH... wonder what movies like that did to my perceptions of romance
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
    Agatha Macbeth wonders too
Eliza Madrigal: So how are things, Bleu?
Bleu Oleander: fine here thanks, raining finally! you all?
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh wow
    Eliza Madrigal: Excellent!
Agatha Macbeth: Now they're playing Psycho killer!
Agatha Macbeth: This is too much
Storm Nordwind: versatile and a lot of fun
    Agatha Macbeth: Indeed
Eliza Madrigal: must be fun live
Storm Nordwind: I don't think they ever come here
Agatha Macbeth: Drac thinks it's fun dead too
Agatha Macbeth watches Liz's bubbles in the dstance
    Eliza Madrigal: aren't they soothing?
    Agatha Macbeth: They are
    Eliza Madrigal: whimsy therapy
    Agatha Macbeth: Whimsy is good
Agatha Macbeth: Whiskey is even better
Storm Nordwind: Wimsey is also good
    Agatha Macbeth: Dunno her
Eliza Madrigal: One thing I'd forgotten about SL, is how therapeutic it can be when stressed over things one has no control over in RL
    Storm Nordwind: Lord Peter Wimsey?
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh him, right
    Agatha Macbeth: Ian Carmichael
Agatha Macbeth: I remember the carry on team's version...Lord Peter Flimsy
    Storm Nordwind rolls eyes
Agatha Macbeth: 'Is it pith?" 'No my Lord, merely condensation'
Agatha Macbeth: No wonder the rest of the world thinks we're nuts
Eliza Madrigal: the rest of the world has no room to talk :)
Agatha Macbeth: Depends where you go :p
    Bleu Oleander: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Does someone have an interesting topic? Or a book possibility to weigh in on next week?
Agatha Macbeth gets the scales ready
Storm Nordwind has the Feather of Maat ready
    Eliza Madrigal looks for blindfold
    Agatha Macbeth: Yay
Agatha Macbeth: Maat was more than just a goddess, she was a whole concept
Eliza Madrigal: what's the most interesting thing about her?
Agatha Macbeth: I think she's pretty interesting all round
Agatha Macbeth: Yay spelled it right
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    --BELL--1.30
Eliza Madrigal: thinking so much about justice lately, probably too much
    Bleu Oleander: what's that?
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Agatha Macbeth: There ain't no justice
Eliza Madrigal: that's the thing about thinking about justice a lot :P
    Bleu Oleander: money and power
Eliza Madrigal: it seems that way, yet, I seem to have some stubborn cosmic sense of a wider reality things might find context in if I can only connect the dots :)
Eliza Madrigal: I'm mostly at peace with the idea of nonclosure in lots of contexts
Eliza Madrigal: but never imagined 'we' would do anything but move forward as we knew more and connected more as cultures and peoples
Agatha Macbeth: Depends who we is :p
Bleu Oleander: moving forward was never a given
Eliza Madrigal: true, but doesn't it seem even mathematically wrong, to multiply our knowledge and go backwards? :)
    Bleu Oleander: nope
    Bleu Oleander: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Agatha Macbeth: Never underestimate the forces of reaction
Storm Nordwind is unsure how people measure direction
Eliza Madrigal: now? or in general?
    Agatha Macbeth salutes the general
Bleu Oleander: you are talking about homo sapiens, right?
Storm Nordwind: Both really. People would, I guess, need some reference. A benchmark. A goal perhaps.
Storm Nordwind: Is my forward, for example, everyone's forward?
    Bleu Oleander: exactly
Eliza Madrigal nods... but it does seem different now
Eliza Madrigal: some are zooming forward
Agatha Macbeth: Depends which way you're facing i guess
Storm Nordwind: Zooming forward, implying some are being 'left behind'?
Bleu Oleander: hasn't that always been the case? with different individuals, different species ?
Eliza Madrigal: yes, I feel that way
Eliza Madrigal: I think my family situation is a microcosm, so I have no buffer...
Eliza Madrigal: progress made, wiped away
Agatha Macbeth: A very cute microcosm
    Bleu Oleander: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I mean the family I come from in this case :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh
Eliza Madrigal: my cute microcosm is doing okay >whew<
Storm Nordwind: Wiped away - That's an awful sickening feeling of despair, Eliza.
    Eliza Madrigal: it is
    --BELL--1.45
Bleu Oleander: sounds intentional ... maybe just fades away?
Agatha Macbeth: Old soldiers and all that
Bleu Oleander: what specifically are you talking about?
Eliza Madrigal: trying to figure out how to say specifically
Eliza Madrigal: I think most people have difficulties with their wider family connections... a person or two to whom they can't speak about things, and some issues which are danced around, and that is the case for me, for most of my adult life
Eliza Madrigal: I have already, few family connections, and have worked hard at the balances
Bleu Oleander: can name a bunch of those myself haha!
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Bleu Oleander: back to Maat and balance!
Agatha Macbeth: As opposed to Isfet
Eliza Madrigal: the 'news' and the stoking of issues is pretty impossible lately, and so I feel my 'family' is a microcosm of what powers are doing to people/families/country/world
Eliza Madrigal: quite intentionally, it seems
Storm Nordwind: I wonder whether, historically, that's how humanity spread. Not from growth, or a spirit of adventure, but from family disharmonies. If so, it's hardwired into us.
    Bleu Oleander: yes :(
Eliza Madrigal: where to go now, Storm? :)
Bleu Oleander: well us vs them is hardwired it seems
    Storm Nordwind: Colorado? ;)
    Eliza Madrigal laughs
    Bleu Oleander: ha!
Storm Nordwind: Except it's too expensive here now, so I'm told
Eliza Madrigal nods, would be hard for me
Eliza Madrigal: although I think all my 3 would go if I could figure it out ^.^
Storm Nordwind: You let me know of ANY (short of financial!) help you ever want.
Agatha Macbeth: Don't forget the oxygen tent
    Storm Nordwind: Oxygen shmoxygen
    Eliza Madrigal laughs
    Agatha Macbeth pokes Stormy
Storm Nordwind: We got 17% less than you. It's not what you have, it's what you do with it that counts.
    Agatha Macbeth: Mm
Eliza Madrigal: I do think your wider point seems right though... we still haven't caught up with the reality perhaps that there is no where to go now...we have to get along with each other and work with the planet we've got :)
Eliza Madrigal: (apologies for all the 'we's) ;-)
    Bleu Oleander: mars maybe?
    Agatha Macbeth: Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Eliza Madrigal: Well Elon may get there :)
Storm Nordwind: Elon may be sent there ;)
    Eliza Madrigal: hahahha
Eliza Madrigal needs Bruce's dies laughing animation
    Agatha Macbeth dies from laughing....
    Eliza Madrigal: !
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Storm Nordwind greases up the larger of his two trebuchets
Agatha Macbeth: Note i don't end up uner the pool
    Bleu Oleander: brb
    Eliza Madrigal: Hm
Eliza Madrigal: Today is a poetry celebration day isn't it? Are you writing, Storm?
    Agatha Macbeth: Is it
Storm Nordwind: It is?! Then, og whoops, no!
Eliza Madrigal shouldn't have told you, don't leave ;-)
Agatha Macbeth: There once was a girl from Nantucket...
Eliza Madrigal: who covered Agatha with a bucket
    Storm Nordwind: haha!
    Storm Nordwind: Touche!
Agatha Macbeth: That's the clean version
    Eliza Madrigal: sudsy even
Storm Nordwind: The best version (some say)
Storm Nordwind: I do keep writing poetry. And stories. Trying to every day
    Eliza Madrigal: that's fantastic
    Agatha Macbeth: You old romantic
    Storm Nordwind: Romantic?!
Eliza Madrigal: I'm really thinking of nanarimo-ing in November, but not for a novel
    Agatha Macbeth ducks
Storm Nordwind: That would be amazing! But... how would you have time?!!
Eliza Madrigal: class will be finished... and I'd take it lightly to see how far it could go
Eliza Madrigal: I've become far more disciplined due to this class
Storm Nordwind: But at say 2000 words a day, every day?!
Eliza Madrigal: well, I'd do my best
    --BELL--2.00
Eliza Madrigal: it would be a one toe in kind of thing
    Eliza Madrigal: modified rimo
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Storm Nordwind: You're an inspiration, Eliza (as ever). If you decide, please let me know how I can help. It's a half-thought with me too.
    Agatha Macbeth: Thomas the rimo
Eliza Madrigal: I think of the many years daughter has been doing it, she made the word count once once, but enjoyed it every time
Storm Nordwind: This month is Inktober, but I'm not contributing to that - so far.
    Agatha Macbeth: Which one?
    Eliza Madrigal: eldest
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh nice
Eliza Madrigal: she's actually a terrific writer... detailed, unlike me
Eliza Madrigal: Inktober is for writing? Thought of it as drawing
Storm Nordwind: It is, though the rules and FAQ mention writers and digital ink, so I could do it
    Eliza Madrigal: aha!
Storm Nordwind: But I think, instead, I'll use October to learn Toki Pona
Eliza Madrigal eyes fill with question marks
    Agatha Macbeth: A Maori god?
Storm Nordwind: A minimalist language: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toki_Pona
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah
    Agatha Macbeth: Interesting
    Eliza Madrigal: wow
    Agatha Macbeth: Sounds Finnish
Storm Nordwind: Found out about it on Mastodon (natch). Quite a following there.
    Eliza Madrigal: how wild
Storm Nordwind: 14% of the root words are Finnish
Storm Nordwind: But then there's only 120 root words!
    Agatha Macbeth: Thought so
Eliza Madrigal: "The language has 14 phonemes and 120 root words and is not designed as an international auxiliary language. Its minimalistic nature was inspired by Taoist philosophy, among other things."
Agatha Macbeth: Wonder if Fael and Fc know about it :p
    Storm Nordwind nods and smiles
    Eliza Madrigal: fascinating
Bleu Oleander: sorry long call ... need to go ... take care bfn
    Eliza Madrigal: take care Bleu!
    Agatha Macbeth: BFN Bleuji
    Agatha Macbeth: Hope she's alright
Eliza Madrigal: learning obscure things does help me to feel more hopeful about 'it all' somehow
Agatha Macbeth: Ex obscurite lux and all that
Eliza Madrigal: or 'about' obscure things
    Eliza Madrigal keeps google handy
Storm Nordwind: https://aiki.pbworks.com/f/tp+in+76+...ns+English.pdf for a pictoral tutorial
Agatha Macbeth: Wonder if it's like Basic English
Storm Nordwind: What is Basic English?
Agatha Macbeth: It was an attempt to reduce the dictionary :p
Agatha Macbeth: Expressed everything with 14 verbs
Agatha Macbeth: From the 30s or 40s i think
Eliza Madrigal: then to use it you'd have to forget most of what you know already?
Agatha Macbeth: Well just use it diffrently
Agatha Macbeth: Instead of 'return' say 'come again' etc.
    Eliza Madrigal: huh
Agatha Macbeth: Similar to hat Pidgin does
    Agatha Macbeth: (Bloody keyboard)
Storm Nordwind puts on a pigeon hat
Eliza Madrigal: This PDF gives a link to a Monty Python script .. probably have to have a decent grasp to follow that a little
    Eliza Madrigal: but, neat
Agatha Macbeth: Guess you get it or not :p
Agatha Macbeth: Bit like advanced physics
    --BELL--2.15
Eliza Madrigal: Okay.... better go for now. Thanks so much for being here
    Agatha Macbeth: TC ♥
    Storm Nordwind: tawa pona!
    Agatha Macbeth: Shalom
    Eliza Madrigal: tawa pona!!
Eliza Madrigal: (hope the response greeting is the same)
    Storm Nordwind: mi tawa!
    Agatha Macbeth: Aloha oe
Eliza Madrigal: and Shalom too ^.^ Aloha, bon voyage ;-)
    Eliza Madrigal: bye for now
