Eliza Madrigal: well, in the case of someone I spoke with earlier, some have such big challenges in their RLs yet come into SL and spend their time helping and working, basically...
Eliza Madrigal: working creatively...but taking on responsibilities, etc
Eliza Madrigal: I am moving too, Kori... and have lost my voice due to house dust from books :(((

Korel Laloix: Moving back in with Grandma.. they have my old room fixed back and all repaired.

Korel Laloix: Animations are so much better now than in the early days.. not as funny now really... so that is the down side.

Eliza Madrigal: well, there was the special STOPPING session that might bring inspiration, but no topic in particular
DR42 Resident: For a while, I was giving a bottle of scotch distilled and the month and year of someone as a birthday present.
Korel Laloix: That sounds lovely.

stevenaia Michinaga: gifts are usually inspiring as the person giving them has put much thought into the gift
DR42 Resident: Hey, I got poked, I'm dropping something fairly large. PaB. Going off grid for a while.
stevenaia Michinaga: and the appreciation of the receiver adds to the moment
Eliza Madrigal: sad about that... but know it is necessary sometimes

Eliza Madrigal: there are times when if I would have logged the time I was spending in SL, I know it would have seemed awful...

Eliza Madrigal: but those were high growth times in some cases, or deeply inspiring
Korel Laloix: Teh thing is for me.. most of the time I am in SL.. I am also doind something else.
Eliza Madrigal: yes... would have seemed "too much"
Korel Laloix: So rarely is it just a time sucker for me.
stevenaia Michinaga: most of the time I am here I would be doing something less meaningful

DR42 Resident: For me, it has been a break from reality, and also a time to make friends.
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, friends are valuable
stevenaia Michinaga: much to learn and appreciate from friends
Eliza Madrigal: most valuable
Korel Laloix: Great for my English as well.
DR42 Resident: Someone I met here a while back is coming over my house next weekend and we are going on a road trip to visit a few museums.
Korel Laloix: But SL has also given way to some very unhealthy things in my life as well.. so it is not all good.
stevenaia Michinaga: I would be happy w/o friends, but I am much happier with them
Eliza Madrigal: that is a marvelous thing to do... culture roadtrip
Korel Laloix: Sounds lovely really.
Eliza Madrigal: camping along the way?

DR42 Resident: No, gawd, no.
Korel Laloix: A couple of summers ago me and an ex took a long bike ride out to the Grand Canyon and back.. we stopped by all the National Grasslands and parks and Museums on the way.. camping most night. Was one of the best trips of my life really.
DR42 Resident: we are talking about taking a 2,700 mile (4,000 KM) \road trip the week after Christmas.
Korel Laloix: Nice.
DR42 Resident: Joshua tree? I love that place.
Eliza Madrigal: mmm have yet to see the Grand Canyon
DR42 Resident: To go to a wedding of another person we met here in SL.
Korel Laloix: We did not get to that part I dont think.. but we saw some.
Eliza Madrigal: seems you've formed very close friendships here
Eliza Madrigal: I can say the same... have met surprisingly few floridians though, strangely
Korel Laloix: I have for sure.. inside SL and out.
Eliza Madrigal: no one to meet for breakfast on a tuesday
Korel Laloix: I met a lot of FL people when I was down there.
DR42 Resident: lol, she lives in FL. Her soon to be works for NASA there.

Eliza Madrigal: my mom used to sing the Mr Ed song when I was growing up and I'd tease her.... but then I started watching that :)

DR42 Resident: I watch old Outer limits and Night gallery and twilight Zone shows.

Korel Laloix: I admit the occasional Youtube binge though.

DR42 Resident: I think of those shows as a low-tech version of SL.
Eliza Madrigal: I hated TV for a while because in my house when I grew up it was always on...
Eliza Madrigal: but it isn't compelling for me, as in "oh no I have to get to the tv" so, I don't 'restrict' anything
Eliza Madrigal: the kids don't even lounge in front of it
DR42 Resident: Mine, too, and with three older sisters I never had a chance to watch anything I wanted.
stevenaia Michinaga: I knew people who did not have TV's seems all their kids were much smarter than most

Korel Laloix: I don't even own a TV.

DR42 Resident: I have 3 TV's, all the old big tube types and they are all broken. I need help taking them to the recycle station.
