The Guardian for this meeting was Pema Pera. The comments are by Pema Pera.
Pema Pera: Hi Adoro!
adoro Rhapsody: hi pema
Pema Pera: and hi Ewan and Alfred
Ewan Bonham: hi folks!
adoro Rhapsody: hi ewan
Alfred Kelberry: *little boxy sneaks in* :)
Alfred Kelberry: oi :)
adoro Rhapsody: hi alfred
Alfred Kelberry: good to see a rare guest pema :)
Pema Pera: :-)
Pema Pera: yes, nice seeing you all again
adoro Rhapsody: yes nice
Pema Pera: Hi Druth, Lawrence, Dream
Pema Pera: wow, big turnout all of a sudden!
adoro Rhapsody: i couldnt sleep
Alfred Kelberry: um, if you'd like a zen backgraound: http://t.xalan.org:8000/zen
Ewan Bonham: The long found traveler
Alfred Kelberry: :)
druth Vlodovic: hey all
Alfred Kelberry: oi, druth :)
adoro Rhapsody: hi druth
Alfred Kelberry: lawrence and his gf :)
I mistakenly thought that Alfred's URL was to a movie.
Pema Pera: I don't think I'll be watching movies while sitting here, Alfred :)
Ewan Bonham: Hi druth..
Lawrence Vyceratops: Haha She is not here. Studying calculus, I think.
adoro Rhapsody: what you mean by long found traveler Ewan ?
Alfred Kelberry: pema, it's an audio stream. tony scott's zen meditation.
Pema Pera: ah, I'm not able to produce sound now; am in a cafe :)
Alfred Kelberry: ok :)
adoro Rhapsody: ok
adoro Rhapsody: sound of silence
Alfred Kelberry: can you describe the surrounding, pema? :)
Pema Pera: oh, a small cafe at the edge of Kyoto University's campus
Alfred Kelberry: is it modern or traditional japanese cafe?
Pema Pera: neither, in between
Pema Pera: a nice student hangout
Alfred Kelberry: neat :)
Pema Pera: could have been European almost
Alfred Kelberry: anyone speak english?
Alfred Kelberry: except you :)
Pema Pera: oh, to various degrees
adoro Rhapsody: what time is it there now ?
Pema Pera: it's 11 am, time for brunch :)
Pema Pera: that's why I came here
adoro Rhapsody: ah
I thought this might be a good point to ask about everybody's 9-sec practice.
Pema Pera: has anybody been playing with taking frequent breaks, recently, like in the 9-sec idea?
Pema Pera: or is it becoming old hat by now :-)
adoro Rhapsody: not yet
Alfred Kelberry: um, i only take 90 sec break during the session :)
Pema Pera: the 9 sec breaks are simpler, much shorter :)
Pema Pera: perhaps not everybody is familiar with the idea?
Alfred Kelberry: need practice to really "break" during this time :)
Pema Pera: to use a few hours a day, or more if you like
Pema Pera: and during that time take a 9-sec break every 15 minutes
adoro Rhapsody: the power of repetition
Pema Pera: as a 1% time tax
Alfred Kelberry: oh, taxes...
adoro Rhapsody: but where goes tax to ?
Pema Pera: and during that time you can just relax or "drop what you have to see what you are" if you like a simple suggestion
adoro Rhapsody: what is done with the tax ?
Alfred Kelberry: self, i think
Pema Pera: you have to ask the Lords of Time, I think, adoro :-)
Pema Pera: it's time tax after all
adoro Rhapsody: ah i see
druth Vlodovic: I end up just zoning out when I try it :(
adoro Rhapsody: but tax is associated with government
Pema Pera: that may be just fine, druth
Alfred Kelberry: the trick would be to remember doing it every 15 minutes. there's no session bell that reminds you :)
Pema Pera: at first at least
Ewan Bonham: druth, i think that is why a short time like 9 sec. is wise..
Dream Wrexan considers what type of government time lords would set up
adoro Rhapsody: but this is do it yourself tax ?
Pema Pera: so perhaps we have a non-governmental tax :-)
adoro Rhapsody: for your own benefit ?
Pema Pera: like a NGO
Ewan Bonham: Druth, I think that is why a short time like 9 sec. is wise..
adoro Rhapsody: tax as a selfservice ?
Dream Wrexan: ... for the good of all humanity
Pema Pera: yes, your own benefit and everybody else as well :)
druth Vlodovic: if it works you get to collect the tax, rather than give it :)
Alfred Kelberry: where did 9 sec come from? why not 10?
The answer is: to make it exactly 1% :-)
Pema Pera: there are 900 seconds in a quarter of an hour
adoro Rhapsody: 9 x 9 = 81
adoro Rhapsody: the tao chapters
Pema Pera: so it is kind of a pun
Pema Pera: hi Bruce!
Alfred Kelberry: is it something you made up?
Pema Pera: yes
Alfred Kelberry: :)
adoro Rhapsody: wow
Pema Pera: I was tired of people telling me "I don't have time to meditate"
Ewan Bonham: Hi bruce
adoro Rhapsody: hi bruce
Pema Pera: so I designed something that took no longer than the time it takes to brush your teeth
adoro Rhapsody: nice shirt
Alfred Kelberry: can you share what you feel/think during these 9 sec?
Bruce Mowbray: Hello, veryon!
Pema Pera: so anyone can tell me "I don't like doing the 9 sec"
Pema Pera: but they can't tell me "I dont' have time to do the 9 sec"
Lawrence Vyceratops: haha
Pema Pera: it clarifies the relationship :-)
adoro Rhapsody: ok
Pema Pera: oh, different each time, Alfred
Alfred Kelberry: sneaky :)
adoro Rhapsody: when u live 100% u can live i 90 % too
adoro Rhapsody: the principle of the rich man
Pema Pera: yes, and certainly when you spent "only" 99% on your usually busy life, that should be enough :)
adoro Rhapsody: sure
Pema Pera: and of course resting for 1% makes the 99% more efficient even than just 100% work
Pema Pera: but that's not the main point
adoro Rhapsody: ok
Dream Wrexan: too funny bruce - your hair rezzed for me before the rest of you
adoro Rhapsody: the benefit of pause
--BELL--
I was a bit hesitant to say too much, having already spoken quite a bit, but Lawrence's next question drew me out.
Lawrence Vyceratops: Pema, could you briefly explain for us the main point?
adoro Rhapsody: yeah
adoro Rhapsody: the essence
Alfred Kelberry: "there's no point" - bruce lee :)
Pema Pera: the simplest way is to suggest to switch from having to being
Pema Pera: we normally use "to be" for something we have
Pema Pera: in my case: "I am Dutch, and I am an astronomer"
adoro Rhapsody: so ?
Pema Pera: but really my nationality is Dutch, my profession is astronomer
Pema Pera: those are attributes that I have
Pema Pera: not what I really are
adoro Rhapsody: ok
Pema Pera: the problem is we tend to identify with our attributes
adoro Rhapsody: they are given to you
Pema Pera: hence war, etc
Pema Pera: but if we wear our identities lightly (we don't have to get rid of them)
Pema Pera: then life opens up in totally unexpected ways
Pema Pera: does that make sense?
adoro Rhapsody: thats nice
Lawrence Vyceratops: Yes, I agree.
Dream Wrexan: absolutely
Pema Pera: and it ain't so hard :)
adoro Rhapsody: a new form of identity management
Pema Pera: we just need to be reminded again
Pema Pera: yes, adoro, nice summary !
adoro Rhapsody: open identity
adoro Rhapsody: light identity
The real key I think is this:
Pema Pera: frequency is probably more important than duration
Pema Pera: naggingly reminding you to drop identities for a bit
adoro Rhapsody: wise words
Lawrence Vyceratops: Im sure that many can benefit from such a practice, but only if they fully understand the intent or the idea of it.
Pema Pera: not necessarily I think
adoro Rhapsody: of course
Pema Pera: of course understanding helps
Lawrence Vyceratops: However, it is a difficult concept for many to grasp, I fear, without proper explanation.
Pema Pera: and that's why we get together to share
adoro Rhapsody: so there must be some xegese
Pema Pera: not to lecture, but to compare notes
Pema Pera: yes, I agree Lawrence
Pema Pera: that's why we get together so many times, like in a neighborhood cafe
Ewan Bonham: For me, it is a stepping back from myself..
Pema Pera: to let things sink in :)
Ewan Bonham: and gaining perspective ..
Pema Pera: can you say more, Ewan?
adoro Rhapsody: back from or back to ?
adoro Rhapsody: your self ?
Ewan Bonham: It is a way of getting out of the intense heat of attachment to whatever I am doing..
Pema Pera: yes!
Ewan Bonham: And then reflecting on my inner being..
adoro Rhapsody: sure
adoro Rhapsody: that gives me inner peace
Ewan Bonham: that helps me to put a balance into my being...between inner and outer..
Dream Wrexan: whatever I am doing... or feeling... or thinking...
Lawrence Vyceratops: And what would be the ultimate purpose of this practice, of this looking?
There may not be an ultimate purpose, as I would express a bit later.
Dream Wrexan: remembering I am not just a body
adoro Rhapsody: and so gives better chance for outer peace
Lawrence Vyceratops: For instance, war was mentioned.
Pema Pera: hi Eliza!
Dream Wrexan: hi, Eliza
adoro Rhapsody: hi eliza
Ewan Bonham: hi Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Everyone :)
adoro Rhapsody: mona liza
Lawrence Vyceratops: Hi :)
Bruce Mowbray: welcome, Eliza.
adoro Rhapsody: u look great !
Pema Pera: yes, all of those are great, and helpful -- there is not just one goal
Dream Wrexan: love your henna, Eliza
Alfred Kelberry: pema, is it related to accepting change concept? as to not get attached to anything (including our self attributes) as everything is transient?
druth Vlodovic: lol, we sound like the brady bunch
Eliza Madrigal: :) Thanks
Eliza Madrigal: Don't let me interrupt. I may need to log off/on again...
Pema Pera: all of that is related, Al
Alfred Kelberry: oi, eliza :)
Alfred Kelberry: ok
Eliza Madrigal: oi Alfred :)
Lawrence Vyceratops: So, Pema, what would think is the ultimate goal of this practice? For instance, you mentioned war, earlier
Pema Pera: no ultimate goal . . .
Pema Pera: but yes, war . . .
adoro Rhapsody: or peace ?
Pema Pera: war is caused by overly identifying with a position
Pema Pera: we are good, they are bad
Alfred came up with a great idea, which later also triggered my choice of title for this session.
Alfred Kelberry: let's try the 9 sec break now and then share what we felt? :)
Lawrence Vyceratops: So, do you recognize a problem and this a possible end for a solution?
Pema Pera: hmmm, not just one single problem
Pema Pera: it's more like when you have a cramp from working for hours on a computer, it is good to stretch
Lawrence Vyceratops: But, generally speaking, what would you say, Pema?
Pema Pera: and this is more of a mental form of stretching to get out of the cramp of our life :-)
Pema Pera: sure, good idea, Alfred, shall we do that?
Lawrence Vyceratops: This is quite broad as I am understanding so far.
Pema Pera: so nine second, from now, and whoever likes to share, can do so afterwards
adoro Rhapsody: ok
Lawrence Vyceratops: DING!
Alfred Kelberry: hmm :)
Eliza Madrigal: :) Lawrence
Pema Pera: I looked up, listened to the music, took a deeper breath, and appreciated the beauty of my surroundings
Dream Wrexan: I found myself counting
Lawrence Vyceratops: I listened and could hear the past echoing.
adoro Rhapsody: i almost fell asleep
Dream Wrexan: 1-thousand-1, 1-thousand-2...
adoro Rhapsody: its 4:29 am here
Bruce Mowbray: I'd been think about going to bed before I came here -- but during the 'drop' realized that I am wide awake.
Ewan Bonham: Mind was blank..
Ewan Bonham: Now things feel a bit less intense..
--BELL--
adoro Rhapsody: i like the light in sl
Alfred Kelberry: i closed my eyes, tried to listen to my breath and get away from the current context, counting... then i heard typing in sl and lost my count... and then... and... it was over :)
A fascinating spectrum of observations!
Dream Wrexan: Namaste
Pema Pera: bye Dream!
adoro Rhapsody: namaste
Eliza Madrigal: Namaste Dream
Pema Pera: did anyone have any surprise?
Pema Pera: (speaking for myself, I'm always surprised:-)
Pema Pera: (at how quickly it is possible to change moods, angles)
Ewan Bonham: More of a shift..
Alfred Kelberry: always new :)
Eliza Madrigal: I love Bruce's phrase 'during the drop"...
Bruce Mowbray: I was surprised to find that my left hand was holding a wine glass.
Eliza Madrigal: ;-) Bruce
Alfred Kelberry: bruce :)
Pema Pera: :-)
Bruce Mowbray: I'd forgotten all about it.
Bruce Mowbray: seriously.
Pema Pera: in vino veritas
Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
adoro Rhapsody: symposium means drinking wine
Bruce Mowbray: Veritas liberabit vos.
Pema Pera: !!
adoro Rhapsody: or so
Bruce refered to the Time Sessions; I gave a couple URLs a bit below.
Bruce Mowbray: "Frames" are changing this week -- with the new homework for Time Magic.
adoro Rhapsody: so suppose u r in a symposium
Pema Pera: yes, Bruce?
Bruce Mowbray: Frames are disappearing -
Pema Pera: yes, this is a kind of symposium, adoro :-)
adoro Rhapsody: sure
Bruce Mowbray: experiences similar with the wine glass.
Pema Pera: does anything take their place?
Bruce Mowbray: hard to explain. but a significant shift.
adoro Rhapsody: no frames ?
Bruce Mowbray: hmmmm.
adoro Rhapsody: no structure ?
Alfred Kelberry: um, frames?
adoro Rhapsody: no frontiers ?
Bruce Mowbray: I am appreciating the experience as Time - rather than a stuff in space.
Pema Pera: hard to explain is a good sign of a significant shift -- away from standard boxes that hold memories that are easy to explain :-)
Bruce Mowbray: a significant shift with that -- and similar to what happened during our little break earlier.
adoro Rhapsody: a time shift ?
Eliza Madrigal: A shift underneath shows up everywhere else...
Bruce Mowbray: No -- not a shirt in time -- more like a shift FROM stuff in space (my hand) to just presence in Time.
adoro Rhapsody: like an earthquake ?
Bruce Mowbray: sorry -- cannot quite say what I mean.
Pema Pera: your'e doing quite well, Bruce!
Alfred Kelberry: i think bruce had too much wine :)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
adoro Rhapsody: comfortably numb ?
Alfred Kelberry: it shifted him a bit :)
adoro Rhapsody: bruce ?
Bruce Mowbray: No -- I totally forgot about drinking the wine -- that is my point.
Bruce Mowbray: I didn't realize I was holding the wine until the shift.
Pema Pera: :-)
adoro Rhapsody: so you can last longer
Alfred Kelberry: go on, drink it already, bruce :)
Bruce Mowbray: yes, I can last as long as it takes.
Pema Pera is getting a bit thirsty now . . .
Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
adoro Rhapsody: i have to pee
Bruce Mowbray: Tell it like it is, adoro!
Eliza Madrigal: Bruce, you've been considering the time homework? I've read the chapter only once so far... is there more you have to share about it?
Bruce Mowbray: I have read the chapter three times.
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, then you're ready to begin, heh
Pema Pera: (they are refering to http://wiki.playasbeing.org/PaB_Books/Magic_of_Time)
adoro Rhapsody: that lightens up
Eliza Madrigal: I just keep going over the title...
The title was "Presence as Time"
Bruce Mowbray: I have been doing the homework for two days - at least.
Eliza Madrigal listens intently
adoro Rhapsody: just a little pee break
Alfred Kelberry: pema, so 9 sec is generally a way to switch context, right? not necessaraly in a za-zen way (which would be not possible anyway, i guess)
Bruce Mowbray: Very similar to last week's except for this shift that I have been trying to explain here tonight.
Eliza Madrigal: TMI Adoro but thanks
Bruce Mowbray: wb adoro.
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Pema Pera: in any way you like, Alfred
Alfred Kelberry: i knew it :)
Pema Pera: great, Bruce, please keep trying
Pema Pera: I find that while trying to talk or write, things clarify further
Bruce Mowbray: ;-) thank you, Pema.'
Pema Pera: that's why we're here :-)
adoro Rhapsody: sure
Bruce Mowbray: How about you, Eliza?
Eliza Madrigal: Dwelling with the title as I said... a sense of dynamic... of sharpness as though I could almost measure but it wouldn't make sense...
Bruce Mowbray: yes. . . I think it might make sense to persons who had done the actualy homework.
Pema Pera: (they are refering to chapter 5, http://wiki.playasbeing.org/PaB_Books/Magic_of_Time/5._Presence_as_Time)
Eliza Madrigal: Meaning, when factoring in to 'see' time... it is like seeing something, yes, frame... draw lines somehow...
Alfred Kelberry: um, pema... may i ask, how is life considered suffering in buddhism? is it about attachments that we suffer from?
This question connected with over-identification, but since there were other threads going on already, I found it difficult to swap Alfred's question in as well; something for a later time!
Pema Pera: yes, that sounds/feels very familiar, Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: but as I said I've only read the chapter once... I try to feel and get a sense of presence... walk into the exploration
Pema Pera: presence is very very hard to put into words . . . .
Eliza Madrigal: :) am lagging... following Bruce's white flag around the corner perhaps
Bruce Mowbray: Thank you, Eliza -- I didn't mean to put you on the spot, there.
Pema Pera: but you can learn to appreciate the sense of presence
Eliza Madrigal: Not at all :) Helps to try to articulte
Pema Pera: (sorry Alfred, other topic now)
Eliza Madrigal: *articulate
Alfred Kelberry: ok
Pema Pera: presence is everywhere, like water for a fish
Bruce Mowbray: The very first time I let the presence of appearance BE TIME -- that's when the frames shifted.
Pema Pera: but we very rarily talk about it, and hence we tend to overlook . . .
Bruce Mowbray: they did not disappear altogether.
Pema Pera: great, Bruce!!
Eliza Madrigal: interesting...
Pema Pera: hehehe, "can you say more?" :-)
Pema Pera: (@ Bruce)
Bruce Mowbray: they shifted in a way that seemed to include larger space and time and . . . . (?) larger experience, somehow.
--BELL--
adoro Rhapsody: i am t(i'm)e
Bruce Mowbray thinks he will sit on hands for a while.
Ewan Bonham: For me, perception is not appearance...rather it is perspective..:)
Pema Pera: (without the wine glass I hope)
adoro Rhapsody: father augustinus already said you are time
Eliza Madrigal: You know it overlaps a bit with the original software session for me (maybe because I have compartments spilling over) in thinking of 'containers' and 'containment...
Pema Pera: yes, Augustinus had the right anlge in
Pema Pera: yes, presence is a great solvent for compartmentalization :-)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
adoro Rhapsody: hi steven
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Steve :)
stevenaia Michinaga: hi
Pema Pera: Hi Steve!
stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Bruce Mowbray: hello, steve.
Alas, time for me to go, so I won't comment on the remainder of the log.
Pema Pera: ala, I have to get going a bit earlier than usually
stevenaia Michinaga: arrived for the finally
Pema Pera: have a working lunch coming up
Eliza Madrigal: haha Steve
stevenaia Michinaga: (or the departures)
Pema Pera: hello and goodbye Steve :-)
Bruce Mowbray: OK, Pema. THANK you so much.
Eliza Madrigal: you say goodbye...
stevenaia Michinaga: gtsy Pema
Ewan Bonham: bye, Pema..
Pema Pera: thank you all for such an interesting discussion
adoro Rhapsody: bye pema thnx
Eliza Madrigal: Thanks Pema, Night
Ewan Bonham: and thanks for th reminders
Eliza Madrigal: (Or Day) :)
adoro Rhapsody: have a good lunch
Pema Pera: I'm mostly reminding myself . . . still learning so much each day
adoro Rhapsody: Boo!
Pema Pera: bye for now!
adoro Rhapsody: Hey!
Bruce Mowbray thinks he will change his seat so he can see folks easier in the viewer.
Bruce Mowbray: (a different "appearance") ha ha.
Eliza Madrigal: I was pulling together a little scribe today and kind of giggled that many of us have been 'forced' to change our view-er-s
Alfred Kelberry: you can use camera :)
adoro Rhapsody: onother perspective
Eliza Madrigal: this happens :)
Ewan Bonham: LOL
Alfred Kelberry: forced, eliza?
stevenaia Michinaga: I thought emerald viewers were forbiden
Eliza Madrigal: Well, given ultimatums by SL
Alfred Kelberry: oh, what is it?
adoro Rhapsody: ultimatums in time ?
Eliza Madrigal: Well, I would have been happy to stay with viewer 1 for instance...
Lawrence Vyceratops: I would've loaded LL's viewer, but it was in German.
Alfred Kelberry: no more 3rd party viewers?
Lawrence Vyceratops: I'm using Emerald.
Eliza Madrigal: however SL decided that it was time to evolve, whether that meant improvement or not....
Alfred Kelberry: ah, i see
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, not a good idea Lawrence
adoro Rhapsody: oh
Lawrence Vyceratops: Well, it was either that or try to guess German words.
Eliza Madrigal: I've downloaded Phoenix but not on this computer... Here I am viewer 2
stevenaia Michinaga: eerytime I change viewers, my avatar changes
Alfred Kelberry: eliza, let go of your emerald attachment :)
Ewan Bonham: There are several alternatives..
Lawrence Vyceratops: Very hard to navigate SL in German if you speak only English.
stevenaia Michinaga: many forms of steve
Eliza Madrigal: haha, Alfred :)
Alfred Kelberry: open yourself to new experience :)
Eliza Madrigal: yes, maybe I'm too set in my ways Alfred
Bruce Mowbray: agrees with Al.
Alfred Kelberry: isn't it what we talk about here? :)
adoro Rhapsody: eine neue erfahrung
Eliza Madrigal: even though I had emerald for a mere one week...
Eliza Madrigal: :)
adoro Rhapsody: ganz neu
Alfred Kelberry: my reaction on the new vewier 2.0 was the same when it came out. but then i changed my posture and embraced teh change - now i'm happy with it :)
Eliza Madrigal: Well, we can change views of time at least
Ewan Bonham: Others are similar to emerald and are approved
Bruce Mowbray smiles at Eliza....!
Eliza Madrigal: :)
adoro Rhapsody: the difficulty of keeping up with chages
adoro Rhapsody: changes
adoro Rhapsody: that u didnt initiate
Bruce Mowbray: I am also quite happy with V2 --
Eliza Madrigal: maybe the more natural way is to be in step with the changes...
adoro Rhapsody: sure
Lawrence Vyceratops: I have to go, guys. Hope you all have a fruitful conversation!
Eliza Madrigal: already and let ourselves accept that...
adoro Rhapsody: to synchonize with changes
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Lawrence, nice to see you again
Ewan Bonham: or maybe the whole concept of change..
adoro Rhapsody: bye law
Alfred Kelberry: maybe it's all just presence, eliza :)
stevenaia Michinaga: I am happy with my new avitar I will stay with Phoenix
stevenaia Michinaga: :)
adoro Rhapsody: Hey!
Lawrence Vyceratops: Thanks. I'll be back ;)
Eliza Madrigal: you are pretty cute, Steve
Lawrence Vyceratops: Hope to see you all in the future!
Eliza Madrigal smiles widely at Alfred :)
Bruce Mowbray: Be well, Lawrence.
stevenaia Michinaga: smiles, you too
adoro Rhapsody: me too
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Are you dancing Alfred? hehe
adoro Rhapsody: cozy alfred
Alfred Kelberry: no, just getting closer :)
Eliza Madrigal: In Ireland I'm told they say "Are ya dancing?" And the correct response is "Are you asking?"
Alfred Kelberry: :)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Alfred Kelberry: i'll remember that :)
adoro Rhapsody: sounds great
Alfred Kelberry: *watches eliza typing*
Eliza Madrigal: I should go.... I'd not intended to come to a session tonight... was looking at the puzzle pictures getting ideas...
Eliza Madrigal: but you all are so tempting :)
Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Alfred Kelberry: :)
adoro Rhapsody: thnx
Alfred Kelberry: thank you for coming
adoro Rhapsody: u r welcome
Eliza Madrigal: Have a nice night. See you soon
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, me too, the wine has SOMEHOW disappeared. . . and I must be to bed.
adoro Rhapsody: sleep tight bruce
Eliza Madrigal: :) Sweet dreams Bruce
Eliza Madrigal: And all
Eliza Madrigal: Namaste
Alfred Kelberry: ok, night, bruce :)
Bruce Mowbray: Thank you, everyone. This has been good.
Ewan Bonham: Good night as well...thanks for the chat..:)
--BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: night al
Alfred Kelberry: i'm still here :)
adoro Rhapsody: its getting day here
adoro Rhapsody: in rl
Alfred Kelberry: i'd like to ask stev... how is life considered suffering in buddhism? i feel uneasy about it, cause i find it quite joyful (mostly)
adoro Rhapsody: si i can shower and take or make breakfast
adoro Rhapsody: so
stevenaia Michinaga: I can;t say I know as I am not a buddist
Alfred Kelberry: oh, ok
adoro Rhapsody: bya all
adoro Rhapsody: have a good day or night
Alfred Kelberry: mzzl, adoro
stevenaia Michinaga: but I know buddists who are angry, which I can;t quite understand
adoro Rhapsody: thnx
stevenaia Michinaga: night adoro
Alfred Kelberry: stev, it's politics :)
stevenaia Michinaga: lol
Alfred Kelberry: it makes peopel angry, or how pema says identity grows onto them :)
stevenaia Michinaga: politics?
Alfred Kelberry: yes, when powers come into play
Alfred Kelberry: important decision making
stevenaia Michinaga: Yes, my wife yells at the tv often this time of year
Alfred Kelberry: :)
Alfred Kelberry: i like euronews. it's just data, no passion or emotions.
stevenaia Michinaga: I usually don;t get that upset over such things
stevenaia Michinaga: the brits are very good interviewers
Alfred Kelberry: american tv is all about emotions :)
Alfred Kelberry: opinions!
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, fuzzy animals
Alfred Kelberry: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: it can be pointless, and very little depth
stevenaia Michinaga: and devisive , jsut to be so
Alfred Kelberry: *sighs*
stevenaia Michinaga: makes passionless news of facts refreshing
stevenaia Michinaga: you are German, Alfred?
Alfred Kelberry: no, although i have german ties :)
stevenaia Michinaga: nods where do you live?
Alfred Kelberry: moscow
stevenaia Michinaga: don;t know why that was an unexpected answer for em
stevenaia Michinaga: me
Alfred Kelberry: ok, here's another: berlin :)
stevenaia Michinaga: perhaps I was expecting more of an accent
Alfred Kelberry: people like to assume
Alfred Kelberry: often times they assume wrong and get into trouble :)
stevenaia Michinaga: we can close the log if you would like
Alfred Kelberry: if you like. the session is over anyway :)
