DR42 Resident: OK, a bit tired.
DR42 Resident: You?
Xirana Oximoxi: I'm quite fine....I've had a very busy week with a lot of travelling up and down...so now it's good to sit and relax for a while
DR42 Resident: I learned to hate travel for work. Something about never being home and having no friends.
Xirana Oximoxi: ah yes...that's not fun at all and really stressing, always eating out in restaurants too...
Xirana Oximoxi: I've been 'up and down' taking parents to doctors and so on...not the same but not fun either
DR42 Resident: In one year, I collected key cards, only one from each hotel, and at the end of the year, I had over 200.
Xirana Oximoxi: wow....that's a big amount
Xirana Oximoxi: for you being at home must be the best holidays
DR42 Resident: Yea, I spent 6 out of 7 nights in different hotels, mostly.
Xirana Oximoxi: absolutly tiring
DR42 Resident: You wake up in a hotel room, call the desk and ask if it is Tuesday, they say yes, and you say :ah, this must be St. louis:.
Xirana Oximoxi: lol..it has made me laugh but it's not fun, I know :-)

DR42 Resident: It was very draining. People would say something about how nice it was to travel so much, not understanding that Hotels, airports and conference rooms are just the same everywhere.
Xirana Oximoxi: yes...somehow one thinks you travel and have time to visit the places...and that's not it
Xirana Oximoxi: also....usually travelling for work you go alone...and even if you have time sometimes you're not in the mood to go out
DR42 Resident: No, never. it's just too much work, and you have so many details to take care of. You never get to relax when traveling for some sort of busines, be it work or even family.
DR42 Resident: For work, after a full day of meetings, you have to spend the night getting ready for the next day.

Xirana Oximoxi: do you still have to do so much travelling or you're more relaxed actually?
DR42 Resident: And doctors offices are just like conference rooms. They are no fun and they all look the same.
Xirana Oximoxi: yes, and here they give you a date and then you must wait more than one hour too
DR42 Resident: retired, actually. I don't go many places at all.

Xirana Oximoxi: did you also have to travell for work, San?

Xirana Oximoxi: Doctor's are very helpful and we need them, but with my parents they all end telling me they are too old....meaning, no solution
Xirana Oximoxi: anyway...they are nearly perfect.... they have been very active all their life

 Xirana Oximoxi: I am fighting with our heath insurance here too..I pay as a professional artist, but..as they see I am not selling at all after two or three years...they don't consider I am doing the activity.... enfin...
DR42 Resident: It is difficult to be self employed in a single person business.
Xirana Oximoxi: we had a very good health care system in Catalonia (Spain)...but lately things are getting worse due to the economical crisis...no money to keep it going

Xirana Oximoxi: yes...but all artists don't have a regular salary.... except some that are more famous, of course.. :-)
DR42 Resident: Or someone who works for a commercial art shop.

Eliza Madrigal: in general, not really... I'm sort of ordinary... have a style, generally lots of black and white

Eliza Madrigal: but lately I gained a bit of weight and am trying to dress a new body
Xirana Oximoxi: in RL I am not at all...in SL I find it fun to try clothes :-)
Eliza Madrigal: maybe it has to do with resources... not just funds but also time

DR42 Resident: I have way more clothes in RL. Maybe 3 or 4 hundred skirts.

DR42 Resident: And that was after getting rid of half of them.

DR42 Resident: No, I lost a large amount of weight, and none of them fit any more.
Eliza Madrigal: I realized that I sort of have style icons... like, when I was small it was Audrey Hepburn

DR42 Resident: Mostly Jeans and shirts for me. Not going to get clothes until I stop losing weight.
Eliza Madrigal: intending to lose weight or due to life changes?
DR42 Resident: Yes. (Both) I have lost about 45 Kg in the last 2 years.

DR42 Resident: Yes, I do, but very little of my clothes fit. Many nice dresses and gowns. I want to drop another 3 or 4 sizes and make my tailor rich!

Eliza Madrigal: haha... last night was talking with a friend about how hard it is to find a great tailor... her daughter began working in a tux shop
DR42 Resident: I have found 3, but the best is 100 miles away.
Xirana Oximoxi: I know one of the difficulties when losing weight is to keep it after the diet...but I am sure you're doing well...you've said you did it after 2 years..so it's not like people trying it one month

Eliza Madrigal: that's being "longsuffering" rather than impulsive
Eliza Madrigal: impulsive always has a blowback
Xirana Oximoxi: if you feel better it must be rewarding too

Eliza Madrigal: I don't need to lose that much weight and don't really want to... but have some areas to address
Xirana Oximoxi: I am quite impulsive....learning to control myself with age :-)
DR42 Resident: Oh, if you count all the diets over the years, I have lost maybe 150 Kg. And gained it back.
Eliza Madrigal: :) aging is good for some things
Xirana Oximoxi: yes...for some things :-)
Eliza Madrigal: btw Marjorie I saw that you got to go to one of my favorite plays - wicked!
DR42 Resident: Yes, it was great. A friend bought me the ticket.
DR42 Resident: I had not been to a play in quite some time and was shocked by the ticket price. I don't think I would have bought the ticket for myself.

Eliza Madrigal: it is pretty outrageous unless you buy last minute

Eliza Madrigal: I saw it with my daughters but then had to take the kids again to take my son a few years later

DR42 Resident: Yes, like the TV show here, "Wicked tuna"

Eliza Madrigal: oh :) she was the only one familiar with that play before you.. am surprised no one has seen it, or so few
DR42 Resident: And you know why my nickname is "Maude"
DR42 Resident: Well, the ticket was $160 US each.

Eliza Madrigal: there was a small opera company called the people's opera that just closed in NY
Eliza Madrigal: kinda sad

Eliza Madrigal: there is small theater about, but sometimes it is nice to save for an event or something... I tend to buy event tickets around the holidays... better than having clutter
Eliza Madrigal: I don't attend enough live music though
Xirana Oximoxi: me either...but I like it very much :-)
Xirana Oximoxi: I go to sl live music now :-)
Eliza Madrigal: true, there are some nice events here... haven't been able to go recently
DR42 Resident: There is a small cafe that has music on thursday and friday nights and a tea shop that has music but only once a month.

DR42 Resident: So much for living out in the wilderness.
Eliza Madrigal: she's become quite a powerhouse of entertainment in SL now

DR42 Resident: Yes. The town I live in does not have traffic lights and still has many dirt roads.

Eliza Madrigal: it is hard to find dark places in my neighborhood but last night I walked with friends in the dark to feed horses... was so neat feeling
