    Wol Euler: buongiorno, qt
    Wol Euler: sorry I'm late
Qt Core: buongiorno wol! np, just landed
    Wol Euler smiles.
    Wol Euler: how's life?
    Qt Core: hellish week
Qt Core: wanted to strangle or worse many people
    Wol Euler: oh dear
    Wol Euler: what's up?
Qt Core: got a nice saturday morning (due to the gym, how weird to say it) then in the afternoon my sister went ill
Qt Core: it seems the new national sport is telling me i don't know how to do everything id do or don't do.
    Wol Euler: ha

    Qt Core: your week ?
Wol Euler: busy, we have a competition due at noon on Thursday, so it's a working weekend
Wol Euler: other than that, fine.

Wol Euler: It was 31°C here on Friday!
Wol Euler: in the first week of April!
    Wol Euler: crazy weather
    Qt Core: !
Qt Core: we got to 22, 24 at most
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: even that would be high for us usually, in many years there has still/again been snow in April here
Qt Core: when you say cpmpetition yu refer to submitting a project to a public institution so they choose from severa proposal to build something ?

    --BELL--

Qt Core: we got some snow in the past week, but in the mountains, 150/200 km from here
Wol Euler: yes, it's a design competition for to rebuild and extend an outdoor swimming pool/sports area
Wol Euler: anything built with public money has to be run through an anonymous competition, like this
Wol Euler: to avoid the risk of nepotism
Wol Euler: (though there are ways around it ...)
    Qt Core: same here ;-)
Qt Core: look at this: it is the library in my own town: http://www.bauwelt.de/cms/bauwerk.ht...e#.U0EOgHCMnWj
Qt Core: in that school my father studied in the early '30
    Wol Euler: ah :)
Wol Euler: yes, that's how most offices get their first break
Wol Euler: though it usually doesn't take ten years!

Qt Core: i've only been in the auditorium for a couple talk of my amateur astronomer club, but it seem nice, very bright
Qt Core: and they are traying to use it a lot, many activities
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: it looks very nice, very well made
Wol Euler: and comfortable despite the "abstraction"
Qt Core: i went often to the previous location of the public library, when i was about 1 or 2 year old :-)
    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: do you remember it at all?
Qt Core: i remember a book about an apple and a worm eating it
Qt Core: and i was always warmly greeted, bot inside and outside the library by the strict librarian
    Wol Euler smiles.

    --BELL--

Qt Core: at the time my mother was studying some librarian techniques to sort the libraries of the public schools (that is why now my home books are catalogued and sorted)

Wol Euler: wow, hello Hana, I haven't seen you here in ages!
Hana Furlough: Hi Wol and QT!
Hana Furlough: Yeah, it's been awhile
    Qt Core: Hi Hana!
    Hana Furlough: how are you?
Wol Euler: busy, very; but otherwise fine
    Wol Euler: and you?
    Hana Furlough: pretty busy, too
Qt Core: hoping for quieter time, if not better ;-)

Hana Furlough: what are those things above the fountain?
Wol Euler: balloons for PaB's sixth birthday party last weekend
    Hana Furlough: oh cool!
Wol Euler: that's the official t-shirt
Wol Euler: qt, do you have/want one?
    Hana Furlough: yes please!
Wol Euler: (I just gave it to you :)
Qt Core: bruce gave me one yesterday
    Wol Euler: okay
Hana Furlough: (ah ! i see! thanks!!)
Hana Furlough: how do i look??
    Wol Euler: sixy :)
    Wol Euler: heheh
    Hana Furlough: haha!
    Qt Core: looks good
    Hana Furlough: thanks!

Qt Core: <evil thought="">we are ready to the ninth b'day too</evil>
    Wol Euler: indeed
Wol Euler: just need a little editing, and some patience
Qt Core: as most i have some issue with patience ;-)
    Wol Euler smiles.

Wol Euler: so, Hana, how are the cherry blossoms this year?
Wol Euler: and: do you have the time to enjoy them?
    Hana Furlough: they're amazing!
Hana Furlough: yeah, i managed to make it back to japan before they scattered
Hana Furlough: i went out yesterday and today to see them
    Hana Furlough: really really nice

Hana Furlough: but i'm afraid there are heavy winds right now, so this is probably the end for the blossoms in kyoto
Hana Furlough: although, more are still to bloom at higher elevations
    Wol Euler nods.
    Wol Euler: sounds great

    Wol Euler: how's work going?
Qt Core: i sometimes read a blog of someone living in Okinawa where the blossom season starts in late january/ early february,
Hana Furlough: work is going well, too, thanks

    --BELL--

Hana Furlough: yeah, okinawa is very early
Hana Furlough: san francisco was like that, too
Hana Furlough: everything suddenly bloomed in early februrary
Hana Furlough: how about your respective countries?
Wol Euler: it was 31°C on Friday here.
Wol Euler: ridiculously hot for April
    Hana Furlough: wow
    Hana Furlough: that's like summer
    Wol Euler nods.
Qt Core: blossoms all around even here, low 20s here a little higher than usual but not as ridiculous :-)
Hana Furlough: where are you at again, qt?
    Qt Core: Milan, Italy
    Hana Furlough: oh nice

Wol Euler: I'm worrying a little about the harvest this year. We didn't have a winter in Europe, so there was no snow, so there's no ground water. And it hasn't rained in ages. Plus the warm winter means that the bugs and parasites that usually freeze and die, didn't. I fear that we will have a very poor harvest in Europe this year
Hana Furlough: oh no... that sounds really bad.
Qt Core: no snow but a lot of rain this side of the Alps
Qt Core: and warmer days too
Qt Core: we already saw fly and moscquitoes, yes

Wol Euler: well, I'm neither a farmer nor a meteorologist, but I know enough about both to see that this is going to be an unusual year

Wol Euler: I killed the first mosquito of 2014 back in March!
    Hana Furlough: oh no...
    Hana Furlough: too early
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Wol Euler: anyway, nothing that any of us can do about it, whether I am right or wrong
Wol Euler: except perhaps consider investing in commodity futures :)
    Hana Furlough: right
Hana Furlough: hopefully it won't be too bad

Qt Core: this week i've heard about retail pork meat prices in the US, they raised 40% as they are playing with the futures in the stock market
Qt Core: (and that even considering that 1 billion of muslim don't eat it it is the first meat as of the quantity cnsumed in the world)
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: I realize that the expression in my mind for that is "theft"
Wol Euler: but I'm not sure how the money is being stolen
Wol Euler: or why it should apply
Qt Core: (compulsory citation of the Trading places movie ;-) )

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: well, my dears, I have to start getting ready for work
Wol Euler: but please continue the conversation
Wol Euler: Hana, it was lovely to have you back!
Wol Euler: bye for now, take care
Hana Furlough: great to see you both, too!
Hana Furlough: i should get going as well
Qt Core: bye, have fun Wol
Hana Furlough: have a good day, qt!
    Qt Core: you too Hana!
    Qt Core: bye
