"Musings, Museum, Mesh and Miscellany": say that three times really fast without it become "mess". Two Adamses and Xirana discuss the museum, exhibits, PaB, prims and mesh, sometimes all at the same time but not fast. :)

Xirana Oximoxi: yes..I understand...but maybe not being so attached can be like fresh air

Xirana Oximoxi: I did not know either...I found them when looking for who had won Nobel Peace Prices
Xirana Oximoxi: and there are a lot more
Adams Dubrovna: there is lots of time to see what is going to happen. In the meantime I am very grateful to Pema, Maxine and others for all the support for the museum
Adams Dubrovna: and the workshop too
Adams Dubrovna: it has been a wonderful experience
Xirana Oximoxi: oh yes...I think they have been really generous to all of us

Xirana Oximoxi: I did not know they had to pay so much money...I see why a lot of sims have to close..it is not cheap
Xirana Oximoxi: but renting is not so expensive...depending of how many prims you need
Adams Dubrovna: yes, the Second Life model always has meant that the content providers pay and those viewing the content can go for free if they want
Adams Dubrovna: The workshop would not require many prims
Adams Dubrovna: an individual exhibit wouldn't either
Xirana Oximoxi: yes..I usually need very few prims to prepare an exhibit
Adams Dubrovna: my cost is uploading all those textures :)
Xirana Oximoxi: but yours are more comple..with slideshows and more information
Adams Dubrovna: the slideshow we are using now is only about 3 prims
Adams Dubrovna: can hold many textures of info
Xirana Oximoxi: but you must upload now too
Adams Dubrovna: the original slideshow was 27 prims
Xirana Oximoxi: wow...it has improved a lot then
Adams Dubrovna: yes many things have
Xirana Oximoxi: have you the reference of this slideshow of 3 prims?
Xirana Oximoxi: I mean.. where you bought it :)
Adams Rubble: same thing with plant life. I have replaced many high prim plants and trees for low prim versions

Adams Dubrovna: I do go through the museum maybe once a week and set all the shows back to the start slide :)
Xirana Oximoxi: I can look for it at the market place too

Xirana Oximoxi: do you know how many visitors come to visit?
Xirana Oximoxi: it's a lot of work to keep it all in order:)
Adams Dubrovna: there is a small but steady stream of a few visitors a day
Xirana Oximoxi: that's wonderful!
Adams Dubrovna: I can tell they are looking at the shows because they are left at the wrong slide :)
Adams Dubrovna: which is good information to have
Adams Dubrovna: but I no longer recognize the name of most of the avatars
Xirana Oximoxi: hehe yes:) I am sure I also did :)
Adams Rubble: sometimes I reset the slides for him too
Xirana Oximoxi: I don't recognise the names of a lot of pabbers since they have new avatars:) ..but I guess that if I come more oft I can discoverd who is who :)

New Avatars as Visitors

Adams Dubrovna: Many or some of the visitors may be new avatars coming from the newbie site
Xirana Oximoxi: which newbie site?
Adams Dubrovna: but I often see people spending time looking at the exhibits
Adams Dubrovna: we are right next store to a big orientation site that takes up four sims
Xirana Oximoxi: yes...it is interesting ...it takes time to visit it all
Adams Dubrovna: south of here--you can see it on the map
Adams Dubrovna: That is why the pavilion is here
Xirana Oximoxi: ahh yes that can be if it is so near:)
Adams Dubrovna: it was intended that new avatars would come and that is how PaB got new visitors on a regular basis for a while

Roads and Traveling

Xirana Oximoxi: when I've had my SL Studio near a road I've noticed more people visiting too...people like to move around, not only using tp
Adams Rubble: for a long time, the main guardian duty was handing out notecards to the new visitors*
Xirana Oximoxi: yes
Adams Dubrovna: interesting about the road
Adams Dubrovna: catching the avatars out for an adventure :)
Adams Dubrovna: or an evening walk
Xirana Oximoxi: yes... I did once...I came from there to Pab sims riding a horse :))
Xirana Oximoxi: came
Adams Rubble: yes, fun to do that
Adams Rubble: bicycles are fun too
Xirana Oximoxi: but usually I tp:)
Adams Rubble: I am not a good driver of cars though; I usually end up in the sea
Adams Rubble: yes, I usually tp now too :)
Xirana Oximoxi: yes...me too:)) I've tried some motocycles
Xirana Oximoxi: in the roads there is a SL service to travel around too
Adams Rubble: there are too many places that have barbed wire fences and I get caught in them
Xirana Oximoxi: but it goes very slow :))
Adams Rubble: ohh, I did not know about the service
Adams Rubble: Is Storm's balloon still in service?
Xirana Oximoxi: I don't know...probably yes...we are very well comunicated here..also with train service :)

Amenities

Adams Rubble: We really have been provided with wonderful amenities in the PaB village

Adams Dubrovna: it is a lovely building to set up exhibits

Xirana Oximoxi: yes..very good idea..it is a way we all know about it and how to reorganise :)

Adams Dubrovna: The museum would not be what it is were it not connected to PaB
Adams Dubrovna: PaB inadvertantly set the boundaries
Xirana Oximoxi: yes..and in my view it would not be very difficult to reorganise in a cheaper way
Adams Dubrovna: or maybe not so inadvertantly :)

Adams Dubrovna: The museum itself has many prims
Xirana Oximoxi: it gives a speacil personality to the sim
Adams Dubrovna: but it is always is good to challenge oneself to do something differently

Adams Dubrovna: I hope it does not cost more money
Xirana Oximoxi: I have no idea...I've heard something about it, but I am not informed
Adams Dubrovna: I don't know if they have released anything yet but maybe I am just uninformed :)

Iventories and Mesh Problems

Xirana Oximoxi: hehe mine is a chaos...but I like a lot of things I have, specially non mesh dresses
Adams Rubble: yes, one can not get them any more
Xirana Oximoxi: I still don't know how this mesh dresses work... a friend has told me I must sdjust my avatar to the dress...which I fins really stupid and crazy
Adams Rubble: yes, my thoughts exactly
Adams Rubble: the mesh is great for plants though
Xirana Oximoxi: if I don't I usually have a dress of two sizes my breasts :)9
