Eliza Madrigal: :) So how did everyone do with the homework?
    Agatha Macbeth: Homework?
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): umm, the dog ate mine
Agatha Macbeth: The cat ate mine
    Agatha Macbeth: Snap-ish
Riddle Sideways: no!   mean the dawg ate it
Zen (Zen Arado): I did it
    Agatha Macbeth: Dang!
Tura Brezoianu: Not much dreaming to work with
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): I sort of did it
Eliza Madrigal: Zen is student of the week
Zen (Zen Arado): was dog in mine
    Agatha Macbeth: Yay
Eliza Madrigal: I sort of did it too
Eliza Madrigal: wanted to do more
Zen (Zen Arado): it isn't that good

Agatha Macbeth: I can't remember what we were supposed to do
    Zen (Zen Arado): struggled
    Eliza Madrigal: Say more, Zen?
Zen (Zen Arado): associations with a dream
    Agatha Macbeth listens
Zen (Zen Arado): want me to post it?
    Agatha Macbeth: Please do
Eliza Madrigal: Or I can post a link
Eliza Madrigal: to last session, if you prefer
Zen (Zen Arado): can't find it
    Eliza Madrigal: https://wiki.playasbeing.org/Chat_Logs/2018/10/2018.10.16_12:00_-_Dream_Session:_Phenomenal_Healing_Puzzles
    Agatha Macbeth looks
Zen (Zen Arado): I added it to a dream from a while ago
Eliza Madrigal: I understood it to be not just a recent dream image, but any dream image that comes up often, and then you work with that...drawing out associations, etc.
Zen (Zen Arado): anyone else while I search?
Eliza Madrigal: no need to search Zen, since it is on the wiki
Eliza Madrigal: unless you mean for your dream?
Zen (Zen Arado): no my dream
    Eliza Madrigal: oh, okay

Zen (Zen Arado): it was saame night I was talking to Deadmau5
Zen (Zen Arado): in a dream
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Alma, how did it go for you?

Zen (Zen Arado): I started the dream riding a bicycle with my dog trotting along beside me (which I would never do in real life.) Then the bicycle disappeared and I was walking him in a huge open space like St Mark's Square in Rome. Then we started walking through narrow alleyways with brightly coloured graffiti on each side and stopping to talk to people. I never made it home again because I woke up.

Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): I thought about it while I was out on a walk, with respect to a particular dream image (a monster), but didn't get around to writing anything down

Eliza Madrigal: musing is helpful :)
    Eliza Madrigal reads
Agatha Macbeth likes a good muse
Zen (Zen Arado): want to comment on dream first?
Zen (Zen Arado): dog walking is very recurrent dream for me
    Agatha Macbeth: Interesting
Eliza Madrigal: it changes settings, but not in an abrupt sort of way, nice
Zen (Zen Arado): my life has narrowed?
    Zen (Zen Arado): certainly has
Eliza Madrigal: Is that what you felt? Then it also got brighter and more social?
Zen (Zen Arado): not really but the small corridor was bright
Zen (Zen Arado): so mynarrowlife not all bad?

Riddle Sideways: Zen, did you get into what dog aspects get your attention
Zen (Zen Arado): I'll do my association now?
    Eliza Madrigal: ok
    Riddle Sideways: oh sorry
Eliza Madrigal: we're always winging it ^.^

Zen (Zen Arado): Association: My dog who died 15 years ago comes up a lot in my dreams. I guess I still feel an attachment to him because he lived with me for so long – since he was a little pup. There could be an attachment with my mother because she was alive for two years when we first got him. One of the main things I remember is just how much loyalty he gave me. I have had disloyal friends in my life. In my dreams he is usually trotting alongside me quite happily. It takes so little to make dogs happy. Initially I was able to walk him using a crutch but I could only walk him slowly and there was a danger that he could pull me off my feet if he saw another male dog. Humans are so complex with all our worries and thoughts of how things should be. Dogs really do live in the present moment and never hold any grudges or this remember bad things from the past. I think some people use dogs or cats to fill the need for human companionship in their lines and I don't think that is healthy. With dogs especially, you can control
Zen (Zen Arado): them – something you can’t do with humans. Maybe I try to control situations too much? I guess we all try to control life, and usually fail. The only other dog I had was a little fox terrier that my mother got for me for passing the 11+ exam. I don't think I treated him as well as I should have, because I didn't walk him very often. I still feel guilty about that. I don't even remember what happened to him. I think I went to Australia before he died.

    Agatha Macbeth: Wing dings
    Agatha Macbeth: Awww
    Agatha Macbeth: Poor doggy
Zen (Zen Arado): just what associations came up for me
Eliza Madrigal: A lot tumbled out really
Zen (Zen Arado): is that how it should be done?
Eliza Madrigal: I think so, with room to do it other ways too
Eliza Madrigal: I was trying to draw, and Alma was musing while walking

Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): the association with loyalty seems significant
    Eliza Madrigal: agree
Zen (Zen Arado): later he goes into approaching dreams less rationally
Eliza Madrigal: loyalty and being present
Zen (Zen Arado): this was too rational I think
Eliza Madrigal: I rather like it. Sometimes when we have just the dream, it needs a little more context
Eliza Madrigal: In this, I feel it connects with the 'story of you'

Zen (Zen Arado): why do I dream about this dog so much?
Agatha Macbeth: Is it the same dog?
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): he was an important part of your life
    Zen (Zen Arado): yes
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Riddle Sideways: like our upper mind doesn't know all that associations of a certain object (dog) that dream uses to tell story
Zen (Zen Arado): maybe he is connecting with me
Eliza Madrigal: really being with a dog, looking through their eyes, is very 'free' feeling
Zen (Zen Arado): from lower world :)
Eliza Madrigal: true, Riddle, we all need an entirely personalized dream deciphering book :))
Zen (Zen Arado): done should have said
Agatha Macbeth: Dogs often represent a psychopomp I think
Riddle Sideways: a personal Dream Decoder Ring
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
    Agatha Macbeth: Like Anubis
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): in shamanism, animals are often spirit guides
    Agatha Macbeth: >.<
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
    Zen (Zen Arado): yes
    Eliza Madrigal: your ally
Zen (Zen Arado): he still wants to look after me
    Zen (Zen Arado): yes

Riddle Sideways: not sure if the generalized (what a dog means) is what Zen's book would say
Agatha Macbeth: 'Sometimes a cigar is a cigar'
    Riddle Sideways: sometimes
Eliza Madrigal: What came up in your associations, Alma? Want to share the monster dream?
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): ok
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): here is the dream:
Zen (Zen Arado): book has better ways than rational interpretation

Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): I'm in a car with a woman (a sister or girlfriend?). She is driving. We are in a parking lot, starting out on a trip. She shows me a little road that is barely visible at the edge of the parking lot, and says that that is the way we will be going. Suddenly she stops the car. A monster is chasing us. She tells me to stay absolutely still so that the monster can't see me. If I move, the monster will see me and kill me. (The monster looks sort of like an ape walking on two legs, about the size of a full-grown man, and shaggy in appearance.) The woman gets out of the car and chases the monster around the parking lot, trying to make it go away. The monster seems unable to harm the woman, and is even afraid of her. I continue sitting as still as I can. I have the impression that we have been through a situation like this before [perhaps in an earlier dream].

Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): The associations that came with the monster:
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): the day before the dream I saw a humorous TV ad in which a monster is following a man who is jogging. the monster says he is the man's "worry monster" and complains that the man doesn't pay any attention to him anymore
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): the fact that the monster can only see me if I am moving reminds me of a movie about dinosaurs, in which the people were trying to stand very still that a T-Rex could not see them.
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): dinosaurs supposedly rely on motion detector neurons in their eyes to see prey
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): it also reminded me of how sometimes when I can't sleep at night, if I make myself lie absolutely still and not move, then I will finally drift off
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): also, the shaggy appearance of the monster reminded me a bit of the friendly monsters on Sesame street
    Agatha Macbeth: :P
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): only this was not a friendly monster - he was out to kill

Eliza Madrigal thought of weeping angels from Doctor Who ^.^
    Agatha Macbeth: Yeh
Riddle Sideways: and the moment ya tell yerself to lay absolutely still, the nose itchs or ...
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): that's all I can think of for now
Zen (Zen Arado): maybe the monster represents something in your life?
Eliza Madrigal: any thoughts on the other person, the sister/friend?
Zen (Zen Arado): good to determine that

Zen (Zen Arado): I have to go drat
    Eliza Madrigal: :(
    Agatha Macbeth: Aww
    Riddle Sideways: :( happy darting
    Agatha Macbeth: Be well Zenny
Eliza Madrigal: see you soon Zen, hugs
    Zen (Zen Arado): byee

Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): the woman driving the car was like a guide and protector
Eliza Madrigal: sometimes you can be both people in a dream like that
Riddle Sideways: so would not be hurt by  monster
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): the monster had no power to hurt her
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): and she could chase the monster, though she was having trouble trying to make it go completely away
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): so, it was like I had to just sit as still as I could and let this woman handle the situation with the monster
Agatha Macbeth: Monsters can be tricky things like that
Eliza Madrigal thinking of meditation practice too
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): so if the monster represents the worries that keep me awake at night, then maybe the dream means I need to just be still and let something else in my unconscious deal with it
Eliza Madrigal: would be an instructive dream

Riddle Sideways: has that monster come up many other times?  or just after that advert
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): no, this was the first time I have seen that monster in a dream
Eliza Madrigal: it is like your subconscious really wanted to make the message overt
    Eliza Madrigal: bold image
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): well, the woman driving the car and I were starting out on a trip, and then the monster interfered
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Rude monster eh
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): so maybe it's telling me I need to pay attention to this before moving on
Riddle Sideways: right after shown the small hidden road to go
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): yes
    Eliza Madrigal: nice catch

Eliza Madrigal: If we spend another week doing this, do you think you'll continue with this image?
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): I'll wait and see what else comes up in my dreams
Eliza Madrigal: does everyone have something particular that comes to mind to work with?
Riddle Sideways: if we spend another week doing this, will some of me actually work on the homework?
    Eliza Madrigal giggles
Eliza Madrigal: that's the sublayer question

Eliza Madrigal: I tried to do a kind of mindmap association practice
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala) listens
Eliza Madrigal: with a camera, since I would guess at least 2/3 of my dreams have a camera or me photographing something in them
    Agatha Macbeth: Click
Eliza Madrigal: but I could only remember one actual camera that I noticed itself...
Eliza Madrigal: and that camera I also used in an art of being exhibition
    Agatha Macbeth: Wow
Eliza Madrigal: so I was unsure whether I really remembered the camera, or if I remembered the project image
    Riddle Sideways: plot thickens
Eliza Madrigal: yes, so then I realized the camera acts as a time freezer or something
Eliza Madrigal: and I wondered why I'm so busy trying to do that.... who and what am I taking all these photos for? what can't I see while time is moving
Eliza Madrigal: just associating that way
Eliza Madrigal: I want to work with it more
    Eliza Madrigal: (done)

    Riddle Sideways: capturing moments
Eliza Madrigal: I actually think this started with an exploration from ways of knowing
Agatha Macbeth: Been a while that
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): in a way, that's what we are trying to do with dream recall - capture memories of our dreams to take with us into waking life
Eliza Madrigal: yes, I didn't put the exploration down
Agatha Macbeth: Wonder how Stim is these days
Riddle Sideways: hmmm, you are right, Alma
    Eliza Madrigal nods, Alma
Eliza Madrigal: it is also a point of 'going lucid' for me sometimes too, realizing that I'm taking a photo
    Eliza Madrigal: so, fits well
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): sounds like taking photos would be a good dream sign for you
Riddle Sideways: good, hang onto that sign
Eliza Madrigal: I think Stim is well, Agatha :)
Eliza Madrigal: So I have my image, at least one strong one
    Agatha Macbeth: Good to hear
    Eliza Madrigal listens for others
Riddle Sideways: (tried to look Stim up couple years ago, when at Berkeley)
    Riddle Sideways: no classes listed
    Agatha Macbeth: Shame
Eliza Madrigal: ooh, you may have been there in summer?
Agatha Macbeth: Isn't it always summer down there?
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Riddle Sideways: ㋡
Riddle Sideways: have a funny dream to lighten things up
    Eliza Madrigal: yay
    Agatha Macbeth: Yay
    Agatha Macbeth: Snap

Riddle Sideways: 1.a Sl store, place that favorite coffee cup came from long ago, now back to buy everything, they were going out of biz. Invited many SL friends there too. Kept being bothered by not needing nor using a SL cup, but it was the one always used, but did not use/need (bothered that it did not make sense). Circled on was the illogic SL or dreaming. Woke up.
2.can't recall right now, knew a few minutes ago. reliving #1 chased #2 away ㋡

Eliza Madrigal: maybe it will come back
    Riddle Sideways: done,  no associations
Eliza Madrigal: realizing you're in SL might be a dream sign too? Either wake up then or wake 'in' then?
Riddle Sideways: lots of cups in inventory, but little used
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): parallels between SL and the dream world
    Riddle Sideways: lots of parallels
Riddle Sideways: is this a dream or SL
Agatha Macbeth: I remember Liz's teapot in the village well
Eliza Madrigal: :) I was always trying to recreate the little tea house in rieul
Agatha Macbeth: Oh I go there quite a lot

Eliza Madrigal: Have you thought more about the tigers from a few weeks ago, Riddle? Might be an interesting one to associate out, too
Riddle Sideways: think that is the only tigers ever to appear
Agatha Macbeth: Tiger tiger burning bright
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
Riddle Sideways: horses show up more often
    Eliza Madrigal: ahhh
    Agatha Macbeth: Neigh
Eliza Madrigal: another strong, majestic beast :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Indeed
Riddle Sideways: the RL team once pulled the bumper off the car
Agatha Macbeth: So tonight we've had dogs tigers and horses...interesting
Eliza Madrigal: and a monster :))
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): :)
Riddle Sideways: yes, don;t forget the monster
Agatha Macbeth: Monster isn't a Chinese zodiac symbol tho
Agatha Macbeth: Unless you count dragons
Riddle Sideways: oh missed that ref
    Riddle Sideways: dragons are different
    Eliza Madrigal: interesting link
    Agatha Macbeth: Yeh
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): well, it had a sort of ape-like appearance, so maybe a variation on monkey?

Agatha Macbeth: Those 3 form a set too
    Eliza Madrigal: a set?
    Agatha Macbeth: A trine...compatible
    Eliza Madrigal: I see :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Yep

    dreaming_005.jpg

    Agatha Macbeth: Xira :))
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Xiri!
    Agatha Macbeth: Hola guapina!
    Agatha Macbeth: Welcome back
    Riddle Sideways: hi Xir !!!!
Eliza Madrigal: we've been talking about dreams and associations... and associated our way into Chinese zodiac

Xirana (Xirana Oximoxi): thank you!! Nice to see you all too :)
Riddle Sideways: it is not in our news cycles
Xirana (Xirana Oximoxi): it's all more quiet but more repression too.... sadly
    Eliza Madrigal: cycles
    Agatha Macbeth: :(
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): what country is that?
    Xirana (Xirana Oximoxi): Catalonia :-)
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): ah!

Eliza Madrigal: such a turbulent time in the world, shiftings
Agatha Macbeth: Was it not ever so
Xirana (Xirana Oximoxi): yes.. I do have the same feeling... a lot of 'strange'things happening all over the world
Eliza Madrigal: probably not... but there was never a time when we knew so much and felt some sense of responsibility to affect things
Xirana (Xirana Oximoxi): cycles of happenings..maybe
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe people care more now
Eliza Madrigal: :) I like that way of looking at it
Riddle Sideways: wish that was so, Aggers
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): information (and dis-information) travels much faster these days
Eliza Madrigal nods.... and puppet strings more blatant
Xirana (Xirana Oximoxi): I am sorry if I have interrupt the dream conversation :)
Eliza Madrigal: maybe the answers will come in dreams
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): speed increases instability

Eliza Madrigal: not at all, Xiri...we're at the end of session, but I did want to ask you what your dream life is like
Eliza Madrigal: Do you remember your dreams?
Xirana (Xirana Oximoxi): I remember rarely...I know I should write it quickly when I wake up
Xirana (Xirana Oximoxi): some quite strange time to time
Xirana (Xirana Oximoxi): others mostly related to something I've read or seen
    Eliza Madrigal: catalysts
    Agatha Macbeth: ^.^
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Eliza Madrigal: We're trying a new thing, and Zen should be able to stay the whole session going forward I think....
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): oh, I hope so
    Agatha Macbeth: Right
Eliza Madrigal: he has had a substitute carer with a different schedule
Xirana (Xirana Oximoxi): long time I have not seen him...
Xirana (Xirana Oximoxi): ahh that's great

Eliza Madrigal: the first step (homework this week) is 'association' so we're working with any vivid dream image... and associating it out, either writing or drawing or just teasing it apart
Eliza Madrigal: Zen will have to let us know when we're ready to move on to step 2! :))
Riddle Sideways: do you still have the session link?
    Eliza Madrigal: Oops...not that....
    Eliza Madrigal: https://wiki.playasbeing.org/Chat_Logs/2018/10/2018.10.16_12:00_-_Dream_Session:_Phenomenal_Healing_Puzzles

    Agatha Macbeth: Dunno
Eliza Madrigal: I like all those films... yes was crouching
    Riddle Sideways: right, crouching
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala) tiptoes past the sleeping tiger
Eliza Madrigal: Hm, so I don't have a dream quote to close today, but....
    Eliza Madrigal: :) thanks everyone
    Riddle Sideways: thanks All
Agatha Macbeth: 'All that we see or seem to see is but a dream within a dream'

Eliza Madrigal: I should really wait until everyone arrives to sit down

    Agatha Macbeth: ???
    Agatha Macbeth: Makes sense...or not
Alma di Masala (Almadi Masala): ummm, ok

Agatha Macbeth: I love your pacing

    Riddle Sideways: hi Tura
Agatha Macbeth: 15 years and LL still suck
Zen (Zen Arado): if strage seating occurs
Riddle Sideways: and Eliza is still above ground
    Zen (Zen Arado): strange
