I am so grateful for my friends, both in SL and RL and wonder what I'd do without them. :-)

Grateful for the joyous friendly open new Halifax Central Public Library (http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/halifax-central-library-opens-to-the-public-1.2872107 and https://twitter.com/szpak/status/543832077209456641) edited 00:57, 14 Dec 2014

"Since brevity is the soul of wit", I will praise the setting sun on this mid-December day, a week and a day before the return of the light.

A few years ago I gave a nearly untuneable student piano away. It wasn't easy to part with, mainly because it had belonged to a precious friend I no longer am in touch with. I was really happy when another old friend said that they would like it.

I spent the day with that friend, for a kind of personal concert. In that little time, they've learned to play... and play very well. The student piano has been upgraded, and yet kept. I was told that I changed life for them, which meant the world, although untrue. A conspiracy of events. :)

One of the songs, not Billy Joel playing but most youtube versions are drowned by other instruments - can start minute 2, but the moment at the beginning is sweet : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pttf5RPXBmc edited 01:37, 14 Dec 2014

Had a lovely day in NYC today, great(ful) food and museums. Highlights include Halavah Ice Cream. Also came across an article that I thought Luci (or anyone else ) might enjoy (Phenomenology of Dreams in Philosophical Practice) I placed a copy here for anyone to download. https://app.box.com/s/uunmev17p0ghv2j2p2pt

I am grateful that I have FINALLY learned how to disconnect emotionally (emotional compulsivity) from things I deeply care about. I used to feel that I had to stop caring to stop hurting. I was wrong.
