I am grateful that, starting now, the days will begin to get longer.

    I wholeheartedly second Aphrodite!

Also grateful for a warm house and bright lamps to wake up with.

I am grateful to Darren and Calvino for the schedule-planning and theme-preparation they did for our Original Face Meditation Retreat this past weekend. I am also grateful for everyone who participated in the retreat - from Amsterdam to Australia.

That's okay Cat, we are all a little sideways. :)
Sorry to miss meditation yesterday, due to being swept up house company. Tis the season.

Woke this morning to snuggliest daughter, climbing into my bed, ready to begin Christmas soup. Then woke youngest, who sprang out of bed, to help with chopping. Apartment now permeated by oregano and basil. Close to Heaven, appreciating the taste of this moment, all the years and conversations and tears and risks that have gone into making it. edited 18:37, 22 Dec 2014

Grateful that to have had the opportunity to have seen how amazing Joe Cocker was live in concert. May he rest in peace.

Indeed Aphrodite, though your sunrises will continue to get later for still another week.

Writing condolences on a Newfoundland funeral home’s website. My sister-in-law's 101 years old mom died peacefully this morning. I met her at my brother's wedding and never saw the woman again, but she's been part of my life for the last 35 years or so...Strange sweet sadness of remembering stories told by my mother who met her a few times. Blanche spoke only English and my mother only French, but they got along very well, sharing the same love for their grand-children. edited 00:52, 23 Dec 2014

Grateful for dinner invite, chinese food. And so awestruck by this Lia Tarachansky interview: people are capable of reaching down into their own deeply human, and that of others (http://www.therealnews.com/t2/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=31&Itemid=74&jumival=12858).

    You bowl with jellybeans, Cat?!
That's what it looks like anyhow.
    NOW I see the attraction...

Bruce - I too am grateful for the care that has gone into making the meditation weekend a success. It was the first time I was motivated to sit for an hour. Now that I know I can do it, I will do it again with less resistance.

THANKS to eos for recommending the Lia Tarachansky interview on http://www.therealnews.com --- I watched all three segments of her interview with Paul Jay. A link to the Real News has just displaced all links to American news outlets (except NPR, of course!) on my browser's menu bar.
