I hope that as the sun rises this morning (still way too late as Storm observes) that you, Bruce will feel better. I am thankful of your letting us know you couldn't make it to the 1pm session on Monday -we all wished you a speedy recovery.
I am SOOO grateful for Aph's (et al) wishes for a quick recovery from whatever stray bug had me in its grasp yesterday. After an extremely rare daytime nap (I can't sleep in the daytime unless I'm actually sick), I woke up in a pool of sweat -- and feeling fine. I'm also grateful that I still feel just fine today!
I spoke to an old friend of 30 years who I had not seen in 10 years or so. I will be traveling in his vicinity in January (if 500 miles separating us is in his vicinity). I was grateful how easy he was to track down via the internet. Although we won't be seeing each other this trip, perhaps in another 10 years we can catch up on each other's lives again. I have found that friendship has a timeless quality that I have always enjoyed and appriciated.
I went swimming with my son this afternoon. He's really enthusiastic, wanted to swim in the deep pool, but 15 meters was a bit much for him already. Still, we had a very good time.
So much I wanted and needed to be doing today, but was thwarted by headaches. I'm thankful for the online lectures I am able to listen to, when unable to read very much, like today's: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jcdoVIoNJo. I'm very drawn to understanding Confucianism lately, and the varying types that have evolved.
Cleaning closets and cabinets, letting the Chi move around our home, going with the flow, listening to Christmas songs and enjoying reading your contributions to this Wiki page :-)
Activities and errands focusing toward extended family dinner Thursday Christmas day. In the still enveloping dark, incanting light and bounty close around friends. "Do you need anybody? I need somebody to love." What a great outward going sentiment!
Dear child
Sleep deeply
White the world
Silent flurry
Soft feather touch
Cold the breath
Misty eyed
Silent steps
Regrets
Sorrow
Drop
Red against white
Dark and light
Sleep
Grateful for time spent with loved ones.
