Tomorrow is the last day of my daily 55 breaths practice, and I'm not sure yet, what to pick up next. I hesitate to let a day go by without picking up another practice, not wanting to squander momentum. So often we talk about letting go, but it has felt good to follow through with something, even though that something is a rather small gesture, in the same way that posting here is, in the same way that daily notices are... not based on feelings on a given day but just commitment. Maybe the simplest thing would be to increase the sitting time that dwindled over the last year. edited 17:32, 20 Dec 2014

How great a tradition to have a fir tree indoors a few weeks of the year to celebrate the return of the light!

It drank all its water during the night and now sits quietly in the sun, still unadorned, splendid fragrant evergreen, in a corner of our living room. As I pour more water in its bucket, I can almost see the overjoyed tree spirit flitting from branch to branch!

There is always a way to light the dark
Showing the shadows as parts of both
    Coloured lights twinkle

Grateful for a moment to quietly read, and for books that help me think.

A day cooking and time with friends and family. A grateful moment and a grateful day
