Sitting quietly listening to the wind outside..... Reflecting on what the past year has been and dreaming of what the next will be.
I'm grateful for each and every person that has touched my life, grateful for the love and understanding each has shown me.
Grateful for this little space and all of you.
I am always amazed by what the universe does and how we all interconnect with it and each other.

That wild girl -

She keeps sending messages
back, from That Place.
How can I imagine.
Why did I let her go?

She preoccupies my energies,
with promises and secrets.
Attention squandered or invested.
How can I know?

Once in a very great while
the notes come through, like…

not just ice chips
on the lips
But like submersion
in a pool

I'm grateful for all those things that I would be grateful for if only I would notice them, but they're too normal for that.

If I were a fish I'd express my appreciation for water here.

2014 will soon be water under the bridge. At midnight, we will open the back door to let go of 2014 with gratefulness and we will open the front door to let the fresh air of the New Year 2015 come in, a ritual we repeat every year.

I too am appreciative at the end of this year, my father's first year in nursing care, for his "new normal" and my/our old one. I am grateful for friends and family and the kindness of strangers, and for the chances offered to me to be someone else's kind stranger.

Grateful to my wonderful friends here. To spend the time and conclude the year together offered a personal opportunity to explore the ease that gratefulness can be found within myself on a daily basis.
