    Bleu Oleander: morning Eliza :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Morning ladies :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Eliza :)
Eliza Madrigal: just downloaded FS but it doesn't look newer... guess I will need to change some preferences
Bleu Oleander: don't use that one ... do you find it better and sl viewer?
Catrinamonblue Resident: I never notice any changes with updates in FS
Bleu Oleander: perhaps just "behind the scenes" changes
Eliza Madrigal: yes I've liked it better for a long time... but this version (mandatory) feels awkward. Actually it feels a little more like the SL viewer
Eliza Madrigal: anyway, sorry to arrive late and begin bothering with personal aggravations ^^
Bleu Oleander: SL viewers have always worked great for me
Eliza Madrigal: it is just preference - the phoenix was like the first SL viewer I used so had a comfort factor
Catrinamonblue Resident: I've only ever used FS :) so I'm very comfortable with it
    Eliza Madrigal: :)

Bleu Oleander: heard a talk by new ceo of LL ... his main concern is to make sl easier to use

Agatha Macbeth: Which is odd actually, because I love birds
    Agatha Macbeth: Yep
Eliza Madrigal: there are these awful films now... like Birdemic, and Sharnado...lol I guess they are more "Blob" like
    Agatha Macbeth: Blob?
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh Steve McQueen?
Bleu Oleander: there was a great show on smart birds this week on Nova
Eliza Madrigal: not sure... only remember the blob
    Eliza Madrigal: oh?

<chortle>Agatha Macbeth: hM MUST TAKE A LOOK
    Agatha Macbeth: Erk
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Damn caps lock
    Bleu Oleander: lol
Eos Amaterasu yanks out his hearing aid
    Agatha Macbeth: Sorry
    Bleu Oleander: ha!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :-D
Agatha Macbeth: Considerate of them to put caps lock right over shift I always think
Eos Amaterasu has been noticing lately how bushes create a 3D nourishing and sheltering environment for little birds
Agatha Macbeth: Dunno if it's the same on a Mac
Eliza Madrigal: 's current display-name is "Eliza".
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes E
    Bleu Oleander: it is
    Agatha Macbeth: WB Liz
    Bleu Oleander: wb Eliza
    Agatha Macbeth: Aquamarine Blonde
    Catrinamonblue Resident: wb Eliza
    Catrinamonblue Resident: brb :)
    Eliza Madrigal: thanks!
Eos Amaterasu: rezzing back into SL is always like a little bang, something slowly emerging from nothing
Eliza Madrigal: it does have a unique sensation
    --BELL--
Bleu Oleander: not your grandmother's nothing :)
Eos Amaterasu: hmm, maybe _the_ grandmother's nothing :-)
Agatha Macbeth: Just don't teach her to suck eggs
Eos Amaterasu: or the grand mother nothing
Bleu Oleander: the great grand mother of nothing
Eos Amaterasu: big bang always seems a bit overly male type of thinking
Eos Amaterasu: there's also big matrix
Eliza Madrigal: well, no car chases
    Bleu Oleander: lol
Agatha Macbeth: Except in San Fransisco :p
    Eos Amaterasu: or Malta
    Agatha Macbeth: Yah
Eliza Madrigal: SF has its own bang? :)
Agatha Macbeth: Dunno about bangs but car chases a plenty it seems
Agatha Macbeth blames Starsky and Hutch
    Bleu Oleander: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I did catch a little of the Inner Fish show... impressive graphics but perhaps in trying to reach all level of audiences it is a little slow moving... still, pretty interesting to see how we still keep some indicators (lady with gills)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: back :)
    Eliza Madrigal: wb Cat :)
    Agatha Macbeth waves to Cat
Bleu Oleander: I thought it was a fascinating book and that the show was well done ... perhaps the right speed for me lol
Agatha Macbeth: What's it about actually?
    Catrinamonblue Resident: listens
Eliza Madrigal: it IS nice to see such attention and resource focused
Bleu Oleander: its about development and evolution
    Agatha Macbeth: Aha
Bleu Oleander: how our development can be traced from fish
    Agatha Macbeth smiles
Bleu Oleander: we're "organized" in a similar way
    Catrinamonblue Resident: cool
Agatha Macbeth: Tonight we sleep with the fishes
Eliza Madrigal: our eyes are still fish eyes, right?
    Eliza Madrigal: lol
Eliza Madrigal: well... evolved to see beneath water, anyway
Bleu Oleander: well eyes have developed several times in evolution
Eos Amaterasu: a recent Cosmos episode had a great riff on how eyes evolved
Eos Amaterasu: allowing seeing a 3D world, when lenses developed
Eliza Madrigal: yes! that's what I watched... explained a lot
Bleu Oleander: yes I saw that
Eliza Madrigal: as wonderful as our eyes are, they aren't quite perfect for our conditions
Bleu Oleander: started as light gathering molecules
Bleu Oleander: we only see a small fraction of light
Agatha Macbeth: Shame they are so restricted tho
    Agatha Macbeth: Snap
Eos Amaterasu: early sun-bathing living squiggles
    Eliza Madrigal: haha
Agatha Macbeth: Let there be light
Bleu Oleander: so we invent some tools to help us see the rest of the spectrum
Eos Amaterasu: which become new organs of perception on some kind of species level
    Eliza Madrigal: hm, nodding
Agatha Macbeth: Some animals can see more than us I think
Bleu Oleander: our brains would have to be huge to process the whole spectrum of light :)
Eliza Madrigal: then we wouldn't be able to walk... having t carry around huge brains
Eos Amaterasu: plus if I had neutrino eyes you would be invisible :-)
Bleu Oleander: be just big floating brains
Agatha Macbeth: And everyone would call you a bighead
Eliza Madrigal: computers seem a little like floating brains
Bleu Oleander: in some ways yes
Eos Amaterasu: neither Platonic nor Aristotelian enough
    Agatha Macbeth: Eureka
Eliza Madrigal nods... and what to do with the pesky emotions
    --BELL--
    Bleu Oleander: gotta love 'em
Agatha Macbeth: They will always be with us :p
Eliza Madrigal: our emotions developed under water too :P
Bleu Oleander: better to love the water with
    Agatha Macbeth: Fish love
Eos Amaterasu: we just wrapped skin around water and stared walking....
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: ^.^
    Eos Amaterasu: started
    Bleu Oleander: :)
Agatha Macbeth: Staring with fish eyes
Eliza Madrigal: was listening to something recently... can't remember source atm but common knowledge I guess... that fish are trying to move to colder and colder areas
Eliza Madrigal: and other places will be mostly filled with jellyfish
Agatha Macbeth: They can live in my fridge if they want
Eliza Madrigal: so there is some industry developing around what can be made with jellyfish...
Bleu Oleander: jellyfish are so cool
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Eos Amaterasu: sunny side up jfish?
    Catrinamonblue Resident: lol
Bleu Oleander: very cool article here: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/02/ma...anted=all&_r=0
Eliza Madrigal: jellyfish are wonderful yes... but in this case quite an indicator of climate change and people's reacting by thinking economically
    Eliza Madrigal clicks
Eliza Madrigal: looks great Bleu - saving, ty
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Bleu Oleander: :)
Eos Amaterasu: the jellyfish news should complement the recent IPCC mitigation report on climate change
Eliza Madrigal: I haven't had a chance to look more deeply at that... what was biggest find?
Eos Amaterasu: to keep warming at max 2 degree requires elimination of fossil fuel use. Period.
Eliza Madrigal: which won't happen, so... um...?
Eos Amaterasu: over the next 40 years
    Eos Amaterasu: "yes we can"
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Bleu Oleander: http://news.sciencemag.org/climate/2...allenging-ever
Eos Amaterasu: all it needs is attention
Eos Amaterasu: the most magical commodity
Eliza Madrigal: collective attention... even rarer
    Catrinamonblue Resident: nods
    Agatha Macbeth: Tenshun!
Bleu Oleander: "we have to stay within a limited carbon budget that is shrinking fast"
Eos Amaterasu: attention combined with "at ease"
Eliza Madrigal: ah... perfect segue to talk about retreat in the village!
    Agatha Macbeth: Smarty bum
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Eliza Madrigal: gosh everyone dressed so well this morning
Eliza Madrigal: see you there, thanks Bleu!
    Bleu Oleander: ok
    Bleu Oleander: c u there
Bleu Oleander: thanks for coming all
Eos Amaterasu: time to segue, yes, thanks Bleu!</chortle>
