The Guardian for this meeting was Aphrodite Macbain. The comments are by Aphrodite Macbain.

Aphrodite Macbain: early birds you two!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Zon Kwan: you too

    Aphrodite Macbain: :-) me too

    PaB's Future

Aphrodite Macbain: I'm hoping we can talk about PaB's future today...

    Zon Kwan: have you thoughts?
    Zon Kwan: hi Bruce
Aphrodite Macbain: a few- I sent them in by email
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Bruce
    Bruce Mowbray: Hello!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: hello Bruce :)

Aphrodite Macbain: what do you think of the idea of creating a holodeck that can be rezzed off and on?
    ElanVitalo Resident listens.
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hello Elan
ElanVitalo Resident: Heya, Aph, Cat, Bruce, and Zon!

Aphrodite Macbain: they have them at Perfect Paradise
    Aphrodite Macbain smiles at Elan
ElanVitalo Resident smiles back at Aph.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hello Elan :)
    ElanVitalo Resident: Heya, Cat.

Aphrodite Macbain: druth & I were thinking we may be able to put the Sacred Arts Museum into a holodeck
Catrinamonblue Resident: I don't really hang out anywhere else in SL so I can't really say much
Bruce Mowbray: Don't holodecks also count in prim counts?
    Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Lila.
    Zon Kwan: hi Elan
    Zon Kwan: hi Lila
    ElanVitalo Resident: Welcome, Lila.
    Aphrodite Macbain: Lila- hello!
    Lila Sideways: thank you
    Lila Sideways: hello
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hello Lila :)

Bruce Mowbray: Also, I thought sky-decks also counted...
Aphrodite Macbain: yes- perhaps we could put the museum on a sky deck
Aphrodite Macbain: I'm not sure how many prims are allowed
Bruce Mowbray: So, we can build higher and higher on the same track of land?
Aphrodite Macbain: that, I don't know.
Bruce Mowbray: (so long as we don't exceed the prim allotment?)
    Bruce Mowbray: me neither.
    Aphrodite Macbain: maybe
Zon Kwan: whats your views on future Aph?
Catrinamonblue Resident: Might be better to have this conversation with those who know better than we
    Aphrodite Macbain: nods
    Bruce Mowbray agrees.
    ElanVitalo Resident also agrees.
Aphrodite Macbain: What I hope we can accomplish here is to get an idea of why we come to PaB.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Aphrodite Macbain: whether it is just to meet like this at the pavilion or to do other things
    Bruce Mowbray: multiple reasons, probably.
Aphrodite Macbain: like visiting the museum, working on our own bit of land, going to the village hall etc
Aphrodite Macbain: What cant you let go of? what is essential to maintain?
ElanVitalo Resident: I would think that the shake-down that will occur between now and July will show us something of our "reasons."
Aphrodite Macbain: and would you be willing to contribute some $
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I surely would.
    ElanVitalo Resident me too.
Aphrodite Macbain: all 2 of you Bruce/Elan?
    Bruce Mowbray: yeppers.
    Aphrodite Macbain: :-)
Aphrodite Macbain: I would be willing to throw in $5-8 /month
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Raffila
    Bruce Mowbray: Heya, Raffi.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Raffi
Aphrodite Macbain: we are discussing PaB essentials
    Raffila Millgrove: hello all
    Aphrodite Macbain: nice hat!
    ElanVitalo Resident: Hello, Raffi.
    Zon Kwan: hi Raffi

Aphrodite Macbain: what is the most important thing PaB offers you?
    Zon Kwan: discussions
Aphrodite Macbain: so- the pavilion is something we should keep
Zon Kwan: yes i dont do much more here
Aphrodite Macbain: so if the PaB land were reduced to just a space for the pavilion, would you all be happy?
Raffila Millgrove: meet other people with different backgrounds/experience/ education/interests who will share ... ideas and bits of life that are fresh/newish to me. I don't care about physical.. items. the chance to be together to share.. this is what is important to me. the material things aren't.
Aphrodite Macbain: nods=so the pavilion as a place to do this?
Raffila Millgrove: (adds this tiny bit.. because i think it is important also.. we're so outdated in our builds. they are beautiful.. but mesh is such a prim saver)
    Aphrodite Macbain: nods
Raffila Millgrove: this pavilion.. it should be converted to mesh.. would look the same at 1/4 the prims.
Raffila Millgrove: we're huge prim wasters without realizing it.
Zon Kwan: we could of course have a campfire at seaside
Aphrodite Macbain: what about the museum or the molecule or the dome? would you miss them if they were gone?
    Zon Kwan: more cosy
Raffila Millgrove: personally i wouldn't, but i have read in the mails that others would. i stress that we're so backward and not updated in prim usage.
    Aphrodite Macbain: nods
Aphrodite Macbain: perhaps we can rez those places as needed
Aphrodite Macbain: hello Silas- just noticed you :-)
    SilasAndrews Resident: Hello!
    SilasAndrews Resident listens.
    Zon Kwan: hi Silas

Aphrodite Macbain: Ok well it seems most of you would be happy with simply having a place to talk about ideas
    Catrinamonblue Resident: oui :)
SilasAndrews Resident: (doesn't know anything about mesh vs. whatever else there is).
Aphrodite Macbain: we can leave that to the techno experts
Bruce Mowbray: If we have to scale it down to just one build, I'd go for the pavilion, no doubt about that.
    Zon Kwan: must go, waves
Raffila Millgrove: ok. what i am going to do.. is talk to Storm privately about this.. as i know someone who converts to mesh.. easily. is good at it. i don't want to ask her if she'd do it.. unless Storm wants to explore that angle.

Raffila Millgrove: I think she'd do it for free. if not i am willing to pay for it to be done to be sensible about prims in the pavilion.
Catrinamonblue Resident: Bye Zon, hello Shin :)
Aphrodite Macbain: OK so, what shall we discuss?
    Wol Euler: evening all
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Wol
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Wol :)
    ShinjuJin Resident: Hi everyone :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Shinju

Aphrodite Macbain: we have just been discussing what we value most in PaB and, not surprisingly, it is our discussions at the pavilion
    ShinjuJin Resident: ty
Raffila Millgrove: this way at least our pavilion becomes a practical build to take elsewhere.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
ShinjuJin Resident: those are the core
    Wol Euler smiles.
Aphrodite Macbain: Seems most here would be happy with reducing our land to that supporting the pavilion, am I right?
Aphrodite Macbain: I am wondering whether we could fit the museum into a holodeck
Wol Euler: Ideally I would like to keep the bar too, but I'd settle for saving the playgoda yes
    Aphrodite Macbain: the pub?
    Wol Euler: yes, pub, sorry
Bruce Mowbray: I love 5 Bells.

    ElanVitalo Resident me too.
Aphrodite Macbain: Raffi was saying that we could be more economical in our prims
ShinjuJin Resident: Storm has said the pub uses few prims
ElanVitalo Resident: especially when the NDR goes under it.
Aphrodite Macbain: and design a playgoda using mesh
Bruce Mowbray: What, roughly, is the comparison between mesh and regular?
ShinjuJin Resident knows nothing about mesh but is open to learning
Bruce Mowbray: I mean, what would we save by going all mesh?
Raffila Millgrove: i wrote in the chat. that i will talk to storm about meshing the pavilion so that if we move it.. we'll be more practical/sensible in prim usage which didn't matter here and will matter a lot elsewhere.
    ShinjuJin Resident: thanks Raffi
    ElanVitalo Resident: TY, Raffi.
Raffila Millgrove: Bruce. i will talk to Storm first on it. This pavilion is 61 prim.. just the basic structure. taking it out of world, applying mesh.. bringing it back. I suspect it would then be well under 1/2. maybe 1/4 of that count.
SilasAndrews Resident ponders all there is to learn in SL.
Aphrodite Macbain: I am hoping the museum could be moved to a holodeck or a skyplatform and rezzed as needed
ShinjuJin Resident: The difficulty in having a holodeck for something like the museum, is that it is an attraction people come to all its own, not just part of pab for diff seasons that is put up and down, but it seems we'll have to figure out what our resources are.
Raffila Millgrove: that same thing should be done with museum for same reason.. to get it into reasonable prims.
ShinjuJin Resident: reducing prims would be a marvelous option
Raffila Millgrove: if we chose to take it too.
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes
Raffila Millgrove: I feel it's appropriate to consult with Storm... because he is the builder and he has to agree and let someone mesh it for us.
ShinjuJin Resident: we could have guardian meetings inside of the museum, and possibly an area for our own art exhibits outside or something
    ShinjuJin Resident: nods
Aphrodite Macbain: or we could expand the size of the pavilion for larger meetings
Wol Euler: agreed, it would be insulting to do it to the playgoda without talking to him first
ShinjuJin Resident: nothing building wise would be done without Storm :)
Raffila Millgrove: count the pillows Wol. we already have space for a lot of people.
ShinjuJin Resident: or could be done
    Aphrodite Macbain: of course.
Wol Euler: aph, not me :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: ?
Wol Euler: on a point of information, there are 24 cushions here, when did we last have more than that attending a guardian meeting?
SilasAndrews Resident hums that song ... "Take all the prims and put 'em in a prim museum... And charge . . . . just to see 'em..." (Carole King???)
    Wol Euler: heheheheheh
    Wol Euler: Joni Mitchell
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    SilasAndrews Resident: Oh yeah. Joni.
ShinjuJin Resident: the only time we have a lot of people is during birthday or special theme meetings - very rare :)
    Wol Euler smiles.
    SilasAndrews Resident: sry, Joni.
Aphrodite Macbain: so we have enough here for a guardian meeting
    Raffila Millgrove: we do.
    Wol Euler: easily :)
Aphrodite Macbain: I suppose the issue is privacy
ShinjuJin Resident: I just like meeting somewhere else once in a while ;))
    Wol Euler: how so, aph?
Bruce Mowbray nods, agrees. Loves diversity.
Aphrodite Macbain: When we meet in the Village Hall, don't we meet there so we can talk privately?
Catrinamonblue Resident: as to privacy I thought Storm mentioned a way that it could be kept private if needed
ShinjuJin Resident: there are gadgets, like we used at la Sakura
ShinjuJin Resident: if it became an issue
ShinjuJin Resident: we're less concerned about visitors in guardian sessions lately... nothing too intimate being discussed
Aphrodite Macbain: I would love diversity- I was just trying to think of solutions to having limited space
ShinjuJin Resident: but Aph is right that it is a good concern to raise
Wol Euler: it would be simple enough to set the land to "group access only" for private meetings, then change it back

Wol Euler: that would however greatly increase the amount of land we'd need, if we really cared that nobody could get close enough to listen in
    ShinjuJin Resident: :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: good point Wol
Aphrodite Macbain: we could plant new trees and flowers every season at the pavilion...
Catrinamonblue Resident: Aph, let the tech guys work it out. You do what you do best, which is lead amazing and interesting discussions on various topics :) I thought I saw an email with the topic of death?
    Aphrodite Macbain: thanks Cat.
Aphrodite Macbain:I just thought it would be useful to shake out any new ideas on what to do with PaB before we moved on to the less practical stuff for PaB
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I agree with Cat.

ElanVitalo Resident ponders death as being less practical stuff.
ShinjuJin Resident: it is good to keep talking about it, but soon we'll need to narrow down to a few questions - what are our resources, what is the bottom line, what is the difference/surplus
    ShinjuJin Resident: haha Elan
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)

    Death

    Aphrodite Macbain: OK Cat.
Aphrodite Macbain: What would you like to say about death?
Bruce Mowbray: Well, I do have a serious comment about it.
Catrinamonblue Resident: just thought it was an interesting subject :) didn't you send out an email with that as a possible topic?
    Aphrodite Macbain: no
    Catrinamonblue Resident: listens to Bruce
Catrinamonblue Resident: whispers sorry Aph, thought you had
Aphrodite Macbain: we mentioned it as an idea in last week's meeting but that was before this PaB issue came up
Bruce Mowbray: I have never met anyone who came very very near to dying (including my typist) who did not come away from that experience NOT FEARING death at all...

ShinjuJin Resident tries to remember the names of those things in harry potter that make one fuzzy-headed

    Wol Euler: "wigs"?

Bruce Mowbray: a brush with death seems to inoculate one against fearing it. I first heard this from my 8th grade English teacher - who actually drowned, and then was resuscitated.
Catrinamonblue Resident: I read something somewhere recently that most people do not fear death itself but suffering and pain.......
    Bruce Mowbray: Welcome, Mick!
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Mick!
    Mickorod Renard: Hiya
    ShinjuJin Resident: Hi Mick!
Wol Euler: hello birthday boy :)
    Bruce Mowbray: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Mickorod Renard: ha ha ,yeh another year older
Aphrodite Macbain: happy birthday to you!
ShinjuJin Resident: happy birthday. we're talking about death :)
    Wol Euler: hheheheheh
    Bruce Mowbray: ***** APP
    LAUSE! *****
    Wol Euler applauds!

A cake with candles appears in front of Mick

    Cancer cures

Raffila Millgrove: i just read amazing article in the New Yorker. Here is the link to the story. It relates to what Bruce has said. a new study... in treating terminal cancer patients .. with astounding results.
    Raffila Millgrove: http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/20...trip-treatment
    Mickorod Renard: whats that Raffi?
ShinjuJin Resident: Oh, yes Raffi! I read this
    ElanVitalo Resident: TY, Raffi.
Mickorod Renard: what sort of treatment does he use?
Raffila Millgrove: please bookmark.. if you didn't read it.. you will be.. very ... interested to read it. there is sections and quotes about... meditation.. about brain imaging. about science being squashed for 30 years.. revived.
Mickorod Renard: ok cool,,i darnt open it or i will crash
Aphrodite Macbain: Thanks Raffi -how advanced is this study? Can it be applied today?
Raffila Millgrove: the treatment is psylocibin (sp?) the magic mushroom... and it has produced astonishing results in controlled treatment with terminal cancer patients.
    ElanVitalo Resident: Done (bookmarked!)
ShinjuJin Resident: I've followed along with this progression, reopening doors to hallucinogens for medical and psychiatric purposes
Raffila Millgrove: this is phase two. of a sanctioned drug trial. it's very MAINSTREAM.
Bruce Mowbray: AHH! by Michael Pollan!
Mickorod Renard: oops, i am opening it
Raffila Millgrove: if you read the article you will see it is not some bullshit media excitement. It is very sound science.
SilasAndrews Resident will read it later, at Bruce's house.
    ShinjuJin Resident nods
Mickorod Renard: I must admit to having magic mushroom tea once..by accident..it was very amusing
Raffila Millgrove: much research that was done in 50-60's was important.. but in the craziness of ... sadly... people like Timothy Leary and the recreational use of the drug...(s).... 30 years was lost.

ElanVitalo Resident wonders why Mick is standing.
    ShinjuJin Resident smiles
Aphrodite Macbain: Have a seat Mick and blow out the candles
ShinjuJin Resident: to be taller than his cake
    Bruce Mowbray: Ha ha!

Raffila Millgrove: now they are renewing their research in ways that are acceptable to medical and science communities. getting all permissions.
Aphrodite Macbain: there (lowers the cake)
    ShinjuJin Resident: :))
Bruce Mowbray: [not to mention that marijuana has become "politically correct."
ShinjuJin Resident: I have an interesting article also, but mainly it is the idea that I think is important - of death doulas
    ShinjuJin Resident: http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandst...ce-up-to-death
Raffila Millgrove: there are some great points about death. at least how America treats death but also how it.... doesn't really feel ok with anything mystical.. that it threatens puritan value system.
Aphrodite Macbain: in some states only, right Bruce?
SilasAndrews Resident: Yes, only in some states...
SilasAndrews Resident: but it's catching on.
Bruce Mowbray watches Mick trying to sit down.

    Assisted suicide

Aphrodite Macbain: also, speaking of death, Canada's law courts have de-criminalized doctor assisted suicide
    Bruce Mowbray: Whew!
    Wol Euler: oh wow
    ShinjuJin Resident: thank goodness
Mickorod Renard: trying to blow out candles
    Aphrodite Macbain: indeed
Wol Euler: how on earth did that get past Harper?
ElanVitalo Resident: YAYYY! Score a big one for Canada!
    Aphrodite Macbain: :-)
ElanVitalo Resident: (Yet ANOTHER big one!)
Aphrodite Macbain: It went to the judicial body
    ElanVitalo Resident nods.
    Aphrodite Macbain: the law courts
    Aphrodite Macbain: not parliament
Wol Euler: I don't believe that he cares a sparrow's fart for that difference, pardon my quebecois
    Aphrodite Macbain: lol
Wol Euler: anyway :) yay us, for as long as it lasts
Aphrodite Macbain tries to imagine a sparrow's fart
Bruce Mowbray: Who would have thought that the judiciary would save us from democracy?
ElanVitalo Resident also tries such imagining.
Bruce Mowbray: but back to the 'death' theme....
Aphrodite Macbain: I thought we were in it....
Bruce Mowbray: Since my typist's near-death experience almost four years ago, he has been somewhat envious of persons who were successful in their dying.
    Wol Euler listens.
Mickorod Renard: thats a big article on mushrooms,,i will have to read later
Bruce Mowbray will also read it, enthusiastically.
ShinjuJin Resident: my mom is a nurse, and has described very different ways of dying. Perhaps some have 'rehearsed' more, or that might be due to a near-death experience.
Aphrodite Macbain: what do you mean "successful"?
Bruce Mowbray: I mean that they were actually successful in dying... The medicos didn't pull them back.
Aphrodite Macbain: I would like to be able to control when and how I die
    Bruce Mowbray: me too.
Bruce Mowbray: and I can recommend an effective method, if anyone is interested....
    Mickorod Renard: yes please?
Bruce Mowbray: but perhaps that would be out of taste here.
    Mickorod Renard: oh ok
Bruce Mowbray: I will give you a link....
ShinjuJin Resident: the reason I like the notion of death doulas, is that I remember how important midwives were during labor... how no one can really 'help' but someone's voice in the distance encouraging you that everything is okay and one can let go to the mystery... seems compassionate
    ElanVitalo Resident: wonderful, Shin.
Raffila Millgrove nods in agreement with Shin.
ShinjuJin Resident: seems very similar to me, the process
Aphrodite Macbain: but something has to keep me from doing it in an impulsive, emotional way...a death doula is a good solution
    SilasAndrews Resident nods, agrees.
    Wol Euler nods.
Mickorod Renard: yes, the final exploration
Raffila Millgrove: death like birth--always felt it is seen as "medical" event when in hospital.. reasons why people would rather stay home...
    ShinjuJin Resident: yes, exactly
Aphrodite Macbain: I wonder how I would find one in my neighbourhood...
Raffila Millgrove: and have a "life experience" rather than be a medical case.
    ShinjuJin Resident: right
    ShinjuJin Resident: becoming more common
    Aphrodite Macbain: something about dignity
Raffila Millgrove: the hospice movement has helped a lot in that.
Mickorod Renard: I had one some years ago..must have been gone only a few seconds but the peacefulness and feeling of no pain was wonderful
    Wol Euler: wow
Raffila Millgrove: studies seem to show that people are not so afraid of death as they are of suffering.. in death. not the goneness as much as the pain and putting loved ones also thru it.
ElanVitalo Resident ponders, "we must somehow separate the notion of dignity from "pride." Dignity is SO important.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: nods at Raffi
    ShinjuJin Resident nodding
Aphrodite Macbain: yes Raffi- that's what we were talking about last week- I remember now
ShinjuJin Resident: is the 'sting' gone, Mick, when you imagine death?
Raffila Millgrove: also both loved ones and doctors esp oncologists are often pushing the terminal person to "fight' which might not be what the person really wants to do. some are ready to give up and can't do it due to disappointing others.
Mickorod Renard: I certainly dont worry about death so much now
    Bruce Mowbray nods, understands.
ShinjuJin Resident: maybe it comes back to the second arrow suffering idea. I had, not a NDE but an experience that could be compared to one, and it feels that way... that the edge isn't there
Mickorod Renard: but I remember not wanting to die alone
Aphrodite Macbain: the Tibetan way of dying encourages family and friends not to fight it- to let go and allow the person to die
ElanVitalo Resident: At what point do docs 'get it' that some patients simply don't want to 'fight' to save the reputations of their docs?
    ShinjuJin Resident nods Aph
Aphrodite Macbain: It is in their doctor's code to preserve life
Raffila Millgrove: personally i had the honor/luck to be able to say to both the people who brought me up. mom and grannny... to say it was "ok" to go. it meant a lot to them.. to have my permission to go..
Bruce Mowbray: I want to die alone, and would "fight" to be able to do so.
Raffila Millgrove: they didn't want to leave me. it was important that I could say to them.. it's ok.. you have to get to heaven now etc.
Wol Euler: I read that many doctors would gladly let patients die peacefully but are instructed by horrified relatives to employ "any means available" to prolong life
    ShinjuJin Resident: beautiful, Raffi
ElanVitalo Resident: "Do no harm" might also mean to allow someone his/her choice.
Aphrodite Macbain: It should be in their will: DNR
    Wol Euler nods to Raffi
ShinjuJin Resident: all my kids know my wishes in that regard... we talk about it normally
    Aphrodite Macbain: Do not Resuscitate
Raffila Millgrove: it was very very hard actually. for my mom i wore a ton of mascara.. so that i would not cry. i knew if i had all that gunk on my eyelashes i would NOT cry. because of course i didn't want her to go.
    Aphrodite Macbain: wonderful Shinju
Mickorod Renard: yeh, i have instructed my lot not to save me in any way
Bruce Mowbray: Wills and "advance directives" are frequently ignored by docs. Besides, Wills are after-the-fact and don't matter.
ShinjuJin Resident: you know there is a teacher who guides in dream yoga, who also focuses on Tibetan ways of dying..seems to have a lot in common
    Bruce Mowbray: even "Living wills..."
Aphrodite Macbain wonders whether this is a new trend, a new attitude around dying.
Catrinamonblue Resident feels a bit sad at not having had the chance to say a real goodbye to my mom, but now I am getting to know her in ways I could never do when she was alive
ShinjuJin Resident: I think we're becoming more compassionate in some ways Aph, or sputtering, trying to
Raffila Millgrove: but of course Cat.. that was her gift to you.. to make it easier for you to forgive and love again... not having to do it face to face.
Bruce Mowbray: You need to have an advocate.... who will insist that the preferences of the dying are upheld.
Bruce Mowbray: and that person needs to have power of att'ny in medical issues.
Aphrodite Macbain: the person managing my estate can be my advocate
    ShinjuJin Resident: bittersweet, Cat
Catrinamonblue Resident: only if they are aware and know Aph, do make sure of that. It took us days to find my mother's will
Bruce Mowbray: No, Aph! Your estate can only be managed AFTER you're dead.
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, thank you, Cat.
    Aphrodite Macbain: I know
Aphrodite Macbain: oh I see what you mean but can't they insist on DNR?
Raffila Millgrove: on the form, where i am.. you can sign.. a power of attorney ..
ShinjuJin Resident: harder to figure out who to entrust to erase my computer, haha
ElanVitalo Resident: It seems to be important that humans know how to live.... and how to die.
Raffila Millgrove: in our state. that form is part of the DNR thing.
ElanVitalo Resident: (robots don't worry about such things.)
Aphrodite Macbain: just dont get rusty Elan!
Raffila Millgrove: the problem is that when you're in the ER.. they are not going to computer to find your forms etc. they don't respect your wishes on this stuff in the ER
ElanVitalo Resident keeps oil can handy.
    Bruce Mowbray: Right, Raffi!
Raffila Millgrove murmurs that you probably should have DNR tattoo on your chest to really get what you want.
Wol Euler: I was just thinking that!
Aphrodite Macbain: hopefully my friend, who is the manager of my estate will be there, will in hand...
ShinjuJin Resident: good to have such a trusted person
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, that would probably be advisable -- but be sure to sign that tattoo.
    Raffila Millgrove: hehe bruce.
    Aphrodite Macbain: :-) lol
Aphrodite Macbain wonders where she would put the tattoo
Bruce Mowbray: so, any other ideas on dying?
    Bruce Mowbray: and death?
ShinjuJin Resident: does it seem to others that people often have premonitions before they die? a few times in life, someone has talked to me in a sort of dreamy way, about dying... only to pass very soon
    Aphrodite Macbain: and the afterlife?
Aphrodite Macbain: you have 4 minutes. giggles
ElanVitalo Resident: oh dear, another topic....

    Prescience

ElanVitalo Resident: Maybe next week, on "afterlife."
Raffila Millgrove: here's the thing. whenever someone is making all these plans about this ideal birth they will have of their baby.. i keep quiet but privately i sigh because No one ever gets their birth plan to go the way they'd like. It's always screwed up somehow and i think.. likely death works similarly. you never really get exact how you'd like it.
Aphrodite Macbain: maybe next week we can talk about paradise and hell
Catrinamonblue Resident: I think I knew when my mom died, though we didn't find out till a week later, I had a strange conversation with my BF about her, said I felt she was already dead.......
    Bruce Mowbray: WELL SAID, Raffi!
ShinjuJin Resident nods Raffi... due diligence and let go
    Wol Euler: huh
    Aphrodite Macbain: prescient Cat
    Catrinamonblue Resident: possibly.....
ShinjuJin Resident: yes Cat that is what I was thinking of
Bruce Mowbray: I also knew when my dad died --- about an hour before my mom called to inform me.
    Aphrodite Macbain: wow
    Catrinamonblue Resident: nods
ShinjuJin Resident: I knew my great grandfather had died, just before the phone rang, when I was little
Bruce Mowbray: I was 1000 miles away at the time.
Raffila Millgrove: my favorite death is a lady who was sitting in the den with her husband... in perfect health.. and he asks for a section of the newspaper and she stands up with it to hand to him and falls down dead on the floor.
Raffila Millgrove: both really old people of course.
    ShinjuJin Resident: :)
Bruce Mowbray: YES, Shin. THAT was exactly my own experience.
Aphrodite Macbain: wonder what section that was Raff
    ShinjuJin Resident: hahaha
Bruce Mowbray: My dad was only 51.
    ShinjuJin Resident: wow, :(
    Mickorod Renard: wow
Aphrodite Macbain: I am writing my mother's obituary now
Catrinamonblue Resident: hugs Bruce (my mom was 61)
Bruce Mowbray: The day after American Thanksgiving.
Raffila Millgrove: shook people up of course that she went so sudden but gosh it was.. such a painless quick way to go.. and so homey.
Aphrodite Macbain: so I won't have to do it when she has died
Bruce Mowbray nods, is very grateful for that hug.
    Bruce Mowbray: Excellent plan, Aph.
    Aphrodite Macbain: so young Cat
    Catrinamonblue Resident: yes I know
    Aphrodite Macbain: so young Bruce
Bruce Mowbray: Some folks write their own obits, you know.
Mickorod Renard: I am starting to consider being responsible for the first time in my life..i am learning how to survive without my wife, in case she pegs out
Raffila Millgrove: these old people who take a nap and never wake up.. so lucky. when they are not so old.. it is much harder to.. face and accept and so forth.
ShinjuJin Resident: my ex grand inlaws.... the grandmother wheeled over to me one day and asked to talk about her husband, because she was thinking he was sad because all of his friends seemed to be dying... they were both late 80s at that time. We talked about transitions, and she smiled and said she was so glad to have the talk... and died about a week later

Bruce Mowbray: THANK YOU, Aph, and thank you everyone.
Aphrodite Macbain: I feel I am too close to the subject to write my own obit.
