I arrived at the Playgoda to find Susi and Wol already there, with a new addition, Susi's trained falcon. Pila arrived just as I did.

    Wol Euler: the dull roar of the highway 2 miles away is the fisrt thing I notice when I go to my parents' house
    doug Sosa: in the old village it was the rumbling of the carts, the drivers beating the donkies

    Pila Mulligan: one tire sounds first, then dozens then rorars :)
    doug Sosa: the *absence* of the song birds is noticeable, like their afternoon nap.
    Wol Euler: difference is, those sounds are intermittent. There aren't that many donkeys, and they stop rolling overnight

    Wol Euler: the highway never pauses
    doug Sosa: i agree about tires.
    Samuel Okelly: i know a number of ppl who live by the coast who do not "enjoy" the domineering sound of gulls
    Pila Mulligan: have you heard peacocks :)

    Samuel Okelly: it seems that it is the incessant nature of the sound rather than the sound itself

    Solobill Laville: There is a reason that monks go away to caves or quiet monasteries
    Pila Mulligan: so the old world is not so far off in time
    Adams Rubble likes to get into the woods at least once a week
