The Guardian for this meeting was Fefonz Quan. The comments are by Fefonz Quan.
Pema, Scathach, Tarmel and me come to the meeting, along with a new one - Yichard.
Fefonz Quan: Hi Pema :)
Pema Pera: Hi again Fefonz
Pema Pera: long time no see!
Fefonz Quan: Say hi to Lia for me :)
Pema Pera: will do!
Pema Pera: Hi Yichard!
Yichard Muni: Hi :-)
Pema Pera: Have you been here before, Yichard?
Yichard Muni: no
Yichard Muni: I though there was a specific topic, tonight
Fefonz Quan: Hi Richard
Pema Pera: no, that is in the Kira Cafe
Pema Pera: We get together a few times a day to chat about the nature of reality, and everything else, and we have a wiki http://playasbeing.wik.is/ -- We record our conversations there. Do you mind being included in our blogs?
Fefonz Quan was afk for a while
Yichard Muni: looking at the wiki
Fefonz Quan: Aloha, Scath :)
Pema Pera: Hi Scath!
Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Fefonz, Pema:)
Yichard Muni: Vendui Scathach
Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Yichard
Yichard Muni: why not to include me in the blog?
Yichard Muni: -
Pema Pera: brb, RL calling
Fefonz Quan: what do you mean Yichard?
Yichard Muni: -
Fefonz Quan: no, the line before it ?
Fefonz Quan: :)
Fefonz Quan: did i say something ? :-/
Scathach Rhiadra: :)
Scathach Rhiadra: not that I heard
Fefonz Quan: i didn't think so :)
Fefonz Quan: Hey Tarm!
Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Tarmel:)
Fefonz Quan: good to see you
Pema Pera: Fefonz, I asked Yichard whether it was okay to include him in the blog
Pema Pera: so he responded :-)
Pema Pera: thanks, Yichard!
Scathach Rhiadra: a week alter?
Tarmel Udimo: hi fefonz, scath and pema
Scathach Rhiadra: later*
Pema Pera: Hi Tarmel!
Scathach Rhiadra: hmm, I'm getting confused, see things in chat taht are not there:)
Pema Pera: and hi Scathach
The last sad event of deadly fires in Australia is duscussed.
Fefonz Quan: Tarmel, i read that it's too hot in AUstralia lately :-(
Tarmel Udimo: yes horrible forest fires - deth toll up to 200
Tarmel Udimo: death
Tarmel Udimo: luckily in Victoria not Sydney
Fefonz Quan: yes, sounds terrible
Scathach Rhiadra nods
Tarmel Udimo: humm, the temp had been up to 40 degrees for a week before that
Tarmel Udimo: so it was inevitable
Tarmel Udimo: but then up in Queensland another state they are having flods which are also killing people
Fefonz Quan: it gets a above 40 where i come from, but mostly with no casulties...
Tarmel Udimo: its a very extreme environment
Tarmel Udimo: not fires?
Fefonz Quan: not mostly.
Tarmel Udimo: desert?
Fefonz Quan: the deserts don't have many trees, thoguh
Tarmel Udimo: we have the bush - lovely eucalytptus trees that oddly enough needs fires to regrow
Fefonz Quan: needs fires?
Yichard Muni: sorry, I crashed
Scathach Rhiadra: wb Yichard
Tarmel Udimo: yes the indigenous poplutaion knew how to use fire to regrow the forests or change the landscape, turn areas into scrubb land and back again to forests
Fefonz Quan: amasing, didn't think somebody does or can do it these days
Tarmel Udimo: hummm
Tarmel Udimo: most of the fires have been set by arsonists which is very strange
Tarmel Udimo: a very strange thing to do....
Yichard Muni: each time it is the same: arsonists
Fefonz Quan: (what are arsonits?)
Yichard Muni: arsonites: new cult, lol
Tarmel Udimo: people who set fires
Pema Pera: sorry again, RL calling once more. I will have to leave -- sorry about that
Yichard Muni: to reply your previous question, Pema, I don't mind if my name is in the logs
Pema Pera: (life is just too hectic these days .....)
Fefonz Quan: thanks, YIchard
Scathach Rhiadra: bye Pema:)
Tarmel Udimo: bye pema
Pema Pera: bye for now!
Yichard Muni: bye
Yichard Muni: hmmm... I won't be able to stay much, it is late here
Fefonz Quan: ok, hope to see you again YIchard
Yichard Muni: shadow has long ago engulfed my side of our planet
Scathach Rhiadra: :)
Yichard Muni: let us start, before I go
Tarmel Udimo: bye yichard
Fefonz Quan: the light will come back :)
Yichard Muni: -
Fefonz Quan likes the word 'engulfed'
Emotions and dealing with them in a spiritual is the next topic. And one of great interest indeed.
Tarmel Udimo: I've been reading a book about emotions
Tarmel Udimo: in a spiritual context
Tarmel Udimo: Tibetan
Fefonz Quan: can you tell more?
Scathach Rhiadra: mm, sounds interesting:)
Yichard Muni: -
Tarmel Udimo: its about our relationship to space
Tarmel Udimo: and so for instance - fear - becomes anger which is considered water based is also the opposite of clarity, pentrating insight
Tarmel Udimo: so each negative emotion has its dual counterpart and if meditated on and worked with will produce the opposite
Scathach Rhiadra: who is the author?
Tarmel Udimo: nothing new to therapy
Fefonz Quan: ah, the 'pollutioning' factor and their antidotes?
Tarmel Udimo: its called spectrum of ecstasy by Ngakpa Chogyam
Fefonz Quan: factors*
Yichard Muni: -
Yichard Muni: -
Fefonz Quan: (Yichard, i can see only '-' when you type, is it ok?)
Tarmel Udimo: unlike therapy however one meditates on these states on of course they have image based representations in manadals an wrathful gods
Fefonz Quan: so how do you handle fear in that method?
Tarmel Udimo: give me a min..
Scathach Rhiadra: :)
Fefonz Quan: even two
Tarmel Udimo: thanks fefonz :-)
Tarmel Udimo: well its by doing what we do in Pab or pheono observing
Tarmel Udimo: so when anger arises recognise that its based on some form of fear
Tarmel Udimo: in fact its interesting when one is angrey how precise and directed and focused our thoughts, emotions can be
Fefonz Quan: yes, it is very powerful
Tarmel Udimo: in looking at or discovering the fear, theanger dissolves into clarity
Fefonz Quan: among the toughest times to contemplate and not get carried away with it
Tarmel Udimo: yes, buddhism never says it is bad to be angrey but sees its use of energy as a way of cutting through
Tarmel Udimo: howvere one must also be unattached to it... :-)
Fefonz Quan: and when transformed to fear (+ clarity), what's next?
Tarmel Udimo: penetrating wisdom :-)
Fefonz Quan knew the answer will be short and easy to imlement ;-)
Language, font and Tibetian are mixed together...
Scathach Rhiadra: א¼‡א¼³
Fefonz Quan: implement*
Tarmel Udimo: hahahahaha
Fefonz Quan: Scath, i see just some weird symbols on your last comment... is it just me?
Scathach Rhiadra: no, they are there:)
Yichard Muni: sorry, crashed again
Tarmel Udimo: wb yichard
Scathach Rhiadra: I'm trying to get Tibetan script to work in SL, forgot what language I had turned on:)
Yichard Muni: tibetan letters?
Fefonz Quan: ok :)
Scathach Rhiadra: yes Yichard
Yichard Muni: doesn't it use UTF8?
Fefonz Quan: just make sure we speak the same language Scath :)
Tarmel Udimo: can you speak tibetan scath
Scathach Rhiadra: hmmm, I opnly know there id a unicode font, not the technicalities
Scathach Rhiadra: is*
Yichard Muni: there is
Yichard Muni: Nya peuskad tos she kyi yeu
Scathach Rhiadra: it doesn't seem to work properly though
Scathach Rhiadra: can't stack letters
Yichard Muni: but the viewer must render all the UTF8, this is not warranted
Yichard Muni: tibetan UTFs use letters in different positions, in order to stack them, like we do with accents
Scathach Rhiadra: hmm
Yichard Muni: -
Scathach Rhiadra: and I can type direct input into any app, like notepad, even twitter, Facebook
Scathach Rhiadra: but in chat window, the letters won't stack
Fefonz Quan: maybe the font here is too small for that?
Scathach Rhiadra: well it handles Japanese
Yichard Muni: I can do ^p
Fefonz Quan: not been an opressed small nation helps....
Yichard Muni: ... even in SL , lol
Scathach Rhiadra: :)
Tarmel Udimo: :-)
Tarmel Udimo: is maxine's dream workshop on today?
Fefonz Quan: yes, nine minutes to Dream Life
Yichard Muni: so the viewer doesn't use UTF. If it did, it would be able to fetch any set of character on the proper server, and display it properly
Yichard Muni: -
Tarmel Udimo: well I need caffine before I continue so I might just duck away for a few mins :-)
Fefonz Quan: (should it use WTF, a new protocol ?)
Scathach Rhiadra: ah, well Pema has asked a Linden for help, maybe something will come of that:)
Scathach Rhiadra: it would be good for the Tibetan language classes
Fefonz Quan thinks how do one looks when ducking away :),
Scathach Rhiadra: ?
Scathach Rhiadra: ah, Tarmel:)
Fefonz Quan: (just off topic, yeah)
Scathach Rhiadra: I'm a bit slow tonight:)
Fefonz Quan: no, just focused on the important things ging on here :)
Fefonz Quan: going*
Some quotations from Scath: "Know that perception involved with the duality of perceiver and perceived is consciousness. Know that awareness itself, liberated from perceiver and perceived, is primordial awareness: the dharmadhatu." - Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche
And Scath also gives this session it name:
Scathach Rhiadra: found some nice qoutations about awareness/perception
Scathach Rhiadra: Know that perception involved with the duality of perceiver and perceived is consciousness. Know that awareness itself, liberated from perceiver and perceived, is primordial awareness: the dharmadhatu. ג€”Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche
Fefonz Quan: great quotations, Scath
Fefonz Quan: those tibetans, they are really ahead of us
Scathach Rhiadra: I've been reading a text called 'In praise of the Dharmadhatu, (Being)
Scathach Rhiadra: ah, time for the workshop?
Fefonz Quan: yes, Dreamdhatu
Scathach Rhiadra: :)
Fefonz Quan: i will be going there too, are you tarmel?
Scathach Rhiadra: is Tarmel back with us yet?
Fefonz Quan: and Scath, i think you got the tiltle for today :)
Scathach Rhiadra: ?
Fefonz Quan: i would like to use your dharmadhatu as a title, appropriate, isn't it?
Scathach Rhiadra nods
Fefonz Quan: tarmels hat tail shines in all colors :)
Scathach Rhiadra: :)
Scathach Rhiadra: Tarmel?
Fefonz Quan: see you there
Tarmel Udimo: I am back...
Tarmel Udimo: see you there
Scathach Rhiadra: ok
