Bertrum Quan: Yes, that's how I feel this evening.
Gaya Ethaniel: ok :) do both of you practice 9 seconds or any other meditation practices?
Nymf Hathaway: Yes I do but interested in your 9 seconds....
Gaya Ethaniel: oh please tell me about what you do Nymf. :)
Nymf Hathaway: I use the time before I fall asleep, 10 deep breaths in and slowly out again and try to fill my head with positive thoughts
Nymf Hathaway: since I do my asthma almost disappeared
Gaya Ethaniel: ah ... That's amazing :)
Nymf Hathaway: yes I think so as well... I think asthma patients do not inhale correctly...since I discovered my better working lungs by this
Bertrum Quan: Perhaps there's also a reduction in stress as well.
Nymf Hathaway: agrees stress makes it worse
Gaya Ethaniel nods.
Nymf Hathaway: or maybe we should say Emotion does
Bertrum Quan: all emotion (or emotions)?
Nymf Hathaway: Sadness, stress, anger etc seem to increase attacks
Nymf Hathaway: even laughing can
Gaya Ethaniel: /afk
Bertrum Quan: Feelings of joy ? I would think they might reduce attacks...
Nymf Hathaway: no not always
Bertrum Quan: Can you give an example?
Nymf Hathaway: and I discovered the breathing doesn't go as deep as I should when I laugh or are sad....
Nymf Hathaway: so thats why I think inhaling deep seems to resolve it
Nymf Hathaway: it does for me :)
Nymf Hathaway: slowly but deep

Bertrum Quan: You mentioned "positive thoughts." Do they play a role in reduction?
Gaya Ethaniel: What you say does make sense in terms of breathing.
Nymf Hathaway: no that’s just because I want to end each day positive and hope I can influence my dreams by it :)
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Nymf Hathaway: well it shows Gaya.... it really reduced my attacks and when I have one it ends more quickly when I start inhaling deeply
Bertrum Quan: Are you able to influence your dreams in this way?
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Nymf Hathaway: The last few years I do not remember my dreams, as is odd for me as I always was someone who always remembered them
Gaya Ethaniel: I had a period of not remembering dreams but started to remember them for a few months now.
Nymf Hathaway: Do you analyse them?
Gaya Ethaniel: No ... not really, I can normally see why I have certain dreams.

Bertrum Quan: Some of them. Yes.
Gaya Ethaniel: Do you attend Maxine's dream workshop then Nymf?
Nymf Hathaway: I haven't so far, but I would very much like to

Bertrum Quan: What's the time difference for Australia?
Nymf Hathaway: they are 6 or 8 hours ahead of Europe I believe
Nymf Hathaway: so you should be able to meet them
Bertrum Quan: So it would be late afternoon/early evening their time/
Bertrum Quan: That makes sense. I've met some Australians and New Zealanders late in the evening my time.

Bertrum Quan: Last night I came to the 1AM session here and my computer froze. Couldn't get back on for some reason. Did you have any issue at yesterday's session?
Nymf Hathaway: Well sl was troubled all day yesterday, many people complained and at one point I had a log in issue as well :(
Nymf Hathaway: I hope today will be better
Bertrum Quan: That's reassuring that the problem wasn't wholly my computer
Nymf Hathaway: No it sure wasn't
Bertrum Quan: Getting back to your early comment, you must sleep very deeply. Perhaps that's why you do not remember any dreams.
Nymf Hathaway: I agree
Bertrum Quan: So perhaps the positive thoughts do have a good effect
Nymf Hathaway: Well that’s a great insight indeed... never thought of it that way :) but true sounds very ogical :)
Nymf Hathaway: logical
Nymf Hathaway: You said you are a night owl... I am the opposite, early bird :)
Bertrum Quan: The world needs both!
Nymf Hathaway: sure does!
Nymf Hathaway: diversity is one of the best things on this globe
Bertrum Quan: Yes, that's true. If only there was more tolerance...
Nymf Hathaway: I agree fully...going for the positive diversity
Nymf Hathaway: Looking at the footage of Iran is depressing to the ultimate :(
Nymf Hathaway: speaking of zero tolerance
Bertrum Quan: Yes. But there are so many areas of war and poverty and disease... That's not to say there are good things too. But there is no shortage of suffering.
Nymf Hathaway: I think the world needs a positive CNN...meaning just good news, ideas, developments etc
Bertrum Quan: And not FOX news (do you get that in Holland)?
Nymf Hathaway: No I haven't seen it :( is it good?
Bertrum Quan: Let's put it this way. There's lots of anger in the USA these days (especially among the conservatives) and FOX fosters and promotes that sort of thing.
Nymf Hathaway: oh
Nymf Hathaway: that’s a worldwide issue, everywhere people think they can profit from stirring up things :(
Bertrum Quan: Yes. And they do make a profit.
Nymf Hathaway: It’s sad really...we Europeans would have hoped Obama would change things for the positive ... but it seems the population of his own country doesn't agree, that’s really sad because the world needs an Obama to build bridges ... not just him but it starts with one
Bertrum Quan: Obama is relatively popular right now. He has the majority with him. But there's so much anger among the conservatives it seems. So much hate (including racism) is being generated. It's scary.
Bertrum Quan: Obama is articulate and energetic.
Nymf Hathaway: same here Bertrum... we have someone called Geert Wilders... I am sooo ashamed he has so many people who vote for him, its scary indeed :(
Nymf Hathaway: I agree :) and a positive wind
Bertrum Quan: So when we look closely we'll find that to some degree everywhere.
Nymf Hathaway: yes
Bertrum Quan: And another area that's at issue is the respect for the planet itself and the creatures that share it with us.
Nymf Hathaway: Oh I so agree
Nymf Hathaway: I am proud of projects in Holland where they try to get something positive from both crises at the same time... environmental and economical
Bertrum Quan: How so?
Nymf Hathaway: as for one... a boiler who uses the heath that comes free from tapping hot water gets used as energy :)
Nymf Hathaway: Nice development
Bertrum Quan: I see. Yes. Back to Obama. He is trying to get the US to do more of that.
Nymf Hathaway: and our government wants us to use solar energy and we can get money for buying the panels
Nymf Hathaway: Good for him!
Nymf Hathaway: I read his first book, did you?
Bertrum Quan: Yes, I purchased it and have read much of it.
Nymf Hathaway: Great thinker
Bertrum Quan: And willing to be self-aware!
Nymf Hathaway: Yes that makes (among other things) a great thinker :)
